(A/N): Hey Guys! So, I'm back a lot earlier than last time. Valentine's day is coming up... ugh. That's gonna be greaaaaat, not.
Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.
Leo
Brooke stared at me flatly for a full minute before she burst out laughing.
"Oh come on, it's not funny." I muttered, although I was wearing a smile of my own.
"It is though!" She exclaimed, squeezing me around the wrists lightly- or, it felt light, anyway- as she pressed a kiss to my lips.
"I love you." I repeated, and she sobered somewhat.
"You're not joking, are you?" She asked quietly, and I shook my head.
"I don't joke about things like this." She nodded slowly, the smile starting to disappear.
"I'm not in love with you, Leo." She said stiffly, squeezing me tighter. "I'm just not. Plus with you and Elaine..." I cut her off, surprising her as I chuckled lightly.
"I'm not in love with either, Boo. I love you, as a friend- it's more platonic than romantic, but still with the romantic." She froze for a second, then flashed me a sheepish grin.
"Uh... sorry? I mean, I just assumed-" I shook my head.
"I love Elaine, I don't think I'll ever love someone like I love her. But I do love you." I kissed her, long and slow.
"I do need to breathe more often than you do." She said, panting slightly as we parted.
"I know how much breath you have, don't worry." She was quiet for a second.
"So how'd he die?" My eyebrows furrowed, and I hesitated to answer.
"My uncle, Jonothan, staked him." I told her simply, and she pulled back.
"Did- Did you see it?" I nodded.
"I would've avenged him, but Jonothan was gone before I could even stand up." Brooke winced, squeezing me around the waist.
"I don't like the thought of you 'avenging' people, it just... it doesn't sit right." I couldn't help but scowl as she said this.
"He killed my dad, Brooke, wouldn't you do the same thing for your mum?" Immediately, I knew that was the wrong thing to say, watching he pull away abruptly.
"No, Leonides, I wouldn't." She growled out sharply, and she didn't react as I flinched. "My mother wouldn't want me to kill people for her, and I know for a fact your dad wouldn't want you to put yourself in danger for him." Now it was my turn to pull back.
"Excuse me?" I asked, deathly quiet.
"You're being stupid!" I clenched my jaw, lips twisting into something that resembled a snarl.
"I'm being stupid? You do realise I don't have that long to live, right?" Her eyebrows shot up, scowl disappearing in surprised.
"What do you mean?" I shrugged roughly.
"When I hit sixteen- no, strike that, if I reach sixteen- I could stop aging. Just, become a full vampire, and watch all my friends grow old- or not- and die around me. If that happens, I'll find someone to kill me." I was silent for a second. "If Elaine doesn't come around that is." Brooke had been listening intently, but rolled her eyes at that part.
"What? So, unless the love of your life decides to date you, you'll kill yourself? What would you do if she did, would you turn her?" I recoiled, giving her a bitter chuckle.
"I meant if Elaine doesn't change her mind about not wanting to kill me. And no," I said, the air going out of me. "No, I'd never turn her, even if I could." Brooke stared at me for a second, wide eyed.
"So, what? You asked her if she would kill you and you were surprised when she said no?" I shook my head.
"She didn't say no... the second time, anyway. It was just after dad-" Even I heard my voice crack, and instinctively took a step back as Brooke took one forward. "Just after he died, and I showed up at her house and started bawling... She was probably terrified." I felt bad about it now, but I hadn't wanted to go anywhere else at the time.
"She saw how desperate you were." Brooke suggested, and I shrugged, having guessed the same thing.
"But she still never said yes."
(A/N): So, what did you think?
Brooke seems to be coming off like a bitch a lot sometimes lately... I should really fix that.
