After finishing repairing the hole on the floor along with restocking the refrigerator, JJ, who is on the couch, is currently looking through the bills that came in the mail today. Counting all the charged pay from all the bills in his head, JJ went to write down the total amount and then copied down each bill cost so can take it to get his money orders in. When done writing down the last bill cost, he then heard Steven come in with a confused facial expression.

"Hey, baby bro." JJ still had his eyes on the bills in his hands. "How did it go?."

Steven sat down on the couch beside his big brother and sighed. "Aunt Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl's method of them summoning their weapons is a mix of confusion and difficulty."

"Uh, huh." JJ sat down the bills on the coffee table. He looked at his baby brother. "Well, I have been there, baby bro. All three of their methods of summoning a weapon are useless and no good. Especially with Aunt Garnet. Till this day, I have no clue why she always answers any questions with riddles and not just be forward with it."

"I don't suppose you can teach me how to summon a weapon that is understable?." Steven asked in hopefulness.

JJ smiled at his baby brother asking him for his method expertise. Compared to the other three, his methods made sense and are accurate. "Yes, I do, Steven. Simple. For me, if I want to get my weapon, I simply just imagine the weapon that I want in my head and then when I think of it in my hand it will appear. Observe."

JJ put his hand out before thinking of the weapon he wanted to appear and summoned his double bladed sword. "See?. Now, you try."

"Alright." Steven spoke with excitement as he put his hand out. He did exactly what his brother instructed and then his shield appeared. "JJ, I did it!. I really did it!."

JJ proudly smiled. "Excellent. Now, I want you to imagine that shield is no longer there. This is the reverse summoning."

JJ vanished his sword and watched Steven. The boy did what was instructed to him and successfully vanished his shield in utter joy.

"JJ, I did it!." Steven hugged his big brother tightly. "You are the greatest, Bro!."

JJ chuckled while trying not to let the praise give him a big head. "Anything for you, Steven. Now, let's go and get some money orders so we can pay our bills."

Steven let go of JJ and said, "Alright!."

*Two Months Later*

JJ pulled the hot pan of fresh pizza out of the deck oven before taking it out and placing it on the serving plate. Then he went to slice the pizza into its regular eight slices before taking it to the counter.

JJ tapped the reception bell. "One large supreme ready, Kiki."

Kiki came over and grabbed the pizza with a small towel and smiled. "I'm all over it, buddy."

JJ smiled at one of his closest best friends before working on making another pizza after Kofi gave him the raw pizza. Yes, sir, ever since before and after he is in the proper age to work with the Pizzas, JJ has been one heck of an employee. His reputation of being a hard dedicated worker really stands out and puts both Kiki and Jenny's worketic to shame. Which they did not mind at all. They can never be jealous towards JJ.

"I am very lucky to have you on the Pizza Team, JJ." Kofi got done chopping the big dough in fair cuts before rolling them into balls. He looked at the teen with a proud smile. "You are like the son I have always wanted."

JJ chuckled while stacking a few pizza boxes on the racks. "Ah, Kofi, I am just doing my fair share of the labor."

"Oh, nonsense!." Nanefua, who was cleaning fish, looked at the teen with a smile. "You have been such a wonderful help when you were just a boy. Now, you are part of the team and family."

Kofi spoke up and slapped JJ on his back and spoke proudly. "Don't be modest. You pulled my pizza business out of the deep end. You are always employee of the month and year. Regardless of you trying to give the honor to my daughters."

"Well, shoot, I usually work to make enough money to get by and just keep things going for myself. But, now, I work to provide for myself and…" JJ stopped when hearing his name being called.

"Big Bro!."

JJ exits the kitchen to see not only his happy baby brother but also their Aunt Amethyst.

"Come on JJ, your shift is over!. Let's go and do our thing!." Steven spoke in enthusiasm.

"Yeah, nephew, let's bounce!." said Amethyst.

JJ smiled while shaking his head. "Only you, Steven, will be the only one to monitor the time on when my time to clock out for the day."

Steven chuckled. "Yep!."

"Now, come on and clock out!." Amethyst motioned to her nephew. "Time for you to take a break."

"Alright, Alright, give me a second." JJ headed back into the kitchen.

Undoing his full apron and putting it in the bin for dry cleaning, JJ went over to the clock station and punched his time card before leaving.

"See ya tomorrow." JJ waved bye to his friends.

Kiki waved bye before resuming to clean the table. "See you tomorrow morning, JJ."

Jenny, who was sitting on the countertop with her leg over the other and blew a kiss towards her best friend since childhood. "See you later, handsome."

JJ slightly blushed and waved Jenny goodbye. Yeah, it is no secret. Jenny had romantic feelings for JJ since the moment they met. Of course, JJ knows that him and Jenny as boyfriend and girlfriend will not workout. Not because he does not have feelings for Jenny. No, he does have feelings for her but he has enough knowledge that he is going to outlive her let alone stay the same appearance that he currently is. And that is because he has a gem and being part gem he is immortal. The same goes to Steven.

In conclusion the only ideal girl that he and Steven should be with is with another gem. The problem is that the only female gems are their aunts and that is a big fat no. But somehow deep down JJ had a feeling that he himself and Steven will have gem girlfriends one of these days.

"So, where do you guys want to go?." JJ walked with his baby brother and aunt.

"Let's get some frie bits!." Steven responded.

"Oooo, I totally would go for some bits." said Amethyst.

"Very well." JJ approached the fries stand that is ironically beside his job. He smiled big. "Three bags of frie bits please, Mr. Fryman."

Mr. Fryman approached the counter. "Uh, JJ, I am about to close up."

"Ah, come on, Mr. Fryman, give us the bits!." spoke Steven.

Amethyst chuckled. "Yeah, give us the bits!."

Mr. Fryman sighed. "I am not doing it."

"Come on, Mr. F." JJ started making a good beat noise on the counter and sang as he knows this is going to make the man give in. "Give us the bits. Yeah. Give us the bits. Yeah. Come on, Come on, Come on, don't leave us hanging all day. Give us those bits."

Steven sang along with his big brother along with Amethyst. "Give us the bits. Yeah. Give us the bits."

Mr. Fryman sighed and gave up with a chuckle. "Alright, Alright you win."

Mr. Fryman went over to make the order. "You know I don't mind cooking you guys some actual fries."

"Nah, the bits would do just great." said Steven.

"Yeah, I love bits since the day I asked one for payment after helping peel those barrels of potatoes when me and Ronaldo were Peedee's age." said JJ, remembering those fun memories.

Mr. Fryman smiled when remembering those days while carrying the three bags of bits. "Yeah, those were the good old days. I wish you would choose my food business and not Kofi's."

JJ shrugged. "Hey, sorry, but the Pizza's pizzas have won me over. Regardless, Kiki and Jenny have begged me to work with them. Thanks for the bits, Mr. F."

After paying the man the money even though that frie bits aren't even on the menu, the three went the other way to head over to the beach close to home and enjoy their food while talking amongst themselves.

"Man, I just love this particular time of day. It is so calm and blissful." said JJ, enjoying the cool relaxing atmosphere before eating some more of his fresh bits.

Steven nodded before looking up at the sky and spoke with satisfaction. "And you can not forget about the beautiful amazing sunset. That is one of my favorites of Beach City. When the sun goes down the next sun comes right up. Let alone get bigger and bigger as it grows."

Amethyst busted out laughing while choking on her fries when hearing the last part from her youngest nephew. "Yeah, that big odd second…"

"Hey, wait a dang minute." JJ stopped when hearing the last part as well as that is a red flag. Looking up at the sky in the direction where Steven was looking and can not believe what he is seeing. "That is not a second sun. Aunt A, what is that?."

Amethyst took a good look and gasped. "Oh, no, what is that doing here?. This is not good."

"Um, what is it?." Steven asked while munching on his fries.

"You and I are about to find out, Baby Bro." said JJ, taking the situation seriously.

"Come on." Amethyst picked up and placed Steven onto her shoulder and ran in the direction of where to go.

JJ followed her aunt in good speed as this is the first time for him to see something like this. Running into the direction that is close to home, Amethyst has led the boys to where both Garnet and Pearl were. Both Pearl and Garnet were taking turns watching the incoming sphere through JJ's telescope as the two did not like the situation one bit.

"This is not good." Garnet spoke plainly while eyeing the sphere.

"Indeed." Pearl looked through the telescope. "I never imagined that they could get this big. This thing is huge."

"Yo, Aunt Pearl!. Aunt Garnet!."

Pearl and Garnet broke their focus when hearing their oldest nephew and turned to see him, Steven, and Amethyst.

"Hey, guys…" Amethyst trailed off.

Pearl, who put on her upset facial expression, looked at Amethyst. "We saw. Some of us are still dedicated to wanting to protect our planet and humanity 24/7 around the clock. Where were you?."

Amethyst sat Steven down before giving Pearl an honest answer along with having an innocent look. "Went to get JJ with Steven and while getting ourselves some frie bits."

In response, Pearl groaned while facepalming herself when hearing that answer. JJ took the moment to look through his telescope that he had gotten on his twelfth birthday and saw that the thing in the sky is indeed a metal fiery sphere.

"Huh, well, you do not see that every day, I tell you what." JJ removed his eye out of the lens of the telescope. "Wanna look, Steven?."

"Yeah, I wanna see!." Steven enthusiasmily spoke when looking through the telescope. "Hey, it looks like a giant eyeball. Awesome!."

"No, it is not awesome." Pearl explained. "It is a Red Eye."

"A Red Eye?." JJ raised his brow. "Aunt Pearl is that some kind of space version of pink eye?."

"Pink eye?!." Steven had that frightened facial expression. "It is going to affect us all!."

"It is not that kind of eye, boys." Garnet said plainly.

"Oh. So…uh…what is this thing supposed to do?." said JJ, taking a glance at the thing.

"Well, nephew, it is going to come and crush the living surface out of Beach City along with everyone here. This thing is like a living asteroid. It makes contact on any parts of the planet's surface before rolling itself off the planet and bringing itself back to space. We have to destroy it as soon as possible." said Pearl, informing her nephews.

"Alright, that sounds like a big task." JJ looked at Garnet. "I do not suppose that my blasters can do any damage to that Red Eye?."

Garnet adjusted her shades. "Unfortunately, no, JJ. The only thing powerful in our arsenal that can destroy that Red Eye is the legendary laser light cannon that belonged to your mother."

"Our Mom?." Steven asked when looking at JJ.

JJ nodded when remembering that weapon of their mother's. "Yeah, I remember that cannon. It made a beautiful light show to be honest. I remember she showed me a demonstration a few years ago when I was little."

Amethyst frowned when crossing her arms. "Man, if Rose was here it would be a breeze to take this thing out."

Yes, it is worth knowing that Amethyst, Pearl, and Garnet have deeply missed Rose. She is the one that brought them together along with giving a purpose other than being a slave servant for Homeworld. Even JJ misses his mom since she took him in despite who he is let alone what he is. The only person that never had the chance to meet or encounter Rose is in fact Steven. However, with the help of shared tales of his mother from his aunts, big brother and their father, makes him know his mother better.

Pearl painfully sighed. "Yes, I know that it would be an easy walk with this mission if we had Rose. But she is not here to save us. Remember the promise that she made us take."

"We never forget, Pearl. Those were her final wishes and final orders to us before she entered the afterlife." said Garnet, taking a look at both her nephews with a smile.

JJ smiled back since he was there at his adopted mother's pregnancy labor. "Mom was great. Now, about the weapon…"

"I bet Dad knows where it is!. In fact I bet he has it. He can save Beach City and save the day!." spoke Steven, with such enthusiasm.

"That is…a nice thought Steven." Garnet began with unsureness.

"Your father, Greg, well, how can I put this lightly?." Pearl tried to think of the right words to say when rubbing her chin.

"Steven, you Dad is a total slob and a messy person. And coming from me that is saying a lot." said Amethyst, saying it with no consideration.

"Amethyst!." Pearl frowned.

"What?." Amethyst shrugged. "Why beat around the bush?. It is true."

"Well, I can not say that you are wrong about Greg." said Garnet.

"Now, guys, give our dad some credit. He is trying. Besides, he is the one that has that laser light cannon." said JJ, before taking another look at that moving eye in concern.

"JJ, sweetie, I do not think that your mother would entrust him with such an item." said Pearl, in doubt.

JJ shook his head in refusal. "No, Mom did. She gave Dad that cannon to show how much she trusts and loves him. I should know, I was there when me, her, and Dad had a picnic together. Mom gave Dad that cannon for safe keeping."

"Seeing is believing, nephew." said Garnet, before coming over to pick up Amethyst.

"Alright, bet, Aunt Garnet. Me and Steven will get Dad and will be back with Mom's laser light cannon." JJ looked at his baby bro. "Right, Beo?."

Steven grinned. "Right!."

JJ looked back at Garnet. He raised a brow. "What are you going to do with Aunt Amethyst?."

"We're going to try if we can destroy that Red Eye by using Amethyst. Ready?." Garnet looked at the short purple gem.

Amethyst grinned. "Launch me!."

When giving the okay, Garnet jumped high in the air and then threw her arm back and launched Amethyst right at the living eyeball with exact accurate aiming. As a result she hit face first at the eyeball hard before sliding down to fall right into the depths of the ocean. JJ, Steven, Pearl, and Garnet looked at the result a few seconds ago and saw that it did not give any positive results.

"Uh, so…" Steven felt an awkward moment. "Me and JJ are going to find Dad…"

Pearl waved them off while still looking at the eyeball with an uneasy face expression. "Uh, okay. Just stay out of trouble boys."

"Right. Try not to poof Aunt Amethyst when throwing her multiple times, Aunt Garnet." said JJ, before turning to run with his brother to the other direction.

"Noted." said Garnet, looking at her plan not looking so hot. "Oh, boy."

The brothers ran a few blocks and took a few turns to reach their father. They know for a fact that on the weekdays their father would be at his place of business till closing time. He would be either at home in which JJ had built for him years ago when Steven was a few months old from birth or he would be relaxing in his favorite van. Either way they know where exactly their father is at the time of day. The two made it to the carwash where their father owns and went to check inside of the medium-sized building.

"Hey, Dad?. Dad?." JJ went to check the office and saw he was not there. "He is not in the building."

Steven looked out to see the van. "Then, he must be in his van. Come on, Big Bro."

The Universe brothers exit themselves out of the building and make their way to the van. They started knocking on the back doors to wake their father up but no response. JJ went over to check the doors of the driving side to see if he could get inside and wake his father from there. Unfortunately, the door is locked and so is the door on the passenger's side.

"Plan B it is then." JJ looked at his baby bro. "Steven, let's try to get the van's alarm to sound off."

"Right." Steven went to climb up on top of the van and gave it a good bounce on the roof.

When doing it the alarm on the van went off causing a few scuffle noises from inside. Within just seconds a middle aged man busted out from the double doors with a frying pan in his hand.

"Stay away from my van!. I am armed!." said Greg, swinging the fry pan with his closed.

JJ grinned big at seeing his father. "Hey, Dad."

Greg stopped swinging his frying pan before opening his eyes to see JJ. "Oh…Hey, JJ."

"Dad!." Steven dropped down and hugged his father.

"Hey, Stuball." Greg hugged Steven back with a proud smile. "What brings you boys here in the morning?."

JJ chuckled with a brow raised. "Uh, Dad…it is evening."

"Evening?." Greg rubbed the back of his head with an embarrassed look. "Sorry, it was a real slow day at the wash."

JJ chuckled. "No worries, Dad, I get that feeling every now and then."

Greg shook off his embarrassment and put his smile back on. "Well, enough about me, what are you boys here for?. Let me guess you two want to get some good old life lessons from your old man?."

"Well, not this time, Dad." JJ chuckled. "We are here to help us save the day."

Greg raised his brow. "Saved the day?. As in Gem kinda saving?. Uh, they says that I should not get myself involved in anything out of the ordinary."

"Oh, Dad, we need you!." Steven pointed out. "We gotta get my Mom's cannon to stop that!."

Greg looked up at the sky and saw that eyeball before seeing Amethyst be thrown at it, and then slid right down to the ocean again.

"Huh, well, I guess that I could make an exception." said Greg.

"Excellent. Now, I know for a fact that Mom helped you put her cannon in your storage building." said JJ, walking over to the van.

"As a matter of fact, I do recall Rose not only giving me her cannon but also helped me get it into my storage unit. Well, let's go and get that baby." Greg pulled out his keys and get the van going.

Not long as the three have pulled up at the medium sized storage facility as they drove right inside the gated fence and pulled to their desired location. Not waiting for tomorrow, Greg opened the door and pushed it right up and saw that he and his sons had their work cut out. Greg's storage building is super packed up to the ceiling to the point you can barely go inside of it halfway.

"Boy, I really need to clean my building." Greg looked at what he saw. "I never thought I owned so much stuff over the years."

"You will be surprised, Dad." said JJ, having a good look at a possible entrance. "I can not get inside without struggling. Steven, this looks like a job for you."

"And you are not wrong about that. Hmmm, I may need some protection." said Steven, eyeing the obstacles.

With less time to spare, JJ and Greg had hooked Steven up with a soft pillow with a flashlight on top and had it wrapped around his head like a helmet. Then wrapping small pillows on both of his knees and finally wrapping his waist around a long green extension cord to not only help pull him out, but also have something for Steven to tie round the cannon with and tie the other end to the back of the van.

"How are you doing there, Stuball?." called Greg, as he and JJ hold onto the extension cord.

Steven is currently crawling inside the tight and packed storage building and spoke loud enough for his Dad and older brother to hear. "I'm doing great!. Hey, I see a pair of golf clubs!. Wait, you golf, Dad?."

Greg grinned. "No, not exactly, but eventually."

"It is never too late." JJ agreed. "Anything else interesting you see, baby bro?."

"Hmmm." Steven looked around for a good few seconds until he eyed two boxes filled with oldie shirts and unopened CDs. He crawled over there to have a good look. "Hey, see shirts and CDs. Uh, Mr. Universe."

"Mr. Universe?." Greg had a short look of shock that then changed into a grin. "Oh, man. Oh, man, that is my old Rock and Roll career!. Oh, man, those were the good old days."

JJ looked at his father. "Hehehe, I remember you told me about your old career. It never left rock-bottom."

"How right you are, kiddo." Greg started to have a trip down memory lane. "Yeah, boys, it was something back in my day. Yeah, I was not making any profit when doing this after dropping out of school. I traveled all across the country and saw some things that I will forever cherish. But the mother of all cherishes that I cherished the most is when I arrived in Beach City in the middle of the summer. I finished off my concert on stage and nobody showed up to watch me perform. All except for one person."

"An alligator! " said Steven, with excitement.

JJ busted out laughing as he knows that this is not what showed up to the concert. "Steven, you had me there with the alligator!."

"Oh, haha, you two." Greg rolled his eyes. "And no, it was not an alligator that showed up to my final concert. It was your mother."

"We know." JJ and Steven said together.

Steven continued his search in finding the cannon along with hearing his father talk in detail about his life with his mother.

"It was really love at first sight. But really it is like love from space. Me and your mother have hit off from the first meeting and it is the best thing that ever happened in my whole life. Then down the road, Rose introduced me to you JJ when you were just five years old." said Greg.

"Uh, Dad." JJ is filled with embarrassment when remembering that day like it was yesterday.

"It is true, kiddo. You being our lives is a blessing. Then down then down the road, your mother got pregnant with your baby brother and gave up her existence for him to be born. You two were bestest family that I will do anything for." saod Greg, all in deep honesty.

"Uh, oh." Steven crushes a photo frame when crawling and sees that it is a picture of his mom and dad. "Uh, Dad, I broke a picture."

"No worries, Steven." Greg smiled. "Like always say…If every pork chop were perfect…"

"We would not have hotdogs." said both JJ and Steven.

"Hey…I found it!." said Steven.

Tying the cannon up and connecting the other end with the van, the three pulled that heavy cannon right out of the storage building. Seeing that it is going to be difficult to carry, the three have put a lot of effort into putting the cannon on the red wagon that they found in the storage unit. They slowly drove down the street since the cannon itself is very heavy and is scratching the streets.

"Hope the cannon will be alright." said Steven, worried.

"Don't worry, Steven, it will be alright." said JJ.

Greg looked at his sons. He smiled. "Besides, like I always say. If every pork chop were perfect…"

"We would not have hotdogs!." said Steven, in utter excitement.

"Since getting to where Aunt Garnet, Aunt Pearl, and Aunt Amethyst are at, this will take a good minute or so." JJ pulled out a CD case of one of their father's songs. "Let us put this old school classic CD into the player and listen to some tunes."

"Uh, boys, I don't want you to be bored of my old music that never got off the ground." said Greg, with an embarrassed blush.

"Don't be modest, Dad." JJ inserted the disc in.

One thing led to another; the two brothers began to groove into the music and start singing it. JJ started beatboxing to the song while Steven sang along to the music. Greg watched his sons in amusement while keeping his eyes on the road. Without a moment to spare they have finally arrived where Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst are and it looks like they were accepting defeat. Until they saw them pulled off and were in utter disbelief.

"I can not believe it." Pearl is in shock. "Rose has actually given Greg her cannon."

"I am as surprised as you, Pearl." said Garnet.

"The point is we are saved!." said Amethyst, in utter happiness.

The eyeball is getting closer with aggression as they quickly get the cannon aimed at the thing. The problem is they have no idea how the cannon works. Things were getting very uncomfortable when everything around them was being sucked and pulled from that eyeball.

"Steven, you have your mother's gem!. That is how the cannon is activated!." said Pearl.

Amethyst quickly grabbed Steven and made his body make contact with cannon with no luck. "Darn it, it is not working!."

"Did Rose have some sort of keyword to get it to work?." Garnet asked after stopping Amethyst from slightly slamming Steven up against the cannon.

"Uh, Dad, do you know by any chance?." JJ looked at his father.

"No idea, JJ." responded Greg. "But don't worry we will find another way."

"Y…Yeah, you are right, Dad." Steven managed to calm down his anxiety. "If every pork chop were perfect we wouldn't have hotdogs."

When saying those exact words the cannon itself started to activate and transform into firing mode. The Gem, JJ, and Steven quickly picked up the cannon together and pointed right at the eyeball.

"Here goes nothing guys!." said JJ.

"Everyone embrace yourselves!." said Garnet.

And just like that the cannon had fired. The blast did a quick image of Rose and her roses before combing back into a massive rosebud beam and made contact with the eyeball. When it did so the eyeball immediately blew up and got destroyed. Everything calmed down as the skies turned back to normal despite a few chunk pieces of the eyeball having fallen all over the place. One of them have crushed Mr. Fryman's car, which he was about to drive to safety.

"Sorry, about your car!." called Steven.

"I can help chip in the money to help get it fixed, Mr. F!." said JJ.

"What?." Mr. Fryman asked since he did not hear them pretty well.

"Rose." Greg wiped a tear off his eye after seeing that firing performance as it brought back memories of seeing his wife using that cannon of hers before.

"Huh, the cannon did have a keyword activation." said Amethyst.

"Indeed. That pork reigns thing." said Pearl, with a brow raised.

"Hotdogs actually." Garnet corrected Pearl.

"That was fun though. Another job well done for the Crystal Gems, right Steven?." JJ looked down at his baby brother.

Steven's eyes lit up. "Yeah!."

"Oh, no, van!." Greg saw his car being pulled away by the ocean waves. "The van is paid for in full!. It is the only thing that I have left of my glory days!."

"Hold on, Dad, will help you!." said Steven, with a chuckle.

"I am right behind you!." JJ chuckled as well when getting into the cold water.

Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst watched the three in the water to get the van back to shore before it drifted away. The three can not help but have smiles on their faces while accepting the fact about what JJ has said not too long ago. It is indeed another job well down for them. The Crystal Gems.
