A/N: Welcome to this week's edition of "Heart, Soul, and Mind"! Today, we're taking a pitstop to Madam Misterie's hut to finally do something about those mysterious (and freaky) nightmares we've been having. Little did we know, trouble was lying ahead. Read to find out more!
(Normal P.O.V)
After leaving the theater, the girls headed back to Isle 1 and pressed onwards towards Misterie's hut. They had to keep up their guard, since the Devil's goons were prowling around. They didn't want their mission to be a disaster.
After a bit of walking, they finally came across the hut.
"Well, there it is." Natty declared.
"I hope Misterie will give us something to help us." Katie said hopefully.
"Yeah, no joke." Lexie agreed, looking just as concerned. "The fact that all three of us are getting nightmares about the exact same thing is worrying me."
"Not to mention they felt so real." Natty shuddered.
"I'm sure once we get some help, the better we'll feel." Katie assured Natty, rubbing her arm.
"Agreed." Lexie nodded.
The three approached the front door and knocked three times. After a second, Misterie answered the door, happy to see them.
"Ah, good to see you three." She stated. "I'm happy to see you safe and unharmed."
"Good to see you again, Misterie." Katie smiled as Misterie gestured them inside her hut.
As the girls entered, they were greeted by someone Lexie was very familiar with.
"Lexie!" Elder Kettled exclaimed, overjoyed. "My goodness! It's so nice to see you again! How are you, dear?"
"Mr. Kettle!" Lexie beamed as she went up to him and hugged him. "I'm good, thank you. I'm glad you're alright."
"Thank you, Lexie." Kettle said as he and Lexie broke away from their hug. "When Cuphead had told me what had happened, I came here as soon as I could. Ms. Misterie is such an amazing woman. She actually makes such incredible tea."
Misterie smiled a bit as Lexie managed a giggle before she realized something.
"Oh right! Elder Kettle, I'd like to introduce you to two of my best friends, Katie Gemwing and Natty Poke." Lexie said, motioning to her friends.
"Hello, sir." Katie greeted shyly as Kaichi hovered beside her. "And this is Kaichi."
"Hey." Kaichi piped up, waving his paw.
"Hi. And this is Daisy." Natty chimed in as she took Daisy out of her skirt pocket. "It's very nice to meet you."
"It's very nice to meet all of you as well." Kettle replied warmly. "Cuphead had mentioned about you two and your other friends, Liam and Matthew back at the cottage. He had mentioned you were very brave and helpful to him and Mugman."
Kaichi and the girls smiled before they all looked at one another in concern at the mention of Mugman.
"How's Mugman?" Natty asked.
Misterie took a deep sigh before answering. "The same, but I have been keeping an eye on him, not wanting the Devil to possess him like a puppet. And Elder Kettle hadn't left his side ever since he arrived."
She then gestured to Mugman as he was still colorless and lifeless on her couch, unconscious. It was hard for the girls to see, especially since he was the first victim of the Devil's new power.
Lexie wiped away a tear as she choked out "...Why'd it have to happen to Mugs? He's too sweet, too innocent to go through this…"
Misterie took another heavy sigh as she sadly informed her, "If I know one thing, the Devil will target even the most innocent of people he goes for. Those who cannot fend for themselves. Mugman is a powerful and strong boy, but he is very cautious."
"But I can't help but feel we're partly responsible for Mugman losing his soul. Most especially me…" Katie spoke up sadly, kneeling down beside Mugman and held his hand in hers.
Kettle walks up to her and sets his hand on her shoulder, making her tearfully look at him.
"No, no, my dear. This isn't your fault." Kettle assured. "You and your friends did all you could to watch over my boys as they had with you. The Devil and King Dice are the ones responsible for what had happened to Mugman. And trust me, they will eventually face the consequences of their heinous act."
Natty slowly approached and carefully picked up Mugman. She gently wrapped her arms around him and held him close, feeling his weak heartbeat. She felt hot tears sting and slip down her face, her lip trembling.
It was hard for her to see him like this, especially someone so young.
"It's okay, we'll help you I promise…" She vowed as Lexie nodded solemnly while Katie sadly hung her low.
Misterie stepped forward as Kettle and the girls turned around to face her before she spoke up;
"I know you three can help him and the others you all have great hearts, souls, and minds, and from what I've seen and heard, you know how to channel your powers well, even under pressure. I know you can help."
"Thanks, Misterie." Katie said.
"Thank you Misterie." Lexie chimed in. "You've helped us so much along the way. But uh...we need your help with something."
Misterie nodded in understanding. "Of course. How can I help?"
"We've had different nightmares regarding the Terrible Trio and us signing our soul contracts." Natty explained.
"Oh my gosh! That's terrible!" Kettle gasped in horror.
"I know. It felt so real and I was so scared." Katie shuddered.
"And there were voices telling us that it was our fault that the Devil controlled Inkwell." Lexie added. "I dunno if that's a coincidence or maybe God is telling us something regarding our future but we need to know soon so we can make a plan to avoid that outcome."
"Not only that but in my dream the Devil told me the reason why they were under his power was because of me is it something that could in the future? If so, how can we stop it?" Natty asked.
"Hmm, that is rather disturbing to hear, all three of you having nightmares about the Devil." Misterie murmured, rubbing her chin. "I would say it could be focused around nerves and fears but from what you told me they were more real than usual."
"Ohhhh yeah. They felt very real." Lexie said, still shaken from her own nightmare about the Devil and King Dice. "Liam was gone and I was engaged to Dice, and Nat was engaged to Anubis. Kate apparently married the Devil, which..."
She shuddered, thinking about how horrible those dreams had been. She had been so frightened by the nightmares of her best friends actually marrying the Devil and Anubis. It also terrified her that the Devil claimed her as his daughter and went as far as to marry her off to that blockhead, Dice. And losing Liam is even worse.
"Gosh, I hated that…" Natty groaned.
Misterie then added, "And Natty, regarding what you said it does sound like the Devil wants to use you for his plans to get all three of you to bend at his will but there is a way to prevent it."
Natty nodded. "We're all ears, Misterie."
"You see, there is a spell I can teach you that can help fight back the Devil." Misterie explained. "However, while this will help it remains unknown of when the spell will kick in but it will help fight the spell."
"Okay, so what does she need to do?" Katie inquired.
"Nothing too difficult. In fact, I believe teaching her will only take less than a minute." Misterie stated.
"Anything we need to do?" Lexie asked.
"I would suggest for you two to remain here and Aren will show you to some food and beverages. You must be tired and hungry from all that traveling." Misterie recommended.
"Thank you." Katie smiled. She turned to look over at Natty, asking, "Will you be okay with that, Nat?"
"Yeah, I'm good." Natty replied.
"Okay. Let us know if y'all need anything." Lexie said.
Natty nodded gently. "Okay."
"I'll stay with Mugman and watch over him." Kettle spoke up.
"A very reasonable choice." Misterie. "Come and get me if there's any signs of anything wrong."
Kettle nodded solemnly. "I will. Thank you again for taking care of my little Mugman."
Misterie nodded in acknowledgement before she and Natty departed into the next room. Misterie then pauses for a moment and turns to Katie and Lexie.
"You two are free to help yourselves to whatever you need." She stated, motioning to a drawer full of glass beads, colored cords and small gold and silver toggles in many shapes.
"Thank you, Misterie." Katie replied. "We appreciate it."
As Misterie followed Natty out of the room, Lexie and Katie looked over the varieties of beads curiously.
"How about we make a bracelet as a present for Nat?" Katie suggested while motioning to her own bracelet. "Just something to cheer her up after what had happened at the theater."
"Good idea!" Lexie beamed. "I'll pick out the colors she likes and you can take it from here."
After a minute of looking over the multiple colored selection, Lexie picked out bright blue beads, a bright pink one, purple cords and a gold daisy toggle.
"She'll definitely love this." Lexie smiled.
"Yeah." Katie agreed. "Come on, let's get something to drink and wait until Natty learns that counterspell."
While Misterie was teaching Natty the protection spell in the other room and Elder Kettle is watching the soulless Mugman, Lexie and Katie were seated at a table with each a cup of drinks as Katie was working on making a bracelet out of the selected beads and cords for Natty as they talked.
"Well, we got something, that's good." Katie said while weaving the cords and threading the beads in the middle. "I just hope Nat is alright. She seems worried that the Devil's victory might happen because of her."
"I think thanks to Misterie, we've got a good fighting chance. We definitely had good instincts coming over here." Lexie added.
Katie nodded while doing some measuring comparisons between her bracelet and the one she's working on before she continued braiding the cords.
"That's true. How are you holding up?" She asked. "I know you had a lot with the nightmare and your powers and all."
"Honestly, it's a lot to process...apparently I have wings like an angel but powers like a fairy." Lexie noted. "Like what the heck am I?"
That was a good question. With her butterfly-like wings more feathery, Lexie would have passed off more like an angel rather than a fairy.
"Honestly, I'm not sure but I do have to say the wings do suit you with you being an angel and all." Katie commented.
"Thanks, Kate." Lexie smiled. "Pretty amazing that you're a dragon though."
Katie smiled fondly. While she was a bit shocked, confused and anxious at first, she actually loved turning into a dragon. Everytime she transforms and is capable of flight any time she desires, she felt completely free.
"Thanks." Katie beamed. "I was very surprised about it and Natty's wolf form is stunning!"
"I know, isn't it?! I love her wings!" Lexie chimed in.
They really meant it. Natty actually made such a beautiful winged wolf. And she was also strong. They also remembered when she beat the snobby tar out of Dice all on the same day she had transformed for the first time.
"Though if I had the chance to go back and see Dice's face when he saw her, I will." Katie chortled.
"Yes!" Lexie laughed in agreement.
They both laughed so hard that tears nearly streamed down their faces before they settled down. After a couple of minutes, Katie finished with the final adjustments to Natty's bracelet. Borrowing some scissors from one of Misterie's drawers, Katie cuts off the remaining pieces and sighs in satisfaction
"There, all finished." Katie stated.
"Looks great." Lexie praised. "Nat's definitely gonna love it."
Just then, they both heard Natty and Misterie coming back.
"How did it go?" Katie asked.
"All good." Natty replied.
"Sweet!" Lexie exclaimed happily.
Natty nodded as she smiled a bit. "Yeah, it was actually based on a favorite song of mine."
"It was rather simple." Misterie stated. "I am very pleased with her quick learning of this spell. It is a rather difficult but she managed to get a good hand on it."
"That's our Natty!" Lexie winked.
Natty happily grinned in reply. Now that she has learned a new spell that can protect her and her friends from whatever the Devil throws at them, they might have a fighting chance to finally turn the tides and save the Isles from his evil for good.
"Now, since that's taken care of, do you three have time for something to eat?" Misterie offered.
Now that she mentioned it, the Dreamstones didn't have anything to eat since the whole ordeal with Anubis and Natty's nightmare. They were starving!
"Oh! Yes please. That would be lovely." Katie replied happily.
"Sure thing!" Lexie beamed.
"Yes please. We really appreciate it." Natty chimed in.
(Natty's P.O.V)
After eating and resting, we thanked Misterie and asked her to continue watching over Elder Kettle and Mugman before we started to head out and reunite with the others.
"I'm glad we did this, guys." Lexie sighed in relief.
"Same." I agreed. "I feel better knowing we have something to help us."
"And it will work against him." Katie added.
I still couldn't help but still feel a bit concerned. It's true that Misterie had been of great help and she was confident that the spell she taught me will work, but will it be enough?
"The only issue is I'm not sure when it'll work and I just hope it'll help us at the right time." I said slowly.
"Do we wanna do it now?" Lexie asked. "That way it gives it time for it to kick in?"
"Yes, I think that's wise." I stated. "The sooner we get it going, the better."
I grabbed my wand, took a deep breath and began to recite the spell.
***New Song: Into the Unknown from "Frozen II" Sung by Idina Menzel***
Me: I can hear you, but I won't. Some look for trouble. While others don't. There's a thousand reasons. I should go about my day. And ignore your whispers. Which I wish would go away, oh, oh-oh
Oh
(Ah-ah, oh-oh)
*As I waved my wand around, a thin trail of magic streamed out of the tip of its inkwell pen end as though I was actually drawing a line in the air. The line occasionally dropped sparkling magic of pink, blue and yellow as it created an arc.*
Me: You're not a voice. You're just ringing in my ear. And if I heard you, which I don't, I'm spoken for, I fear. Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls. I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls. I've had my adventure, I don't need something new. I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you
*I continued waving my wand, singing as the magical trail started to form into various shapes and forms, including a firefly, a butterfly and a dragonfly.*
Me: Into the unknown! Into the unknown! Into the unknown!
*As Lex, Kate and I watched in awe, I was hoping the spell would be enough to protect us from whatever the Devil might throw at us next.*
Me: What do you want? 'Cause you've been keeping me awake. Are you here to distract me, so I make a big mistake?...Or are you someone out there, who's a little bit like me?. Who knows deep down, I'm not where I'm meant to be?...Every day's a little harder, As I feel my power grow. Don't you know there's part of me That longs to go…Into the unknown?
*The magic becomes even stronger as they form into greater creatures as they move around us. For Lexie, the yellow magic formed into a phoenix with feathery butterfly-like wings soaring around her. The blue magic for Katie transformed into a mighty dragon with elegant swan-like wings flying above her. And lastly, the pink magic for me manifested into a winged wolf landing on a cliff of some kind and howled majestically.*
Natty: Into the unknown! Into the unknown
(ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah)
Oh, oh, oh! Are you out there? Do you know me? Can you feel me? Can you show me?
Ah-ah, ah-ah (ah-ah, ah-ah) (X5)
Ah-ah, ah-ah-ah (ah-ah, ah-ah)
*Then, one by one, each of the magical silhouettes of our creature forms approached us, transforming into sparkling teardrop-shaped orbs and stopped in front of each of us. And just like that, each magical orb gently sinks into our chests where our hearts are.*
Me: Where are you going? Don't leave me alone! How do I follow you!
Into the unknown?!
*The spell was complete. Now as Misterie had told me; all we have to do is wait.*
*End of Song*
"Wow, that, that was something." Lexie commented.
"Indeed it was." Katie nodded. "So how will we know when the spell is in effect?"
"That's the thing I'm not sure about." I answered.
Suddenly, I felt a wave of emotion as hot tears slipped down my face before I started to cry.
"Oh, Nat! I'm sorry!" Katie gasped in concern. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No no, it's-it's not that." I sobbed.
"What's wrong?!" Lexie asked in concern.
Calming down a bit, I took a steady breath before she started to talk a bit more clearly.
"I have been accused of things that went wrong and blamed for things I tried to help and since then, I've been feeling like I'm making things worse and with spells." I explained sadly. "I don't know if it'll work or when it'll help us. I don't want to be blamed for our downfall. I mean I can still hear his voice in my head, telling me it's going to be thanks to me we'll join him and I don't want to believe that, but I'm scared."
"Okay first of all, this is the Devil we're talking about. He's the Father of the Lie, so anything that comes outta his mouth is a lie." Lexie stated. "Second, we don't even know if those nightmares are real, we got the spell to be safe. If anything, it won't be your fault. Like at all."
"Plus you were the one who wanted to get help after you woke up and no one is blaming you for anything." Katie added. "You're a talented and smart person who is able to be fearless like a brave wolf and even if the dreams were real we're one step ahead of him he doesn't know what we did."
"Really?" I sniffled, wiping my tears away.
"Of course!" Katie replied as Lexie nodded in reassurance. "You planned this and are leaving him and his goons in the dark."
I paused for a second, realizing that her friends were right. Despite all the hardships and a couple of losses we had faced along the way on this adventure, we now have a special trick up our sleeve that might give us an advantage to finally turn the tables on the Devil and free all the souls he had stolen.
"You're right." I spoke up. "I'm sorry, it's been a long couple of days, between coming here and learning that we are not originally from earth and all the drama."
"Totally understandable." Katie said in understanding.
"Yeah, I'm still wrapping my mind around this whole 'Angel and Phoenix' thing." Lexie added.
"Same." I agreed. She took a breath for a second and sighed. "Okay, I think I'm good. Let's head back and meet up with the guys."
"Good idea." Katie nodded before she remembered something. "Oh! Before I forget, Lex and I made a little something for you."
She reached into her pocket and took out a bracelet. It was made to look like that of Katie and Lexie's bracelets. The purple cords were beautifully braided with two bright blue glass beads and a bright rose pink bead in the middle. It also has a small gold daisy toggle to secure it into place.
Oh my gosh! Is that really for me?! How long did they made it?
"It's beautiful!" I gasped, accepting the bracelet. "You guys made this just for me? Just now?"
"Yep." Lexie replied. "After what you had been through with that nightmare, we wanted to do something nice for you."
"Now we all match." Katie smiled as she tapped her own bracelet. "And it will always remind you that we'll be friends forever, and we will always have each other's backs."
I felt tears welling up in my eyes again. But this time, they were tears of joy. I then gathered Lexie and Katie into the biggest hug I could give.
"Oh you guys. Thank you." I giggled.
"You're welcome." Katie smiled as she and Lexie returned the hug.
"We'll always be there for you, girl." Lexie chimed in.
As we broke away from the hug, I secured my new bracelet around my right wrist and looked it over with admiration. Perfect fit.
"I'll cherish it always." I promised. "Now, we'd better pick up Kaichi and Daisy and hurry back to meet up with the others."
"Good call." Katie agreed.
Just as we stepped out of the hut, Kaichi and Daisy followed us out. But we were most shocked to find Daisy on a...floating egg carrier?
"Uh...did someone buy Daisy an egg carrier?" Lexie asked, baffled.
"Whoooa, that's so cool!" I said in amazement ."And adorable! She has a little egg carrier!"
"I mean, wow that's amazing but where did she get this?" Katie asked.
"You're not gonna believe this!" Kaichi exclaimed. "She actually just collected some parts from around Misterie's place and just built a ship!"
Lex, Kate and I were taken by surprise by what he had told us. A cute little hamster like Daisy built her own ship?! My mind was so blown!
"Wait...did you say she BUILT it?!" Lexie cried in shock.
"Whoa! My hamster is intelligent?!" I gasped in surprise before I was even more amazed. "Cool! Oh man! The guys back home would never believe this!"
"I'm right here and I don't believe it!" Katie exclaimed. "But how? I mean, this is incredible but how on earth did she make this? In a short amount of time?!"
"I don't know…" Lexie shrugged. She bends down to examine the aircraft when she notices something else. "Wait a sec."
She carefully examined Daisy closely and noticed a small scar on the scruff of her neck. Suspicious, she used her UV powers (but only a small amount as to not damage the smaller and more fragile hamster with radiation).
I should add that on the way over to Misterie's, the guys got me up to speed about her new ability to check if I hadn't broken any bones in my body after I got knocked out during our fight with Anubis back at the theater.
"Huh, interesting." Lexie murmured. "Looks like she's got, or had some kind of microchip in her."
"A microchip?" I echoed.
"How on earth did that happen?" Katie inquired.
"I know people typically chip their pets to track them if they get lost. But she was dumped according to Sally…" Lexie explained. "Hold on, there's a weird number on the chip. 6165…"
She carefully looked closer and the look on her face clearly showed what she had found truly isn't a good thing.
"Guys, I think she was...a lab experiment." Lexie concluded sadly. "Like Pinkie and the Brain style."
"A l-lab experiment?" I gasped in shock. "Oh, poor Daisy…"
It was such an awful thought that someone would actually use a sweet little hamster — or any other animal, big or small — as a lab experiment.
"But Dr. Kahl never experiments on animals right?" Katie asked in concern.
"Not that I know of…" Lexie answered.
As a huge animal lover, it just breaks my heart to hear and see animals being badly mistreated by people who abuse and torment them with any second thoughts or regards for their feelings and well-being.
"Oh, you poor thing…" Lexie crooned to Daisy in sympathy. She then growled angrily. "I hate it when people mistreat animals. It's disgusting…"
"Animal abuse is the worst!" Katie added in angrily.
It sure IS! Such people SHOULDN'T be allowed to OWN animals if they're gonna treat them like that! It's just NOT right!
"It's horrible!" I agreed. "Oh, poor Daisy, I'm sorry you had to go through that…"
Daisy gave me the biggest, saddest puppy dog eyes she could make before she sadly hung her head low.
"Don't worry, we're not gonna let anything happen to you ever again." Lexie spoke up in reassurance.
We won't. We'll make sure of it. Whoever had done this to Daisy will regret it and wished they hadn't met us should we ever run into them someday.
I took Daisy out of her little pod and gave her a kiss on the head before I said, "And you're with very nice people here. We won't let anyone hurt you like that again."
Daisy smiled at me as she made some very cute and very happy hamster noises.
"Still it surprises me that she made that little pod so quickly." Kate noted. "That's impressive."
"Right?! I'm jealous." I chimed in before placing Daisy back in her pod. "Okay, people let's get going."
I got out my wand and was about to cast a spell… when I suddenly realized I couldn't move my hand. As if some sort of invisible force was holding me in place, preventing me from doing anything. I grunted frantically as I struggled to move my arm, but it wouldn't budge.
"Argh! Come on! My arm's stuck!" I cried.
Lex and Kate gasped in alarm before they looked on in anger as we all realized the cause of this just a certain shadow bending fleabag decided to rear his ugly face again.
"Hola chicas...hope I didn't miss the fiesta?" Anubis claimed with a nasty, predator-like grin.
"Oh no! Not you!" I groaned.
Are you kidding me?! That Grim Creeper is just relentless! And he's got a lot of nerve to use his creepy shadow-bending on me to keep me in place! That jerk!
"What are you doing here?! We just saw you at Sally's theater!" Kaichi snapped, his fur puffing up angrily.
"True, I did have quite the beat down thanks to Geco Volador here. But I heal quickly." Anubis shrugged.
Great.
Then, without any warning, he grabbed me and pulled me to himself. He went as far as to throw his arms around me. I really hated this! His fur felt so rough and mildly coarse, it itches.
"Since we're here, I think I'll snag myself a loba escarlata dulce…" Anubis sneered as he trailed a claw under my chin, tipping up so he could see my eyes
"No! Let go!" I screamed as I quickly turned my head away, struggling to get out of his grip but the creep held me fast.
"Leave her alone!" Katie demanded.
But before she or Lexie could do anything to help me, Anubis cast more shadows on them, binding them together, back to back.
"HEY! Let us go!" Lexie yelled as she and Katie struggled against their shadowy restraints.
"I think not. El jefe's been really missing his familia." Anubis sneered.
Kaichi latched himself onto Lexie and Katie, trying to free them from their bindings. He pulled at the shadow chains and went as far as clawing and biting at them. But then a shadowy strand shot up and swatted him aside.
"Kaichi! No!" Katie cried.
Before Anubis could drag Lex, Kate and me away, Daisy got back into her pod and blasted him with missiles.
"What the-?!" Anubis exclaimed in shock.
"Whoa! That's cool!" I beamed.
"It blasts missiles?! That's amazing!" Katie gasped.
"Get 'em Daisy!" Lexie cheered.
Anubis growled as he shook off the missiles, glaring over at Daisy who glared back at him from her pod.
"Did una ratita just blast me?!" He snarled.
"She's a hamster, not a rat you MORON!" Lexie retorted.
"Yeah, show some respect, you hyena!" I yelled.
Daisy blasted a missile at Anubis's leg, causing a comical explosion and him to yell out in pain;
"AYYYYY!"
That caused him to release us and gave me the chance to do the one thing I had always wanted to do since we first met that Grim Creeper; punch him in the face.
"Oof!" Anubis grunted in pain before he stumbled back, clutching his face with his hands.
"You big jerk! That's for messing with me!" I shouted.
"Now GET OUTTA HERE!" Lexie retorted, blasting light magic at Anubis.
"You heard the lady! BEAT IT!" Katie added in as she got out her Keyblade and blasted a fire spell at him.
Both blasts were powerful enough to fling the mangy flea bag back. Hard. He got up, a bit banged up, and glared at us.
"This isn't over chicas..." Anubis growled with a warning scowl.
Slowly melting into the shadows, he teleports away. Good riddance!
"Freak." I muttered.
"The absolute worst." Katie scoffed in agreement as her Keyblade transformed back into its bracelet form and she secured it back around her wrist.
Daisy sticks out her tongue after the disappearing Anubis. Even Kaichi followed her lead by pulling down his lower eyelid, poking out his own tongue.
"That was some nice shooting there, new kid." Kaichi smirked in approval as he held out his paw into a fist towards Daisy, offering a fist-bump.
Daisy happily squeaked a "Thanks" before she fist-bumped with Kaichi in reply. That was so cute as it was wholesome.
"Everyone okay?" Lexie asked while readjusting her hat
"I believe so. A bit startled but I'm good." Katie replied.
"Same." I chimed in.
My new bracelet was still safely secured around my wrist. But my hand felt slightly sore after punching Anubis.
"Wow, never punched a guy like that before." I spoke, rubbing my knuckles a bit.
Kate giggled as she said, "He should have seen the look on his face."
Lex laughed so hard that tears nearly streamed down her eyes. Kaichi nearly doubled over and fell down as he laughed while Daisy squeaked in laughter. I giggled as well.
Anubis's reaction was so hilarious! No doubt the Devil would be pretty embarrassed to hear that his so-called best bounty hunter was bested by an adorably super intelligent hamster in a souped-up egg carrier. To say the least, I don't think the guys and I would ever let him live this down for a while!
"Also, thank you, sweetie, for your help." I smiled at Daisy in gratitude. "That was really brave of you to do."
Daisy happily smiled back, pleased she had been of great help and she has friends who care for her in one day.
"Okay, let's try this again." I stated.
Taking out my wand again, I casted a spell and teleported everyone and myself out of the woods.
A/N: Awww! Lots of sweet moments going on here...but ugh can't beleive Anubis tried getting at Nat again! Good thing we had an unlikely rescuer on our side, our very own hamster Daisy! Now all that's left is to meet the guys...if we manage to make it there without getting captured. Stay "tooned" for next week's edition of "Heart, Soul, and Mind"!
