Kyoji LP: 2500

Yuma LP: 3600

And with this, my victory is set in stone, Yuma!" Kyoji declared as he felt the urge to crackle to laugh at the rush of power that he was-

SUBMIT!

Hnn…

He felt a sharp flash of pain go through his head, his very mind.

SUBMIT TO THE NUMBERS!

N…

No…

NO!

Kyoji mentally shouted at Number 66, as that was who he was speaking into his head.

"You don't control me; I control you," Kyoji growled.

"Hey, man, are you okay?" Yuma asked, concern clear in his voice, but why would he after all the shit Kyoji had…

It didn't matter.

"Focus on the duel, not me," Kyoji replied as he looked onto the field, as Kyoji clenched his fist, and asserted his control over the Number Card.

He was the one in control, not this damned card.

"If you are sure," Yuma replied. "Yeah, of course, I am concerned; he looked like he was in pain," Kyoji heard him say as his head turned to look at an empty spot in space.

And Kyoji quickly realized that he was talking to Astral. For who else could he be, though it seemed that he currently lacked the ability to see the being.

"I will then banish to Insect Monsters from my Grave to Special Summon Doom Dozer(2800)!"

"That is the monster he used to beat me!" Tetsuo exclaimed.

"Then I go to the battle phase and attack your Gagaga Magician with my Number 66: Master Key Beetle!" Kyoji declared.

"Why would he do that?" Kotori asked.

"Yeah why would you do that Gagaga Magician and and you Insect have the exact same attack points, they are both going be destroyed?" Yuma asked in confusion.

"No only your Gagaga Magician will be destroyed, as only Numbers can be destroyed by Numbers in battle," Kyoji said as in the clash only Gagaga Magican was destroyed. "I will follow that up wit a direct attack from my Doom Dozer!"

The massive centipede ran up and bit Yuma in the ass, making him scream in pain.

"And with that I end my turn."

"This is bad," The blue guy that had suddenly appeared said. "A fight between Number users, is a fight between souls, and the one that loses will have theirs absorbed. You must win this fight, Toma."

"My name is Yuma, not Toma; get it right, blue."

"Astral."

"Huh?"

"My name is Astral, Yuma. And you need to win." Great, now he had the name of the weird Ghost Guy, who had suddenly shown up.

"I was already planning on that," Yuma replied. "Though not like that is going to happen, I have nothing that can beat that Xyz monster and that Centipede."

"Wrong."

"Huh?"

"You say, huh, a lot, don't you?" Astral asked.

"Because you are talking nonsense, what do you mean I am wrong?" Yuma asked.

"You have the power to overcome this Number Monster; check your Extra Deck," Astral stated.

"What do you mean check my extra deck? it's emp…ty…" Yuma's words slowed down as he actually pulled out an Xyz card. "Number 39: Utopia?"

"Yes, that will secure your victory; only Numbers can defeat Numbers. Now draw your winning card, Yuma," Astral said in a way that filled the teen with confidence.

"You done doing a self-pep talk?" Kumo asked, and Yuma turned around to face him, putting the Xyz monster back in the extra deck. Yuma didn't know what had happened to make him like this, but he knew that a good kick in the butt would put him in the right direction.

"Yeah, I am," Yuma replied. "This duel is over! I draw!"

And he smiled as he looked at it.

Thanks, Dad. Yuma thought as he then he had gone through his Father's cards yesterday on a whim, he had been shocked to find this among them. "I am going to Summon my Gogogo Golem!"

"And what are you going to do with it? Lose by attacking into my Doom Dozer and killing yourself?" Kumo taunted.

"No, I am going to play this, Card of Sanctity!" Yuma declared.

"WHAT!" Everyone who knew shouted. "How do you have such a rare card?" Kumo asked.

"Heh, thank my Dad," Yuma said as he drew until he had six cards in hand, and Kumo did the same. "Now one of the cards I drew was Monster Reborn, come back Gagaga Magician."

"Now, create the Overlay Network," Astral said.

"Two Level 4s," Kumo stated.

"Yep, and you know what that means, I am feeling the flow. I overlay my Level 4 Gagaga Magician and my Level 4 Gogogo Golem to create the Overlay Network!" Yuma announced, much to the shock of his friends.

"No way," Tetsuo said. "When did Yuma get an Xyz monster?"

"No clue, but I think Yuma is now going to win; I've never heard him so confident," Kotori said, and Yuma blushed a little at her words.

"Warrior of light, carrying hope on white wings! Come forth! Rank 4 – Number 39: Utopia!" Yuma shouted as the gate appeared, and from it rose a warrior unlike any other. A being clad in white armor accented by gold, and on his shoulder pad was the number 39, written. "Okay, now I am feeling the flow!"

"You are a few attack Points short Yuma!" Kumo said.

"We will see about that, you damn Kumo!" Yuma replied. "Battle Phase, Utopia, attack his Master Key Beetle!"

"Huh?" Everyone said. "Why would he do that unless-" Rio began but was cut off by Kumo.

"He has an effect that will let him win," Kumo said.

"You are right about that!" Yuma said. "I detach 1, XYZ material from Number 39: Utopia negating his attack!"

"Wait, what?" Tetsuo asked. "That makes no sense, Yuma; you just wasted a defensive tool."

Xxx

No, he did not. Kyoji thought as he looked at his pad and saw the effect of Utopia triggering his own memories of what it was used for back in his old life. And now he is going to use…

"Hehe, it will make sense with this because I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card – Double or Nothing!" Yuma declared. "When a monster's attack is negated, I can target that monster and then make it attack once again, but this time, Utopia's attack points are doubled!"

Rank 4 – Number 39: Utopia[5000ATK/2000DEF]

"Oh no!" Was all Kyoji could say as Utopia moved at the speed of light through his monster and past him as he saw his life point counter tick toward zero.

And then it did.

He had lost the duel.

He fell to his knees, as from his body he could feel the power of the Number Card left his body, the rush of adrenaline vanishing, leaving him feeling rather hollow at the moment.

"Kyoji, are you okay?" Rio asked as she came to his side, just like she always did, and that was why he loved her so much.

"I am fine," Kyoji replied as he got back up on his feet, and he saw Yuma and Co. Looking at him. Though Yuma was the only one who had eyes of concern, while Tetsuo just looked at him with anger in his, and Kotori didn't know what to think. "Well, a deal is a deal; you won the duel; here is his card." Kyoji threw the card back to Tetsuo who caught it. "Let's go home, Rio."

"Let's."

"Kumo!" Yuma shouted after they had walked a bit away from the school, and he turned around to look at this fellow teen.

"What?"

"I know you probably don't want to hear it, but having dueled against you, I don't think that you are actually a bad buy. Just a guy with baggage, and I know the best way to deal with negativity is to be with friends. So, if you want, I would like us to be friends!" Yuma declared, surprising Kyoji.

"I…" He began. "When you can win a duel without help, then yeah, we can be friends."

Yuma just smiled with that damn infectious smile of his.

Xxx

"So what exactly happened, Kyoji?" Rio asked as they sat down on their sofa.

"I… I honestly have no idea," Kyoji said, and that was true, he had no idea about how the stuff that had happened actually worked. "I just felt a rush of power, and then suddenly, that Number Card was in my Extra Deck."

"Well, Yuma triggered something magical with that necklace of his, that is for sure," Rio said.

"Yeah, definitely," Kyoji said. "That Number Card was alive and tried to take over my mind, but I managed to fight back against it."

"Yes, I saw that; what impressive willpower you have, Kyoji Yagumo," A female voice spoke.

Which immediately put both him and Rio on alert.

"Who said that?" Kyoji said.

"Show yourself," Rio said.

"If you insist," The voice spoke again, and then Kyoji felt a surge of wind, and through the open window; a card flew in and landed on the table, though before he could get a look at it. The form of a woman manifested from it.

She was tall, towering above both Kyoji and Rio, she was dressed in a purple cocktail-like dress with pauldrons on her shoulders, and her hair was primarily dark purple with with blond bangs.

And she had curves that could only be called divine, as her ass and breasts were gigantic, truly assets that were out of this world as they were several times larger than her head.

"I am E'rah, Goddess of a bygone world, and I wish to partner with you, Kyoji Yagumo." The being stated.
