Pokemon: Friends to the End
Chapter 92: A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine!
Dawn was training Piplup for their next Pokemon Contest while Ash, Denise and Brock looked on.
"Quick Piplup use Bubble Beam now!"Dawn ordered.
Piplup fired Bubble Beam into the sky.
"Alright use Peck!"Dawn ordered.
Piplup went up the sky and popped a bunch of bubbles causing them to form a huge shape of himself.
"Wow, Piplup looking good."Dawn remarked.
"Yeah Piplup, check it out."Ash agreed.
"Pikachu."Pikachu said.
"Keep it up."Denise chuckled.
"Piplup sure seemed to be in perfect form."Brock commented. "Excellent."
"Alright Piplup, finish up with Peck!"Dawn ordered.
Piplup used Beck on the Piplup Bubble Beam shape causing the bubbles to explode and give blue sparkles.
"Piplup!"Piplup cheered.
Piplup landed back on the ground and was proud of his Bubble Beam routine though soon faints from exhaustion.
"Piplup, no!"Dawn panicked.
Dawn rushed forward and picked up Piplup.
"Are you okay?"Dawn asked worriedly.
"Pikachu."Pikachu said sadly.
"Is everything alright?"Brock and Ash asked in unison.
Piplup slowly took a few deep breaths.
"He looks pretty tired."Denise commented.
"Let's get to a Pokemon Center."Brock suggested.
"Right!"Ash, Dawn and Denise answered in unison.
In a Pokemon Center...
Piplup was relaxing on a bed while the heroes and Nurse Joy watched.
"Piplup is fine."Nurse Joy assured. "Nothing is wrong. Other than a case of mild exhaustion. Perhaps Piplup is over doing things."
Dawn became sad when she remembered Piplup has been doing many Bubble Beam routines.
"It's all my fault."Dawn said sadly.
"Now Dawn, please don't be so hard on yourself."Nurse Joy instructed.
Dawn looked at Piplup.
"One thing for sure, this little one needs some rest."Nurse Joy admitted.
"Yeah."Dawn responded.
"That will definitely reduce Piplup's exhaustion on over training."Denise agreed.
"Of course, thanks Nurse Joy, your great."Brock admitted.
"Maybe from now on, we should all take it easier."Ash suggested.
"Pikachu."Pikachu replied.
Dawn nodded. "Right."
Later that Night...
Piplup woke up from his sleep causing Dawn to brighten up.
"Piplup."Piplup yawned.
"Your awake."Dawn said in relief.
Piplup looked around the room.
"We are in a Pokemon Center."Dawn stated and became ashamed. "I-I had no idea, how hard I was working on you, Piplup. I am so very sorry, I don't deserve you as a partner."
"Piplup piplup piplup!"Piplup protested and shook his head. "Piplup pip!"
"Oh Piplup."Dawn cried in joy. "Thank you."
Dawn hugged Piplup gently, feeling happy he forgave her.
The older Twinleaf girl notice her penguin pokemon fell asleep causing her to put him back to bed.
In the Main Area of the Pokemon Center...
Denise was sitting down and resting her head on a table since she has fallen asleep.
In Denise's Dream...
Denise opened her eyes and notice she was in a place with a dark blue background that had swirling patterns, filled with multitude of levitating islands and a bunch of long waterfalls coming from a few parts.
However there was no sign of any people of pokemon.
"What is this place?"Denise asked.
As Denise looked around, she started to feel uncomfortable being in the area.
The place was so quiet and empty.
Then three little floating figures appeared, but Denise couldn't see their appearances since they were invisible.
"What are you three doing here?"Denise said. "This place isn't safe."
"Giygogagogwoh!"
Suddenly Denise heard an unsettling cry and saw a pair of glowing red eyes that belonged to a huge figure covered in black ink staring at her causing a gasp of shock to escape from her mouth.
In Reality...
"Denise?"
Denise opened her eyes and put her head up from the table before noticing Ash and Pikachu looking at her.
"Hey Ash."Denise said and rubbed her eyes. "How long was I sleeping for?"
"Only for a few minutes."Ash answered. "I was just talking to Professor Oak about Gliscor."
"Pikachu."Pikachu remarked.
"Oh, let me say hi to him."Denise stated as she stood up.
Ash and Denise went to one of the screens that showed Professor Oak.
"Hello there, Denise."Professor Oak greeted.
"Hi Professor Oak."Denise replied kindly. "It's been a while."
Then Dawn walked up to Ash and Denise.
"Oh hey Dawn."Ash greeted.
"How is Piplup doing?"Denise asked.
"Piplup did wake up once and then fell right back to sleep."Dawn answered.
"Well, well, Dawn, it's nice to see you again."Professor Oak stated.
"It's the poetry man!"Dawn said with a smile.
This caused Ash, Pikachu and Denise to sweat drop while Professor Oak laughed a little.
"Pika."Pikachu mumbled.
"Professor Oak is just giving me some advice."Ash admitted. "You and Dennie might be interested in it too."
"What kind of advice?"Dawn asked.
"You'll see."Ash said and looked at Professor Oak. "So please continue on of what you were saying earlier."
"Of course, when it comes to the power and size, Gliscor's got the upper hand."Professor Oak explained. "But the problem will arise when the opponent somehow manages to get behind Gliscor, which will enable it to attack with ease."
Ash and Pikachu frowned in concern.
"The point being, you need to pay attention to agility as you raise Gliscor."Professor Oak stated.
"Agility, got it."Ash said with a nod.
"A simple word, agility."Professor Oak commented. "A simple key to battling victory."
"That's awesome."Dawn admitted. "You write poetry even when you're giving advice."
Denise groaned and face palmed.
Professor Oak laughed a little before responding.
"By the way, you two, I hope you're exchanging information with other trainers and coordinators."Professor Oak said.
"What do you mean by that?"Denise asked.
"The Pokemon Centers are a place of friends."Professor Oak stated. "For meeting all they knew, that's for you."
"I see."Dawn said in realisation. "Then that means there is something useful I could be doing even when Piplup's resting."
"Cool, information exchange."Ash remarked.
"Pika pika."Pikachu replied.
Denise nodded. "That's the spirit."
"I'll do it."Dawn admitted and looked at Professor Oak. "Thanks a lot, Professor Oak. See ya!"
Dawn rushed away to talk to a young woman, who was brushing her Glaceon.
"Hi, there."Dawn greeted. "How are you?"
"I'm fine, thanks."the young woman answered.
"Your Glaceon has such beautiful fur."Dawn complemented. "You might have a trick or two up your sleeve to make it look like that."
"It's the way I use the brush."the young woman replied.
"Wow that sounds awesome."Dawn said. "Would you mind showing me your trick?"
"I thought you would never ask."the young woman chuckled.
Afterwards...
Ash, Denise and Brock along with their pokemon were clearing things up in the kitchen of the Pokemon Center.
Denise looked through the pages of a baking book with Hoothoot.
"Hoothoot."Hoothoot said as he flew down and pointed at a page with apple pie on it.
"Apple pie? Awesome idea, Hoot."Denise commented kindly.
"I am starving."Ash groaned and looked at Brock. "How about making some food, Brock?"
"Not just yet, Ash."Brock replied with a smile. "I have one more thing I need to do for Nurse Joy."
Both Ash and Denise sweat dropped at Brock's sentence.
"Why am I not surprised?"Denise mumbled as she pilled some apples.
"You see with all the pokemon that Nurse Joy is taking care of, her hands are full."Brock explained. "So I want to do anything I can to help my Nurse Joy out! As she worked tiredly and without thinking about herself so it is the least we can do for her, the very least! Don't you guys think?!"
Brock's expression grew lovey dovey as he dreamt about being with Nurse Joy only for Croagunk to poison jab him.
"Imagination is against the law?"Brock groaned in pain and dropped on the floor.
Denise and Ash looked at each other before chuckling nervously.
Later that Night...
The heroes and everyone else in the Pokemon Center were fast asleep.
But then Piplup's loud chirp rang out causing everyone to wake up and put on their daily clothes.
Piplup rushed up to Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock.
"Pickup, what's happening?"Dawn asked.
"Piplup piplup!"Piplup complained.
Then a young girl and boy went up to the heroes.
"Help!"the girl begged. "Someone stole all my pokeballs!"
"Mine too!"the boy added.
"Who would do that?"Ash questioned.
Nurse Joy rushed into the room.
"The repository is empty and all the pokeballs are gone!"Nurse Joy warned.
"Come on, let's go outside!"Denise suggested.
Ash, Denise, Ash and Brock followed Piplup and Pikachu outside the Pokemon Center.
Outside the heroes saw Team Rocket, preparing to leave.
"Stop!"Ash shouted. "Give those pokeballs back!"
Team Rocket began reciting their old motto.
"Prepare for trouble and a blast from the past!"
"And make it double, aren't theories a gas?"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reaches to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket, blasts off at the speed of light!"
"So surrender now or prepare for a fight, fight and fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
"It's Team Rocket!"Ash growled.
"It's bad enough that we have to put up with your usual routine, but what was that!?"Dawn snapped.
"History, a trip to the memory lane that got us down with group and back."Jessie remarked.
"We still do have it, don't we?"James asked. "Where everything is old becomes new again."
"And now we're gonna show off our basics by beating the pants outta ya."Meowth commented with a smirk.
"More like choking in your own stupidity."Denise mumbled with a hint of amusement.
"Shut your mouth, contest twerp!"Jessie snapped and took out a pokeball. "Yanmega, come out here and use Silver Wind!"
"Carnivine use Bullet Seed!"James ordered.
Yanmega and Carnivine fired their attacks at the heroes.
"Pikachu, let's go, use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.
Pikachu fired Thunderbolt.
"Yanmega, shake them with Sonic Boom!"Jessie ordered.
Yanmega's Sonic Boom cancelled out Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
The heroes glared at Team Rocket.
"When you're in tip top shape as we are, miracles never cease."Jessie giggled.
"Yeah, but wait there's more!"Meowth stated and held out a remote. "Check out our new back to the basics bohemian flytrap!"
With a press of a button, Team Rocket's getaway car transformed into mecha bot.
"It is flying!"Ash said in shock.
Team Rocket went inside their mecha bot.
"Now that's dome!"Jessie remarked. "An echoed chunk of robo-hunk!"
"A work of art pragmatically modeled after another work of art made by me."James chuckled as he held up a red rose.
"We drop the weight and we're feeling great!"Meowth laughed evilly. "So in honour to return back to the basics, I basically drained our wallets for this!"
"I know!"Jessie said. "Let's show the kids and rough up our tour!"
"Done deal!"James and Meowth answered in unison.
"First a rocket punch!"Jessie shouted.
Jessie pressed a button causing the mecha bot's arm to go towards the heroes.
"Look out!"Ash called out.
The heroes and Pikachu rushed out of the way as the mecha bot's fist hit the ground.
"That thing can punch!"Ash growled.
"Next stop rocket kick!"James stated with a smile.
The mecha bot sent a kick causing part of the pokemon center to be destroyed.
"It's the pick of the cake!"Jessie commented.
"In fact, it's better than ever!"James added. "We're bad! Good bad!"
"Good bad!"Jessie and James said in unison. "Music to my ears!"
"Now let's bring those twerpies to tears!"Meowth stated with a smirk.
Meowth activated the robot's cannon and it shot a beam at the pokemon center.
The trainers screamed in terror as they tried to escape.
"Our blinded high beam drive!"Jessie chuckled.
Jessie activated the blinding lights from the mecha bot's eyes causing the trainers to become more scared.
"Or our screwdriver bomb a tears!"James requested.
The mecha bot spins causing the trainers in the pokemon center to run away.
"Hurry!"Nurse Joy protested. "Get out of here, right away!"
"Boss missile toss!"Meowth said.
"High beam drive!"Jessie stated.
"Screwdriver bomb a tears!"James remarked.
Team Rocket continued using their mecha bot to unleash more chaos on the people below.
Denise's expression became dark and took out a pokeball.
"Enough of this!"Denise growled in annoyance. "Drifloon, I need you!"
Denise's pokeball opened and Drifloon appeared.
"Drifloon!"
"Use Ominous Wind!"Denise ordered.
Drifloon sent a big gust of repulsive wind on Team Rocket's mecha causing it to wobble and stop firing it's attacks.
"Heavy wind already?!"James, Meowth and Jessie panicked.
Denise looked at Dawn.
"Dawn, I think it's time for Piplup's bubble delight."Denise commented.
"Good idea."Dawn agreed and looked at Piplup. "Piplup use Bubble Beam!"
Piplup sent Bubble Beam towards the mecha bot.
"Ooh bubbliciously creepy!"James, Meowth and Jessie shouted. "When it's headed this way!"
The bubbles blocked the sight of Team Rocket's mecha bot.
"We can't see a thing with that blasted bubble wrap."Jessie complained.
"We need a big squeegee."James answered.
"Now's the time, Pikachu!"Ash stated. "Get those pokeballs! Iron Tail, go!"
Pikachu charged forward and used Iron Tail to dislodge the pod carrying the stolen pokeballs.
"Happiny, get out here and catch that pod!"Brock ordered.
Brock's pokeball opened and Happiny appeared.
"Happiny!"
Happiny quickly catches the falling pod filled with pokeballs.
Team Rocket used the mecha bot's hands to remove the bubbles.
"Ah, the gift of sight."Jessie replied.
James and Meowth sighed in relief.
"Alright Pikachu, Thunderbolt, let's go!"Ash ordered.
"Use Thunderbolt too, Drifloon!"Denise ordered.
Pikachu and Drifloon prepared to fire their Thunderbolts.
"Please, I got one thing to say about your bubbles and bolts."Jessie insulted and sticked out her tongue.
"Twerpy dolts."James taunted and looked at Meowth. "Quick Meowth, let's forge a retreat, tout suite."
"After all, we've got piles of pokeballs."Jessie reminded.
"Once word gets down at headquarters, we'll have piles of smiles."James remarked.
"Or maybe not."Meowth muttered while sweat dropping.
James and Jessie stared at Meowth in confusion.
Pikachu and Drifloon fired their attacks causing the mecha bot to power down.
"Wait back up, what happened?"Jessie asked.
"Because..."Meowth started.
"Because, spill it."James suggested.
The mecha bot exploded, sending Team Rocket flying.
"Spill it means saying what went wrong!"Jessie snapped.
"That thing was meant to handle electric attacks, who cares?"Meowth muttered.
"What were you thinking?!"Jessie demanded.
"I was thinking about getting back to the basics, brainiac."Meowth answered.
"Deja vu."James commented. "Remember that our first robot was devoid of any electric defences as well."
"When it comes to paying attention to detail, I'm a stickler, you see?"Meowth asked with a smile.
"Being a stickler means paying attention to pain!"Jessie shouted angrily.
"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"Team Rocket screamed and they disappeared in the sky.
The Next Morning...
The heroes were leaving the Pokemon Center.
"Thank you all so much for your help."Nurse Joy admitted. "Because of your generous help, everybody's pokemon are back home safe and sound."
"We really need to thank you."Ash said.
"You really helped us out."Dawn stated with a bow.
"Although, it doesn't help my heart to leave you."Brock cried in heartbreak.
"Cheer up, Brock."Denise instructed with a smirk. "You will recover soon."
Nurse Joy looked at Piplup, who was on Dawn's hat.
"Now Piplup don't over do it."Nurse Joy reminded.
"Piplup piplup."Piplup answered sweetly.
Then the group leave for Celestic Town with Brock left in a sappy mood about having to leave Nurse Joy.
