Pokemon: Friends to the End

Chapter 99: A Trainer and Child Reunion!

During their journey to Hearthome City, Ash and his friends stop by a town where they see a large crowd standing in a line.

Hoothoot was wrapped around Denise's arms.

"What's up with them?"Ash asked.

"They sure seem to be excited about something."Dawn commented.

"Hmm...why is this ringing a bell?"Denise said while rubbing her head.

Hoothoot looked at his trainer.

"Hoot?"Hoothoot asked in curiosity.

Officer Jenny walked up to the four heroes.

"Are you here to observe?"Officer Jenny questioned. "If so please, get in the back of the line."

Brock grabbed Officer Jenny's hands.

"Officer Jenny, whatever you say."Brock flirted. "A beautiful babe such as you wants me to observe, observe is what I live for!"

"Huh?"Officer Jenny asked in confusion.

Croagunk came out of it's pokeball to poison jab Brock and drag the breeder away.

"And die for."Brock muttered in pain.

"Excuse us."Ash said.

"I don't think we're actually what you mean by observe."Dawn stated.

"What? You're here without knowing what's going on?"Officer Jenny asked in surprise. "You see, the one and only Aaron is holding a public training session."

"Aaron, who?"Ash asked in confusion.

Denise let out an excited squeal which caused Hoothoot, Ash and Pikachu to get startled a little bit.

"Aaron?!"Denise squealed with her eyes sparkling. "As in Aaron of the Elite Four?!"

"Oh my gosh!"Dawn gasped as she bend down to take out a magazine from her backpack. "Aaron's on this month's Poke Chic. His one of the Elite Four."

Afterwards...

The group decides to watch the practice, where Aaron was training with his Bug-type Pokemon Drapion, Skorupi and Vespiquen.

"Now Drapion use Pin Missile!"Aaron ordered.

Drapion uses Pin Missile, nailing the bulls-eye of a far away target five times in quick succession.

"Nice shot, Drapion."Aaron remarked and looked at Vespiquen. "Vespiquen use Slash now!"

Vespiquen used Slash and easily carved up the ceramic plates fired at her.

"Yes!"Aaron chuckled. "Your both doing great!"

A large group of girls shrieked at Aaron's success.

In the crowd, Ash, Dawn and Denise gush about meeting another member of the Elite Four, remembering their meeting with Lucian.

"Wow, I can't believe that we're going to meet another member of the Elite Four."Dawn said.

"Piplup."Piplup chirped.

"Another member of the Elite Four."Ash said with a smile. "I remember when we first met Lucian."

"I heard Aaron is the first of the Elite Four that you have to battle first before battling the other three."Denise complemented.

Hoothoot smiled. "Hoothoot."

Officer Jenny let out an excited sigh.

"The amazing Lucian who uses psychic type pokemon."Officer Jenny admitted dreamily. "Bertha, who uses ground types, Flint who uses fire types and Aaron, who uses bug types. Of course, those awesome champion trainers who reign over the entire Pokemon League formed the Elite Four. But of all four of them, Aaron is the one who combines strength and popularity. He really walks the walk."

"Now Drapion, Hyper Beam!"Aaron ordered.

Drapion uses a series of quick Hyper Beams, destroying the targets.

"Yes, excellent work."Aaron commented.

"What's more, is that Aaron actually understands the language of bug types."Officer Jenny stated. "So on these combinations, he's spot on, perfect and amazing."

Officer Jenny gushes in excitement over causing Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise to sweat drop.

"Jenny pull yourself together, please."Brock instructed.

"Don't you see?"Officer Jenny asked. "Aaron has finally risen up and challenged Cynthia, Master of the Champion League and very soon, they're both going to have a battle that ends all battles."

Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise grew surprised hearing that.

"Cynthia and Aaron?"Ash said.

"I wondered about the challenger that Cynthia mentioned back then in Celestic Town."Dawn responded.

"I guess she was talking about Aaron."Ash commented.

"Sure sounds like it."Brock agreed.

"And Aaron is definitely going to win it."Officer Jenny remarked confidently. "Then, my hero will be the latest and the greatest Champion Master of all! Go, Aaron, go!"

Brock, Dawn and Ash gave nervous smiles while Denise sweat dropped.

"Oh brother."Denise mumbled.

"The time has come!"Aaron admitted. "Vespiquen use Gust, let's go!"

Vespiquen sent a powerful gust to destroy her targets.

The girls cheered in delight.

"Thank you very much!"Aaron called out. "We'll put everything we had in our battle with Cynthia! So please now, we'll be counting on your support!"

Skorupi, Drapion, and Vespiquen all spoke in agreement.

A group of girls quickly rushed up to Aaron asking for autographs while others gave him gifts.

"Hey! I want an autograph too!"Officer Jenny stated and became serious. "Uh, I mean, please form a line! Calm down, everyone!"

Officer Jenny went up to the crowd as Dawn and Denise stood up.

"Oh yeah that means we could get an autograph too."Dawn commented.

"Let's go then, sis!"Denise encouraged.

Dawn and Denise rushed to the crowd of girls.

Aaron was signing people's autographs.

"Thanks, now who's next?"Aaron asked.

"Man someday, I'm gonna clean up during the Champion League and then when I challenge Aaron and Cynthia, watch out."Ash admitted with a confident smile.

"Pika pika!"Pikachu agreed.

Dawn and Denise lined up with the crowd to get an autograph from Aaron.

Not long after, the line became smaller and the two sisters were getting their autographs from Aaron.

"Well, you two are last."Aaron commented.

"I'm Dawn, please sign this?"Dawn asked hopefully.

"And I'm her twin sister, Denise."Denise remarked. "Can I have an autograph too, please?"

"Sure, I be happy to."Aaron answered.

Aaron signed on Dawn's magazine and then a page on Denise's journal.

"Here you go."Aaron remarked.

"Thank you."Denise chuckled and held her journal. "I will treasure this forever."

"Also Cynthia told us the Elite Four are powerful battlers so she's not going easy on you."Dawn admitted. "No way."

"So you two know her personally?"Aaron asked.

"Yeah."Dawn replied. "We met her back in Celestic Town, right guys?"

Denise, Ash and Brock nodded in agreement.

"Her Garchomp is one tough pokemon."Denise commented with a smile.

"And we will be there voting for both of you."Ash responded.

"Good luck, Aaron."Brock stated.

"We are expecting quite a battle."Dawn said.

"Cynthia is definitely powerful, but I have been training a lot as well and we're all looking great."Aaron replied.

Drapion, Skorupi and Vespiquen replied in agreement.

"Here is my deal, I want to battle my way through the Champion League and become a League Master or even become one of the Elite Four."Ash admitted.

"Pika."Pikachu agreed.

"My goal is similar to Ash, but I want to defeat Cynthia in the Champion League."Denise explained. "But if I don't make it that far, I want to become a Battle Frontier Brain."

"Well, you two give it a shot."Aaron instructed. "I know, maybe you folks would all like to come to my training center. What do you say to that?"

"Sure."Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock agreed in unison.

"It would be an honour for me to have a visit from friends of Cynthia."Aaron stated.

"Do you know what that means?"Brock asked. "No one gets to have a chance to witness one of the Elite Four train."

"Wow."Dawn remarked.

"We love to come, thank you."Ash agreed.

"This is awesome."Denise chuckled.

Afterwards...

Aaron brought the four heroes to his training center.

Denise bend down to scan Skorupi with her pokemon.

"Skorupi the Scorpion Pokemon."Denise said. "As soon as the tail claws close, its needle tips secrete poison. It can survive a year without food."

"Your a tough little guy, aren't you?"Denise giggled.

Skorupi nodded it's head in agreement.

"Beautiful."Dawn commented kindly. "A gorgeous place to train."

"Piplup."Piplup agreed.

"The breeze is so relaxing too."Denise said as she stood up.

"Hoot hoot."Hoothoot sighed while closing his eyes.

"I built it right after I became part of the Elite Four, I love it."Aaron complemented.

Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock stared at the area in amazement.

There was a Combee and Mothim flying around while Ledyba, Surskit and Venonat frolic around outside.

"Hey, are those wild pokemon?"Ash asked.

"Right and it's obvious they're enjoying the nice weather we're having today."Aaron replied.

"This place looks like a complete paradise to bug types."Brock complemented.

"Drapion, Vespiquen, come out and say hi."Aaron ordered.

Drapion and Vespiquen came out of their pokeballs.

"Good work today, how about some time off?"Aaron asked.

Drapion and Vespiquen went their separate ways.

"Alright, guess it's my turn."Aaron stated.

Aaron began to do some exercise.

"Don't you get to relax too?"Ash asked.

"I work out everyday."Aaron admitted. "If I don't keep in tip-top shape, all of my pokemon will have a field day making fun of me."

"Well that's quite a gruelling regiment you go through."Brock commented.

"That's the Elite Four."Dawn complemented.

"Hey!"Ash said. "I wanna try it!"

Ash went on a bike and started peddling.

"Just make sure to try and not overdo it."Aaron instructed.

"Na, I'm fine."Ash assured as he started peddling faster.

"Look at Ash go."Denise chuckled.

"I'm sure your match with Fantina really got him inspired."Brock stated..

"Really?"Denise asked in surprise.

"It sure did, Dennie."Dawn agreed.

Piplup nodded. "Piplup."

"Hoothoot."Hoothoot chirped.

Denise looked down and blushed a little.

Dawn spotted a picture of a young Aaron together with a Wurmple.

A While Later...

Aaron finished training and takes his towel from Skorupi.

"Alright."Aaron said and wiped his face with the towel. "Skorupi, thanks."

Ash collapsed in the bike in exhaustion.

"Did you over do it, a little?"Brock asked.

"Pika?"Pikachu said.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."Ash assured.

"Even so you should take it a little break."Aaron suggested.

"Good idea."Ash agreed.

Denise walked forward and handed Ash a small yellow towel.

"Here, Ash."Denise requested.

"Oh thanks, Dennie."Ash replied as he took the towel to wipe his forehead.

"Hey Aaron, who is in the picture?"Dawn asked.

"That's the very first pokemon I ever caught in the forest you just saw."Aaron responded and took the picture. "When I was young, I lived in town so I sneaked out into the forest as much as I could."

Aaron began telling the four heroes when he was a small kid, he liked to climb trees.
One day he challenged himself to climb the lengthiest tree in the forest.

However, once he got to the top, Aaron realized how tall it was and how he could never climb down, but luckily there was a Wurmple on the tree who was able to help him, getting him safely down.

Aaron grabbed Wurmple and hugged it in thanks.

The green haired young man showed the heroes the photo albums of the two growing up.

"It wasn't long before we were best friends."Aaron admitted. "We were always hanging out in the forest, playing together."

"Wow that sounds great."Brock commented. "You two seemed to have had so much fun."

"Yep."Aaron agreed.

"I know just what you mean."Ash stated. "The first pokemon I've ever captured on my journey was a Caterpie, which of course, you know it's a Bug Type."

"Whoa, I'm impressed."Aaron remarked.

"Soon it evolved into a Metapod and then a Butterfree."Ash explained. "And that was that. I wonder a lot of where it is."

"Pika pika."Pikachu agreed.

"So Aaron, what's that Wurmple friend of yours doing these days?"Dawn asked.

"Well...you see..."Aaron started sadly.

Just before Aaron again answer, a giant suction hose activates, swallowing up Pikachu, Piplup, Hoothoot and Skorupi.

"Skorupi!?"Aaron called out.

"Piplup!"Dawn shouted.

"Pikachu!"Ash yelled.

"Hoothoot!"Denise cried out.

"Drapion! Vespiquen!"Aaron shouted. "No!"

Drapion and Vespiquen got blown away as well.

"Alright, I want to know what's going on!"Aaron snapped.

Team Rocket recites their motto.

"You may be an Elite, but you can't always get what you want!"

"Makes it that much more fun to pun!"

"On the wind!"

"Past the stars!"

"Love to flaunt!"

"Bringing chaos at a breakneck pace!"

"Dashing all hope, putting fear in its place!"

"A rose by any other name is just as sweet!"

"When everything's worse, our work is compete!"

"Jessie!"

"And it's James!"

"Meowth, that's a name!"

"We're putting those do gooders in their place!"

"After all, we're Team Rocket!"

"And we're in your face!"

Denise gritted her teeth in annoyance.

"Who's Team Rocket?"Aaron asked.

"They're a horrible group of criminals who steal people's pokemon."Brock responded.

"Not to mention they are idiots too."Denise insulted.

"Idiots?!"Jessie snapped. "The only idiots here, contest twerpette, is you and your friends! Horrible may have a completely different meaning to the non-twerpish persuasion."

"After all, having stolen both the Elite Four and twerp pokemon, I'd say we're some kind of wonderful."James remarked.

"Now that we can start selling our Elite Four pokemon on the line, we'll give the twerp pokemon as a bonus!"Meowth laughed evilly.

James, Meowth and Jessie laughed as they flew away in their balloon.

"Not so fast!"Aaron snapped as he rushed forward. "Those are our pokemon!"

Aaron leaps into the air to catch the pokemon.

"Serviper, Haze!"Jessie ordered.

Seviper appeared and used Haze to blind Aaron causing him to crash to the ground.

Brock, Ash, Dawn and Denise rushed up to Aaron's aid.

"No, Aaron!"Ash, Dawn and Denise said in shock.

"Aaron, your okay?"Brock said.

"Oh, he'll be fine."Jessie assured. "Of course, not as fine as we are."

"Since our inventory is up as you fools can plainly see."James commented.

"Bye-bye, twerpies!"Meowth laughed.

Team Rocket's balloon disappears over the tree tops.

"Those crooks never change."Brock commented.

"Up to their dirty, no good, rotten tricks as usual."Dawn retorted.

"I am so looking forward to crush them."Denise scowled.

"We can't worry about that now."Ash reminded. "We've got a bunch of our pokemon to save."

In the Forest...

Aaron, Brock, Ash, Dawn and Denise rushed to look for Team Rocket.

"I was so certain that Team Rocket came flying this way."Dawn said.

"Well, I sure don't see any sign of them."Brock stated.

"There is no way they would find a good hiding place here."Denise complemented.

"I got to find them."Aaron scowled and narrowed his eyes. "Those are my pokemon! My Drapion! My Vespiquen! My Skorupi!"

Brock, Ash, Dawn and Denise stared at Aaron with surprised expressions.

"Aaron?"Ash asked.

"Huh? I'm sorry."Aaron apologised. "You see the truth is when I was a kid, I was quite a crybaby. "I was no good at battling, I was always crying..."

After a loss to a trainer, Aaron blamed it on Wurmple, saying that Wurmple was weak and ran off before Wurmple could reply.

Aaron later felt so awful that he ran back later in the day but it was too late and his best friend had gone.

"I said horrible things to a best friend in the world."Aaron admitted in shame. "So I went back, but it was already too late. My Wurmple, my friend...was gone. After that I put all my energy into training. I worked with every bug type pokemon I could find so I could finally understand their language. But when I see Wurmple, I never want to go through that again."

Brock, Ash, Dawn and Denise looked at Aaron quietly.

"I can't let them get away."Aaron stated firmly. "I have to help out my friends!"

Suddenly a Ledian flew by and spoke to Aaron.

"Ledian."Aaron said.

Ledian tells Aaron it saw the balloon crash nearby.

"What? You saw their balloon crash right up ahead?"Aaron asked.

"Let's go."Ash suggested.

"Yeah."Aaron agreed. "Come on!"

Aaron and the four heroes rushed to find Team Rocket's crashed balloon.

Not long after, the group found Seviper and Carnivine looping over Piplup, Skorupi, Hoothoot and Pikachu.

Vespiquen and Drapion were injured on the floor.

"There they are!"Denise stated.

Aaron paused and recognised a nearby tree as the one where he met Wurmple for the first time.

"That tree...that's where me and Wurmple just met."Aaron admitted.

Meowth and Wobbuffet attack with the suction tank again, seizing Pikachu, Piplup, Hoothoot and Skorupi.

"Our Super Sucker Mark 9 is working just fine!"Meowth laughed. "Time to restock the proverbial shelves!"

"Wobbuffet!"Wobbuffet agreed.

Aaron dives on his injured Vespiquen and Drapion, keeping them safely on the ground.

"Drapion!"Aaron yelled. "Vespiquen!"

Pikachu and Piplup managed to each grab a branch and hold Skorupi in place.

"Hang on, Pikachu!"Ash called out.

"They can't win, Piplup!"Dawn protested.

"Your stronger than you look, Hoothoot!"Denise assured.

"I can't stand twerps tenacity!"Jessie complained.

"Meowth, turn the power up to ten!"James ordered.

"Roger that!"Meowth responded.

Meowth amp up the suction causing it to rip the branches from the huge tree, much to Aaron's anguish.

"Oh no!"Aaron shouted angrily. "The tree!"

Pikachu, Piplup, Hoothoot and Skorupi lost their grip on the tree and they fly into the suction.

"Pikachu!"Ash yelled.

"Piplup!"Dawn cried out.

"Hoothoot!"Denise shouted.

"Now that's slick!"Jessie giggled.

"Super Sucker is a success!"James chuckled.

Suddenly a Solar Beam blasts out from nearby and obliterates the mecha, ending the suction and causing Pikachu, Skorupi, Piplup and Hoothoot to fall to the ground.

"What was that?!"Aaron asked.

"It's a Solar Beam!"Brock answered.

Aaron, Brock, Ash, Dawn and Denise rushed up to Pikachu, Skorupi, Piplup and Hoothoot.

"Pikachu, are you guys all okay?"Ash asked.

Pikachu nodded. "Pikachu."

"Beautifly!"

The group looked up to see a saviour was a wild Beautifly.

"Check it out."Ash said.

"Beautifly."Dawn remarked.

"What a cutie."Denise admitted.

"Of course."Brock said in realisation. "That Solarbeam must've been launched by that Beautifly!"

"Are you...you're really my Wurmple."Aaron said with a smile. "You've evolved into a Beautifly."

Beautifly hovered down and went next to Aaron.

"That means after everything you went through, your Wurmple evolved and came back home."Dawn stated.

"Beautifly."Beautifly tweeted. "Beautifly."

"Beautifly says it wanted to get stronger and help me."Aaron responded. "So it went off by itself and started training."

"Awesome, so Beautifly remembered all the times you two had battling together..."Ash started.

"Then flew back home, after getting stronger."Denise remarked.

"Beautifly."Beautifly answered with a nod. "Beautifly."

"One second, saps!"Jessie snapped. "Your reunion is making me sick!"

"And we've got a business to run!"James argued. "So now the peasants and the elite meet, except we're the elites and you're the peasants!"

"Now, Seviper once more!"Jessie ordered.

"Carnivine, full ahead!"James ordered.

Seviper and Carnivine moved forward to attack.

"Yeah? No way!"Ash replied. "Pikachu, go!"

"Piplup, go with Pikachu!"Dawn instructed.

Pikachu and Piplup rushed forward.

"Use Haze!"Jessie ordered.

Seviper used Haze to blind Pikachu and Piplup.

"No, you don't!"Denise scowled. "Hoothoot, Supersonic!"

Hoothoot flew forward and used Super Sonic on Seviper.

Beautifly looked at Aaron.

"Beautifly."Beautifly tweeted.

"You bet!"Aaron replied. "Alright, Beautifly use Whirlwind!"

Beautifly used Whirlwind to remove the haze to reveal Seviper and Carnivine.

"Alright Vespiquen use Slash and Drapion use Hyper Beam!"Aaron ordered.

Drapion's Hyper Beam takes down Seviper and Vespiquen Slashes Carnivine into James.

"Great, let's wrap this up!"Aaron stated.

"Right!"Ash, Dawn and Denise said in unison.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt, let's go!"Ash ordered.

"Piplup use Bubble Beam!"Dawn ordered.

"Hoothoot use Silver Wind!"Denise ordered.

"Beautifly, Solar Beam, full blast!"Aaron ordered.

A combination of Beautifly's SolarBeam, Piplup's Bubble Beam, Hoothoot's Silver Wind and Pikachu's Thunderbolt sends Team Rocket blasting off.

"Again twerp pokemon combined with the Elite Four pokemon rock!"Meowth admitted. "A combination worthy of respect..."

"Unlike you and that turncoat trainer tog of yours!"Jessie snapped.

"Well, I'll call our turns, close our business and it's all your fault!"James commented.

"Wobbuffet!"Wobbuffet agreed.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"Team Rocket screamed as they disappeared in the sky.

"We did it!"Ash cheered.

Pikachu, Piplup and Hoothoot cheered at their victory.

Aaron looked at Beautifly.

"And thank you, Beautifly."Aaron remarked. "None of this would've worked without your help and look it happened front of our tree. We'll be a team from here on out and there's nothing stopping us from becoming Champion League masters."

Beautifly happily accepts and it joins Skorupi, Drapion and Vespiquen on Aaron's team.

"I'm so glad that Wurmple-I mean, Beautifly came home."Dawn admitted.

"Piplup."Piplup agreed.

"It looks Aaron's team is finally completed."Denise remarked.

Hoot hoot smiled. "Hoot hoot."

"Their team is more amazing."Brock commented.

"We've got an amazing team too."Ash chuckled and looked at Pikachu. "Ready to train harder, buddy?"

Pikachu nodded. "Pika pika."

Later that Afternoon...

"Aaron, thank you so much for an awesome day today."Ash responded.

"I can't believe how much we all learn."Brock stated.

"I'm really looking forward for your battle against Cynthia."Dawn admitted.

"Pip piplup."Piplup chirped.

"Good luck out there."Denise complemented kindly.

"Hoot."Hoothoot remarked.

"Thanks and good luck with your match against Fantina, Ash."Aaron commented. "Do your best."

"Right."Ash agreed with a nod. "That's the only way I roll."

"Pika pika."Pikachu giggled.

"See you around, Aaron!"Ash stated.

"Bye bye!"Aaron called out. "You all take care!"

Bidding Aaron and his pokemon farewell, the heroes leave Aaron's center by the lake.
