Hey everyone!
Better late than never, right? I'd meant to update last week but, as usual, life likes to keep throwing things at me and I forgot about updating. I'm surviving and slowly starting to get back into things again. I'm starting to remember why I love writing. I'm feeling closer to being able to update twice a month then I have done for a fair few months so that is something.
Thanks for sticking with me.
Lots of love,

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 108:
Whilst Meredith, Draco, Aurora and Astoria were out having a tour of the Estate Lucius and Narcissa were sat in James' study with the Laird and Lady, and Jen, about Aurora. The Malfoy parents didn't truly understand their daughter's diagnosis but they wanted to help Aurora… they just didn't want her to know what she had for even though it was a muggle condition they were not sure how the magical community would view their daughter.
"What Aurora has will be on a strict need-to-know basis," Narcissa said, "I do not want her to know about her autism. She sees the world in such a different way and I don't think she needs to know why… at least not for now," she said.
Jen sat in silence as she thought about what Lucius and Narcissa were saying. She could understand the need-to-know basis as she as aware of the backlash it could cause but she wasn't 100% sure on Aurora not knowing.
"I can understand the need-to-know basis but I feel Aurora should be told about what she has," she said finally.
"Would Aurora even understand wha she has if she was told about it all?" James asked making a few people jump as they'd forgotten he was there, silently in the shadows of he study.
"What House did you say you were in Laird Greengrass?" Lucius asked as he looked at the Laird.
"Ravenclaw but I was almost a Hatstall between the Eagle and the Snake, Lucius," James replied, "I think we can use first names seeing as we are tied together, be it between Draco and my granddaughter or my daughter's care for yours. We are tied together now."
"Then I will respect your wishes," Lucius said with a nod towards the Laird and Lady.
"Now that's out of the way…" Jen said clearing her throat, "I believe that Aurora wouldn't truly understand her diagnosis now but she may well do in the future and that is something that will only become clear to me as she grows up. It's not something that she will lose or grow out of. This is her life now… and ours as well."
Narcissa sighed as she sipped her coffee, processing Jen's words, thinking back to that fateful day when her daughter was taken by someone she'd trusted… someone she thought had loved her. Bellatrix did love her but it was slightly twisted version.
I have a couple of proposals that I want to ask whilst I have you all here," Jen said after a while, clearly allowing Narcissa some time to think, "I had already agreed to be Aurora's main carer to allow Narcissa to be a mother to her and the emergency carer as well but I will come back to Hogwarts and inform the Professors of everything they need to know. I will also make weekly visits to check on Aurora for myself and see how she is doing," she said.
"I think that would help, yes," Lucius said as he looked at Jen, "that would make sure that everyone is reading from the same parchment at last," he said.
"I also do think that the visits to the Estate should be regular," Cait said, "being here has done Aurora the world of good and could help her skill develop as well…"
"I will take offence to that," Lucius said instantly, "Malfoy Manor is going to be just as good for Aurora."
"With all due respect, Lucius, I think that what my wife is saying is that, whilst the Manor will help nurture some skills she needs, the Estate will also help with skill learning and other skills that only the Estate can offer," James said and Cait nodded.
"That is exactly what I mean," she said ad Lucius held his hands up in a sign of apology, "I apologise for not understanding clearly. No offence was meant."
"You are fine Lucius" Cait said, "I could have explained it better," she said with a smile.
It wasn't long before thoughts were turning to all the Hogwarts children to going back to school for the new term. Lucius and Narcissa had spent a lot of time with Jen learning about their daughter's diagnosis. Jen was going to get it officially confirmed but it was 99% confirmed by Jen and that was enough for everyone.
"Kenzie says she needs some more its for school and Astoria needs some bits as well so I'll take them all into town tomorrow with Cal so we can send them all back off with everything they will need," Maggie said, "I have no doubt Aurora will want something of the Highlands to take with her as well. She did have her eye on something last time," she said with a chuckle, "I dread to think how many more stuffed teddies that girl needs."
"We'll have to make up a room for them at Malfoy Manor I think," Narcissa said with a chuckle.
"Is there room for me to come?" Meredith asked as she wanted to go and see the tan as well.
"Of course you can. There's plenty of room," Maggie said.
"James and I will watch the littles for you as well," Cait said, "We'll have them do something here for us," she said and Maggie nodded in appreciation.
"Will I be able to talk to you at Hogwarts now I know about you?" Aurora asked Kenzie as the kids were sat in Astoria's room.
"Yes you will," Kenzie chuckled, "I have no idea why my cousin never told you about us in the first place," she said, a side glance at Astoria, "unless it was so you didn't get too overwhelmed when you were struggling with things as it was…"
"We shall never know but everything is in the open now," Astoria said.
"Apart from why mummy and daddy decided to keep Aunt Meredith a secret," Aurora said as she looked at her brother.
"Don't look at me for the answer to that," Draco said, "sadly I don't even know the answer to that one," he said earning a shrug of the shoulders from his sister.
Eventually night shifted to morning and, with it, brought the mini return to Hogwarts day that had always been coming.
