Hey everyone!
So, this was meant to go up around the time of my birthday but, in typical LSH fashion, things didn't work out and I was occupied for most of my birthday and then I headed down to my dad's house for the week. I may well be writing fic for NaNoWriMo next month to help keep up the momentum with writing as Cosy Season starts. It's my favourite time of the year.
Hope you're all doing well.
Lots of love,
LSH xx
Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 114:
Astoria had been to see Hagrid and he had agreed to let Aurora see Princess Ellanora and Hagrid had agreed to speak to Narcissa. The mother had been hesitant at first but, upon learning that Aurora had been unharmed last time, she agreed to let her daughter go and see the unicorn again. Astoria had been delighted to tell Aurora and the joy on the girl's face was enough for her.
The day before Draco's birthday arrived and Astoria wasn't going to Hogsmeade as she was taking Aurora to see her unicorn. Daphne watched as her sister and Aurora headed towards Hagrid's Hut.
"Alrigh' you two?" Hagrid asked before finding Aurora trying to hug him.
"Thank you Mr. Hagrid for letting me see Princess Ellanora again," she said and Hagrid chuckled softly.
"It's no trouble at all 'Rora," he said before Astoria thanked him as well, "Now come 'n' 'ave somethin' ta eat first," he said and that filled the girls with dread. Hagrid's cooking was known to be bad but they weren't going to say no and they walked inside the Hut to be met by Fang.
Whether by magic or not, Hagrid's cooking appeared to have improved as everything was edible and tasted delicious. Neither of the girls could complain about a thing so that must have meant Hagrid's cooking had improved.
It was just after lunchtime and Hagrid and the girls made their way to the unicorns. Aurora smiled and walked with Astoria wondering if her unicorn would remember her or not. It had been a while since she'd been to see Princess Ellanora and that had made her feel sad.
They stopped outside the enclosure and Aurora looked around to see if she could see her unicorn. It was kind of hard for her to see which one was hers. She watched each one before she pointed to one.
"There's Princess Ellanora," she smiled and sure enough the unicorn looked at her before trotting over to her, nudging her hand once she'd reached the girl. Aurora smiled and giggled softly before she stroked the unicorn gently, "Hello you. I thought you may have forgotten me," she said before Princess Ellanora made a noise in protest.
Hagrid gently nudged Aurora to go into the enclosure and then the girl smiled as her unicorn appeared to be making sure the others wouldn't hurt her.
"Why does the unicorn like her so much?" Astoria asked as she watched Aurora with the unicorn.
"'Cause she's diff'rent. Unicorns know when a person is diff'rent and need someon' te 'help 'em," Hagrid said, "your Miss Aurora 'asn't 'had anyon' te 'elp 'er." Astoria nodded,
"She sure in different. Sees the world in a very different way, That is something I have learnt about her for sure," she said.
"'Hat girl 'as more magic in her than most people do in their lifetime," Hagrid said before Astoria went to question him but did not get any more answers.
Instead she turned to Aurora and watched as she walked around the enclosure with her unicorn and then she smiled softly as she watched the other unicorns come and see Aurora now they were sure that she wouldn't hurt them.
"Please can I ride you Princess Ellanora?" Aurora asked as she looked at her unicorn and wondered if it were even allowed to ask to ride a creature. She soon had her answer as Ellanora knelt down and allowed Aurora to carefully get up on her and she held on carefully as the unicorn began to trot around the enclosure before Hagrid opened the gate and Ellanora and the unicorns headed out of the enclosure and towards the grass.
Narcissa would admit it was an odd sight to see her daughter riding a unicorn and she moved to stand by Astoria, having wandered down to see what was going on.
"This is an odd sight and something that I never thought I'd ever see," she said as she looked at Astoria and then at her daughter.
"She's special and the unicorns know it," Astoria replied when she managed to tear her eyes away from Aurora on the unicorn, "Hagrid said she has more magic inside her then most people have in their lifetimes," she said.
"I can believe that," Narcissa said as she watched Aurora, "I have learnt that my daughter doesn't see the world in the way that we do," she said as she nodded at Hagrid, "I had to come and witness this for myself Hagrid. Hope you don't mind at all."
"Not at all Narcissa. 'Rora is welcome to see them any time she wants to wishes. Might do 'er some good to look after them as well," Hagrid spoke as he glanced over at the mother who's eyes were followed her daughter intently and he chuckled softly before Astoria slowly made her way over to the unicorns and Aurora.
"Astoria won't hurt you unicorns," Aurora was heard saying, "she's my friend and a friend to you as well," she said and slipped down off Ellanora and over to Astoria to show the unicorns that Astoria was a friend. She watched as the unicorns looked at Astoria before giving a sound of approval and the girl walked back up to Ellanora and the unicorn knelt down so she could get back up onto her unicorn and smiled softly before Ellanora trotted around on the grass and was careful not to unsettle her rider before going to Hagrid who lifted the girl off and gave her some food.
Aurora looked at Hagrid before she held out the food for the unicorns and she watched as Ellanora took the lead and took some of the food from the girl's hand and it wasn't too much longer before the unicorns were all having a little food from Aurora and taking it in turns.
"She's welcome any time?" Narcissa asked as she looked at Hagrid.
"Any time Narcissa. Th' unicorns love 'er," Hagrid replied before he looked over at Narcissa and wondered what the mother was thinking.
After a while Narcissa called to Aurora that it was time to go back to the Castle for dinner. Aurora nodded and said goodbye to the unicorns and promised that she'd be back soon and then headed back to the Castle with her mother and Astoria after having a fun afternoon with her unicorn friends.
