Chapter 136: Gone With the Windworks!

Ash, Denise, Dawn, Corey, Lyra and Ethan watched their pokemon enjoy the food in their bowls that Brock has prepared for them.

"Tasty isn't?"Ash asked.

"Pika pikachu."Pikachu responded happily as he stuffed his face with food.

Torchic peeked the food in his bowl with his beak before eating it.

"Eat as much as you can, Torchic."Denise instructed. "You are going to need lots of energy to use your moves, if we run into trouble."

Dawn smiled at her newly hatched Cyndaquil and placed a bowl of food down for her.

"Here you go, Cyndaquil."Dawn remarked. "Eat up."

"Cynda cyndaquil!"Cyndaquil cheered.

Cyndaquil happily started eating her bowl of food as Lyra walked forward and smiled at Dawn's newly hatched pokemon.

"Since Cyndaquil has hatched from the Egg I gave you, we know it's a sweet heart."Lyra complemented.

"Well, judging from it's appetite."Brock answered. "It's doing just fine."

"That's for sure."Corey agreed.

Ethan nodded in agreement.

Prinplup goes up to Cyndaquil.

"Prinplup, say hi to our new family member; Cyndaquil."Dawn instructed.

"Prinplup."Prinplup agreed and waved at Cyndaquil. "Prinplup."

Cyndaquil ignored Prinplup causing the evolved Penguin Pokemon to become shocked.

Torchic goes up to Cyndaquil with a smile on his face.

"Torchic."Torchic tweeted.

Cyndaquil ignored Torchic as well and continued eating his food causing the Chick Pokemon to become angry.

"Torchic!"Torchic tweeted in anger. "Torchic!"

Torchic hits Cyndaquil at the back with his beak causing the newly hatched pokemon to do the same to him.

Pikachu and Ethan's Cyndaquil quickly rushed over to break up the fight between Torchic and Dawn's Cyndaquil.

"Now that wasn't necessary you two."Denise said with a frown.

"You two are supposed to be getting along."Dawn agreed.

Ash looked at Dawn.

"Hey Dawn, I have an idea."Ash replied. "Let's have a battle."

"A Pokemon battle?"Dawn suggested.

"Aha, we'll find out a whole bunch of things about Cyndaquil's personality."Ash exclaimed.

"That would be a great help."Ethan responded and stroked the head of his Cyndaquil. "I did battles with Cyndaquil to learn more about him and that helped him trust me too."

"That sounds great."Dawn admitted and looked at her Cyndaquil. "Cyndaquil wanna battle?"

"Cyndaquil!"Dawn's Cyndaquil answered excitedly.

Denise stood with Ethan, Lyra and Khoury to watch Dawn have her battle against Ash while Brock was the referee.

"Alright! Here's the Pokemon I'm going to use!"Ash declared and took out a pokeball. "Grotle, I choose you!"

Ash threw out his pokeball and Grotle appeared.

"Grotle!"

Dawn checked on her Pokedex to see the moves that her Cyndaquil could use.

"Let's see what kind of moves Cyndaquil can use."Dawn said.

"Cyndaquil can use the following moves; Flame Wheel, Swift and Smoke Screen."Dawn's Pokedex exclaimed.

"Awesome."Dawn complemented with a nod. "Those are great moves."

"Dawn, ready to go?"Ash asked.

"You bet, Ash!"Dawn remarked.

"Grotle use Razor Leaf!"Ash ordered.

Grotle threw Razor Leaf towards Cyndaquil, who leapt up to dodge the attack.

"Now Cyndaquil use Flame Wheel!"Dawn ordered.

Cyndaquil used Flame Wheel to hit Grotle, sending the Grove Pokemon back.

"Hey! That was a great move, Cyndaquil!"Ash admitted. "You gotta be proud!"

"Cynda!"Cyndaquil cheered in joy.

"Now check out this move!"Ash insisted. "Use Energy Ball!"

Grotle fired Energy Ball towards Cyndaquil, who again did a big jump to dodge the attack.

"Alright, Cyndaquil use Swift!"Dawn ordered.

Cyndaquil attacks Grotle with Swift, sending the grass type pokemon back again.

"Wow, Dawn's Cyndaquil is actually agile."Brock remarked.

"It really is light on its feet."Lyra added.

"Awesome for it's first battle no less."Khoury agreed.

"I thought Ash would pick a pokemon that would have an advantage against Cyndaquil."Ethan said.

"Well, Ash usually picks pokemon that doesn't have an advantage against the opponent."Denise commented. "That's how he usually battles."

Marill suddenly began to walk away while Pikachu, Prinplup, Torchic, Totodile and Ethan's Cyndaquil continued watching the battle.

"Let's keep it up, Grotle!"Ash encouraged. "Razor Leaf! Let's go!"

Grotle unleashed Razor Leaf towards Cyndaquil again causing the Fire Mouse Pokemon to dodge once more.

"Now Cyndaquil, Smoke Screen!"Dawn ordered.

Cyndaquil used Smoke Screen to cover Grotle's sight.

"Now follow it with Swift!"Dawn ordered.

Cyndaquil unleashed Swift at Grotle and the Grove Pokemon was thrown back.

"Nice one!"Lyra remarked.

"Hold on!"Ash declared with a smirk. "Grotle use Rock Climb now!"

Grotle used Rock Climb to lift Cyndaquil in the air where Grotle hits it.

The Fire Mouse Pokemon dropped onto the floor.

"Cyndaquil! No!"Dawn shouted. "Are you okay?!"

Cyndaquil went back and prepared to fight again.

"Okay! That's it!"Brock declared and walked up to Dawn. "Since it is Cyndaquil's first battle, let's take it easy."

Prinplup walked forward to congratulate Grotle.

"Prinplup prinplup."Prinplup chirped.

"Cyndaquil, you were great!"Dawn stated happily.

"You've done really well."Khoury added.

"Yeah."Ethan agreed. "You were so cool."

"And it was just your first battle."Lyra replied.

"Your worked very well."Denise chuckled.

Cyndaquil smiled. "Cyndaquil."

Prinplup frowned seeing that Cyndaquil was getting all the attention.

Dawn bent down to give Cyndaquil a poffin to eat.

"Here's your favourite poffin as a reward."Dawn admitted kindly.

Suddenly Prinplup dove in between Cyndaquil and Dawn's outstretched hands, catching the poffin in his beak and stealing it for himself.

"Prinplup, what was that for?"Dawn questioned.

Prinplup simply huffed before Cyndaquil attacked him and the two of them started hitting each other.

"You two stop fighting right now!"Dawn ordered."Or no dinner!"

Prinplup and Cyndaquil angrily glared at each other as Pikachu and Torchic rushed forward to prevent them from fighting again.

"Pika pika!"Pikachu protested.

"Torc torchic!"Torchic snapped.

Prinplup and Cyndaquil angrily turned their heads away from each other.

"Guess nothing is ever easy, right?"Lyra asked.

"Hold on, Lyra."Khoury spoke up. "Where is Marill?"

"Huh?"Lyra said and looked around. "Marill is not around? I hope it didn't ran off."

"Here we go again."Ethan groaned and face palmed.

The heroes then went to a field to look for Marill.

"Marill!"Ash called out.

"Where are you, Marill?"Denise called out.

"Marill!"Lyra shouted.

As Lyra checked in a bush for her water type pokemon.

Ethan's Cyndaquil sweat drop seeing Dawn's Cyndaquil and Prinplup arguing again before he decided to follow them, only to discover something.

"Cyndaquil!"Ethan's Cyndaquil responded and pointed at a direction. "Cyndaquil!"

"Did you find something, Cyndaquil?"Ethan asked.

Ethan, Lyra, Khoury, Ash, Dawn, Denise and Brock followed Ethan's Cyndaquil gaze only to see the Valley Windworks and Marill walking inside it.

"What is that?"Ash questioned.

"It's the Valley Windworks."Khoury answered while checking his Pokegear.

The group headed to the Valley Windworks, just in time to see Marill walk inside it.

"Marill!"Lyra shouted. "Come back!"

The group walked inside the Valley Windworks, only for four Magnemite to appear out of nowhere and attack them.

"Why are those Magnemite attacking us?!"Khoury asked.

"They probably guard this building!"Ethan responded.

The group quickly find refuge in the security office to avoid the Magnemite and found the security guard named Benjamin, sleeping on a chair before he woke up.

"What are you kids doing in here?"Benjamin asked tiredly.

"Sorry that we came here without permission."Lyra apologised. "You see my pokemon wondered away and saw it coming inside the Windworks."

"Your pokemon, eh?"Benjamin said.

"Yes."Lyra agreed. "It's a Marill."

"Alright, these monitors will give you a perfect view of every inch of this building."Benjamin stated.

Suddenly two Magnemites appeared and prepared to zap the heroes, but Benjamin calls them off.

"No! Hold on!"Benjamin protested. "These young people don't mean any harm!"

The two Magnemites calm down as Lyra checked the monitors to look for Marill.

The group spotted Marill wandering around in the basement storage room

"Let see..."Lyra started and spotted Marill in one of the screens. "Marill!"

"Ahh, that's the basement storage room."Benjamin admitted.

"Let's go!"Ash insisted.

Ash and the group headed off to find Marill as Benjamin looked at the two Magnemites.

"Hold on. Magnemite, make sure you don't attack them while they're down there in the basement."Benjamin instructed. "Please inform the other Magnemite as well."

"How many Magnemites does he have?"Denise questioned quietly.

Lyra smiled at Benjamin.

"Thanks so much for your help!"Lyra thanked. "We'll leave when we find Marill! You can count on us!"

Benjamin waved and sat back down in his chair.

"Make it quick."Benjamin instructed. "So for now I'll just get back to that nap."

"Right."Lyra responded.

The group headed to the basement storage room to look for Marill.

Ash, Dawn, Denise and Brock checked through where the boxes were as Lyra, Ethan and Khoury looked at the other side.

Lyra smiled when she spotted Marill near a storage box and picked her up to hug her.

"Marill!"Lyra said happily.

"Marill!"Marill giggled.

"I told you not to wander off by yourself."Lyra reminded as she cuddled her water type pokemon.

Dawn smiled. "You found Marill."

"That means we can get out of here now."Denise suggested.

Suddenly the doors of the basement closed, separating the group from Prinplup and Cyndaquil.

The lights turned off for a moment before going back on again.

"What is going on?!"Ash demanded.

Ethan tried to split open the doors of the basement, but they were shut tight.

"Ugh."Ethan scowled. "The doors are shut tight!"

"It's possible that the power surge must've caused a full lockdown."Brock suggested.

"Oh no."Khoury said nervously. "That means we can't get out of here."

Prinplup and Cyndaquil started calling out for their trainer on the other side of the door.

"Prinplup? Cyndaquil?"Dawn asked. "Is that you?"

Ash looked at Pikachu.

"Quick, Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.

Pikachu tried to use Thunderbolt on the door, but it failed.

"It didn't work."Ash said with a frown.

"I got it."Brock declared. "We should wave at the security camera."

The group started waving at the camera, but this also fails since Benjamin was still sleeping in security.

"Do you think maybe nobody's in the security room anymore?"Dawn asked.

"Or do you think maybe he's still napping?"Brock questioned.

"Great."Denise muttered sarcastically.

"Man."Ash groaned. "That's all we need."

"Guess we have no choice but to wait."Lyra suggested.

"What are we gonna do if he never sees us?"Khoury asked in fear and started to panic. "What if the security guard leaves without noticing us and goes off on a long vacation or something?! That means one thing we're gonna be stuck in this tiny room for the rest of our lonely, frustrated and pathetic little lives?!"

"Dude, calm down."Ethan instructed in disproval. "You're embarrassing yourself."

"I think a positive thinking course would do a world of good for Khoury, you know?" Lyra mumbled while sweat dropping.

Ash looked at Brock.

"There's got to be another way."Ash suggested.

Brock spotted a ventilation shaft.

"Ash, up there."Brock said. "Is that a ventilation shaft?"

"That's it!"Ash remarked confidently. "Let me check it out!"

Ethan, Khoury and Brock boxes and crates for Ash to be able to climb up to take off the vent cover.

"Be careful, Ash!"Brock warned.

"Pika pika!"Pikachu said.

"Don't worry."Ash assured as tried to take off the vent cover. "I'm fine!"

As Ash struggled with the vent cover, Lyra, Dawn and Denise were standing at the opposite wall.

"I guess we're gonna spend the rest of our lives here, we'll all get married here too."Lyra declared.

Dawn and Denise looked at Lyra with curious looks.

"I thought four choices."Lyra admitted.

"What are you talking about?"Dawn asked.

"Khoury, he's out of the question."Lyra replied and looked at Dawn. "Hey Dane, is Ash your boyfriend?"

Dawn was surprised while Denise frowned a bit.

"Ash?! N-No way!"Dawn answered quickly.

"So is he your boyfriend, Denise?"Lyra suggested.

"No! No!"Denise panicked as her face turned bright red. "H-His just a friend to me!"

"Ash is quite a catch, isn't he?"Lyra remarked. "But Ethan is handsome too. Come on. If you two had to pick between the four, who would they be?"

"I...I actually never thought of it."Dawn answered honestly.

"Me neither."Denise added.

"Well, I would think that's the first thing that I should be thinking about."Lyra stated.

"The only guys I actually thought were only Ash and Paul."Denise thought with a shy smile. "But I never thought of the idea being married to one of them. I wonder how my life would be if I was married? It is the dream of every young girl in love."

Ash successfully removed the vent cover, but found it was too narrow for him.

"It's super narrow, I definitely won't fit in there."Ash commented.

"Pika pika."Pikachu suggested.

"Pikachu, are you saying you want to go in?"Ash asked.

"Pikachu."Pikachu agreed.

Pikachu climbed up the boxes and goes inside the ventilation shaft.

"Go tell the security guard we're locked in."Ash ordered.

"Hold on, Ash."Denise instructed and looked at Torchic. "Torchic go with Pikachu to find Prinplup and Cyndaquil. Be careful if you run into any trouble."

"Torchic!"Torchic tweeted.

Torchic rushed up to the boxes and climbed into the ventilation shaft with Pikachu to find their friends.

Pikachu and Torchic headed out of the basement, only to find Prinplup and Cyndaquil glaring at each other.

The two pokemon joined up with their buddies and started exploring in the hallway, only to ran into Team Rocket with nets in their hands.

"I hope you like nets, dear Pikachu."Jessie commented.

"Along with Prinplup, Torchic and Cyndaquil too."James added.

"So in you go!"Jessie and James said in unison.

Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Cyndaquil started to make a run for it with the bad guys chasing after them.

"Get back here, cowards!"James demanded.

"Accept your twerpish fate, fools!"Jessie added.

Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Cyndaquil continued running as two Magnemites float forward with angry looks.

The two Magnemites fired their attacks and Team Rocket got zapped with their hair in a puffy and frizzy mess.

"Wobbuffet use Mirror Coat!"Jessie ordered:

Wobbuffet used Mirror Coat and the electricity was bounced back towards the two Magnemites, knocking them out.

Back in the Basement Shaft Room...

"Alright, Grotle!"Ash declared and threw out his pokeball. "I choose you!"

The pokeball opened and Grotle came out of it.

"Grotle!"

"Now let's see if Grotle can open that door."Ash stated.

"But wait, Pikachu just went to go and tell the security guard we're trapped."Lyra reminded."Why are you still trying to open the door?"

"I'm still thinking we should try everything."Ash admitted. "See, I'm not such a big fan of waiting around."

"Ash is such an dependability guy, don't you girls think?"Lyra asked with a hint of admiration.

Dawn looked confused while Denise frowned a bit at Lyra's complement on Ash.

"Alright Grotle, Energy Ball, let's go!"Ash ordered.

Grotle fired Energy Ball, but the attack bounces off the walls.

"Move out the way!"Ethan warned.

The Energy Ball narrowly missed everyone and ended up destroying a shelf.

"Grotle, return."Ash ordered.

Ash returned Grotle back in its pokeball and looked a bit down.

"So much for Grotle's energy ball."Ash murmured.

"Hey! Give me a shot!"Lyra insisted and took out a pokeball. "Alright Girafarig, come on out and use Double Hit on that locked door now!"

Lyra sends out her Girafarig to use Double Hit on the door which also fails.

Girafarig came out and tried to use Double Hit on the door which also failed.

"No use."Lyra sighed.

Ethan looked at his Cyndaquil.

"Cyndaquil, let's give it a try."Ethan insisted. "Use Flame Wheel!"

Ethan's Cyndaquil tried to use Flame Wheel to open the door, but the attack failed as well.

"That didn't work either."Ethan muttered.

Lyra looked at Khoury.

"Khoury, give it a try!"Lyra insisted.

"Believe me, if your pokemon couldn't open it, my pokemon won't be any help at all!"Khoury admitted nervously.

Ethan and Lyra frowned at Khoury.

"You're always so negative, it drives me crazy!"Lyra scowled.

"Unbelievable."Ethan retorted.

Ash takes out a crow bar to try and use it to open the door.

"Pikachu's doing the best he can to help us, but I can't just sit around and wait!"Ash stated.

"So determined!"Lyra remarked.

"Determination is one of Ash's best attributes."Brock chuckled.

"Khoury, you could learn a thing or two from that guy you know."Lyra declared and gave Khoury an unfazed look. "He has won seven badges."

"Come on, why bother trying to do the impossible?"Khoury asked.

"Because it means your committing to try and give it your best and if it doesn't work out, it wasn't meant to be."Ethan clarified.

Ash tried to use the crow bar, but it ends up hurting his hands.

A worried look appeared on Lyra's face.

"Don't worry."Dawn assured with a smile. "A little pain isn't gonna stop Ash."

"Ash. That is enough."Denise instructed as she walked forward to hold Ash's hands. "You already tried your best. Don't end up hurting yourself more."

"Your right."Ash agreed with a smile. "Thanks, Dennie."

Meanwhile...

Pikachu, Torchic and Prinplup find the security room, only for Cyndaquil to be ambushed by Team Rocket.

Team Rocket began reciting their motto.

"Pikachu, Prinplup and Torchic, so glad you're here!"Jessie admitted.

"With a sacked Cyndaquil, we're reeking of cheer!"James added.

"On the wind!"

"Past the stars!"

"In your ear!"

"Bringing chaos at a breakneck pace!"

"Dashing hope, putting fear in its place!"

"A rose by any other name's just as sweet!"

"When everything's worse, our work is complete!"

"It's Jessie!"

"And James!"

"Meowth! That's a name!"

"Putting all you do-gooders in your place!"

"We're Team Rocket!"

"AND WE'RE IN YOUR FACE!"

James, Jessie and Meowth sweat dropped when they saw Benjamin fast asleep on his chair.

"The nerve!"Jessie snapped in anger. "Sleeping through our motto is just plain rude!"

Prinplup fired a Whirlpool, Torchic used Fire Spin and Pikachu used Thunderbolt and sending Team Rocket running off.

The three pokemon removed Cyndaquil out of the net before pressing the controls to cancel the lockdown.

Back in Basement Shaft Room...

Brock then takes out a bunch of cookies for his friends to snack on, but couldn't figure out how to share them.

"Okay, there's seven of us and nine cookies."Brock exclaimed. "So how do you wanna split them up?"

"If nine divided by seven is."Ash said.

"That is 1.28."Khoury answered.

"But how are we going to do 1.28?"Ethan questioned.

"Since it's ladies first, Dane, Denise and I get one and a half cookies each, which leaves at least one cookie for each of you guys and even a half leftover."Lyra explained.

"Uh..."Ash started.

Lyra hands two cookies each for Dawn and Denise.

"Here, Dane and Denise."Lyra remarked. "Ladies, first."

"I feel kind of bad."Dawn said.

"It's fine."Lyra assured with a bright smile.

Denise's eyes widen when she remembered something.

"Oh my gosh! I almost forgot!"Denise gasped and headed over to open her backpack. "I recently made things and I hope they fill up all your stomaches."

Denise walked forward and opened a small container to reveal beautifully made Black Forest cupcakes.

"Wow, cupcakes!"Dawn, Lyra, Ash, Ethan, Khoury and Brock said in unison. "Thanks, Denise!"

Dawn, Lyra, Ash, Ethan, Khoury and Brock stared at the cupcakes in amazement before they each pick up a cupcake to eat.

When the group finished snacking, they were starting to feel worried about their pokemon when the lights started going off for a moment.

"Whoa, now what?"Ash asked.

"I hope our pokemon are okay."Dawn said worriedly.

Suddenly the automatic door opened at last for the trainers to set them free.

"The door's open!"Denise chuckled. "They did it!"

"Pika pi!"Pikachu called out.

Pikachu, Torchic, Prinplup and Cyndaquil rushed forward to reunite with their trainers.

"Pikachu!"Ash laughed and Pikachu jumped into his arms. "Thanks, buddy!"

Denise bent down as Torchic rushed into her arms.

"Aw, Torchic."Denise giggled. "Welcome back."

"Torchic."Torchic tweeted.

The duo frowned when they saw Prinplup and Cyndaquil began fighting over Dawn's attention again.

"Cyndaquil, return."Dawn ordered.

Dawn returned Cyndaquil back in her pokeball before giving Prinplup a hug.

The group went to the corridors and found Benjamin still fast asleep in his chair.

"Excuse me, mister."Ash said.

Benjamin woke up and notice the heroes.

"We found my Marill."Lyra stated. "We're sorry for all the trouble, we've caused."

"I am glad you were successful and be careful on your journey."Benjamin instructed. "Well, see ya."

Benjamin went back to sleep causing the group to sweat drop.

"He sure is good at napping."Dawn commented.

"Come on."Denise reminded. "Let's get out of here."

Outside...

The group stepped outside to find that it was night time.

"Wow, it's already dark!"Lyra exclaimed.

"Yeah, we found Marill and that's what it counts."Ash reminded.

"Pika pika."Pikachu said.

Suddenly, a blinding light flashed and it turned out to be a giant Magcargo mecha built by Team Rocket which was being powered up by the power cord.

"Now what?!"Ethan demanded.

"If we have somewhere to go..."Jessie started.

"We keep going and going!"Meowth cackled.

"Team Rocket!"Ash scowled.

"Oh no!"Lyra said. "Again?"

"Now hear this! Take a substantial gander at the beauty and durability of our new toy!"James declared and the giant Magcargo mecha began to glow as if it were made of red hot lava. "Isn't it stunningly fabulous? We've spared no expense in order to give our machine the realistic but durable look of lovely lava!"

"It's a juice user, but big deal."Meowth added.

"Besides, that shell on its back is the battery pack!"James commented.

"And what's a few zillion charging hours with a dream machine like ours?!"Jessie laughed evilly. "Fire the Magcargo cannon! Bang! Bang!"

The cannon of the Magcargo mecha causing the group to make a run for it.

However the energy pulse of the mecha also drained the robot's battery to almost empty.

"Yikes!"Meowth panicked. "That blast left our electricity resoives at a little more dan empty!"

"All that charging for one zap?!"Jessie shouted in anger.

Ash and Denise stood up from the ground.

"Okay, that's it!"Ash said and pointed at the mecha. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

"Torchic use Fire Spin!"Denise ordered. "Give them a taste of real heat!"

Pikachu and Torchic used Thunderbolt and Fire Spin, sending Team Rocket blasting off with all of their hair puffed up in a frizzy mess.

"We've certainly had our fair share of volts haven't we?!"James commented.

"And all that juice hasn't filled up our tummies!"Meowth remarked.

"If only our tummies weren't as empty as that horribly hollow head of yours!"Jessie snapped.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"Team Rocket screamed and disappeared in the sky.
