Hey everyone! We've made it to level 12 of Jumanji! (I'll try not to use this next year...) Anyway we've made it to December and I'll save the soppiness for my midmonth update. I think we can all say it's been a rollercoaster of a ride though. Well here is the penultimate update of 2020. Oh yeah... my new fic has finally been posted so go and check out Love Strikes Twice.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 83:

Because nobody could be sure what Aurora had got she was kept in the Hospital Wing. Draco had wanted to see his sister, as had Charlotte and Astoria but, at first they'd been refused, until an outburst of French and Gaelic from Astoria meant that the group could see Aurora.

The girl's fever was now being brought under control, enabling her to be able to do some minimal schoolwork and read and write in her storybook but nobody could figure out what was going on with Aurora. Her compromised immune system wasn't helping as she would need help to build a stronger one and then she would also need help fighting of anything she did catch.

Severus and Professor Sprout were working together on the case. Both felt that they had the solution and Severus had been using every free moment he could to try and find out what was attacking his goddaughter to the point she'd been delirious with a fever. He poured over potion books and medical books before his eyes widened and he hurried through the thankfully empty corridors and burst into the Hospital Wing.

"She was bitten by a Venomous Tenatacular in Herbology. That's what's caused the rash," Severus said before he looked at Aurora asleep as she sometimes was, "the poison began to attack her system slowly and was then accelerated by going to Azkaban as it was feeding on the darkness of the place."

Narcissa's magic instantly crackled as her anger towards Lucius built again.

"So it is his fault then…" she said before her Ebony wand was soon pointed at Lucius. She would hurt her husband, but only if anything ever happened to their daughter. Narcissa had always been protective of Draco but that was nothing compared to what she was with Aurora.

Before she could do anything the doors flew open and in walked the Herbology Professor and straight over to the matron.

"I know what needs to be done. Narcissa step back and let us work," she said and Narcissa's wand clattered to the floor as Lucius pulled her back. He was mad that she'd try and hex him but he also knew that she was ultra protective of their daughter.

"I'm sorry," Narcissa whispered and Lucius kissed her forehead.

"Nothing to be sorry for. I shouldn't have forced you into this… Azkaban," Lucius whispered as he watched Aurora, hoping that she would now be ok, "we need to think about her immune system and how we can help her."

"She's got so many issues with her immune system and I will need to have a look at what I can do to help her improve that," Narcissa whispered, "she needs to get that stronger and soon."

"I know that you will see that that is done as soon as you can," Lucius said softly as he kissed her head again before they were allowed to get to Aurora and they sat there all night with their daughter, just watching her.

The next day and Aurora finally began to show slow signs of improving and she was able to get out of bed and walk around. It washed Lucius and Narcissa with relief that Aurora was improving and Narcissa was wondering how she was going to tell her daughter about her compromised immune system. Would Aurora even understand that? She had no idea.

Draco and Astoria were sat with Aurora and she looked at the two.

"Why is Draco calling you Ria?" she asked and Draco had to chuckle. His sister was getting more alert and he looked.

"Ria is my special name for her and you call her Tori," he explained.

"Are you two going to get married when you are older?" Aurora asked and the two looked at each other. They had no idea but the answer was yes. The two just didn't know it yet. Astoria smiled softly and she got onto the bed and held the younger girl close.

"It wouldn't matter if we did marry or not Rora. It wouldn't change how much I've grown to love you," Astoria said and Draco watched the two together and his heart softened that little bit more.

Meanwhile Lucius and Narcissa were walking around the Black Lake and they sat down under the same tree they had when they'd been at Hogwarts together.

"Should we honestly have taken her there?" Narcissa asked, "we knew that it was a risk taking her there anyway."

"Cissa we didn't know that she was ill. If we'd have known that then we would have delayed it until she was better," Lucius said, "in some ways Azkaban saved her because it brought everything to the front. She could have been a lot worse if she'd caught something else and we wouldn't have known about her immune system being so weak."

Narcissa sighed as she looked away from him.

"Luc… we have almost lost our daughter again. Our daughter who has already had to battle through so much and now we have to turn around and tell her that she has a weakened immune system? Will she even understand what that means?"

"I don't know Cissa but I'm sure we'll be able to make her understand somehow," Lucius said, "she's progressing well and is understanding so many more things now than to what she was before," he pointed out.

"Yes but there are still so many things that she doesn't understand and that is what we have to remember," Narcissa said, "she's a Malfoy but a different one and we have to be prepared for her to be treated differently because of that. She's been in care Luc, no Malfoy should ever have taken away from their parents… their name. Bellatrix stole our daughter's right to everything the moment she was taken from us. I will not lose her again. My heart just will not take losing her again."

"Narcissa stop," Lucius said as he looked at her, "you will not lose Aurora again because I simply will not allow it to happen. She won't ever be taken from her family again. Nobody will get that chance because they'll have to get through me first. Our daughter is home and that is where she will stay. I will make sure of that."
