Mike stares at himself in the mirror, tilting his head to the side thoughtfully. "Hm," he says.

"Hm, indeed," AJ responds with a chuckle, walking up behind him and quirking an eyebrow. "So what's all this?" She lazily wraps an arm around him, allowing it to slide between his jacket and shirt, toying over his abs lazily. "You trying out biker chic or something?"

"Or something," he says, leaning back into her warmth. "I'm going to fake out everyone into thinking I'm LA Knight, see how long they buy it."

AJ nods, slowly turning him and looking him over. "Well, let's see the full thing." She plucks the sunglasses with Knight's name on them and carefully places them over Mike's eyes, examining him. "Well..." She shifts up onto her tiptoes and spikes Mike's hair up even more before stepping back to see how this makes him look. "You know, it's not bad. They might realize it when you speak, but-"

Mike clears his throat. "You think so?" he asks, putting a ridiculous amount of bass in his voice. I think they'll buy it."

AJ looks startled, then chuckles. "Well, go on," she teases him. "Say it. That way I'll know for sure."

Mike rolls his eyes, huffs. "I hate this saying so much," he mumbles in his own voice before squaring his shoulders. "YEAH!" he bellows and she laughs outright.

"Ok, yeah, that's pretty good." She presses into him and hugs him. "You'll be alright tomorrow?"

He nods. Hugs her back. It's been a rough week, but he does still love his job, and he's been working on this LA Knight impersonation for a few days to perfect it, there's no way he's going to back out now. "Yeah. I'll be alright. Will you and the kids?"

"Yeah," she murmurs, drawing him in for a kiss. "We'll be fine, right here waiting for you when you come home."

Mike smiles at her. "That's all I need," he says softly, kissing her again. "Now." He wiggles his eyebrows at her, making her giggle and swat at him. "You wanna help me get out of these clothes?"

She laughs at this, immediately helping to slide the vest off of his shoulders and moving on to the other articles of clothing that would normally never find their way on Mike's body. "Really, though," she muses, toying with the button on the jeans, "leather and denim look really good on you. You should try it more often."

He breathes slowly and shrugs. "You just find it easier to get me out of them than the suits."

She giggles and kisses him. "That too," she sighs against his mouth, finally freeing him of the last of the clothes and working kisses down his jaw to his throat. "C'mon, let's go to bed."

"Sounds good," he says, following her. As he holds her and kisses her, he pushes the whole LA Knight nonsense to the side, focused on this moment. Looking past his frustration and grief to be fully here, now, with her. "AJ?"

She pauses in kissing his skin, peering up at him with soft eyes. "Yeah?"

"I love you."

She exhales and crawls back up his body, cradling his face in her hands and kissing him warmly, deeply. "I love you too," she breathes against his lips, smiling even as tears fill her eyes. "So much."
