Pokemon: Friends to the End
Chapter 116: Trials and Adulations!
Ash, Brock, Dawn and Denise hike through the forest.
"Aw man, this forest never ends!"Ash groaned.
"But once we make it through this says there is a town right away."Brock stated.
Dawn tried to sip from her water bottle, only to find it empty.
"Something wrong, sis?"Denise asked.
"I'm fresh out of water."Dawn admitted. "I'm going to fill up my bottle with the spring up ahead."
"I'll go with you then."Denise replied and looked at Ash. "We won't be long, Ash".
"Okay."Ash said with a nod. "Go for it you two."
"We'll be back in a sec!"Dawn assured.
Dawn and Denise headed to the spring while Ash and Brock sat down on a log to wait.
Dawn approached the spring and started to fill her bottle while Denise stood next to her.
Suddenly a wild Aggron fired a Hyper Beam at the two sisters.
"Dawn!"Denise shouted. "Look out!"
Denise shoved Dawn away from the attack causing them to slip on the rocks and to fall into the river.
Piplup shouted as he was washed away with the two sisters.
"Vaporeon!"Denise shouted and took out a pokeball. "Come out!"
The pokeball opened and Vaporeon appeared in the water.
"Vaporeon!"
Denise grabbed onto Vaporeon with her free hand while her other hand grabbed Dawn's.
Not long after Dawn and Denise washed up a downstream.
"Pip piplup?"Piplup asked with a worried look.
"I'm okay, Piplup."Dawn assured. "Thanks."
Denise smiled at Vaporeon and stroked her head.
"Thanks for helping us, Vaporeon."Denise thanked.
"Vaporeon vap."Vaporeon said gently.
Dawn looked at the area that she and her twin sister were, but didn't recognise it.
"Dennie, I think we got separated from everyone."Dawn admitted nervously.
"Thanks to that Aggron and it's Hyper Beam no doubt."Denise scoffed in annoyance.
Dawn checked her Pokedex and got information about Aggron.
"Aggron the Iron Armour Pokemon."Dawn's Pokedex said. "Aggron's steel horns can destroy the firmest of bedrock and it digs tunnels as it looks for iron to eat."
"Whoa, who actually knew there was a pokemon that likes to eat iron?"Dawn asked.
"Piplup."Piplup chirped.
Denise stood up and looked at the stream with Vaporeon.
"Dawn, we better go and warn the others about that Aggron."Denise suggested.
"Right."Dawn agreed and picked up Piplup. "We better go before it is too late."
Dawn and Denise started running as Vaporeon ran beside them.
Suddenly a smoke bomb was dropped onto the two sisters and their pokemon causing them to get blind by the ambush.
"What's going on?!"Dawn demanded.
"Not now!"Denise retorted.
The smoke cleared away as Team Rocket began reciting their motto.
"The time couldn't be more perfect."
"Thanks to your intellectual lack."
"On the wind!"
"Past the stars!"
"In your ear!"
"Bringing real chaos at a breakneck pace!"
"Dashing hope, putting fear in its place!"
"A rose by any other name is just as sweet!"
"When everything's worse, our work is complete!"
"Jessie!"
"And James!"
"Meowth, now that's a name!"
"Putting the do-gooders in their place!"
"We're Team Rocket!"
"In your face!"
Dawn, Denise, Piplup and Vaporeon glared at Team Rocket.
"Team Rocket!"Dawn snapped. "We don't have time for this!"
"Get out of our way, you idiots or you'll be sorry!"Denise warned.
"Neither of you are the ones to give us orders!"James replied.
"We're here to take a few rings out of your circus!"Meowth added.
"Your both about to be roped and tied!"Jessie stated. "Your Piplup and Vaporeon that is!"
Jessie and James threw their ropes at Piplup and Vaporeon, but the two water types quickly moved out of the way.
"Assistance, Yanmega!"Jessie stated.
The pokeball opened and Yanmega appeared.
"You too, Carnivine!"James added.
Carnivine came out of it's pokeball and started bitting James head.
"We are dealing with the twerps!"James argued. "This is time to be bitting!"
"Alright Pipulp, Bubble Beam!"Dawn ordered.
Piplup fired Bubble Beam, but Yanmega dodged the bubble attacks.
"Vaporeon use Shadow Ball!"Denise ordered.
Vaporeon fired Shadow Ball towards Carnivine and the bug catcher jumped out of the way.
"Quick, Yanmega use Ancient Power!"Jessie ordered.
"Carnivine, Bullet Seed!"James ordered.
Yanmega and Carnivine fired their attacks causing Piplup and Vaporeon to quickly dodge them.
"Now Whirlpool!"Dawn ordered.
"Use Aurora Beam!"Denise ordered.
Piplup made a whirlpool to wash Yanmega away while Vaporeon fired Aurora Beam to knock out Carnivine.
"Yanmega!"Jessie shouted. "No!"
"Carnivine!"James called out.
"Afraid so!"Dawn said smugly.
"Dawn, we better go!"Denise reminded.
Dawn nodded as she and Denise started running away with Piplup and Vaporeon.
"What is with them?"Jessie questioned.
"Retreating is not the twerpettes mode."James commented.
"Maybe we got them scared off big time today."Meowth suggested.
"Aggron!"
Aggron appeared and attacked Team Rocket with Hyper Beam.
Team Rocket quickly hid in the bushes as Aggron walked passed where they hid.
"Who was that pokemon?"Jessie asked.
James picked one of his cards to identify Aggron.
"Here an Aggron."James answered.
"That must be the reason for those twerps high tailing."Meowth responded.
"Typical."Jessie muttered. "Only focused on saving their selfish skins."
"Mercenary."James added.
Dawn and Denise stopped running to catch their breaths.
"I think we lost Aggron for now."Denise patted.
"Vaporeon."Vaporeon sighed.
"Got it."Dawn said in realisation and took out two pokeballs. "Come on out, Buneary and Pachirisu."
The pokeballs opened causing Buneary and Pachirisu to appear in front of their trainer.
"Okay, we got split up from Ash and everyone."Dawn admitted.
This caused Buneary and Pachirisu to become sad.
"I was thinking that if you use your moves toward the sky, Ash and Brock might figure out where we are."Dawn suggested.
Buneary and Pachirisu became happy as Denise and Vaporeon smiled at the idea.
"Buneary use Ice Beam!"Dawn ordered. "Now Pachirisu, Discharge!"
Buneary used Ice Beam and Pachirisu fired Discharge into the sky.
"We will help too."Denise commented and took out a pokeball. "Kirlia, come on out!"
The pokeball opened causing Kirlia to appear and do a curtsy.
"Kirlia!"
"Kirlia, we need to signal Ash and Brock to let them know we're here."Denise explained. "Use Magical Leaf and Vaporeon use Aurora Beam!"
Kirlia used Magical Leaf and Vaporeon unleashed her Aurora Beam to help Buneary and Pachirisu signal their companions.
Then Buneary, Pachirisu, Vaporeon and Kirlia finished using their moves.
"Now the gang must've seen all of that."Dawn suggested. "I'm sure of it."
However the Aggron saw this and uses Hyper Beam causing the two sisters and their pokemon to retreat.
"That is not the person we wanted to see!"Dawn panicked.
"On second thought, this was a bad idea!"Denise retorted.
Dawn and Denise arrived to the end of the cliff with their pokemon as Aggron cornered them.
"Now what do we do?"Dawn asked. "We've run out of places to run!"
Aggron roared at the group causing Denise to get an idea.
"Ugh, this is bad."Denise scoffed.
"Looks like I got no other choice."Dawn replied and threw out a pokeball. "Okay Mamoswine, go!"
The pokeball opened and Mamoswine appeared.
"Mamoswine use Take Down on Aggron!"Dawn ordered.
Mamoswine sat down to take a nap causing Dawn to get angry.
"Not listening as usual."Denise said while sweat dropping.
"It's not nap time!"Dawn complained and took out a poffin. "Mamoswine have a poffin."
Aggron used Hyper Beam, which caused Mamoswine to fight it as Dawn and Denise backed away a little.
Aggron launched forward and used Double Edge on Mamoswine.
"No!"Dawn shouted. "Mamoswine!"
Mamoswine uses Ice Shard, which collided with Aggron's Ice Beam.
Dawn, Denise and their pokemon began to encourage Mamoswine to stay strong.
"You can do it, Mamoswine!"Dawn encouraged.
"Don't give up!"Denise protested.
Mamoswine gets hit by Double Edge again and gets knocked out.
This caused the cliff to be destroyed, but also make the two sisters and their pokemon to fall down to the ground below.
However Dawn and Denise were able to land on Mamoswine along with Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary and Pachirisu.
"I've should've stayed in bed."Dawn admitted. "Is everyone alright?"
Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary and Pachirisu gave the two sisters postive responds.
"Dawn, look."Denise instructed. "Mamoswine is wounded."
Dawn notice a wound on one of Mamoswine's leg.
"Oh, no."Dawn said worriedly and touched the wound. "Does it hurt?"
Mamoswine let out a painful groan.
"This is not good."Dawn complemented. "If we stay here like this Aggron will find us for sure."
"And Team Rocket too."Denise retorted with her arms folded.
Dawn checked her backpack for Mamoswine's pokeball, but couldn't find it.
"We've happened to Mamoswine's pokeball?!"Dawn panicked.
"It must be around here somewhere."Denise suggested.
Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary and Pachirisu began to help their trainer's look for the missing pokeball.
"Aggron could be back any minute."Dawn said. "I guess we've just gotta hide Mamoswine. Let's move Mamoswine over there right after we make him a nice comfortable bed."
"Good idea, Dawn."Denise agreed and looked at Kirlia. "Kirlia use your Ice Punch to cut some branches down."
"Kirlia."Kirlia answered gently.
Kirlia leapt forward to a tree to use Ice Punch on it's branches.
"Okay Ambipom, come on out!"Dawn remarked.
The pokeball opened causing Ambipom to appear.
"Give Vaporeon and Kirlia a hand!"Dawn instructed.
Ambipom used Focus Punch and Kirlia used Ice Punch to break tree branches down.
Then Dawn, Denise, Vaporeon, Piplup, Buneary and Pachirisu used the leaves to form the bed for Mamoswine.
"Looks like it's ready."Denise complemented.
Dawn went up to Mamoswine.
"Come on Mamoswine, we made a nice soft bed for you over there so you can rest, you can do it."Dawn replied and placed a poffin in Mamoswine's mouth.
After eating the poffin, Mamoswine began to stand up.
"Just like that Mamoswine, you can do it."Dawn encouraged.
"Your almost there."Denise assured.
Mamoswine moved to the bed with the help of Ambipom, Vaporeon, Piplup, Buneary and Pachirisu.
"Well done, Mamoswine."Dawn commented and looked at the others. "Now let's cover him up with leaves so no one can see a thing."
The group used more tree branches to conceal all but Mamoswine's face and the injured leg.
Mamoswine started groaning in pain.
"Mamoswine, are you in pain?"Dawn asked.
"He doesn't look good."Denise responded sadly.
Then Dawn remembered what Brock taught her about treating her pokemon.
"When a pokemon gets sick, you've got to stay calm."Brock instructed. "They can pick up on a trainer's anxiety and in the end it only makes things a lot worse."
Dawn smiled at Mamoswine.
"No need to worry, Mamoswine."Dawn assured. "You see Brock taught me and Dennie everything we need to know about giving first aid. "
"Exactly."Denise answered. "We make sure you get all better in no time at all."
Dawn and Denise found a bunch of Aloe Vera plants on the ground.
"This is exactly what we need."Dawn complemented.
"Aloe Vera."Denise said. "This plant is good to use as a gel to help ease the wound of a pokemon like Brock said."
"Okay gang, we need you to find this plant."Dawn ordered.
Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom began to retrieve more Aloe Vera for the two sisters.
Dawn and Denise used the gel of the Aloe Vera to treat Mamoswine's leg before wrapping it.
"Hope that is not too tight."Dawn said.
"All you have to do now Mamoswine is to relax."Denise instructed.
"Now Piplup can you use Whirlpool for me?"Dawn asked.
Piplup began to make a big Whirlpool.
"Whoa, Piplup!"Dawn protested. "A small Whirlpool, please!"
Piplup filled a bucket with water using a down-sized Whirlpool.
"Now Vaporeon use Aurora Beam on the water."Denise ordered.
Vaporeon used Aurora Beam to freeze the water.
Then Dawn placed the ice pack on Mamoswine's bandaged wound.
"Ice pack, check."Dawn remarked. "Now what's next?"
"We need to find an Oran Berry, but we need to make sure the soil is moist."Denise responded.
Dawn and Denise headed to look for Oran Berries with their pokemon.
The group spotted the berries up on a cliff.
"Look at them all."Dawn giggled and looked at Ambipom. "Ambipom, go get one and those bananas too. We can feed them to Mamoswine when his feeling healthy again."
Ambipom gathered the berries and a bunches of bananas for Mamoswine when he was feeling better.
The group came back and brought enough fruits for Mamoswine.
Dawn gives Mamoswine an Oran Berry.
"Look Mamoswine, we brought you an Oran Berry."Dawn admitted. "Now eat it all up."
Dawn placed the Oran Berry into Mamoswine's mouth and the ice ground type ate it.
"That's the way."Dawn giggled. "You're going to feel great in no time."
Denise smiled at the sight.
Later that Evening...
The two sisters and their pokemon overhear someone approaching from behind the tree they were with their pokemon.
Dawn and Denise peeked around the tree and spotted Team Rocket.
"Not them again."Denise muttered with a glare.
"This is bad."Dawn said and bend down. "Ambipom, do you think you could scare Team Rocket off without giving us away?"
Ambipom nodded. "Ambipom."
The Long Tail Pokemon carefully went to a bush that was behind Team Rocket before using a rock and hits the ground with it, making them believe Aggron was coming for them.
"I think Aggron must be a mind reader!"Jessie panicked.
"I predict we leave!"James stated in fear.
"Retreat!"Team Rocket shouted as they ran away.
Ambipom went up to her friends.
"Amazing."Dawn said kindly. "Thanks a lot, Ambipom."
"We should put you all back into your pokeballs to get some rest."Denise suggested.
This caused Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom to shake their heads while frowning.
"What's wrong?"Dawn questioned.
Piplup, Vaporeon, Kirlia, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom all looked at Mamoswine in worry.
"I understand, you're all worried about Mamoswine too."Dawn commented.
The six pokemon all nodded at Dawn and Denise.
"You guys are awesome."Dawn admitted.
"And sweet too."Denise giggled lightly.
The group became alarmed when they heard Aggron coming their way causing Kirlia to walk away from her companions.
"Kirlia, what are you doing?!"Denise whispered.
Kirlia goes behind Aggron and makes some noise in the bushes, so that the Iron Head Pokemon goes in the other direction.
Then Kirlia carefully returned back to her trainer and friends.
"Awesome job, Kirlia."Denise chuckled.
"Thanks for luring Aggron away from us."Dawn thanked.
"Kirlia kirlia."Kirlia answered with a curtsy.
A Few Hours Later...
The sun went down and it was now night time.
Denise rested against Mamoswine as Vaporeon and Kirlia slept next fo her while Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom slept together.
Buneary woke up and noticed Dawn still tending to Mamoswine's leg.
"Bun buneary."Buneary said with a smile.
"You can't sleep either can you?"Dawn asked. "Since the ice melted, I had a thought. How about another Ice Beam?"
Buneary creates another ice pack to replace the first one.
"Perfect."Dawn replied sweetly. "Thanks, Buneary."
Dawn placed the ice pack on Mamoswine's wound before going to sleep just like her sister and pokemon.
The Next Morning...
Dawn and Denise shared some of their fruits with their pokemon to have as breakfast.
"Hey Dawn, do you mind if I use some of the Oran Berries to make some muffins?"Denise asked.
"Sure."Dawn answered happily. "They would taste yummy."
Suddenly a Golem machine got pushed to the tree which causes Mamoswine's cover to be exposed.
"Mamoswine uncovered!"James admitted.
"If they can hide that, they can hide anything!"Jessie complemented.
Dawn and Denise quickly went forward to protect Mamoswine.
"Leave my Mamoswine alone!"Dawn demanded.
"And take a hike, you creeps!"Denise snapped.
"Demands require a position of power."Jessie sneered.
"Which our missiles will demonstrate."James added.
"Yeah!"Meowth laughed. "Can't wait!"
Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu, Ambipom, Kirlia and Vaporeon went forward to protect Mamoswine as well.
"Stop it!"Dawn shouted. "Can't you see Mamoswine's hurt?"
"Just leave us alone!"Denise growled.
"Ha!"Meowth taunted. "Try and dodge this!"
Staraptor spotted the group before going back to Ash.
Team Rocket fired the missile as the two sisters and their pokemon screamed in shock.
Suddenly Mamoswine woke up and pushed the missile back which caused the Golem machine to get hit.
"Mamoswine, is your leg okay?"Dawn asked.
Mamoswine nodded at his trainer.
Then Ash and Brock arrived to the area.
"It's Dawn, Dennie and their pokemon!"Ash said in relief.
"Are you guys alright?"Brock called out.
"Yeah, we're fine!"Dawn replied.
"Glad you guys finally found us!"Denise remarked.
Mamoswine knocked Team Rocket out of their Golem machine.
"Looks like the medicine worked, Mamoswine!"Dawn said.
Mamoswine nodded at Dawn.
"Was Mamoswine hurt?"Ash asked.
"And what is Team Rocket doing here?"Brock questioned.
"Two twerpettes are bad enough but now the whole ever-loving twerp litter is here!"Jessie said angrily.
"So let's rumble!"Meowth responded.
Ash looked at Pikachu.
"Ready to go, Pikachu?"Ash shouted.
"Pikachu!"Pikachu answered and got off Ash's shoulder.
"Yanmega use Steel Wing!"Jessie ordered.
Yanmega came out from it's pokeball and used Steel Wing.
Pikachu quickly did a spin to dodge the steel attack.
"Now use Ancient Power!"Jessie ordered.
The Mouse Pokemon ran to dodge Yanmega's second attack.
"Quick use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.
Pikachu used Thunderbolt to push Yanmega away to Team Rocket and blasting them off.
"We're fools!"Jessie complained. "We had the chance when the twerpettes was touring solo!"
"I told you when you start small you stay small!"Meowth replied.
"Whoever coined the phrase: 'easy does it' didn't have twerps making it difficult to do anything except for what we're doing right now!"James retorted.
"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"Team Rocket screamed and disappeared in the sky.
Aggron let out a roar as he walked forward to attack.
"So now we have to deal with that Aggron?!"Ash panicked.
"It just doesn't know when to quit!"Denise scowled.
Mamoswine flipped Dawn and her pokemon onto his back.
"Mamoswine, you want us to battle together?"Dawn asked.
"Mamo."Mamoswine replied.
"Alright! Let's go, Mamoswine!"Dawn encouraged.
Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom let out happy cheers as Denise and her pokemon went next to Ash and Brock.
Aggron rushed forward with Double Edge.
"Hit it with your tusks, Mamoswine!"Dawn ordered.
Mamoswine charged forward and blocked Aggron's Double Edge with his tusks on Dawn's order.
Aggron fired Hyper Beam, but it's attack also gets blocked by Mamoswine's tusks.
"Now Mamoswine use Ice Shard!"Dawn ordered.
Mamoswine hits Aggron with Ice Shard.
"Mamoswine is doing what Dawn is telling him to do!"Ash said in surprise.
"Who knew?"Brock asked.
"I can say is during our separation caused Dawn to gain respect from Mamoswine."Denise replied with a smile.
"Alright, Mamoswine use Ancient Power!"Dawn ordered.
Mamoswine uses Ancient Power, which knocked Aggron down and making it retreat.
"Guess Aggron had more than enough."Brock commented.
"It's about time."Ash agreed.
"Yep."Denise sneered.
"Pika pika!"Pikachu answered.
"Vap vaporeon."Vaporeon said gently.
"Kirlia!"Kirlia giggled and clapped lightly.
Dawn celebrated Mamoswine's victory with Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu and Ambipom
"You did it, Mamoswine!"Dawn cheered. "Yes!"
Denise, Ash and Brock walked forward as Dawn and her pokemon got off Mamoswine's back.
"Way da go, Dawn."Ash complemented.
"You sure showed Aggron not to mess with Mamoswine."Denise chuckled.
"You and Mamoswine are quite a team."Brock admitted.
"Thanks, guys. No need to worry."Dawn thanked. "You know, Brock? Me and Dennie remembered all the first aid techniques you taught us and used them on Mamoswine. Wow, did they work."
"So we've playing doctors with the help of our pokemon while trying to avoid Team Rocket and Aggron."Denise stated proudly.
Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu, Ambipom, Vaporeon and Kirlia all spoke in agreement as Mamoswine walked off screen.
Ash hands Dawn back Mamoswine's pokeball.
"Here you go, Dawn."Ash said. "This is Mamoswine's pokeball. Pikachu found it for you."
"To think this whole mess happened because I lost it."Dawn giggled. "Thank you so much, Pikachu."
"Pi pikachu."Pikachu answered with a smile.
Ash looked at Brock.
"Now we have to get through this forest."Ash stated.
"Right."Brock agreed.
"Oh yeah!"Dawn said in realisation. "Maybe now that Mamoswine is feeling better, he would want some of that fruit."
"That has already been taken care of, sis."Denise said with a awkward smile.
Dawn followed Denise's gaze and saw Mamoswine already happily chowing down on the bananas that Ambipom picked.
"Mamoswine!"Dawn complained.
"Well, the more things change the more they stay the same."Brock joked.
"At least you don't need to worry about leftovers."Denise snickered.
The four heroes and their pokemon burst out laughing before they left the forest to continue their journey.
