Pokemon: Friends to the End
Chapter 124: Pillars of Friendship!
Maria and Samuel arrived outside the Pyramid Temple to tell Brandon and the group that something happened in the Snowpoint Temple.
"Brandon!"Samuel called out.
"Something terrible has happened in the temple!"Maria admitted worriedly.
"Oh no!"Brandon said in shock.
"What happened?"Ash asked.
"It seems that a mysterious group of people have sealed off the temple!"Samuel answered.
"Mysterious group of people?"Dawn repeated.
"Why would do they do something like that?"Brock questioned.
"Regardless!"Brandon answered. "Let's board the battle pyramid and get there right away!"
"Sir!"Samuel responded with a nod.
"Brandon, can we come too?"Denise insisted. "We would like to help out too."
"Yes, please let us go!"Ash, Brock, Dawn and Lucas agreed in unison.
"Alright, kids!"Brandon answered. "Let's get going!"
"Right!"Ash, Denise, Brock, Dawn and Lucas responded together.
The group head off inside the Battle Pyramid to go and investigate the Snowpoint Temple.
Inside the Battle Pyramid...
"I wonder what it is they're after."Ash said.
"Whoever they are, they obviously want something that doesn't belong to them."Denise commented bitterly.
"Young man."Brandon said. "You don't happen to know the legend of the Snowpoint Temple do you?"
"No, I've never heard of it."Ash replied. "But I'd sure like to."
"Alright then."Maria responded. "It happened a long time ago. Once after a volcano violently erupted, the Snowpoint Forest, rich in natural resources and beauty was transformed into a sea of flowing lava. Then out of a bright blue light, Regigigas appeared."
"Regigigas?"Ash, Denise, Brock, Dawn and Lucas said in shock.
"Correct. Along with Regice, Regirock, and Registeel, together the four of them halted the volcano's eruption, thus saving Snowpoint City from destruction."Maria explained. "Later Regigigas transformed itself into a stone of light and fell into a deep sleep. In order to protect Regigigas, the legend says that Regice, Regirock and Registeel were transformed into three guardian pillars, made of amazing elements, ice, rock and steel."
"And their location is the Snowpoint Temple."Brandon added.
"Amazing..."Denise whispered.
"Torchic."Torchic chirped quietly.
"So what do you think those people are trying to do at the temple?"Ash asked.
"They're most likely after Regigigas."Brandon replied.
"I'll put up a view of the temple entrance on the main monitor!"Sam declared.
Saw pressed a few keys and a view of the temple came onto the screen above them.
"It's not Team Galactic."Denise scowled. "It's someone else."
"Your right, Dennie!"Ash agreed with a glare. "It's Hunter J!"
"Who's Pokemon Hunter J?"Maria asked.
"She's part of a group that steals pokemon and sells them on the black market."Brandon replied.
Lucas looked at Denise.
"You guys have run into her before?"Lucas asked.
"Twice, Lucas."Denise answered with a nod. "The last time we saw her was when she tried to sell an Aura Sphere Riolu to her client, but we were able to stop her in time."
"That's awful!"Lucas retorted with a glare.
Riolu growled quietly at the evil lady in the screen as Dawn looked at Brandon.
"But Brandon, I thought you just told us that the sleeping Regigigas was just a legend, right?"Dawn reminded.
"Not so."Brandon responded. "There has been sufficient evidence uncovered that shows it's not just a legend. That's why I came here."
"Right and that means they'll do whatever it takes to catch Regigigas!"Ash said. "So we gotta do something first!"
Brandon nodded in agreement.
Lucas took out Riolu's pokeball to return him in side it.
"Riolu, return."Lucas ordered. "I don't want Hunter J to capture and sell you to the black market."
Riolu spoke gently before he was returned into his pokeball.
Suddenly a virtual army of Metang and Skarmory showed up in front of the Battle Pyramid.
"Here they come!"Brandon warned. "Hang on!"
The Metang and Skarmory began to attack the Battle Pyramid with Sludge Bomb and Flash Cannon.
Ash, Brock, Dawn, Denise and Lucas held on tightly as the Battle Pyramid shook violently.
One of the engines got hit, forcing an emergency landing.
"Sir, one of the rotors is no longer functioning!"Sam warned.
"Hang on, everyone!"Brandon demanded. "Emergency landing!"
Brandon carefully controlled the Battle Pyramid level as it plummeted to the ground and slid through the forest.
"Is everyone, alright?"Brandon asked.
Ash, Brock, Dawn, Denise and Lucas looked at Brandon.
"Yeah!"Ash, Brock, Dawn, Denise and Lucas responded in unison.
Pikachu, Prinplup and Torchic gave positive responds.
"But the temple can't wait."Ash stated.
"We'll use the mini craft to get to the temple while Sam stays behind and repairs the motor."Brandon instructed.
"Sir!"Samuel answered firmly.
Brandon, Maria and the gang leave in a small airship while Samuel stayed to repair the Pyramid's motor.
The army of Metang and Skarmory prepare to attack the small craft.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.
"Torchic use Fire Spin!"Denise ordered.
"Prinplup use Bubble Beam!"Dawn ordered.
"Jolteon use Thunder Shock!"Lucas ordered.
Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Jolteon fired their attacks at the army of Metang and Skarmory, defeating them.
After defeating the pokemon, Brandon, Maria and the gang landed outside the temple.
"Let's go!"Brandon instructed.
"Right!"Maria, Ash, Brock, Dawn, Denise and Lucas answered.
Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Jolteon followed their friends into the Snowpoint Temple.
Inside they saw Hunter J had reached the three pillars and has send out Salamence to use Hyper Beam to destroy ice and rock pillars.
"Excellent."Hunter J responded with a smirk. "Now the steel pillar!"
Just when Salamence was about to destroy the steel pillar, Brandon yelled for Hunter J to stop.
Hunter J and Salamence notice the group showing up.
"Stop it!"Brandon demanded. "Stop this at once!"
"So you got past all my men."Hunter J scoffed with an unimpressed look.
"You've got to understand that you mustn't awake Regigigas!"Maria protested. "The result would be disastrous!"
Hunter J ignored Maria and looked at her Salamence.
"Salamence!"Hunter J ordered.
"Don't do it!"Ash shouted and rushed forward.
Salamence destroyed the steel pillar causing Denise to quickly move Ash out of the way.
"J!"Denise snapped. "Do you realise what you have done?!"
"Torchic!"Torchic chirped angrily.
Suddenly a small blue orb between where the pillars once stood has begun to glow.
"Uh oh!"Ash said.
"Could Salamence's attack could've waken up Regigigas?"Maria asked.
"I won't allow to let you go through this!"Brandon yelled out angrily.
"All we have to do is stand and watch."Hunter J sneered.
However as everyone continued looking at the orb, there was no sign of Regigigas' awakening.
"What?!"Hunter J scowled impatiently. "Why it won't wake up?! Quick use Flamethrower!"
"DON'T DO IT!"Brandon screamed in anger.
Salamence fired Flamethrower on the orb, much to Brandon's dismay.
Suddenly a triangle on the floor that had connected the pillars began to glow in a red light and Regigigas appeared.
"Oh my gosh!"Denise gasped in awe.
"No!"Brandon shouted. "It's Regigigas!"
Dawn took out her pokedex to scan Regigigas.
"Regigigas the Colossal Pokemon."Dawn's Pokedex said. "According to legend, Regigigas has towed continents using ropes."
Regigigas immediately started using Hyper Beam on the temple's walls and ceiling.
"Regigigas!"Ash shouted. "You gotta stop!"
"Your going to destroy the temple!"Lucas protested. "Stop it right now!"
Regigigas ignored the two boys and continued firing Hyper Beam in the temple.
"It's no use!"Maria exclaimed. "Intense rage is making Regigigas go berserk!"
"Well, you should thank me then."Hunter J said smugly and loaded her arm cannon to make the capture. "And now I shall preserve the rage that dwells deep inside of Regigigas forever!"
Denise gritted her teeth with a angry glare on her face.
Hunter J prepared to turn Regigigas to stone, but Regigigas stopped her with Hyper Beam.
"Salamence, Dragon Pulse!"Hunter J ordered.
Salamence counters Regigigas' Hyper Beam with Dragon Pulse.
"Retreat now!"Hunter J ordered.
Hunter J retreated while Regigigas goes on a rampage causing the temple to collapse.
"If these attacks keep up there's no doubt the temple will collapse!"Brandon warned. "We need to get out of here too!"
Suddenly a bunch of rocks from Regigigas' Hyper Beam causes to collapse towards the group.
"Let's go!"Brandon ordered and took out three of his pokeballs.
Brandon sends out his Regirock, Regice and Registeel.
The titans save the gang from being buried in falling rock by using Focus Punch, Zap Cannon and Flash Cannon.
"That's it!"Brandon declared. "Let's get out of here quick!"
Ash, Dawn, Brock, Denise, Lucas and Maria headed out of the temple with Brandon and his pokemon following from behind.
"Regirock, Regice, Registeel, I need your protection until we get out!"Brandon instructed.
Regigigas fires a Hyper Beam towards the group.
"Look out!"Ash warned.
The Hyper Beam burst out of the temple causing smoke to rise up.
When the smoke cleared away, it revealed the gang had escaped while being protected by the titans, right before the temple collapses into a pile of rubble.
Denise blushed a little when she notice Ash had his arms safely around her.
"Are you okay, Dennie?"Ash asked.
"Y-Yeah."Denise stuttered shyly and sat on her knees. "Thanks."
The group looked back at the collapsed temple and saw that the entrance had been blocked off.
"Where's Regigigas?"Ash asked.
"Buried under the rubble."Brandon replied.
"Not even Regigigas could break free of that."Brock commented.
Suddenly Regigigas breaks out of the rubble and it still shoots Hyper Beam in every direction.
"You were saying, Brock?"Denise questioned with a frown.
"Regigigas, stop it!"Ash demanded.
"Pika pika!"Pikachu shouted.
"I'm afraid no one is able to stop Regigigas now."Maria responded worriedly.
"Oh no."Dawn responded nervously.
"But what can't just give up!"Lucas reminded.
Brandon went up to his three pokemon.
"Regice, Regirock and Registeel!"Brandon instructed.
Regice, Regirock and Registeel jumped into action as Ash went up to Brandon.
"Brandon, what are you doing?"Ash asked.
"I'm going to calm down that rage by catching it!"Brandon declared and looked at his pokemon. "Unleash Hyper Beam together!"
Regice, Regirock and Registeel use Hyper Beam, but Regigigas countered it with a Hyper Beam of its own causing a huge explosion.
"Now, get up close and unleash your Focus Punch!"Brandon ordered.
The titans charged Regigigas to use Focus Punch together, but Regigigas pins them down.
"It stopped the three of them with one hit!"Dawn said in shock.
"This leaves me no choice!"Brandon stated. "Regirock, Registeel, hurry and hold down Regigigas!"
Regirock and Registeel grab onto Regigigas.
"Regice use Ice Beam!"Brandon ordered.
Regice uses Ice Beam, freezing Regigigas along with Regirock and Registeel.
"You did it, Brandon!"Ash cheered.
"Amazing how you froze Regigigas with along with both Regirock and Registeel too."Brock commented.
"It was a last ditch strategy, but it worked."Dawn admitted.
"But what do we do now?"Lucas asked. "We can't leave them like this?"
However the ice started to crack causing Regigigas and the other two pokemon to be released.
"The ice beam didn't work?!"Denise gasped in disbelief.
"Regice, Zap Cannon!"Brandon ordered.
Regice uses Zap Cannon to paralyse Regigigas.
"It felt that."Brock mumbled.
"Now Registeel use Iron Head and Regirock, Stone Edge!"Brandon ordered.
Registeel uses Iron Head, knocking Regigigas to the ground while Regirock uses Stone Edge to weaken Regigigas even further.
"And now to get you into this pokeball!"Brandon stated.
Brandon prepared to capture Regigigas with a pokeball, but just before he throws it, Hunter J's Ariados uses its String Shot to tie him up along with the entire gang.
Hunter J returns Ariados to its pokeball.
"J!"Ash growled.
"Pika!"Pikachu snapped.
"Nice work."Hunter J chuckled as she moved in on the now exhausted Regigigas. "I'll be taking Regigigas."
"No way!"Ash yelled out.
All the sudden, Regigigas' eyes began glowing red followed by the eyes of the titans.
"It's that..."Denise started.
"That's Confuse Ray!"Brandon finished.
Once Confuse Ray took effect, the titans began attacking Hunter J's Salamence with Zap Cannon and Flash Cannon.
"Whoa, look at that!"Dawn responded.
The four legendary pokemon began to leave the temple together and Hunter J followed after them.
"Where are they going?"Lucas questioned.
"It's just like the legend."Maria stated. "Regirock, Regice and Registeel have become the three pillars that will protect Regigigas."
Hunter J looked at Salamence.
"Let's go to Point C, so we can reconfigure our plan."Hunter J instructed.
Salamence let out a soft growl before flying away.
Regigigas, Regirock, Regice and Registeel start to attack the mountains with Hyper Beam.
"Return all of you!"Brandon ordered.
Brandon tried to return his titans to their pokeballs, but they were not responding to him.
Regice fired Zap Cannon towards Brandon, but the man was able to quickly dodge the attack.
The group rushed over to the Pyramid King.
"Brandon!"Ash called out.
"Regirock, Regice and Registeel, come back!"Brandon protested.
Regirock, Regice and Registeel didn't listen to their trainer as they continued following Regigigas.
"There's a town over that direction!"Dawn warned.
"If we don't stop them, it will be a disaster!"Brock stated.
Prinplup tried to chew through the web binding Dawn while Brandon, Ash, Pikachu, Lucas, Jolteon, Denise and Torchic struggle to break free of the web ties around them.
"We need to stop Regigigas!"Ash groaned.
"Ugh!"Lucas retorted angrily. "What I hate about Ariados is that their web is usually hard to break!"
Jolteon growled angrily as he tried to use his fangs to remove the sticky web on his body.
Brock started to be stricken with love for Maria.
"If I must be tied up it's great to be tied up with you!"Brock flirted.
"Seriously now?!"Denise growled in annoyance.
"Brock may be a genius but his timing can be the pits."Dawn groaned in disproval.
"Just hear me out sweet Maria, the web of love that intertwines our romantic fate will stay tight and taut and never be undone!"Brock declared passionately.
Croagunk comes out and uses Poison Jab on Brock causing the web to break.
"Not without a little coaxing which Croagunk's so good at…"Brock muttered in pain.
"Hey, the attack made Brock free!"Lucas chuckled.
"Brilliant ploy!"Brandon complemented.
"Yeah!"Ash agreed. "Good thinking, Brocko!"
Dawn smiled sheepishly while Denise simply frowned.
After being set free, the gang was back in the small airship.
Brandon checked in with Samuel.
"Sam, what's the Battle Pyramid status?"Brandon asked.
"I'll need a little more time to get it fully repaired!"Samuel's voice replied.
"We're going to catch up to Regigigas by air."Brandon stated. "Meanwhile you contact Officer Jenny and advise her to be on the alert!"
"Yes, sir!"Samuel answered.
Brandon ended the call as Hyper Beams were spotted to a canyon which was where the mini air craft was heading to.
However when the group arrived to the canyon, they saw Hunter J and her soldiers already there.
They gasped in shock when they saw Regigigas trapped in liquid adhesive which bears a striking resemblance to bubble gum while Regirock was turned to stone by Hunter J.
"Regirock!"Brandon shouted. "No!"
"Get out of my way!"Hunter J scowled.
Hunter J tried two times to catch Regigigas, but the blasts were taken by Registeel and Regice, who turned into stone.
"Looks what's happened to Registeel and Regice!"Dawn said in shock.
"They all tried to protect Regigigas!"Denise cried out.
Brandon closed his eyes in anger as the dots on Regigigas stopped glowing red.
"What is happening to Regigigas?"Lucas asked.
"Regigigas is becoming less angry."Maria answered.
"So your true intentions are clear to me now."Brandon responded quietly. "Regirock, Regice, Registeel…"
"That's enough, Hunter J!"Ash shouted.
"I don't think so."Hunter J responded and aimed her bracelet at Regigigas. "I'm afraid it's all over."
"Young man, take the controls!"Brandon ordered.
Hunter J fired the bracelet again now that there was nothing between her and Regigigas.
However Brandon jumped out of the airship and in front of the beam, only to get petrified instead.
Regigigas catches Brandon before he can hit the ground as it dots flowed blue.
"Brandon!"Ash yelled out. "No!"
"Regigigas!"Maria called out.
"Meddlesome fools!"Hunter J retorted and aimed her bracelet at Regigigas. "But it's over now!"
The group brought the airship in front of Regigigas.
Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Jolteon fired their attacks towards Salamence.
Salamence dodged the attacks and unleashed Dragon Pulse at the airship.
Suddenly Regigigas broke out of the gum and deflects the attack back at Salamence, breaking Hunter J's bracelet.
"Whoa, Regigigas just saved us!"Lucas exclaimed.
"Regigigas must be back to normal!"Dawn remarked.
"Yeah, Brandon's feelings must've gotten through somehow!"Ash commented.
"Thanks, Regigigas!"Denise chuckled.
"Onto the next phase men, prepare to attack!"Hunter J ordered.
Hunter J prepared to attack with another Dragon Pulse, but was interrupted by her henchmen.
"Hunter J!"A henchman called out. "The clients have been scared off by all the commotion and have retracted their request!"
"What?!"Hunter J growled. "Those spineless fools! Retreat!"
Hunter J and and her henchmen immediately leave the area.
Brock landed the airship causing everyone to head out and go up to Brandon.
"Oh man, Brandon."Ash sighed.
"They all risked their lives for Regigigas."Denise said sadly.
"None of them deserve to be like this."Lucas commented.
"Brock isn't there any way we can return them back to normal?"Dawn asked.
"I don't know."Brock replied.
Maria got an idea and went up to Regigigas.
"Regigigas, forgive us please, I'm so sorry we weren't able to protect your slumber!"Maria apologised. "But please, they all did their best to save you, so save them! They honestly couldn't have tried any harder to help you, I swear it! Please help Regigigas, please help…"
Regigigas gives Maria a positive respond.
"Thank you, Regigigas!"Maria replied and looked at the group. "Everyone, please stand back!"
The group moved out of the way as Regigigas used its powers to unfreeze Brandon and his pokemon.
"Regigigas is using Hidden Power."Brock admitted.
Then Brandon and his three pokemon were returned to normal.
"Where's Regigigas?"Brandon asked.
"It's okay, Brandon."Ash assured with a smile. "It's all over."
Brandon walked up to Regigigas.
"Regigigas, thank goodness you're alright."Brandon stated in relief.
"Thanks to you and the kind assistance of all your pokemon, Regigigas has returned to its gentle and normal self."Maria explained kindly.
"Great and thank you, Regigigas."Brandon thanked.
Regigigas started glowing blue and returned to the form of an orb.
Brandon bent down to look at the orb.
"Regigigas, I'm asking one thing that you'll entrust your future to me."Brandon declared.
The orb stopped glowing and it returned to normal.
Later that Day...
The gang returned to the ruins of the Snowpoint Temple as the sun was setting down.
"I'm going to rebuild this temple so that Regigigas's slumber will never be disturbed again."Brandon explained as he placed the orb back in it's place. "And just like the legend states, I will have Regirock, Regice and Registeel become the three guardian pillars that will protect Regigigas forever."
"Brandon, thanks."Maria thanked.
"Maria, would you work together with me to protect Regigigas's slumber?"Brandon asked as he extended a hand out.
"Yes, I'd be honored to."Maria answered and shook the Pyramid King's hand.
Brock, Ash, Dawn, Denise, Lucas, Pikachu, Prinplup, Riolu, Jolteon and Torchic smiled at the orb.
"I'm happy for you, Regigigas."Ash responded.
"Yeah, thanks for your help."Denise added.
"You sleep soundly from now on."Dawn complemented.
"Now Brandon and his pokemon will protect you from anything that will try to disturb you."Lucas remarked.
"Right."Brock agreed with a nod.
Pikachu, Prinplup, Riolu, Jolteon and Torchic smiled at their trainers' responds before smiling at each other.
