Hey everyone! I come with good news! I am finally able to write again! I seem to be getting over the block and now I am really hoping to get back into the swing of planning and ready and get back to the stage I was in August. I have an idea for a Draco and Astoria fic in my head inspired by an RP I am currently doing on Twitter so we shall see if i can form a fanfic from the idea.
Stay safe,
Lots of love,
LM xx
Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 80:
The return to Hogwarts had gone to plan and the only… bump in the road… was the fact that Aurora now wanted her doll and unicorn teddy to go with her around the Castle. Lucius had remained at Hogwarts to discuss how they could handle that. Deep down they knew that it was impossible unless Draco could shrink them and then unshrink them when Aurora was back in the Common Room for the day. Draco, of course, had agreed and the matter was laid to rest.
The days slowly began to pass and Aurora settled back down into school with Charlotte. Draco was still being extremely protective of his sister but the bullying and teasing had stopped so he was able to settle down into school as well. He had been anyway but with the news of who Aurora was and making sure that she was safe it was hard for him as well.
Lucius and Narcissa had also begun to settle into a routine between the Ministry and Hogwarts for Narcissa. She was thriving being back at Hogwarts and doing something she loved again and Madam Pomfrey was grateful for the help and always made sure that Narcissa could go back to Malfoy Manor at least once a week and that helped Lucius and Narcissa's relationship at the same time. They knew that they weren't going to have any more children but a spark had returned to their marriage.
Of course just as things settled down and everything was in a routine there was always going to be something that would shake things up and this time was one that the parents truly hadn't seen coming. It was a letter but not just any letter. It was one from the Law Enforcement Office at the Ministry.
Dear Lord and Lady Malfoy,
As you will no doubt be aware one Bellatrix Lestrange is currently awaiting trial for the kidnap and attempted abduction of your 12-year-old daughter Aurora. Well I am writing to inform you that Aurora is going to be called as a witness in the case.
This means that she will have to physically see Bellatrix in the courtroom and thus think it would be a good idea if Aurora were to meet Bellatrix before the trial. This would mean Aurora having to go to Azkaban but there are Dementors there now and only highly skilled Aurors on patrol working together to restrain the prisoners. All prisoners are wearing magic restricting cuffs and unable to perform magic, thus meaning Aurora would be safe. Yourselves would be allowed to accompany Aurora but we think that it would be a good idea for Aurora to meet Ms. Lestrange before the trial, details of which can be enclosed with this letter.
I await an owl with your answer as soon as possible.
Amelia Bones,
Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement
Lucius and Narcissa looked at each other, stunned into silence before Narcissa looked at Lucius.
"No way. There is no way that our 12-year-old is going to Azkaban to see Bellatrix before the trial. She is too young to be going to Azkaban, let alone see Bellatrix in there."
"And do you really want the first time our daughter sees her kidnapper to be in a courtroom?" Lucius asked, "she will have to see her before then somehow because I think being in a courtroom will scare her enough and then having to face Bellatrix at the same time? No I think that she needs to meet her beforehand."
"But it's Azkaban!" Narcissa said, almost shouting at her husband.
"There are multiple spells and charms that can be placed on her to protect her. Charms that the Aurors there have on themselves whenever they are there," Lucius said, "I get that you want to protect her but I think it would be too much for her to be opposite her in court for the first time as well. We have to remember that she is behind as well…"
"All the more reason to keep her away from my sister! She could try and do something to her and then it makes our little girl even more behind," Narcissa said, arms folded as she looked at him.
"No. Maybe Bellatrix needs to see what she's done and then she can face up to things knowing exactly what she has done to Aurora," Lucius said, "Bellatrix needs to understand how much she has hurt us as well as the damage she did to our daughter. I'd like to keep her away from Bellatrix but there is no way that we can if Bellatrix's trial is soon. I'd rather have her at least see her in Azkaban rather than in the courtroom Cissa…"
Narcissa sighed as she thought. She knew that Lucius was right and that it would be better for Aurora to see Bellatrix in the wizarding prison but she was also being stubborn,
"Why don't we discuss this with Aurora and see what she says?" she asked, "I mean this is basically up to her isn't it? What she wants to do?" Lucius nodded and agreed that was a fair enough point and that Aurora should be asked.
So after school Aurora was brought to Snape's office and she was surprised to see both her parents there.
"What's going on?" Aurora asked, "am I in trouble?
"No you aren't little love but mummy and I do need to ask you about something," Lucius said, "we've had an owl about Bellatrix's trial and we are now left with two options and we'd like to look at them with you. Can we do that?"
Aurora had to think for a moment before she nodded and looked at Lucius, expecting him to speak but it was Narcissa who spoke.
"Well we have had an owl to say that you will need to be at Bellatrix's trial because of what happened at the hospital but daddy thinks that it would be better for you to see Bellatrix in Azkaban where she is being held currently," Narcissa explained, "but we decided that we would tell you and also let you decide what you want to do."
Aurora sat there in silence as she thought about what had been said and she could feel eyes on her and she thought before she looked at her parents, "I'm scared to even see her but I want to see her in Azkaban because I think that will be safer," she said and the parents looked at each other before nodding.
"Then that is what we will do," Lucius said and Narcissa nodded. She wasn't happy about it but she had to respect her daughter's wishes… no matter how much she disagreed with them.
