Hey everyone!
So we have reached it... both the last update of the year and the last few days of what have been the craziest year I've ever known. If anyone had told me this time last year about how this year would have gone I'd have said "You're joking!" but it really has been such a crazy year. One lesson I have learnt this year is to be grateful for what I have and never taken it for granted ever again. Now onto the soppiness. Thank you all who have read my stories this year... whether you're new here this year and have boarded the LM fanship or whether you've been here a while; I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my stories. I know sometimes they slow down and not much happens for a bit but the continued support keeps me going. I do look at my figures every now and again but it's ok if I don't have 10k a month. I write because I enjoy it and you all come and read my stories, hopefully enjoying them as well. 2021 will be better in some ways and not in others but we'll get through it by the power of words and stories. (and this became a LOT longer than I'd hoped it would be...) Anyway I'll pip down now so you can read. New Year's Day update are planned as normal but if I don't update I'l sure you know I'll update on the 2nd.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Lots and lots of love,
LM xxxx
Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 84:
Now that Aurora was being treated properly it wasn't long before she was improving. Lucius and Narcissa had barely left Aurora's side and Astoria had also been trying to teach Aurora some French and Gaelic to stop her getting bored. It was rather funny sight to see but it was making Narcissa smile. Yes… Astoria co was perfect for her son and also as another female figure for her daughter to look up to. That was all she wanted for her little girl and she took a break as Astoria had just arrived after school.
It was a couple more days and Aurora was heading back into the school. She blended in with everyone in the Great Hall and she sat quietly next to Charlotte and ate her breakfast.
It was around that time that Lucius and Narcissa were sat at the Staff Table and an owl swooped down in front of Narcissa and she looked at the owl. Fear engulfed her as she saw her older sister's handwriting. She tugged on Lucius' sleeve before beginning to read the letter.
Dear Cissy,
I wish that you would drop these charges against me. I'm sure your daughter isn't bothered about the case and she wouldn't really understand it all. I bet you haven't even told her about the traitors of the family or what your husband was. I'm sure you wouldn't like her to find out from someone else.
Anyway drop the charges or I'll make sure she finds out about her Death Eater father.
Bella.
Narcissa looked at Lucius and bit her lip before she felt the anger brewing.
"How dare she blackmail us? How dare she do that to us?" she asked as she clenched her fist.
"I think we shouldn't reply to her and then tell Aurora about them and what I was," Lucius said, "I don't want her to find out from anyone else," he said as he looked at his wife and then down at their daughter eating her toast quietly, "we can do it this weekend, just us two and her. Draco has a meeting and the Greengrasses will be in Hogsmeade and I could possibly convince the Headmaster to allow Charlotte to go with Daphne and Astoria." Narcissa thought about it before nodding softly.
"Yes… we can do that," she said, "she has to know from us and I will ignore the letter from my sister." Lucius nodded and kissed her cheek before the two carried on eating their breakfasts.
After breakfast Lucius and Narcissa met with Dumbledore and explained everything and Charlotte was allowed permission to go to Hogsmeade. This had aroused Draco's suspicions and he'd spoken to his parents and agreed that Aurora had to be told sooner rather than later and the plan was revealed to Draco but nobody else.
The weekend arrived and Aurora watched as Charlotte went off with Astoria and Daphne and she had been about to head to the library when she felt her mother's hand on her shoulder.
"Daddy and I wish to talk to you," she said softly and something in her daughter's eyes made Narcissa pick her up and carry her back to Lucius who was waiting in their room.
"Why has Charlotte gone off with Astoria and Daphne?" she asked.
"Because we need to talk to you about something darling," Lucius said, "well a couple of things but you need to find this out from us and not from anyone else." He watched as Aurora nodded before his eyes flickered to his wife.
"Now remember when I showed you the Black Family Tapestry at Christmas…?" a nod from Aurora, "and remember that there were two scorched marks on there," again another nod, "that is because the two people did bad things and betrayed the family. Do you know what that means?" A shake of the head.
"It means that they did bad things that hurt the Black Family Name," Lucius said, "there are certain things that Pureblood families cannot do and those people did it and are no longer members of the family."
"I think I understand. They did bad things and that makes them no longer family…" Aurora said, "but who are they?"
"They were my cousin Sirius and your aunt Andromeda, the middle sister to myself and Bellatrix," Narcissa said, "Sirius ran away because he hated what the family stood for so he went to a friend's parent's house. Andromeda ran away and married a Muggleborn and, thus, she lost her place in the family. You can only marry someone who is a Sacred 28 Pureblood member," she said before stopping as she could feel Aurora trying to process the information she'd just been told.
"So Sirus ran away and wasn't what he should have been and Andromeda ran away and married a Muggleborn and that meant they both are long longer family," Aurora said before she frowned and cuddled her doll closer, "but I'm different… does that mean I will be scorched off too? I don't want to be scorched…!"
Narcissa instantly pulled her daughter close and stroked her hair, "No my darling girl," she said softly, "you're different but not like they were. You're different because of how you were raised. That doesn't mean that will happen to you," she said, "now daddy has something that he wishes to say to you."
Lucius sighed and looked at his daughter. She was far too innocent to know the whole truth. He pulled his sleeve up that was covering his left wrist.
"Do you know what this is?" he asked his daughter.
"No but it looks scary," Aurora said and Lucius shot a glance at his wife before he carried on.
"When Draco was a baby there was a war happening. It was between the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters. The Order were good and the Death Eaters were fighting for Pureblood rule. I had to follow your grandfathers into the Death Eaters and this was what we were branded with," he said, "but I want you to know that I wasn't given a choice. I won't say what the Death Eaters did but I want you to know that I am no longer that person. What matters now is you and Draco and helping you both to be the best you can be," he said.
Aurora bit her lip before she looked.
"So you are good now?" she sked softly and Lucius took their daughter from his wife and kissed her head softly.
"Yes I am good now and nobody will ever hurt you again," he said before holding his daughter close hoping that she would see that he was good and no longer bad. He and Narcissa had done the hard part though and that was what mattered to them.
