The next day, everyone was up by 6:00 am. We all got dressed and were ready an hour later. Mary Anne is always up before us because she gets excited. Marci and her friends didn't care who they can go with.
"Patrick and I decided to grab Dunkin Donuts and have it on the road," said Mr. Spier.
"Okay," said Kaylee.
That's what we did. We were already got to Sea City when Stacey spotted the sign. She was one of my mother's helpers. So was Mary Anne.
"Already?" asked Jessi.
"We loved visiting here, too," I said.
"The girls and I never been there," said Patti.
"You girls will like it here," I said. "I come here every summer with my family for two weeks."
Mr. Thomas stopped near where Dad gets the key and I went in to get it.
When we got to the house, I went to go unlock the door.
"It's nice of your parents to let us stay here," said Mr. Thomas.
"How long are we staying here?" asked Jessi.
"About two to three days according to Richard," said Mr. Thomas.
"They're not going to be here until another week, so it was a good time for us to use it," I said.
"That would give us time," said Mr. Thomas.
"At least my parents gave me a break from helping with my siblings this year. They don't expect me to help much so I can enjoy my vacation. I only help out when they need me," I said.
"I remember," said Stacey.
"I can't wait to see Alex and Toby," I said. "They're friends with Mary Anne."
"They'll like you girls, too," said Jessi.
"Same. We always have a good time when we see them," said Mary Anne.
"We can get settled in before we go on the beach," said Mr. Thomas.
"We always did it that way, too," I said.
When we got inside, we put on our bathing suits and went down to the beach.
That afternoon, we were on the beach when I heard someone calling us.
"Hi, girls!" exclaimed a voice.
It was Alex and Toby.
"Hi, guys," I said.
"Where are our favorite girls?" asked Alex.
He knew he was talking about Mary Anne and Stacey.
"They're over there," I said. "What are you guys up to?"
"Well, I'm here for the whole summer this year," said Alex.
"And, I got invited to join," said Toby.
"That's good," said Mary Anne.
"But Scott's still working as a lifeguard," said Toby.
That was when the girls came to see the boys.
"Hi," said Mary Anne.
"Hi," said Toby.
Alex already knows that Mary Anne have a boyfriend, but that didn't stop them being close friends.
"I'm here with my family and friends," said Mary Anne.
"Are you here with Dawn again?" asked Toby.
"Yes," said Mary Anne.
"That's good," said Alex.
"In fact, we're doing the summer road trips," said Stacey.
"Nice, for how long you'd be here?" asked Toby.
"Just for two to three days," I said.
"Dawn and I are moving to Maine. My father got promoted and transferred there," said Mary Anne. "So, he treated all of us doing it as a finale before we settle there."
"That's cool," said Toby.
"Will we see you again?" asked Alex.
"I'm sure we will," said Mary Anne.
"Oh, good," said Alex.
"We love hanging out with you," said Toby.
"Oh, my family adopted my new brother not long ago. You guys can come meet him," said Mary Anne.
"Okay," said Toby.
She and the boys went to join the group.
"Carlos, these are my friends, Alex and Toby," said Mary Anne.
"Hello," said Toby.
"Hi, nice to meet you both," said Carlos.
"Same," said Alex.
"I also got a few more friends with me, Kayla and her twin, Kaylee," said Mary Anne.
"Hi," said Kayla. "We're identical."
"Oh, boy, double trouble," joked Alex as we laughed.
"I knew it was a joke," said Kaylee.
"We grew up in New York with Stacey. She introduced us to all of BSC girls," said Kayla.
"We came to Stoneybrook, but now we're relocating to Maine," said Kaylee.
"That's nice," said Alex.
"It's not just set up yet," said Kayla.
"Also, I got three more," said Mary Anne.
"I'm Marci and these are my friends, Kathi and Patti," said Marci.
"Hello. Nice to meet you," said Alex.
"Same here," said Marci.
Toby have a big crush on Dawn, but he's a bit disappointed since she's got a boyfriend, Lewis, who is Logan's cousin. Plus, Dawn did not want to do that since she knew Toby was Stacey's former boyfriend even though they're still friends.
"We plan to be in town tomorrow evening," said Alex.
"Maybe we can hang out," said Toby.
"Sure," said Mary Anne. "You can come meet my dad first."
"Okay. I don't think he'd mind anyway," said Alex.
When they did, Mr. Spier approved them to get together. He trusts Mary Anne with any of her guy friends as long as they're good to her. Well, she does trust his judgement. She usually agrees with him if he tells her if they're bad news. They also had a close relationship (even after he loosen up after being strict for years). He always tell her that she can go to him whenever she have any problems or when she needs an advice and he does help her.
"The fair is going to be held right here on the beach the day after tomorrow," said Alex.
"We can all attend there," said Toby.
"Oh, cool, we're in," said Mary Anne.
"Us, too," said Kaylee.
"We love going them in New York," said Kayla.
That night, we had pizza delivered and we decided to eat outside at our picnic tonight. Plus, Alex and Toby get to join us.
"We barely eat out here," said Stacey.
"I know. This is different this year," said Mary Anne.
"It's usually cool," I said.
"That makes sense," said Mary Anne.
"The only time my dad cooks is for breakfast. Otherwise, we'd go eat in town at night most of the time," I said.
"Oh, yeah," said Stacey.
"But your parents would let us have a little picnic on the beach time to time," added Mary Anne.
"That part is true," I said.
After dinner, we went inside the house to get settle in for the evening.
"Thanks for dinner," said Toby.
"Anytime," said Mr. Thomas.
"It was nice to meet you both," said Mr. Spier.
"Same," said Alex. "We'll see you tomorrow."
"So what time do you plan to meet me?" asked Mary Anne.
"How about 4:00 pm? Is that alright?" asked Alex.
"Okay, that's fine," said Mr. Spier.
"I can meet you on the beach," said Mary Anne.
"Okay, perfect," said Alex.
Mary Anne invited Stacey to join her with the boys, but she declined.
"I understand, they were just nice enough to include you," said Mary Anne.
"I know," said Stacey.
I can see why: She went out with Toby for awhile until they broke up last time we came here.
"Do you mind if Kaylee and I join?" asked Kayla.
"Can we come, too?" asked Marci.
"Sure, I'm sure Dad won't mind," said Mary Anne.
"That's fine by me," said Mr. Spier.
"Is there a certain time do you want us to return?" asked Mary Anne.
"No, take your time and have fun," said Mr. Spier.
"Okay," said Mary Anne.
"The more, the merrier," said Kaylee.
