It's been a while since I've worked on this. Hey, everyone! And welcome to the next long awaited of The Day I Went to Equestria. Last chapter, it was Nightmare Night in Ponyville and Kaleb and the others were going to Sweet Apple Acres for a Nightmare Night party. Little do they know, Rainbow Dash was planning a really good Nightmare Night prank. What will happen? Let's find out, shall we? Disclaimer: I DO NOT own MLP: FIM or any other characters. Chapter 28: The Ultimate Prank
Kaleb and his friends were on their way to Sweet Apple Acres looking forward to the Nightmare Night party. They were thinking about how fun it would be. There was silence for a couple of minutes until Applejack spoke.
"Hey, Kaleb." She said.
Kaleb turned to her.
"Yeah?"
"I heard about the little contest you, Rainbow, Gilda, and Pinkie had. I bet it was both tough and fun at the same time. I also heard that Dash got very bad diarrhea after she ate her food. To be honest, I kinda think of it as payback for her beating me in that burrito contest last year." Applejack said laughing a bit.
When she turned away, Kaleb glared at her. He then turned to Sweetie Belle.
"Hey, Sweetie Belle. I noticed that your costume looks like a fish creature. What are you supposed to be?" He asked her.
Sweetie Belle then stood and her hind legs and did a scary pose.
"I am the Creature from the Everfree Lagoon! Rawr!" She said, playfully.
Rarity chuckled.
"Actually, this was a costume she picked out at the store. Originally, she was supposed to be a fairy but she insisted on this one because she wanted to be scary this year." She said.
"I'm not gonna lie, that's a really great costume idea, Sweetie Belle. A creature from a lagoon in the Everfree Forest does sound scary. Although... you do look like a mini version of it. No offense." Said Kaleb.
Sweetie Belle laughed a little.
"Hey. I'll be tall one day." Sweetie Belle said.
Everyone laughed. Kaleb turned to Twilight.
"Hey, Twilight."
"Yeah?"
"How's Kohei? Didn't he want to come to the party?" Kaleb asked.
"I asked him about that, but he said he'd rather stay at the castle because he's in the library looking at Equestrian history books. He said he wanted to know more about Equestria." Said Twilight.
"We did say we would bring him back some candy and food though." Spike added, "He even told me about some of the adventures he's been on. I just hope he won't find my secret stash of gemstones that I plan to eat later. In moderation, of course."
Kaleb and Twilight laughed a little. The group were walking for a few more minutes until they stopped in their tracks. What they saw both surprised and confused them. There was a sign that said, "Road Closed - Construction ahead".
"Road Closed - Construction ahead? How did this get put here?" Starlight asked.
"For that matter, why did it get put here?" Asked Discord.
They all suddenly heard a tomboyish voice from above.
"Yeah. I pretty much find that odd too." It said.
They looked up to see Rainbow Dash flying down to them. She landed and began to talk.
"Hey, everypony. I couldn't help but notice that there was a "Road Closed" sign in the middle of the path. And I bet you're wondering why." She said.
"Now that you mention it, yeah, we actually are. Why is it here to begin with? Is a new house or building being built or something?" Asked Lyra.
"Glad you asked, Lyra." Rainbow began, "Ya see, while I was flying over Ponyville, I noticed the construction ponies were working on covering up a huge hole in the ground that was said to have been there for quite sometime. So, I was thinking we could take a much safer path that'll not only lead us away from the hole site, but will be a shortcut to Sweet Apple Acres. And from what I hear, Applejack happens to know it."
Twilight put a hoof on her chin.
"Now that you mention it, Rainbow, I did hear about that as well. I heard Cerberus got loose and started to dig a hole right at the edge of Ponyville to bury his dog bones. I'm sure he's back in Tartarus by now, but that's beside the point. I highly doubt there's another path that leads to Sweet Apple Acres other than this one. Even if there was, I'm pretty Applejack doesn't know about it." Twilight said.
She turned to Applejack.
"Right, Applejack?"
Everyone then noticed that Applejack was shaking and had a scared look on her face.
"Applejack?"
"Are you okay, AJ?" Kaleb asked.
She then turned to the group.
"There... There is... o-one path we could take. But I swore I would never go down it again. At least not alone. It should t-take us to Sweet Apple Acres. I can take y'all to it. But I'm gonna warn ya right now, it won't be easy to walk through." She told them.
Rainbow flew aside and pointed forward.
"Lead the way, AJ." She said, slyly.
Applejack gulped and nodded. She started walking with the others following. A few minutes later, they all stopped and looked forward as Applejack pointed towards the path.
"Behold... the Spooky Path of Terror. A path that is rumored to be inhabited by scary spirits and monsters. Some say that whenever somepony tried to walk down it... th-they... *gulp* were never heard from again." She said, still shivering a little.
Applebloom spoke up.
"Applejack also told me about how she went down it once trying to get home, but then she heard some ominous noises and creatures roaring and moving. And when she heard something behind her, she screamed and ran for her life all the way home. She had nightmares for a month." She said.
"Those nightmares scared he so much, she had to go to the bathroom one time because one scared her so much." Said Big Mac.
Kaleb snickered and Applejack glared at him.
"It's not funny, Kaleb." She said through her teeth.
Scootaloo tapped the farm pony's shoulder and she turned to her.
"Just out of curiosity, where is this path exactly?" She asked.
Applejack sighed in defeat, knowing she had no choice but to show them.
"Okay. Follow me, everypony." She said.
And with that, Applejack led the way as everyone followed her. A couple minutes later, the group walked up a hill until they saw a path leading to an ominous road with scary looking trees without leaves. Applejack pointed forward.
"Behold... the Spooky Path of Terror. One of the most scariest and rumored to be, deadly paths in all of Equestria." She said, still nervous.
"Wow. I never thought it would look so... spooky." Said Discord.
"Y-Yeah. W-Well... hopefully it's not too *gulp* spooky. Heh heh." A nervous Scootaloo said.
Applejack glanced at them and jerked her head forward for them to follow. The group did so. Once they got to the entrance of the path, they stopped again. Some of them had either nervous or scared looks. The path not only had scary looking trees, but it also had fog and some bats flying through it from side to side. There was silence for a moment before Kaleb spoke.
"Huh. Doesn't look that spooky to me. It just looks like a normal path with only a few scary things. Nothing much." He stated.
"Rainbow? D-Do we r-really have to go down this p-p-path?" A scared Bon Bon said.
Rainbow nodded.
"If we want to get to the Nightmare Night party, I'm afraid so. But not to worry. If any monster tries to get any of you, I'll help." She told them with determination.
Twilight chuckled.
"Yeah, sure, Rainbow. That's what you think. But to be honest, if you can't handle zombies, I doubt you'll be able to handle the Spooky Path of Terror." She said.
Kaleb glanced at her and glared.
"Not really a wise thing to say while I'm here." He thought.
"Maybe so, Twi." Rainbow said, "But I can assure you, if any monster tries to get us, me and Kaleb will take care of them big time."
She turned to Kaleb.
"Right, Kaleb?"
Kaleb nodded.
"Yeah. If I took on the timberwolves, I'm sure I can handle a few monsters." He said as he cracked his knuckles.
Derpy tapped Pinkie's shoulder.
"He took on the timberwolves and lived?" She asked, surprise.
"We'll tell you later." Said Pinkie with a wink.
Rarity got a sly look.
"Well, Rainbow Dash, if you think you can handle it and protect us along with Kaleb, then lead the way." She said.
Rainbow nodded.
"With pleasure." She said.
The group started walking. Gilda nudged Kaleb's shoulder and he glanced at her.
"Ten bits says she gets scared and flies away while crapping herself at the same time." She whispered.
Kaleb chuckled.
"Y'know Gilda, normally that would piss me off, but that would be kinda funny to watch in all honesty." He said.
While the group was walking, Rainbow smirked and landed on the ground. She started walking backwards.
It's close to midnight
And something evil's lurking from the dark
Before they knew it, Rainbow walked into the fog and disappeared. Everyone looked around for her.
"Hey. Wh-Where did Rainbow go?" Scootaloo asked, now a bit nervous.
"I'm not sure, Scootaloo." Said Twilight.
"Let's just stick together, everyone." Applejack said, now frightened.
Unbeknownst to them, while they were walking through the fog, Rainbow was flying above them out of sight. She was flying in front of the moon.
Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
Through the fog, the group could see what looked like some kind of creature with bat-like features looking at them with red glowing eyes. Once it saw them, it let out a loud roar which caused everyone to scream and run forward while getting out of the creature's way.
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
After running away, they were all shaking and walking fast.
"Wh-What in Equestria was that?!" Fluttershy asked.
"I don't know. But it looked like a g-g-g-giant b-b-b-bat." Said a now scared Lyra.
You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is Thriller, Thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike

Suddenly, the group heard what sounded like a door slamming very loudly and they turned around but there was no one there.
Ooh, Ooh
You hear the door slam
And realize there's nowhere left to run
Derpy felt something touch her shoulder and slowly turned around. When she did she froze in horror. She whimpered as she tried to get the group's attention.
"G-Guys... L-L-Look!" She cried.
In an instant, they all turned around to see what Derpy was looking at. When they did, what they saw made their eyes bulge in horror. They saw what looked like a half pony, half fish creature staring down at them, growling. Then before they knew it, the creature roared very powerfully.
"I-I-I-It's the... Creature from the Everfree Lagoon! Run for your lives!" Sweetie Belle yelled.
Everyone screamed and ran past the creature. Little did they know, Rainbow was above them, snickering a little. After that she quickly and quietly flew after them. After running a few miles, the group stopped to catch their breath. After that, they continued on their way.
You feel the cold hoof
And wonder if you'll ever see the sun
You close your eyes
And hope that this is just imagination
"Th-That was the Creature from the Everfree Lagoon... THAT WAS THE CREATURE FROM THE EVERFREE LAGOON!!!!" Pinkie yelled.
"I... I didn't think that thing was real." Twilight said, "I thought it was just a movie monster."
"Then why did we see the real livin' and breathin' thing in front of us?! Not to mention, it roared in our faces." Applebloom said, shaking a little.
They then heard a howl in the distance. By now they were getting pretty scared. Even Kaleb.
"L-Let's just... try to keep our heads together. We'll be alright." He said, trying to calm the group down even though he was getting scared as well.
But all the while
You hear a creature creeping up behind
You're out of time
When they heard the howl get louder and louder, they all sprinted away in hopes of avoiding the creature that was doing the howling.

There ain't no second chance against the thing with the forty eyes now

You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight
The group came to a stop when they saw something else. They saw what looked like ghosts walking and floating towards and past them while making ominous sounds. They just stood there, frozen with fear.
Night creatures call
And the dead start to walk in their masquerade
After the ghosts, they thought they were safe and continued on their way. Before they could keep moving, something jumped out in front of them. They stared wide-eyed in horror as they saw what it was. It was a huge pony-like creature except it had three eyes, green scaly skin, and sharp teeth. It pointed a laser gun at them as it hissed. Instinctively, Kaleb pushed the creature down and turned to his friends.
"Now's our chance! Let's move it!" He ordered.
The group then ran past the creature. After that, they started walking again after getting a safe distance from it.
There's no escaping the jaws of the alien this time
(they're open wide)
This is the end of your life, ooh
pant* *pant* "Okay. What was that thing? Some kind of alien or something?" Rarity asked, now out of breath.
"It probably was because it had a freaking laser gun." Said Gilda.
"I have to admit it was kinda cool but terrifying at the same time." Scootaloo said.
Suddenly, they all heard terrifying noises behind them and screamed. They started running again.
They're out to get you
There's demons closin' in on every side
They will possess you
Unless you change that number on your dial
They all looked behind to see no monsters chasing them. But while they were running, they stopped and saw a large hairy bipedal creature. It was seven feet tall. Spike pointed at it.
"S-S-S-S-S-SASQUATCH!!!!!!" He screamed in terror.
The beast howled and the group darted away. While they were running, they heard shriek up above. They looked up and to their horror, it was some kind of half griffon, half owl demon about to swoop down upon them.
Now is the time
For you and I to fight these foes together
All through the night
I'll save you from the terror on the scene
I'll make you see
Rainbow was still high above the group watching the whole event. She then flew on her back while going forward.
That this is Thriller, Thriller night

The group finally lost the creature, but they were still running for their lives. Thankfully for them, they saw Sweet Apple Acres up ahead. Once they got to the farm, the decide to try to hide from the creatures in the barn. Little did they know, Rainbow already beat them there.

So let me hold you tight and share a killer, thriller, ow
Once the group got inside the barn, the group stopped to catch their breath.
"Okay... I think... we lost those monsters." Kaleb said.
"Let's just... hope so." Said Twilight.
They heard a tomboyish voice in front of them.
"Heya, Guys." It said.
They looked forward to see Rainbow Dash with a smile on her face as she greeted them. She started to walk towards them a bit and stopped.
"Rainbow! Thank Celestia you're here." Sweetie Belle said with relief.
"Yeah. I heard you all screaming and running through the Spooky Path of Terror. I'm sorry I wasn't there to help." Rainbow said, feeling a little guilty.
"It's alright, Dash. We managed to get a way without a single scratch. One thing's for sure, they don't call it 'the Spooky Path of Terror' for nothing." Said Kaleb.
The pegasus then took out what looked like a jar with a mysterious ominous looking pink liquid in it. She opened it and got a whiff. It smelled kind of funny. Twilight was a little nervous when she saw that. What made her even more scared was seeing Rainbow guzzle it all down. After she did so, she wiped the liquid off of her face and burped.
"Excuse me."
All of a sudden, Rainbow then started to feel funny. She dropped the jar and started convulsing and twitching on the ground as if she were in pain. Finally, she passes out. Everyone was in shock. They carefully walked over to the unconscious pegasus.
"Um... Dashie? Are you okay?" Pinkie asked.
All of a sudden, Rainbow started twitching as she was slowly getting up. She had her head down. Everyone was relieved. Especially Scootaloo.
"Rainbow! You're alright!" She said as she got a little close to her.
But just as she was about to hug her, Rainbow's eyes opened and they were crimson red with no pupils. And she had sharp, pointy teeth. She also had bat-like wings instead of her usual ones. Everyone screamed and tried to run the other way, but they were cornered by the monsters they ran into earlier. They were pretty much trapped like rats. They backed away from the creatures and turned to Rainbow who was flying in the air with her forelegs held up high. She also wore an evil grin. Just then, she started talking in a Vincent Price-like voice while also falling in and out of her normal voice.
I'm gonna thrill you tonight
Darkness falls across the land
Midnight hour is close at hoof
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'all's neighborhood (I'm gonna thrill you tonight)
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of Hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell
The monsters and the possessed Rainbow Dash were closing in on the group who were shaking with fear.

Before the group knew it, the monsters and Rainbow had them with no escape. The closed their eyes as they prepared to die.
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the Thriller
The possessed pegasus let out a long evil laugh as she look down at the others with murder in her eyes. She got close to the scared group.
"P-Please, Rainbow. D-D-Don't kill us. We'll do anything. Anything!" Twilight cried.
Rainbow thought about it for a second.
"Well, before I spare you, there is one thing I would like to say first." She said in her Vincent Price-like voice.
"Yeah? Wh-What?" *gulp* Asked Spike.
For a minute, there was silence. All of a sudden, the pegasus turned around. She then quickly turned back to the others only her voice and face were normal.
"GOTCHA!"
They were all surprised and confused until they heard laughter from Rainbow and from behind them. The monsters then grabbed their heads and took them off, revealing to be other creatures wearing masks and costumes. The bat-like creature was revealed to be a pink female hippogriff. The Creature From the Everfree Lagoon was revealed to be a female orange dragon with a purple frill and horns on top of her head. The alien was revealed to be a yellow earth pony. The sasquatch was revealed to be an big anthropomorphic panda. And the owl demon was revealed to be a blue griffon with a tan belly. Twilight instantly recognized all of them but the panda.
"Gallus? Sandbar? Silverstream? Smolder? You guys were in on this too?" She asked, still shocked.
Gallus laughed a bit.
"Heh heh. We got you good, Headmare Twilight. You see, after learning that you scared Professor Rainbow Dash with a zombie prank, she decided to do her own scary prank to get back at you. And it would make sense because it's Nightmare Night and all." He said.
"We also thought you went too far with your prank. I mean, c'mon. I know she went kinda far with her pranks, but that didn't mean you had to scare the living crap out of her." Said Smolder.
The panda then spoke up.
"Yeah, I mean... the least you could've done was tell her to stop. Then maybe, just maybe, she would have." He said.
Kaleb spoke up.
"Woah woah woah! Hold the phone. Did I just hear that right? You guys scared Rainbow half to death because she was simply pulling pranks on you? Are you serious?" He asked, a little disappointed but angry at the same time.
Everyone except Discord and Gilda nodded while hanging their heads, now feeling guilty.
"Yes, we did. But that was only because we wanted her to be nice with her pranks. We were just trying to teach her a lesson." Twilight said, defensively.
Kaleb closed his eyes and shook his head.
"I can't believe you guys." He said, "I just can't believe you would do something so... so... cruel. And for what?! All because she went prank crazy? In all honesty, I find it really REALLY hypocritical that you didn't like Rainbow pranking you yet you pull the stunt you did just to teach her a 'lesson'. And I use the word 'lesson' very loosely. Shit, do you even realize about what you possibly could've done with your actions? They would possibly cause Rainbow to have one of two things; either A, nightmares or B, a flipping heart attack! Did any of you ever stop and think that maybe she was just trying to have fun and maybe why she did those pranks was because she liked you? Didn't you ever think of that?"
The ponies and Spike looked at each other with regretful looks then turned back to the furious boy.
"No I... I guess we didn't." Spike said, rubbing his arm.
"No you didn't." Kaleb said, "Now I will admit; she shouldn't have gone far with her pranks. However, that is no excuse for almost scaring her to death. And I know you probably don't wanna hear this but I'm gonna say it anyway, I see this as karma for what you did to her. All except for Gilda and Discord, of course."
"So, what you're saying is in a way, we kind of deserved it?" Fluttershy asked.
Kaleb nodded.
"Yeah. In a way, you did. And I also think you owe Rainbow a long overdue apology." He said.
Applejack sighed in defeat.
sigh* "As much as I hate to admit it... He's right." She said.
Everyone except Kaleb, Discord, and Gilda, and the pranksters looked at Rainbow with apologetic looks.
"We're sorry, Rainbow Dash." They all said.
"It's alright, everypony. I forgive you. Although I have to admit, my prank was very scary and creative, right?" Asked Rainbow.
Everyone's faces eventually brightened.
"Yeah! Especially that trick with the ghosts. How did you do that?" Scootaloo asked.
"Oh, nothing much. I just used a movie projector. The theater let me borrow it for tonight." Said Rainbow.
Kaleb looked at the panda.
"And that was a really great sasquatch costume, Po." He said.
Po chuckled.
"Heh heh heh. Thanks, dude. I made it myself." He said.
"Now I have to admit, I'm sorry for scaring all of you. But still... you all should've seen your faces!" Rainbow said.
Gilda laughed a bit.
"Yeah, Dash. You'll had us goin'." She said.
Everyone laughed. Just then, Kaleb got an idea. He got a mischievous look on his face. Without Gilda knowing, he quickly pulled out one of her feathers. Gilda said "Ow!" and rubbed her neck. Hearing that, Scootaloo turned to her.
"Are you okay, Gilda?" She asked.
"I'm fine, kid. Just felt a little sting in my neck, that's all." Assured Gilda.
Kaleb put the feather in his pocket and walked over to Rainbow.
"Hey, Dash. I've been thinking; as a reward for getting even with the others, I'm going to give you something."
The pegasus' face brightend.
"Really? What kind of reward is it?" She asked.
"Oh, you'll see. Just close your eyes." Kaleb told her.
Rainbow did as she was told. As soon as her eyes were closed, Kaleb pulled out her feather and brought it close to her belly. He snickered a little bit.
"Ooh, I can't wait to what the reward is!" Rainbow said in anticipation.
"And your reward is... THIS!"
Before Rainbow knew it, she felt something tickle her belly and busted out laughing right then and there. She was laughing so much she fell back on the ground. Kaleb knelt to her height and continued tickling her.
"HAHAHAHAHA! KALEB, STOP! HEEHEEHEE! THAT REALLY TICKLES! HAHAHA!" She laughed.
"Are you really sorry?" Kaleb asked, slyly.
"YEAH! HAHAHA! I GIVE! YOU WIN, YOU WIN!"
"Thank you. All is forgiven."
Kaleb stopped tickling Rainbow as she stopped laughing to catch her breath. She looked up at Kaleb with a playful smirk.
"Kaleb... You're such a goofball." She told him.
Kaleb chuckled.
"Heh heh. So are you." He told her.
Everyone laughed.
...
A little while later, the Nightmare Night party went in full swing. They all played party games, sang karaoke, and dance as well as eat some really good food. Po even got to introduce himself to everyone. Kaleb was drinking some Pona-Cola when he saw Rainbow, Gilda, Gallus, and Pinkie walking towards him.
"Hey, guys. How goes it?" He asked.
"Super-duper swingin' as always." Said Pinkie.
Gallus walked towards Kaleb.
"So, you're Kaleb, right?" He asked.
Kaleb nodded.
"That's right." He replied.
"Gilda's told me a lot about you. She calls you the wolf boy."
"Heh heh. Yeah. She loves to call me that."
Gilda laughed a bit.
"I sure do. By the by, how's your shoulder since we got it fixed at the hospital?" She asked.
"Oh, it's great. Sure, there's a permanent scar on it, but that's okay. I'm just grateful it's closed again." Replied Kaleb.
"Also, where did you get the feather you tickled me with?" Rainbow asked.
"That my friend, is a super wolfy secret. One I'm not ever going to tell." Kaleb said with a cocky smile.
"Well we were just wondering because for some reason I got a pain in my neck and... wait a minute..." Gilda said as she thought about where Kaleb got the feather.
The griffon put two and two together and looked at Kaleb angrily. Gallus, Rainbow, and Pinkie got scared looks.
"Um... Heh heh... Why are you looking at me like that?" Kaleb asked, nervously.
"Wolf boy... Did you pull out one of my feathers?!" Yelled Gilda.
"Um, Kaleb. I probably should have told you this about Gilda... but... she really REALLY hates it when someone pulls out one of her feathers." Rainbow said.
"WHAT?! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Well, you didn't ask."
"HA! You admit it!" Gilda said as she pointed at the boy.
"Wh-What are going to d-do?" Kaleb asked, now scared.
Gilda balled up her fist and showed it to him.
"Since you're my friend, I'm not gonna kick your butt. I am however, gonna give you the noogie of a lifetime!" She said with a smirk.
Kaleb then looked to his right.
"Oh my gosh! Is that a strawberry ice cream cake over at the food table?" He said.
Gilda's face brightend.
"Ooh! A strawberry ice cream cake?! Where?!" She asked as she turned away from Kaleb who ran away.
She then got a look of realization and began turning back around.
"Wait a sec, strawberry ice cream cakes aren't usually served at-"
When she did, she noticed that Kaleb wasn't there. She turned to her right and saw him running away.
"You'll never take me alive!!!!" Kaleb yelled back in the distance.
Gilda growled in anger. She flew up in the air.
"GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW, YOU FEATHER PULLIN' SON OF A BITCH!!!!!" She yelled.
Before the other griffon and two ponies knew it, Gilda took off after Kaleb.
"Um, Dashie... Shouldn't we help?" Pinkie asked.
Rainbow smiled.

All three of them laughed.
Author's Note: Whew! That was a long one. Forgive me if it was too long. It took me a few weeks, but I finally got it done. I also thought I'd do Kaleb calling out the others for what they did to Rainbow in the episode 28 Pranks Later. In my opinion, that zombie prank was SO uncalled for! I mean, Twilight, you and everyone else know that Rainbow loves pulling pranks so that type of stuff should be expected. But enough about that. I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter.
