Chapter 1
"The Grind"
"The fuck is this, Mika!" I winced as my boss, a halfling blacksmith, hollered across the workshop.
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself.
The name is Mika, no last name as it's only reserved to nobles. About 16 summers old and no family. I was a street rat before becoming a blacksmith's apprentice at the age of 10 summers old, I would later become a full-time blacksmith after learning everything I need to know in smithing. The one who took me in is my boss, a Halfling who thinks I was cute as a child.
Unfortunately, I don't find her cute.
About waist high, Maribel is like a child compared to me. But even with her short stature and youthful appearance, this woman is an old hag. I estimated her to be in her 40s by now as Halfling normally leaves their hometowns at the age of 20 to start life independently.
Just like any other Halfling, Maribel looks and dresses like one. A cute and petite body, short brown bob cut hair and a short stature obviously. Meanwhile her choice of attire is left to be desired, wearing nothing but literally pasties on her bare sex and tiny breasts.
Her nude body is only covered with a cape and a hood. How did I never see this woman get sick, I would never know and will just chuck it to her being Halfling and their bullshit physique.
Now back to the situation.
"B-Boss! please don't break that, you little shit!" I screamed in horror as she tried to bend my work.
How valuable is my work?
I don't know because it's the only first prototype Heat Saber I made from scratch!
"Hmm, nice folding and sharp edge. Too thick though and it felt hollow on the inside? The fuck is this sword to be?" Maribel glared at me but honestly, it wasn't intimidating or scary.
It was rather cute but I would never admit it in my life.
Sigh. "That's my personal project so please don't break it and turn it into a scrap." I halfheartedly begged her.
She gave me a stink eye. I grimaced.
"You didn't waste precious gold or Celestine forbid, our stash of good ores?!" I raised my hands up in surrender immediately as she roared.
"I didn't! All came from my own funds!" I squeaked.
" You better be and I want my damn massage tonight!" She yelled before leaving my workshop.
I sagged in relief after she left. If she got angry enough, she might actually break the prototype Heat Saber. A Halfling's strength is no joke.
As of now, the Heat Saber is missing key components. Its inner frame for heating and a power source to heat up the sword at tens of thousands of degrees in Celsius.
Just by the sound of it, this sword is practically the strongest sword in the 7 shield Alliance, even stronger than Vult's massive claymore, the Bastard Son.
So how did a non-descriptive blacksmith like me get my hands of it and its production process?
Notice:
M1 Astray is done repairing. Ready for deployment.
I smiled as once again saw the blue screen that once plagued and cursed me with its existence.
It all started a week ago. Same old day as yesterday. Wake up, eat, work, eat, work, eat, give the little boss her nightly massage and sleep.
That's my daily life routine since becoming an apprentice blacksmith and later becoming one myself.
It's rather dull and tedious.
Not a day did I ever once dreamed of becoming a knight.
Sadly, that dream is not to be.
You see, Eostia is ruled by matriarchy. That means women call the shots and have most of the power. This happened due to Celestine, the Goddess Larentia reborn in flesh.
Being a goddess and ruler of the Seven Shield Alliance, people naturally adopted matriarchy as culture.
Women dominated both political and military positions in our society.
Knights? All reserved for women.
Well? It was done for a good cause and strategy.
Eostia is currently in a war against the Dark Elf Queen, Olga Discordia, who uses monsters as weapons and armies. These monsters normally pillages and rapes villages in their attacks.
So the female knights use their allure and bodies to weaken the monster's attacks. Monsters tend not to damage their playthings after all before they get to the good stuff.
It's also why female Knights dressed very lewdly in our kingdom. Hell, just looking at one of them gives me an erection.
Back on topic, so I was there, wishing to be a knight and be the hero of the story.
Suddenly, this cursed blue screen appeared.
I thought I was hallucinating due to the heat from the forge or something else but it never went away.
Even after ignoring it for days.
Until finally, I snapped. I read the damn thing's text and just pressed accept.
Worst decision ever.
I found myself next in a void, total darkness before three armors of splendid smithing came to be in front of me.
The GM
The Zaku II
The M1Astray
These are the armors of my choice.
Naturally, I picked the Astray for looking cooler than the rest.
I soon regret that when I was thrown into the tutorial fight.
Getting turned to cheese is not an experience I recommend. It was also my introduction to my favorite weapons.
Guns.
"Just die, Bastard!" I screamed on top of my lungs as I descended from the sky, slashing my beam saber (coolest sword ever) with all my might.
Naturally, the Zaku II I'm fighting sidestepped away and took out its bazooka (nasty thing) as I crashed to its last location.
Next thing I knew, I had an RPG headed straight to my mouth.
It took me over 34 times before I got it.
The M1Astray is a light armored unit that can only do so much with its limited weaponry and mobility. For weapons, it had a head mounted Vulcan gun, good to use in CQC range and surprise attacks, a Beam Saber as its main melee weapon, a Beam Rifle (my favorite weapons so far) for mid range combat and a Shield.
For mobility, the M1Astray has a backpack installed capable of limited flight in full throttle, which I totally used to absolutely destroy the Tutorial Zaku II by goring with my shield.
After the Tutorial I was back in the world of Eostia without time passing by, even though it felt like he was gone for an entire day.
The Blue screen or so called G - System, had also added features.
War room
Shop
Missions
War room is akin to a dimensional hub, a man cave of sorts where my Astray is stored. It was here I can Auto repair it after being damaged in missions (later) and upgrade it by adding components or developing it into another unit once it got a certain level.
Currently, the Astray is on Level 1, so it will still be a long road.
Shops meanwhile is a blacksmith's wet dream. Just look at all the ores and components for sale. The Prototype Heat Saber I was building was actually made of Gundarium Ores I bought.
Sadly, Credits (Currency the shop needs) can only be obtained in Missions.
Missions, I have mixed feelings for this piece of crap.
I love it because I get to fight and test my skill as a warrior against other Armored people.
But Goddamn, how the fuck I'm supposed to fight against 4 Zaku II units. I struggled against one, fucking one and they want to fight against 3 more.
Fuck my life.
Needless to say, I'm stuck at mission 1 with zero credits until I Git Gud (whatever that means)
Chapter end
Rewrite of MS: Blood Price
This time, it will be a slow burn and more gamer-like. It will also focus on the Kuroinu world first and won't jump for now.
