Hello everyone!
So I've realised that 3 of my fics I am happily writing and one I'm not so what I'm going to try and do is get a new system in place so I can get the 4th one written as I do like to write it. That 4th fic will be updated by the end of next week, maybe sooner if I can get it done tomorrow. Nan was taken back into hospital on Tuesday so things have been rather chaotic this week.
Lots of love,
LSH xx
Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 110:
The term slowly began to pass on and with it came Aurora's most settled period of time. She was settling into a routine that was much needed for the 12-year-old. She was also beginning the transformation into looking like a proper Malfoy. This was probably due to Jen's influence and work on making sure Aurora was getting the food that she was needing to help her body.
Narcissa had been grateful for Jen's support as she could spend time getting to know Aurora… more than she did anyway and that was wonderful for her as she was able to see her daughter growing up in so many ways. There was still a long way to go but things were heading in the right direction at least. Everyone knew that it was going to be slow but things were better than they had been when Aurora had come into their lives. The missing Malfoy child was home and was making her family see the world in a different light, opening their eyes to things that they may not have known about before. It was certainly an education for Lucius and Narcissa.
It was shortly after the return to school that Natalie and Chloe walked up to Aurora, Charlotte and Ellie and asked to speak to Aurora. She looked at them before nodding and headed to sit with them to hear what they had to say. She was 'being the bigger person' as Narcissa had told her once.
"Chloe and I want to apologise… again… for what happened to you at the orphanage because of us," Natalie said, "it was wrong of us and we've had a thought about it and we can see how it was wrong. I'm sorry we never realised it sooner. If we'd known…"
"If you'd have known I was Draco's missing sister you would have bullied someone else instead. Is that what you're trying to say?" Aurora asked, raising an eyebrow in exactly the same way as he mother often did.
"Well maybe but, after seeing what happened with you and a few serious conversations, we can understand that bullying anyone is wrong and we shouldn't have done it to you… to anyone," Natalie spoke before she sighed and watched Aurora wondering if the girl could see that she was being serious this time.
Aurora sat in silence as she thought about what Natalie was saying taking a glance at Chloe, wondering if she felt the same. Also she'd barely spoken a word and had said nothing.
"Chloe? Do you feel the same way as Natalie? You haven't made any notion to say that you do," Aurora said as she looked at the other girl.
"I do Aurora," Chloe said, "it was wrong of me and I could see how much you were upset by it all growing up and Natalie couldn't," she said, "I am so sorry for what happened to you in the orphanage and it shouldn't have happened. You were just an easy target and I know that is no excuse for what we did."
Aurora sat in silence as she processed the words of Natalie and Chloe before she finally nodded.
"OK. This time I will forgive you but if I ever catch or hear you two bullying people again, I will see that you are punished for it," she said and Natalie and Chloe nodded and said that they wouldn't bully anyone again.
A few days later and the Malfoy children and the Greengrass children were sat in front of the fireplace in the Slytherin Common Room, well Aurora was laid on her stomach on the rug in front of the fireplace, when a thought struck Aurora.
"What is going to happen over the holidays?" she asked as she looked at Draco, "this will be the first proper summer holidays I get," she pointed out as she watched Draco.
"I haven't spoken to mother about that yet but there is usually a trip to France involved as both sides of our family have French roots," Draco said after some thought.
"What's France like?" Aurora asked as she watched Draco and he began to tell his sister about dance and their connections to the country and how they were connected to Daphne and Astoria through the Rosier line"
"We are?" Aurora asked causing Astoria to chuckle softly.
"No directly at least and not enough to affect my future marriage to your brother," Astoria replied as she looked down at Aurora, "so, yes, we're indirectly family already."
"Tell you what 'Rora I'll go and see mother at some point and see what the plans are," Draco said, "I have no doubt she and father have been speaking about it all," he said and Aurora nodded,
"I'd like that. I'm looking forwards to leaving England but… but I won't be able to see Charlotte or Ellie or Astoria or Daphne!" she said as she looked at Draco, horror filling her face.
"You'll see them at some point," Draco said quickly, "you never know mother and father may be planning to invite them all to France with us," he said before watching his sister, "I'll go and speak to mother tomorrow about it," he said, "that way she knows you're asking and can tell you all about it," he said and Aurora nodded before going back to her homework.
The next day Draco headed to the Hospital Wing and was relieved to see his mother there and not busy.
"Draco?" She asked as she saw her son walking in, "is it Aurora? Is she hurt?"
"No mother. She's been asking about what we will be doing over the summer and worried that, with us going to France, she won't be able to to see her friends or Ria and Daph."
"Looks like I will need to speak to her about it all as we're going to be in France and the Highlands this summer," Narcissa said, "so I will have to figure something out with Charlotte's parents and Ellie's as well but I will tell her that I'm sorting it all out at least."
Draco barely had time to nod before the door to the Hospital Wing burst open and Aurora rushed in with Ellie and Charlotte. Narcissa jumped to her feet seeing her daughter in distress.
"Charlotte hurt herself mummy!" Aurora said as tears fell, "she hurt herself and I didn't know what to do so brought her here."
"It's nothing really, just an accident in Herbology," Charlotte said before Narcissa and Draco hurried over. Draco went to comfort his sister and Narcissa looked at Charlotte's hand.
"That is a but of a nasty one. Come on, lets get you cleaned up," she said before grabbing the things she needed to treat Charlotte and kept an eye on Aurora to see if she would calm down.
"It's my fault she's hurt," Aurora said, "I took my eye off the plant and it attacked her. Professor Sprout managed to stop it but I feel so bad that my best friend is hurt," she said as she was sat on Draco's lap watching her friend get treated.
"Mother will fix it," Draco said as he kissed his sister's head gently, "just you wait and see."
