A month had passed since the coronation. During that time, Leonidas and Lucinda ruled Hyrule with all the care they had and even made sure that Hyrule's relations would remain strong as well as ensuring that bandit problems would decrease. At that time during the morning, both Leonidas and Lucinda were in their shared office, which had formerly belonged to Zelda, doing some work when Finola showed up.
"King Leonidas, Queen Lucinda, a letter has arrived from Ordon," explained Finola.
"That's interesting," said Leonidas, "I wonder what it's about?"
"I'll read it at once," said Lucinda as she was given the letter before Finola left having finished what she had to do.
"So what does the letter say," asked Leonidas a minute later.
"Apparently, some very strange people have arrived in Ordon," answered Lucinda, "And these people want our help with a big problem of theirs."
"Well I guess we will go to Orodon with some knights and see what they need," said Leonidas.
Leonidas and Lucinda then ordered twenty four knights to go to Orodon with them, put on their armor, and got their horses for the trip because they had to hurry to Ordon due to request by the letter.
After three hours of traveling, Leonidas, Lucinda, and the knights who were accompanying them arrived at Ordon where Colin was waiting at the entrance with someone who looked like a bird.
"Hey Colin," said Lucinda as she and Leonidas got off their horses, "We're here."
"Well it seems you got here quick," said Colin, "Glad to see you are both doing well and decided to come for this situation of ours."
"Does it have to do with this person with you," asked Leonidas."
"It does," replied the bird-like person who was clearly a woman with brown feathers, "I am Takako of the Rito." "It's great to meet the king and queen of Hyrule and I'm glad you are here to help us."
"I've never heard of Rito before," said Lucinda, feeling puzzled.
"That's to be expected," replied Takako, "My people are a bird-like race who live on a tall mountain south of here called Rito Mountain." "For as long as anyone can remember, we have isolated ourselves on our mountain thinking we didn't need help from others or to help others."
"Then why do you need our help and with what problem," asked Leonidas.
"Well you see," said Takako, "Yesterday, Rito Mountain was attacked by a dragon." "At first we thought we could handle the dragon but it proved to be very powerful and to make matters worse, a second dragon showed up working with the first one." "Right after the second dragon arrived, my father, the Rito Chief, told me to do two things which both lead to ending our isolation." "The first was to evacuate the elderly and children to somewhere off the mountain that would be safe and the second was to find help with stopping the dragons and saving our home."
"Many Rito who are either elderly or children are currently with us in Ordon Village," explained Colin, "When they arrived and told me the same story, I gladly allowed them to be here until this mess is done and then wrote to you about this."
"I see," said Leonidas, "Well then, we'll help you with saving Rito Mountain."
"Thank you," thanked Takako, "I will guide you and your knights to Rito Mountain right away."
Takako then flew up in the air while Leonidas and Lucinda got back on their horses and followed her. Takako proved to be a fast flier though she was able to allow Leonidas, Lucinda and the knights to catch up to her as they followed. After a while, the company arrived at the base of a mountain that was both thinner than and taller than Death Mountain.
"That's one tall mountain," said Lucinda while everyone was amazed by looking at Rito Mountain.
"We Rito like being high in the sky," explained Takako, "Don't worry about climbing though, there's secret stairs around here for Rito who can't fly yet." "If we hurry, we should get to the Rito and the dragons before it's too late."
The group then got off their horses and then quickly found the stairs and climbed them with great speed. When they got high enough, loud roars could be heard.
"That must be the dragons," said Takako, "Let's hope there's still time to stop them." "We're almost there."
After that, Takako, Leonidas, Lucinda and the knights of Hyrule arrived at the top of the stairs where they all saw many Rito fighting three dragons.
"I thought there were two of them," said Leonidas with confusion."
"I guess a third one showed up after I left," replied Takako, "Anyway we must save Rito Mountain."
Leonidas and Lucinda then divided the knights into three groups and had each group take on a different dragon. The knights then joined the Rito and the Rito felt relieved that help had come. During that time, Takako went to fight a dragon that was fighting an important looking Rito who looked similar to her while Leonidas and Lucinda started to fight a dragon that seemed to be stronger than the other two.
The dragon that Leonidas and Lucinda were fighting, having noticed that the tide of the battle had turned, blasted fire with what seemed to be a lot of power. The fire then hit three Rito who were unable to avoid the fire, unlike the others who were fighting the dragon and then the dragon got tired for a bit. Noticing an opportunity, Lucinda brought out a bow and shot an arrow into one of the dragon's eyes which made it fly up in pain. A Rito soldier then flew up behind the dragon and damaged one of the wings which made it fall. Once the dragon was down, Leonidas chopped the dragon's head off with his sword which killed it.
"Well one down," said Leonidas, "Let's keep it up."
"It appears that Takako just killed the dragon she was fighting," said Lucinda, noticing how the others were doing, "Now everyone can focus on the last one."
As Lucinda said all the Rito and Hyrulians ganged up on the final dragon and before long, the overwhelming number severely wounded the dragon until it died thus ending the battle and saving Rito Mountain.
"So you are Hyrulians," said the important looking Rito from earlier as he flew and landed in front of Leonidas and Lucinda, "My name is Kulon, chief of the Rito." "I'm glad to see that ending our agelong isolation was the right choice."
"It's good to see that your people and home are safe now," replied Leonidas, "By the way, I'm King Leonidas of Hyrule and this woman with me is my wife, Queen Lucinda."
"Well I deeply thank you for helping us Rito despite our differences," said Kulon, "This whole thing has taught me that isolation is never a good thing and we should always help each other." "Perhaps this should be the start of the Rito's first friendship with Hyrule."
"It's an honor to have Hyrule as your first friend and ally," replied Leonidas as he and Kulon shook hands, sealing the deal of friendship.
"Seeing as how this place is wrecked by the dragons and some of the Rito were killed by them as well, we'll have our people aid you in repairing the damage and make sure the dead are taken care of," said Lucinda.
"We would appreciate that," said Takako who joined the conversation, "In return, we'll help you whenever you need it." "As for me, I've got to get back to Ordon Village to get the elderly and children back here."
With the dragons killed and the alliance between Hyrule and the Rito made, Leonidas, Lucinda and the knights returned to Hyrule Castle with Leonidas and Lucinda feeling good to have made their first big accomplishment as king and queen.
