It was the morning of the wedding, as Ruby arrived at the church and entered into the building and saw William holding Susannah, George, Thomas and another tall man, she never met.

"Ruby"

She walked up to the men, "hello, gentlemen."

"You remember my sister in law, Ruby Ogden."

She looks at George, "I definitely remember you."

George gulped, "Miss Ogden"

"But I have never met you, before"

"Oh, sorry, this is Detective Watts"

She smiled, "should have known. Heard so much about you"

"I hope good things, Miss Ogden?"

"Call me Ruby, please and yes great things." As she looks as Susannah, "this must be my niece?"

"This is Susannah. Susannah this is your aunt Ruby" Susannah remained in William's arms, very shy.

"Hello, Susannah" as she approached her

Susannah gripped William more, "sorry, she didn't like waking up so early and has been daddy's girl, since she got home"

"It's alright. You are so beautiful, and have mama's eyes"

"Oh yes, ever since she was born, had Julia's eyes."

"The rest is you, William"

"You think?"

"Definitely, nose, mouth, especially the dimples"

"See, me old mucker, told you"

They hear another carriage, "bloody hell, that's the ladies"

"Sir, please not in the church"

Brackenreid rolled his eyes, "just cause we're in church"

"I was going to surprise, Jules, but Susannah won't come to me?"

"I'll see if Effie can come and get her" George said as he walks out to the church

"Sounds good, and you go down that way to get ladies room" William pointed out

"Ok, thank you" as she quickly walks away

Outside of the church, George sees all the ladies, helping Julia out of the carriage, "Effie, can I speak to you?"

"Is there something wrong?" Margaret said in a panic

"No, everything's ok, Mrs Brackenreid. We are all here, just need Effie's help with my tie" as he grabs it and loosens it

The women looked at each other and wondered what is up, but let it go, "ok we'll see you in the church, Effie" as the ladies walked in the back way

"George, what is it?" As she reties his tie

"It's Susannah"

"Why, what happened"

"Nothing, she's just having a hard time letting go of the detective"

"I see. Ok" as they walked into the church

"Gentlemen, morning" she said with a smile

"Effie"

"Susannah, sweetheart, you look darling. Want to come with aunt Effie to see mama?"

She loosens her grip and reaches for Effie, "thank you" William whispers

"See you soon, gentlemen" as she leaves with Susannah in her arms

"So, sir, who's going to be in the seats and who's going to be at the alter?" George asked

"Crabtree?" Brackenreid snapped

"No, sir it's ok, I forgot to say, it's just Julia and I along with Father Harris. But, you will still be walking her down the aisle."

"Effie is walking Susannah down the aisle, right?"

"Yes, George. If she needs distraction, she has her teddy and blanket"

"So we're all seating?"

"Yes, is that alright?"

"Yes, it's fine. But where the bl… uh, where is Higgins?"

The church door opens, "sorry, I'm here." Henry said out of breath, "the nanny was late, and Ruthie couldn't figure out which dress to wear."

"Didn't she buy 6 dresses?" George asked

"She bought another 4 last night, and she tried them all on. Ended up still wearing dress 1"

"Well, you're here, that's all that matters." William said

"Well, we have another half an hour before the wedding, how about a drink gentlemen" Brackenreid said as he walks to the men's room, and the men followed

"But, sir it's 9:30, a little early and you brought in scotch to a church?" Asked George

Brackenreid ignoring George, as he poured his drink, "it's noon, somewhere"

"I'll have a drink. It's a celebration" William said

"That's the spirit, Murdoch"

Brackenreid pours all the men, a drink, "I would like to propose a toast." And raises him glass, "to the finest detective, I know, remarrying the woman he loves. To you me old mucker"

"Cheers" and clinked their glasses and gulped them all down.

In the women's room, as Julia added finishing touches to her makeup, Effie walked in with Susannah in her arms, "there's mama"

Julia turned, "there's my darling." And reached for her, "ah, Julia she will wrinkle…"

"Don't care, I want to hold her" as she placed Susannah on her lap and gave her a hug, "you're beautiful, my darling and daddy got the dress on properly."

Effie laughed, "where did Margaret go?"

"To get the flowers, from upstairs" as she added more lipstick

"Mama, petty"

"Thank you, darling" as she kissed the top of her forehead, when the door suddenly opened, and Ruth walked in.

"I'm sorry, I'm here. Nanny was late and couldn't find anything to wear."

"Didn't you buy 6 dresses a couple of days ago?" Effie asked

"They weren't enough, so I bought 4 more last night. But, I found the right one for today"

Effie rolled her eyes, "Effie, you're wearing that dress?" Ruth asked

"I am"

Ruth shivered, "the pattern. You wouldn't caught me dead in that"

"Well, it's a good thing you're not wearing it"

"Why didn't you bring, Jordan, today Ruth?"

"Weddings are not for children"

Julia pointed to Susannah, "I have my child here"

"Yes, I didn't want to say anything. But you couldn't leave her at home?"

"Ruth, this is William and Julia's day, they wanted their child involved. If you have a problem, you may leave. Or sit and not say anything" Effie said with a stern voice

Ruth sat down and zipped her lips, as Julia mouthed "thank you" as the doors opened up, again, with Margaret hiding Ruby behind the flowers, "here are the flowers, and there's a card, looks like from the detective"

Julia reached for it, and opens it, "let's see what daddy wrote"

As she began reading, all the girls said, "read it out loud"

"Ok, it says, To Julia, the love of my life, my partner in crime, my soulmate, and mother of my child. It's time for your surprise gift. Turn around"

As Effie reaches for Susannah, Julia does as the card says, and turns, and sees Ruby, "Hi, Jules"

"Ruby!" And hugged her sister as she began tearing up, "oh my makeup"

"I got it covered." Effie said as she reached for a brush and touched up the makeup, "there, you go"

"Did all of you know?"

"I didn't" Ruth said

"How did you ladies keep it a secret?"

"Wasn't easy."

Julia laughed, "Ruby did you meet, Susannah?"

"I did, she's beautiful, Jules. It's so lovely seeing you and William being parents"

Julia smiled, wiping a tear, "did you meet, Effie, and Ruth?"

"No, I did not but heard about them."

"Effie Crabtree."

"The lawyer and constable Crabtree's wife?"

"Yes, and behind you is my cousin, Ruth"

Ruth stands up, "Ruth Newsome. I'm also constable Henry Higgins-Newsome's wife"

"He took your name?"

"Well, I proposed. So it seemed fitting."

The ladies rolled their eyes, as they heard the music beginning to play, as Margaret clapped her hands, "time to get this show on the road."

When there was a knock on the door, "you ladies ready?" Asked Thomas

"Yes we're coming." Margaret called out

"Effie take, Susannah, and here's her blanket and teddy"

Effie takes Susannah in her one arm and holds the toys in another, as they head upstairs.

Ruby looked at them walking away, "will, I ever get a bond with Susannah?"

"You will, Ruby. Ever, since Susannah and I came back, she is cautious of everyone"

"And only is held by people, she knows well"

"Yes, plus, George and Effie are her godparents"

"Well, no use crying, I'm here and we're about to celebrate your 10th anniversary." As they hug, "I'll see you up, there Jules." As Ruby leaves the room, Julia rechecks her makeup, when Thomas asks, "are you ready?"

She nods, "let's do this, Thomas" as they linked arms
