Happy May!

Hello again everyone! I've been away on holiday and have managed to get some chapters written for some of my fics... well, the main three HP ones I am writing. I have also started on my LOTR and Fantastic Beasts fics and honestly, it's helping me to be able to write Breaking Traditions, Love Strikes Twice and Finally Belonging Somewhere which I'm so happy about. Work is settling down and looking good, so things are starting to look up for me after a year of struggles and things. Thank you everyone for sticking with me and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back to twice a month updates in either June or July.

Lots of love,

LSH xx

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 102:

"Let me teach you a tune 'Rora," Aislynn said as she looked at Aurora and smiled softly. Aurora looked at her and nodded softly before wrapping her arms around Arabella and Kenzie gently wrapped an arm around Aurora's small waist as the 12-year-old watched Aislynn playing the Scottish tune. It was nice and happy, making Aurora wish to get up and dance, but she remained routed in her seat.

Aislynn began to play the tune and it was a little more complicated than Aurora was used to but she listened to the melody and smiled before she began to try and play the piece as well. She began to try and keep up with the playing but began to get frustrated and then it happened…

Aurora kicked out and began to cry and just hit the keys hard startling Kenzie and Aislynn. Jen rushed over and pulled Aurora into her arms.

"I didn't mean to upset her," Aislynn said, "I just wanted her to learn something from us," she said softly and looked upset.

"Aislynn this is not your fault. Aurora just struggles with things," Jen said as she soothed Aurora, "you're OK Aurora. It's nothing to be ashamed or upset about," she said before sitting Aurora back down with Aislynn and Kenzie.

"We should teach her slower I think," Kenzie said as she looked at Jen and then her sister, "it's too fast her at that pace I think," she said.

"That would be an idea indeed Kenzie," Jen smiled softly before Aurora spoke,

"I'm hungry," she said softly and looked at Maggie.

"Well then we can get some snacks and then try and piano play again," Maggie said and soon the three girls were sat eating some lunch before another girl appeared.

"Greer," Kenzie said with a chuckle as the youngest of the three girls came and sat down with the others, "Aurora this is Greer. Greer this is Aurora Malfoy, Draco's sister."

The two girls greeted each other shyly before they carried on eating and Jen and Maggie spoke in hushed voices as they watched the girls.

"I'm guessing that outburst only supports your theory…" Maggie whispered.

"Yes it does sadly. It's something that I'll need to discuss with people," Jen said in a hushed voice as Aurora looked at her before she carried on eating again.

After lunch Kenzie and Aislynn sat back at the piano with Aurora and began to try teach the Malfoy girl the piece on the piano but they began to do it slower and made sure that Aurora was understanding the tune as they went along.

"Is that a better pace?" Kenzie asked and Aurora and she nodded before trying to play the few chords that she'd just been taught.

Kenzie slowly taught Aurora the cord and then slowly told her the story behind it all. It was a story of Scottish pride and clans. Aurora listened and asked about the tartan as she'd seen it almost everywhere and Greer hurried off to get hers and Aislynn took turns at explaining the tartan colours.

"I want tartan," Aurora said as she looked at the tartan.

"Well that will be a discussion for later Miss Aurora," Jen said as she chuckled softly before the girls moved to the chairs in the living room by the fireplace and Kenzie read the younger girls a book. Aurora sat a little way away and held Arabella close as she listened to Kenzie reading the book. She began to enjoy the story. It was a book called Anne of Green Gables and it was written by a Muggle Author but it was one of Kenzie, Greer and Aislynn's favourites.

"I want to finish reading the story," Aurora said, "can I borrow it at some point?" she asked.

"Well I'm sure we can take you to town and buy you your own special copy. Maybe Astoria could come as well," Greer said, "then you would not have to worry about reading it and giving it back. We could see what books you'd like to read and then Kenzie can write a list!" she said and Maggie chuckled.

"Well yes. We could show Aurora the town indeed. We'd have to see if it is OK with Aurora's parents first but I'm sure that can be arranged," she said and Greer grinned in excitement before listening to Kenzie reading again.

Dusk began to arrive and Jen suddenly gasped.

"As much as you girls are happy I need to get Aurora back to the Big House for dinner but I am sure she can come back and see you soon. Maybe you can show her the vast book collection soon," Jen said and Maggie nodded.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea," she said and Aurora said bye before heading out and getting back onto her pony and headed back to the Big House.

"Can we really go back there?" Aurora asked and Jen nodded before seeing Astoria waiting to take Aurora upstairs.

"Go with Astoria," Jen said and Aurora headed inside with Astoria.

Jen settled the horses before heading to find James and Cait in her father's study.

"Well?" Cait asked.

"She had a meltdown as she couldn't play the tune of our ancestors but she was trying once McKenzie and Aislynn taught her slower.

"But that's a fast tune…" Cait said.

"Yes. That was the reason Aurora got upset," Jen said softly, "I'd expected it to happen once the girls started teaching her slower," she said, "she also wants a tartan."

James chuckled at that, breaking the silence that he'd been having as he listened to the conversation between his wife and daughter.

"Well she can have one if she wants. I think Astoria has performed the welcome things already if I'm being honest but we can discuss that with the Malfoys. Welcoming Draco and Aurora officially into the family would allow them more protection on the Land and then they have more rights here as well," James said.

"Well add that to the list of things that need to be discussed with Lucius and Narcissa when they arrive," Jen sighed, "just how big this list will get I don't know."
