The next day, in Maine, I picked up to call Mary Anne who answered.
"Hello," said Mary Anne.
"Hi, I heard you guys were coming to Portland," I said.
"Yes," said Mary Anne.
"I had permission to join you for the rest of the summer. I'm already packed," I said.
"Nice," said Mary Anne. "We're stopping by at their new house first to bring our things and unpack there so we'd be all set."
"I'll meet you there," I said.
"We'll be staying at the campground nearby," said Mary Anne.
"I know where you're talking about," I said. "I would come here every summer. It has a beach we can spend the day on tomorrow so we can just settle down after a long day from unpacking."
"That sounds like a good plan," said Mary Anne.
When I got the house, Mr. Spier was already there with Mary Anne and the others while bringing in the boxes.
"Hi, April," said Mr. Spier.
"Hi. Do you need an extra help?" I asked.
"Sure," said Mr. Spier.
"We decided to do this way to give Mom less work," said Carlos.
"Plus, we don't want our stuff to get lost or misplaced," said Dawn.
"Smart," I said.
"I know," said Mary Anne.
"Our new house actually have more rooms than we had at our old house," said Carlos.
"It's still big for all of us including Jeff when he visits," said Mr. Spier.
"That's good," I said.
"We do had twin beds transferred here before we left since our rooms are enough big for it," said Carlos.
"Oh, yeah, Jeff and I are sharing one during his visit here," said Dawn.
"Makes sense," I said.
"Hi," I said.
"Hi, April," said Kaylee.
"I live down the street from here," I said.
"That's cool," said Kayla.
"We're supposed to move here, but it's not official yet," said Kaylee. "Mom will find out soon."
"Did they found a house?" I asked.
"Not yet," said Kayla.
"Even though Mary Anne have been helping us with D.J., Stacey and Kristy will take over," said Kaylee. "They can be firm when it comes to that."
"That's good," I said.
"I put him on time outs when he misbehaves," said Mary Anne.
After we finished ours, Mr. Spier said, "Are you guys all set to go meet the rest at the campground?"
"Yes," replied Dawn.
At the campground, Claudia and Kristy spotted me as they came to greet me.
"Hi, April," said Kristy.
"Hi, I get to join you guys on the road trip," I said.
"Nice," said Claudia.
"We were busy unpacking all our new place. Mom got the rest of the stuff," said Dawn.
"And, I offered to help out," I said.
"That's good," said Stacey.
"We can go eat out in town and we can show you guys our house so that we can spend the day on the beach tomorrow," said Mr. Spier.
"Okay," said Marci.
"We'll do that after we eat," said Mr. Thomas.
"That's part of the plan," said Mr. Spier.
We went to Olive Garden. We went to the new house after that.
"Wow. That's a nice one you have," said Kristy.
"I know," said Dawn.
"Big enough for our sleepovers," said Claudia.
After they gave them a tour, we went back to the campground.
