(A/N): A shorter chapter to bridge the gap between the last one and the next one, and to explain to Elaine what happened.
Trigger Warning: Discussion of self harm.
Leo
When Lisbet and I got home from the meeting with Jay and Audrey, Elaine's owl Lawrence was waiting for me.
"She can't possibly know we went to see them yet, right?" Lisbet asked suspiciously, and I shrugged.
"Maybe one of them sent her a letter after Tarea showed up, and she's asking me to check on them, not knowing I've already done it." We popped in and said our hello's to Jo, Herc and Shari- though we got not reply from Shari as per usual- before I retreated to my bedroom to write my reply.
This letter also carried only Elaine's scent, but bore all of my friends names, so I knew they likely composed it as a group, despite the fact that it was solely her handwriting on the parchment.
Dear Leo,
You don't need to tell us the details if you don't want to- we would never ask that of you. We're glad that you felt comfortable enough to tell us in general, and we want you to know that we're not just worried because we thought you might hurt yourself now that you're out of our reach- we're worried because we care about you, and we know you're going through something right now and you aren't exactly the type to confront your emotions and handle them in a safe and healthy manner.
We want you to be able to confide in us, but if you feel you can't do that, then we just want you to know that we'll always be here for you if you need us. It's good that you told Mia, and plan to talk to her about this again in future, we're really proud of you for talking to someone about it.

I quickly slipped the letter into my lockbox, and started working on composing my reply to tell Elaine what had happened today.
Dear Elaine,
This isn't a shared letter. Only share the information in this letter if you feel comfortable doing so, and make sure you sensor certain parts of it for Lily (for obvious reasons).
I don't know if they've already sent you a letter about it, but last night (Sunday) your father showed up at your house. Don't panic, your mother and Jay are fine- a little shaken up, but unharmed. Danniel was on watch at the time, but there wasn't much he could do because we didn't have a plan in place as to what to do if he did ever show up. He wants me to let you know he ABSOLUTELY would have stepped in if your father had raised a hand to either of them, but since the exchange was civil- well as civil as your father can be- Danniel waited until he had left and came back to the house to let me know.
Lisbet immediately left to take over watch just in case he came back- he didn't- and we worked out a solution. I'm sorry I didn't consult you on this- we didn't have the time, and I didn't want to risk another scenario where your family were left unprotected because we didn't have measures in place.
The next morning, this morning (Monday) I went to your house with Lisbet. We offered your mother and Jay our services. While your mother sent Jay into the kitchen to make her tea, she asked if you knew what I was. (!)
I told her I didn't know what she was talking about- she said that maybe you and Jay were too young to remember what Tarea dedicated his life to (vampire hunting), but she didn't have that liberty. I told her you did know, but we only wanted to protect them, and she told me she wouldn't have let us in if she thought we were a threat to her or Jay ( or you I guess).
We gave them each a charm that connects to a charm each of us have, so they can contact us if they ever need our help. I'll give you yours when I get back to school.
Love, Leo
PS: Your mum held my hand. I tried very hard not to freak out.
(A/N): Elaine: 'We're worried about you because we're your friends dumbass!'
Leo: 'Your mum held my hand and it was weird. Oh also I met your mum.'
There's supposed to be three exclamation marks after Leo says that Audrey asked if Elaine knows what he is, but it won't let me do that, so there's just one.
This chapter has had a minor edit made to it on 26/4/23 - Added the trigger warning.
