Hello one and all to another chapter of Pokemon SVTA where today, Nemona is ready to battle her next Gym Leader, Brassius of Artazon. Will Nemona learn from last time and be able to focus and strategize or we'll she be defeated? With college out of the way for the Summer, I'll have more time for chapters if I'm not too busy in my daily life but for now, I hope you enjoy!
I was originally going to publish this alongside 2 other chapters and the side story chapters but I ended up having writer's block during the 2nd of the 3 chapters where I felt like I couldn't think of anything and right now, there's a serious distraction going on in my life (by that, I mean Shin Megami Tensei V Vengence that I'm busy with) so I decided to publish this chapter now to keep you guys busy even if it's not very long or the best Gym Battle.

Cover Story 48: Delta Stream 2:
Last time, Sawyer's Mega Stone is taken from him by a mysterious girl and her Whismur, and this applies to a trainer named Brandon, the son of Professor Birch. They meet up with Champion Steven for a plan and that being to use Meteorite Shards and so he and Brandon work together to save the world from this meteorite. Steven suggests to the 2 of heading to Granite Cave, a cave containing a room detailing the Primal forms of Groudon and Kyogre and so the two head there but just as they were about to fly to Granite Cave, they see a Team Aqua and Team Magma grunt arguing in front of a timid green-haired boy named Wally and his Gallade over his Mega Stone. Sawyer's Salamence scares them off and Wally thanks them and Brandon recognizes him as a good friend from Verdandurf Town.
Sawyer heard about the 2 gangs and thought they disbanded over an incident a couple years ago but Brandon hears they were never disbanded but more of reduced in power. Either way, Wally explains that his Mega Stone was almost taken from him from a mysterious girl in a hood and with a Whismur but she only took his large marble that resembles a Mega Stone and that when he tried to leave, he was surrounded by grunts trying to take his Mega Stone because there's was taken. Just as Wally said that more grunts started to show up and not wanting to deal with them or have Wally hurt, Sawyer asks Wally to come along on and all 3 get on Salamence to fly off. Wally introduces himself once more to Sawyer stating they want to be an excellent trainer to overcome their anxiety but has difficulties expressing himself for who he is and asks to join the journey so he can be stronger to protect those he loves.
Sawyer agrees and they eventually arrive to Dewford Town to ask around on where Granite Cave is, and they get an answer from Brawly (who now resembles his ORAS appearance) pointing towards the direction of the cave and they arrive there and search around the cave eventually encountering what appears to be an entrance blocked by heavy rocks so Sawyer sends out Aegislash and uses Sacred Sword hoping to slash the rocks apart but to no avail. Brandon sends out Swampert hoping his Liquidation would do the trick and it slightly works and Wally sends out Magnezone and uses Thunderbolt to no avail. The 3 decide to attack together and so Aegislash uses Iron Head, Swampert uses Liquadation and Magnezone uses Gyro Ball to break through to success.
They enter to see the same girl from before with Whismur who says their name to alert the girl who turns to them with a confident smile. She introduces herself as Zinnia and her Whismur Aster but before she could say anything else, Sawyer tells her to return their Mega Stones but she refuses explaining she needs them to save this world which confuses the group but if they want to figure out the truth, she forces Sawyer to battle sending out her Salamence and not giving them a choice of escape. Sawyer relents and sends out a Grimmsnarl who he caught a year back ready for battle.
Salamence uses Fire Spin to trap Grimmsnarl before rushing in with Iron Head, but Grimmsnarl lures him in thinking he surrendered causing Salamence to stop and that's when Grimmsnarl uses False Surrender to strike the Pokemon before escaping from Fire Spin and using Spirit Break knocking Salamence out. Sawyer now demands Zinnia to return the stones but hears her saying how weak she is as a trainer and that they wouldn't understand what's at stake. She returns Salamence and exclaims that there's more to this story and questions their morals and convictions. Sawyer wants to save the world; Wally wants to become a confident trainer and Brandon wants to be seen as his own person and not who he's associated with but before things could continue, Steven calls and asks the gang to head to Mossdeep for an emergency and hangs up.
Zinnia gives them a Meteaorite Shard, but she says that they don't know what's at stake or if they're up to face the world itself and leaves before the 3 eventually leave for Mossdeep. They arrive meeting up with Steven and a professor named Cozmo's whose studies space and what it offers. They head up where Steven and Cozmo explain that they can destroy the meteor using the power of Infinite Energy, a type of energy studied in Kalos over an 'Ultimate Weapon' from long ago and using that energy and a missile, they can destroy the meteorite. Sawyer asks about Rayquasa and Steven says that though Rayquasa is an idea, the missile will act as the main weapon because they're uncertain if Rayquasa will really help but just as they get up to the main room, they encounter Zinnia with knocked out guards and scared scientists.
Zinnia calls out their actions as reckless because Infinite Energy will only cause repeated destruction similar to what happened years prior with the weapon and asks if they have anything better. Steven mentions that they don't have a choice if Rayquasa might not show up and Zinnia calls them 'weak' for not using their minds to figure this out but just as she was going to leave, Steven recognizes the patterns on her clothing being black with red swirls and asks if she's associated with the 'Draconids', Zinnia perks up and says she is but they too are weak willed and leaves.
Wally suggests if it's a possibility that the 'Draconids' should know about what to do in this time and Steven realizes that possibility and asks them to go to Meteor Falls as there might be a solution to this and with that, the gang leaves once more.
Main Story
Previously on Pokemon SVTA, Nemona went on a quest to search for Sunflora in order to cheer up Brassius whose husband Hassel was initially gone for a work meeting and meanwhile, Ash battled Kieran and Penny dealt with Carmine resulting in her Sprigatito evolving into Floragato though she would lose and Nemona cheering up Brassius and defending the Sunflora resulting in Brassius's permission to battle him which is where we are now.
We see Brassius on top of a roof with Ash and Pikachu bewildered towards the scene and Hassel sighing pinching his forehead with his fingers and shaking his head.
"Is he?" Ash asks as Hassel and Kieran nodded.
"Don't ask why but he likes to show off to his audience about how cool he is or something when making an entrance." Kieran says just as bewildered as Ash as Brassius looks down upon Nemona before proceeding to jump down causing the gang to turn their heads away but Brassius lands safely on his feet confusing Ash even more.
"I- I- never mind." Ash says as Brassius looked to Nemona.
"You did well to make it this far and to cheer me up, so I thank you for that. As a reward, I'll provide you with an excellent battle." Brassius says adamantly as Nemona nods.
"And I expect you to give it your all so don't hold back!" Nemona says as Brassius nods and smiles as a referee walks up the stairs to the stage and gets to the middle of the field.
"This will be a 3 on 3 battle, only the challenger may switch their Pokemon and the battle is over when all of a trainer's Pokemon is unable to battle. You may begin." the female referee says waving the flag as Brassius sends out his first Pokemon.
"Dolliv, provide your positive energy to this battle!" Brassius says as he throws the Pokeball releasing a small, feminine stem-like Pokemon with olives in it's hair, Nemona grabs her dex to scan her.
Dolliv, the Olive Pokemon, a Grass/Normal type and the evolved form of Smoliv. It basks in the sun to its heart's content until the fruits on its head ripen. After that, Dolliv departs from human settlements and goes on a journey.
"Dolliv huh? Well then I'll use-" Nemona stops herself from grabbing Crocalor's Pokeball remembering what happened last time during her fight with Kofu and how she sent out Pawmo first and how Kofu's Floatzel overwhelmed them. She puts back her Pokeball and brings out Gimmighoul's Jet Ball which Ash notices and smiles. "Gimmighoul, let's go!" Nemona says throwing the Jet Ball in the air releasing Gimmighoul who was ready for battle.
"Gimmi!" Gimmighoul says as Ash nods with approval.
"She didn't go with Crocalor right away, that's some good thinking." Penny says as Kieran looked confused.
"What do you mean by that?" Kieran asks as Ash turns to him.
"While having a Pokemon that's super effective against an opponent is good, that Pokemon might have a move that could deal major damage to the Pokemon and end the battle in an instant, so I recommend using a Pokemon that's more neutral against them first." Ash says as Kieran writes this down in his notepad which his Rookidee grabs for him taking interest in the battle.
"You may have the first move, Nemona." Brassius says as Nemona nods and smirks.
"Alright Gimmighoul, use Thief!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul's arms glow and rushes at Dolliv quickly as Brassius smirks.
"Earth Power." Brassius says surprising the others as Dolliv's eyes glow blue and steps onto the ground which cracks open the ground towards Gimmighoul and glows in front of them causing Nemona to take notice.
"Use your coin as a shield!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul grabs their coin quickly placed it in front of them to block the attack which made the ground explode and sent Gimmighoul high in the air. The spectators were left in shock.
"Did Brassius know it was going to happen and used a ranged attack to push back Gimmighoul?" Kieran asked as Hassel nodded.
"Somewhat, most trainers are aware of their Pokemon's limitations of sorts when battling when it comes to them as an individual Pokemon, Abilities, etc and the Smoliv line are known to be slower Pokemon but a trainer can overcome this such as Brassius using more ranged moves to allow Dolliv some breathing room. Nemona will have to overcome that obstacle if she wants to even reach my husband." Hassel says as Nemona tried to think of a plan of attack while Gimmighoul was in the air.
"Use Power Gem from above!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and creates several gems that they launch towards Dolliv as Brassius looked on.
"My those gems are marvelous, it's too bad I have to dodge, use Trailblaze to dodge them Dolliv!" Brassius says as Dolliv's body glows and rushes backwards avoiding the gem attacks much to Nemona's frustration. Noticing this, Pawmo turned to his trainer.
"Paw!" Pawmo says as Nemona wakes up from her frustration and calms down.
"You're right Pawmo, I need to be calm and focused. It's as Ash says, I need to adapt and strategize when it comes to this sort of thing." Nemona says as she tried to think of a plan hoping to get somewhere in the battle.
"Dolliv, use Trailblaze to attack!" Brassius says as Dolliv nods.
"Gimmighoul endure for a bit longer, I have an idea." Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and stays still as Dolliv rushes in to attack Gimmighoul, she strikes Gimmighoul's side multiple times while Gimmighoul tries to endure it for a bit longer before eventually, Dolliv rushed at them from the front as Nemona sees an opportunity.
"Gimmighoul, use Shadow Ball on the ground!" Nemona says confusing the audience.
"But Shadow Ball is a Ghost type move, it won't effect Dolliv!" Penny says surprised but Ash and Hassel seem to know what she's doing.
"She knows." Ash says as the gang looked at him confused as Gimmighoul creates a ball of ghostly energy and prepares to slam it to the ground as Brassius realizes what's up.
"Jump back Dolliv!" Brassius says as Dolliv immediately does so and the attack lands on the ground creating a puff of smoke and Nemona smirks, seeing another opportunity.
"Now use your coin as an attack!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul throws their coin towards Dolliv.
"Catch it!" Brassius says as Dolliv does so, "Gotcha ya." Brassius says as Nemona shakes her head.
"Not yet, use Thief!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul's arms glow and they rush through the smoke surprising both Brassius and Dolliv as Gimmighoul jabs at Dolliv sending her back and letting go of the coin allowing Gimmighoul to pick up their coin and place it back on their tail. Brassius looked surprised and even congratulatory towards Nemona.
"You managed to surprise me, using that Shadow Ball as a way to surprise me and not as an attack is clever and artistic but can you keep up?" Brassius says as Nemona smirks.
"Yes I can!" Nemona says as Brassius smirks as well.
"Very well, Dolliv, use Earth Power." Brassius says as Dolliv nods and steps on the ground once more creating more cracks in the earth heading towards Gimmighoul.
"Jump left!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and jumps to the left to avoid the attack but Brassius smirks.
"In the air Dolliv and use Leaf Storm to surround them!" Brassius says as Dolliv nods catching everyone off guard as she jumps in the air with boosted speed due to Trailblaze and launched a series of leaves that surrounds Gimmighoul resembling a tornado or hurricane preventing escape as Dolliv landed back towards the ground. "Excellent, now prepare Solar Beam!" Brassius says as Dolliv nods and creates light of energy waiting for it to be fully unleashed.
The crowd looks on in awe including Hassel towards Brassius quick-thinking actions and battle style.
"No way, I didn't realize he was that skilled in battle." Ash says as Hassel nods.
"Indeed, he views battling as a form of art and to perfect that art, he works hard to make sure his style has no imperfections by looking to the opponent and their strengths and weaknesses." Hassel says surprising the group.
"You mean he's observant in battle to recognize anyone's strengths and weaknesses?" Arven says as Hassel nodded, "And that Leaf Storm, it's still going on like Hurricane, twirling forever with that amount of force." Arven added on.
"It took him 2 years for Brassius to master Leaf Storm to be in its perfected state, one that can keep going like the move Hurricane." Hassel said as Kieran was intrigued.
"That must be one- wait a sec, it took him 2 years to master Leaf Storm!? If Dolliv were to replace Leaf Storm, then what would be that work then!?" Kieran says astonished as Brassius sweated nervously and chuckled.
"I haven't thought that one through to be honest." Brassius says as the crowd including Hassel and even Nemona had their mouths left agape towards what he said. Gimmighoul meanwhile struggled to find a way out.
"Use Power Gem to create an escape!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and creates a gem to launch at a random spot within the Leaf Storm and launched it only for the Power Gem to be reflected off the Leaf Storm and hit Gimmighoul multiple times before the gem bounced off the Leaf Storm. The Solar Beam was preparing to be finished soon and Nemona had to think of an escape plan for Gimmighoul before it was too late. She sees Dolliv is almost finished and Nemona had one last one minute plan in her mind.
"Gimmighoul, I want you to prepare a Shadow Ball but don't use it yet, wait for my signal." Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and creates a Shadow Ball and left the gang anticipated towards Nemona's actions.
"Now Dolliv!" Brassius says Dolliv launches a beam of solar light towards Gimmighoul as Nemona nods.
"Now slam Shadow Ball to the ground!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and slams the Shadow Ball to the ground spreading away the Leaf Storm and sending Gimmighoul in the air surprising everyone as Dolliv was left wide open after using the move.
"No way." Brassius says astonished as Nemona grins.
"Power Gem!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul launches multiple gems towards Dolliv which land and creates a puff of smoke, the smoke clears away to show Dolliv has fainted astonishing everyone as the referee checks Dolliv and nods.
"Dolliv is unable to battle! Gimmighoul wins this round!" the referee says as the crowd cheers and Brassius has a soft smile and nods as he returns Dolliv to her Pokeball.
"Thank you Dolliv, you were splendid." Brassius says as he returns his Pokeball and gets another, "I must say, you're really impressing me this far Miss. Nemona, it's almost like you have a taste of art and battling." Brassius says as Nemona was confused.
"Wha?" Nemona says as Brassius chuckles.
"It's alright, art is complicated. You have to focus on the finer details in art and in battle, so use those details to your advantage towards this next fight. Flapple, spread your wings my friend!" Brassius says as he throws out his Pokeball releasing Flapple who was ready for battle. All of a sudden, Hassel and Arven's Pokeball shakes and releases an Appletun and Arven's Applin respectfully surprising them.
"Appletun/Applin?" both men say as Appletun cheers on Flapple and Flapple winks towards Appletun.
"Are they in love?" Ash says as Hassel nods.
"It's like me and Brassius. We gave an Applin to each other out of love and the Applin's are in love, very romantic." Hassel says confusing Ash.
"Wha-" Ash didn't finish as Penny stepped in.
"It's a Galar and Paldea thing, don't worry about it too much." Penny says as Ash nods, Arven looked to his Applin happily.
"Are you rooting for Flapple Applin?" Arven asks as Applin nods, "You want to evolve into either one with a Tart or Sweet Apple?" Arven asks as Apple shook his head surprising him as Kieran chuckled.
"I bet he'll like my regions Syrupy Apples; I hear they're good." Kieran says as the gang eventually laugh it off a bit and watch the battle.
Flapple's in the air and is a bit speedy so I'll have to watch carefully when I attack. Nemona thought to herself as Nemona focused on the battle. "Gimmighoul, use Astonish!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul nods and rushes towards Flapple, but Brassius kept that confident smile.
"Use Acid Spray towards the ground!" Brassius says as Flapple launches a purple blob towards the ground in front of Gimmighoul who slips on the acid causing Nemona to worry but Brassius still stays confident. "Acrobatics!" Brassius says as Flapple moves swiftly through the air trying to land a strike on the Coin Hunter Pokemon as Nemona panicked.
"Quick Shadow Ball!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul prepares to launch a ball of purple energy.
"Behind!" Brassius says as Flapple disappears in a blink of an eye appearing behind Gimmighoul smacking them and sending them flying as Brassius continued the offensive, "Finish things with Dragon Rush!" he says as Flapple rushed towards Gimmighoul as Nemona panicked.
"Quick Power Gem!" Nemona says as Gimmighoul created a gem and as Flapple rushes in with a blue aura surrounding it and shaping itself like a dragon preparing to collide with Gimmighoul as a puff of smoke appeared and upon clearing, we see Gimmighoul had fainted with Flapple coming out seemingly unhurt... at least at first. A referee goes to check on Gimmighoul and nods.
"Gimmighoul is unable to battle! Flapple wins!" the referee says as Nemona looked saddened but smiled as she returned Gimmighoul to their Pokeball.
"Thank you Gimmighoul, get some rest." Nemona says as she struggled to think of who to pick next onto the battlefield.
This is a difficult dilemma; I can see that Flapple's left arm has taken a hit from the Power Gem so I could send out one of my Pokemon could send out Pawmo to handle Flapple but Pawmo is neutral to Flapple's Acrobatics which could cause some issues. Crocalor could handle Flapple but they'd be neutral against them due to Flapple's part Dragon typing, maybe Teddi- Nemona didn't finish thinking as Pawmo looked to her with determination causing Nemona to snap out of it and nod. "Alright buddy, you have all clear to battle!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and jumps onto the battlefield ready for the fight as Brassius looked to the Mouse Pokemon.
That little fella displays an aura of swifty movements and quick-thinking, I need to watch him carefully. Brassius thought to himself as he called out his next move, "Flapple, Grav Apple!" Brassius says as Flapple creates a ball of energy that forms into an apple and prepares to launch it at Pawmo.
"Dig!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and digs underground to avoid the apple attack as Brassius looked on as an idea brewed in his head and snaps his fingers.
"Flapple dear, it's time for your splendid Acid Spray spin! Make sure to aim towards the ground!" Brassius says as Flapple nods and positions their body towards the ground and spins releasing Acid Spray that goes to different spots as splotches stunning the audience but confusing the gang.
"What's up with that Acid Spray? It's a bit random to be doing that in random spots don't you think?" Ash says as Kieran looked on and an idea brewed in his head.
"I think I might get why he did that, just watch!" Kieran says as Nemona tries to determine a spot to strike Flapple and might've found a spot to strike Flapple.
"Now Pawmo, dig back up to strike Flapple!" Nemona says as Pawmo digs back up but as he does, he touches the acid splotches causing him to yelp in pain and hop out of the ground allowing Brassius an opportunity to strike.
"Acrobatics, let's go!" the artist said as Flapple goes through evasive movements and prepares to land a strike on Pawmo as Nemona had to think quickly.
"Quick, use Bite onto Flapple!" Nemona says as Pawmo waited for Flapple to fly in close and created a floating pair of jaws that Pawmo used to latch onto Flapple's arm causing Flapple to panic and try to shake off Pawmo who hung on tight as Nemona smirked. "Discharge!" Nemona says as Pawmo releases electricity that shocks Flapple as Brassius panicked.
"Quick, Dragon Rush to the ground!" Brassius says as Flapple forms a blue energy shaped like a dragon and rushes down to the ground to slam Pawmo causing him to bounce off the ground and Flapple to be free from Pawmo's grasps and sent him flying onto another splotch causing Pawmo to jump up in pain once more. "Acrobatics." Brassius says as Flapple nods and rushes towards Pawmo as Nemona panicked.
"Dig quickly!" Nemona says as Pawmo dug quickly avoiding the attack even if it meant him getting hot acid onto his arms as he avoided the attack. Nemona gritted her teeth struggling what to do next.
Flapple has the advantage with maneuvering and speed. If I can't match that power and speed, I'll never get anywhere. But what if I try to surprise him to land a strike? Let's try it. Nemona thought to herself. "Alright Pawmo, it's time for our special attack; Espectáculo de luces de ataque sorpresa emergente!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods but confuses Ash and Kieran.
"The espresso emergency wha?" Ash says.
"The Pop-up surprise attack light show" Arven informs as Ash nods and looks on with skepticism.
I hope you know what you're doing. Ash thought to himself as Nemona grins with excitement.
"Alright Pawmo, keep digging and 'pop-up' when possible." Nemona says as Pawmo nods and keeps digging causing Brassius to look on in suspicion and remained focused.
"Flapple, focus on where Pawmo might be and attack with Acrobatics." Brassius says as Flapple nods and looks around and he sees Pawmo digging upwards with his ears poking through the ground allowing Flapple to rush over.
"Back down and repeat!" Nemona says as Pawmo dug back down avoiding the attack. Pawmo did the same thing again, and again for a little while until around 12 holes appeared and Flapple looked annoyed.
"Acid Spray into one of the holes!" Brassius says as Flapple launched a purple blob towards the holes as Nemona saw an opportunity.
"Now Discharge!" Nemona says as Pawmo releases a stream of electricity out of the holes which darkens the sky and surprises everyone by the power of the Discharge, it hits Flapple stunning him as the Discharge stops and Pawmo pops out of the hole. "Mach Punch!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and prepares to launch himself towards Flapple.
"Grav Apple, quickly!" Brassius says as Flapple creates an apple that he launches towards Pawmo's fist causing Pawmo to try to shake it out worrying Nemona as Brassius saw his chance. "Now Dragon Rush!" Brassius says as Flapple launches himself towards Pawmo as Nemona panicked.
Whattodo!? Whattodo!? Whattodo!? Nemona thought to herself, "Use the apple and use it for Mach Punch when Flapple flies close by!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and winds up his fist as Flapple flew in and with all his might, Pawmo punched Flapple stopping Flapple's movements. "Now slam with your Mach Punch!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and through a quick thrust, uses Mach Punch to punch Flapple to the ground, breaking the apple and attacking the Apple Wing Pokemon as the crowd looks on astonished as Flapple faints.
"Flapple is unable to battle, Pawmo wins!" the referee says as Brassius returned Flapple to his Pokeball and placed in on his head nodding before getting his next Pokeball.
"Thank you Flapple, you were brilliant. I must say, most trainers have difficulty reaching me through my artistic skills, maybe I need some work but don't celebrate just yet, you have one more obstacle ahead of you miss Nemona." Brassius says as Nemona nods.
"Got it!" she says.
"Very well, Sudowoodo, it's time for our last dance!" Brassius says throwing out his Pokeball sending out Sudowoodo who smiled and shaked ready for battle when all of a sudden, it started to smirk weirdly causing the gang to be weirded out.
"Why is Sudowoodo grinning like that!?" Arven said weirded out as even Hassel shrugged.
"That... to be honest I don't know; he was always liked that when I dated Brassius so I'll chalk that up to him being happy in life so good for him." Hassel said as Nemona looked to Pawmo and grabbed her Tera Orb.
"Pawmo, I think it's time." Nemona says as Brassius and the gang look on concerned.
"Nemona's going to use her Tera Orb now!? She won't have another chance." Penny says as Brassius sighed.
"I see your determined to finish things too, very well. Sudowoodo, it's time to lead this artistic endeavor to its conclusion at once!" Brassius says grabbing his Tera Orb as both of the trainer's orbs glow and they throw it at their Pokemon as they Terastalize with Pawmo becoming Electric while Sudowoodo becoming Grass type ready for battle and creeping everyone out with their smile.
"Pawmo, use Dig!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and digs into the ground.
"Listen to the rhythm and strike with Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo nods and stands there waiting for Pawmo to come by and when Pawmo digs to Sudowoodo's right, Sudowoodo smirks and when Pawmo pops out, Sudowoodo strikes Pawmo sending him flying in the air surprising Nemona.
"What the-" Nemona didn't even finish as Brassius called on his next attack.
"Smack Down!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo creates an orange rock that he launches towards Pawmo.
"Quick Pawmo, use Smack Down to hit the rock!" Nemona says as Pawmo nods and realigns himself to smack the rock sending it flying towards Sudowoodo.
"Block it!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo blocks the attack causing the rock to break and allowing Nemona another opportunity.
"Now Mach Punch!" Nemona says as Pawmo launches himself and strikes Sudowoodo staggering him before Pawmo jumps back. The crowd looks on impressed.
"That's some quick thinking from Nemona there, I bet she's like that when training her?" Kieran asked Ash as Ash chuckled.
"Most of the time but whenever I see that look of determination in her eyes, I know she's planning something but what now?" Ash says as he looks on at the battle.
Did Brassius say his Sudowoodo can feel vibrations? Maybe through Sudowoodo's dance-like movements, he can sense an opponent's movements and even sense those underground. Better be careful Nemona. Ash thought to himself as the battle raged on.
"Now Discharge!" Nemona says as Pawmo's Tera hat glows and launches a stream of 4 electrical beams towards Sudowoodo as Brassius remained steadfast.
"Mimic!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo's stem like horns glow and releases a similar stream of electricity towards Pawmo's Discharge covering the battlefield in smoke surprising Nemona.
"Wha-" Nemona says.
"Trailblaze!" Brassius says as Pawmo could see through the smoke a glow and Sudowoodo rushing through the smoke skating like an ice skater as Sudowoodo kicks at Pawmo's side quickly sending Pawmo flying. "Smack Down!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo launches a medium sized orange rock towards Pawmo.
"Discharge!" Nemona says as Pawmo launched Discharge towards the rock as Brassius saw another opportunity.
"Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo rushes through the smoke and karate chops Pawmo who bounced off the ground.
"No Paw- Discharge on the ground!" Nemona says as Pawmo launched a stream of electricity towards the ground covering the field with smoke once more as Pawmo trailed behind Sudowoodo. "Now Bite!" Nemona says as Pawmo jumps and prepares to bite at Sudowoodo but it seems Sudowoodo dodged knowingly as the Imitation Pokemon smirked weirdly.
"Finish things with Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo's left arm glows and strikes at Pawmo swiftly as a referee goes to check on Pawmo and nods.
"Pawmo is unable to battle, the creepily smiling Sudowoodo wins this battle!" the refferee says as Nemona was shocked, but she picked up Pawmo and softly smiled.
"You were amazing Pawmo, get some rest, I promise to win for all of us." Nemona says as Pawmo nods and sits down next to her but in her mind, Nemona was panicking.
I only have one last chance to beat Sudowoodo or I'll be down for the count! Think, think, think! Maybe Teddiursa might have a shot at this, alright Teddiursa, do your- Nemona didn't finish her thoughts as Crocalor comes out of his Pokeball on his own surprising Nemona and the crowd. "What the- Crocalor!? What are you doing out of your Pokeball, I didn't-" Nemona stopped herself upon seeing Crocalor's expression, she wasn't sure if Crocalor was tired, stoic, stubborn or had something planned but she knew Crocalor was serious about something and nodded. A referee noticed the issue and walked over.
"Miss Nemona, was there an error in your Pokemon selection?" the referee asked as Nemona shook her head.
"No, I'm good, I'll be using Crocalor." Nemona says as the referee nodded.
"Very well, we shall continue the match!" the referee says as Nemona focuses on Sudowoodo who still had the weird smile and danced but Sudowoodo appeared to be a bit faster most likely due to Trailblaze's speed boosting effects.
I have one last shot at this and no Tera, so I got to focus. Maybe Crocalor came out of his ball because he has a plan. Nemona thought to herself as she looked to Crocalor who looked aloof. "Alright Crocalor, let's work together to make it through! Stay focused on Sudowoodo and-"
"Croca." Crocalor interuptted as Nemona blinked twice.
"Huh, guess he understood me or wants me to be quiet. Use Thunder Fang!" Nemona says as Crocalor rushes at Sudowoodo who was ready for a fight.
"Sudowoodo, dodge it with Trailblaze!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo nods and dodges to the right but in Crocalor's perspective, Sudowoodo was moving more slowly or more rather, moving at a regular pace to him while to others, Sudowoodo was moving fast and so when Sudowoodo dodged, Crocalor looked at Sudowoodo's movements and bit Sudowoodo's arm causing Sudowoodo to hop in pain trying to shake off Crocalor before he eventually hops off. Brassius looked on astonished.
It's as if Crocalor was being observant, knowing when to strike. Could it be its Unaware Ability taking effect ignoring my Sudowoodo's boosts? That look in his eyes tells me that he knows or just really wants a snack. Brassius thought to himself as he focused on the battle. "Sudowoodo, run around him with Trailblaze!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo nodded and ran around Crocalor.
"Crocalor, stay there for a moment!" Nemona says as Crocalor nodded slightly and waited patiently as Brassius saw an opportunity.
"Now Sudowoodo, use Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo rushes in and prepares to use Brick Break from behind, but Nemona uses this as an opportunity.
"Use Snarl on the ground to launch yourself off the ground!" Nemona says as Crocalor launches a dark beam of energy out of his mouth staggering Sudowoodo as Nemona smirked, "Now Flamethrower!" Nemona says as Crocalor launches a swirl of flames towards Sudowoodo which damages them severely as Nemona looked ready and prepared.
"That combo, it's a work of art." Brassius says as Nemona smiled.
"Well then, here's some more art! Use Bite!" Nemona says as Crocalor rushes at the stunned Sudowoodo as Brassius panicked.
"Sudowoodo, recover yourself and give Crocalor a snack with Smack Down!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo nodded and launched a rock towards Crocalor point blank as Nemona also panicked.
"Quick, catch it!" Nemona said as Crocalor caught the rock in his mouth but couldn't. "Crocalor!" Nemona called out worryingly as Brassius smirked.
"Use Discharge!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo launches the Discharge created by Mimic towards Crocalor as his eyes open wide in worry.
"Jump back!" Nemona says as Crocalor did creating a puff of smoke in its place and out emerged the smirking Sudowoodo.
"Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo strikes at Crocalor sending him back with the rock starting to crumble a bit and loosening which Nemona took notice of and wanted to wait till it was time. "Now then Sudowoodo, use Brick Break!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo nods but instead of striking from the front, he duped Crocalor by preparing to strike from behind as Nemona saw her chance.
"Snarl!" Nemona says as Crocalor launches the rock through the dark energy launching it at Sudowoodo stunning him and sent him back.
"Sudowoodo!" Brassius says worried.
"Now finish things off with Flamethrower!" Nemona says as Crocalor lets out a heavy breath attack towards Sudowoodo.
"Discharge!" Brassius says as Sudowoodo launches a stream of electricity towards the Flamethrower as both attacks landed on one another as the crowd looked on in awe and were filled with anticipation towards what would happen next. The smoke clears and we see both Pokemon breathing heavily, and it appeared like Crocalor was going to fall but he uses his arms to stay above the ground and stay awake while Sudowoodo falls to the ground defeated as a referee checks and nods.
"Sudowoodo is unable to battle! Crocalor wins and the winner of the Artazon Gym Battle goes to Nemona the challenger! Congratulations!" the referee says as Nemona looked on surprise as the crowd claps for her and her friends cheer her on.
"That's the spirit!" Arven says.
"I knew she could do it." Ash says nodding as he turns to the left to see Kieran looking sad with a dark gloom over his face concerning Ash, "Kieran? Is everything-"
"That was a spectacular battle! I need to work hard to be like her and you, it's amazing!" Kieran says as Ash sighed out of relief as Hassel clapped as well but looked worried for his husband who stood there but Brassius smiled and walked to his Sudowoodo to help him up.
"You were excellent Sudowoodo, our battle was like a work of art, wasn't it?" Brassius says as Sudowoodo smiled normally and nodded as Nemona and Pawmo went over to Crocalor happily.
"Crocalor, you were amazing out there, I'm going to award you with some syrupy Oran Berries- hmm, Crocalor?" Nemona asked as Crocalor was sleeping and Nemona chuckled, "Of course, never change Crocalor, never change." Nemona says with a soft smile as she returns him to his Pokeball before confronting Brassius.
"You helped me out today, getting my Sunflora together and through this battle, you reignited my spirits of art and I can't thank you enough. For your courage during battle, I award you with the Bloom Badge." Brassius says as the referee hands Brassius the badge and hands it to Nemona as her eyes sparkle in excitement.
"Alright, I just got the Bloom Badge!" Nemona says as Pawmo jumps in the air in happiness as Brassius nodded.
"Now then, how about some photos for the road?" Brassius asked. We see various photos such as of Nemona and Brassius doing a cool pose (similar to the in-game photo), Nemona's Pawmo, Hassel's Baxcalibur and Brassius's Sudowoodo doing a Charlie's Angel's style pose. Arven, Penny, Kieran and Hassel admiring Brassius's art and Hassel telling stories of he and Brassius's love life that Brassius gets embarrassed by.
We see Nemona and the gang near the town's exit preparing to go on another journey with Brassius, Hassel, Professor Gible, Kieran and Charlos seeing them off.
"So, Miss Nemona, where are you off to next for your Gym Battle?" Brassius asked as Ash gets blinded by the bright lights within the evening sun.
"That city's so bright." Ash says as Brassius and Hassel nod.
"Indeed, that city is Levincia and is home to the Gym Leader of that city Iono. It's where I recommend your next Gym Battle though she can be quite eccentric to the calmest of folks." Brassius says as Penny and Kieran perked up.
"Wait Iono? The Iono of the Stream Zone!?" Penny and Kieran say as Ash got intrigued.
"Io- who?" Ash asked as Kieran and Penny looked at Ash intensely with stars in their eyes.
"Iono, she's a famous influencer with tons of views and content about various subjects." Kieran says with excitement as Penny nods.
"She's funny, eccentric and a former student of Uva Academy so when that school's mentioned, it's referred to as Iono's playground and got so crazy with visitors that the school shut down for 2 days." Penny says surprising the gang. "But I hear that despite her fun-loving attitude, she is down to earth and friendly from rumors and when she's off camera." Penny says.
"Guess she's that popular. Sounds like my type of style and the person I would battle most, right Pawmo?" Nemona asked as Pawmo nods and cheers excitedly as Ash looked to Kieran.
"Ash, the next time we see each other, I promise that I'll become a strong trainer to take you on and make you proud." Kieran says as Ash was taken aback.
Does Kieran feel like he needs to earn someone's approval when it comes to battling? Is this why you want to get stronger or is there something more? Ash thought to himself, "You don't have to earn my approval, you're already amazing!" Ash says.
"But I don't- no, I still want to work on myself, so I'll prove myself for next time, I promise!" Kieran says with his Rookidee chirping happily as Ash softly smiled as Hassel walked up.
"So Ash, I hear your taking on a special challenge to fight the Elite Four, I hear they're pretty tough, where are you off to?" Hassel asks.
"To Ore Town to meet up with Poppy." Ash says as Hassel nodded.
"Ahh, Poppy, don't let her size or age confuse you, she's a tough one so think things through, and you'll be able to get through no problem!" Hassel says encouragingly.
"Gib Gib!" Professor Gible says encouragingly as Ash nods.
"You got it!" Ash says as the gang prepare to leave, and Kieran walks off as Brassius softly smiled at Hassel.
"You're not going to tell the kid the truth about your other profession?" Brassius says knowingly as Hassel shook his head.
"I'd rather pan out the truth a bit longer to make things interesting." Hassel says as Brassius chuckled.
"So Hassy, you wanted to ask me something earlier?" Brassius asked as Hassel perked up in surprise.
Well, here goes nothing, I need to ask him about raising Mela, to give her home, to express her art. Here it goes. Hassel thought to himself as he opened his mouth.
We see Clive (still in his disguise) and Ribes at a cafe discussing some things with Clive's Inteleon talking to Ribes H Arcanine, but it seems like Ribes has some sort of serious look on his face, almost as if he's seen something he shouldn't have.
"Ribes, if you want to see your children again, I'm not going to stop you." Clive says as Ribes looked unsure.
"I feel disgraceful as a father, they likely disown me." Ribes says as Clive shook his head.
"If you keep running away from your problems without facing the truth and reforming, you won't be able to earn closure in your life. Just give them a chance." Clive says as Ribes nods slowly as Clive sighs, "You look like you've seen something not so based." Clive says making people around him cringe.
"You know about the students that followed Carmine as her bodyguards? I overheard them while getting information and it seems they're working for someone or rather someone's to avoid suspension." Ribes says as Clive perks up.
"I take it it's hunting Team Star students and suspending them?" Clive says as Ribes nods.
"But there's a bit more to it, they say their 'contractors' are of Tiroso and Phyllus." Ribes says as Clive stops drinking his tea and places it down having a more frowning if quiet and furious expression on Clive's face.
"Tiroso and Phyllus?" Clive says with cold venom in his voice.
"Tiroso always seemed suspicious back then in Naranja but even more so when it came to the Starry Skies incident but Phyllus, I remember him for being kind, jovial and a bit older, now he looks more cunning and younger in appearance when I see him. You don't think something's up do you?" Ribes asks as Clive didn't respond at first before sighing.
"Well, whatever's happening, I need to get to the bottom of this, I'm heading to Uva Academy." Clive says.

We've reached the end of another chapter and to be honest, this one was the most boring to write in my opinion. It took a couple of days to get through the battle portion and by then I was tired of it. But I hope you enjoyed the battle, I decided since the chapter was short, I decided to write a couple of other chapters to go alongside this one where I felt they were much enjoyable to write about.

Description: Born in a town that lacked beauty and art, he decided to become an artist growing up to spice up the town and make it more attractable to everyone but at times, he fell into a slump and even a depression at one point. At a certain point in his life 22 years ago while depressed, he saw a similarly depressed Hassel who was alone and didn't have a place to stay mentioning 'family issues' (which will be explored in a future chapter revolving around Hassel and his friendship story) and Brassius allowed him to stay at his place.
Hassel fell in love with Brassius art and Brassius also fell in love with Hassel's art thus sparking a friendship and as the days gone by, Hassel cheered Brassius up and reignited his artist spirit and that friendship turned to attraction, but Brassius was scared of driving away Hassel if he didn't feel the same so he kept it to himself for a long while until both folks decided to confess to one another by giving each other Applin's (a sign of a love confession in Galar) which surprised the both of them but it sparked a romance.
In later years, Hassel worked up the courage to propose to Brassius which Brassius happily accepted, and both are married to this day. They both live happily and considered adoption but due to their jobs, they decided to wait until the time was right. Brassius fell in love with Grass types due to their beauty and nature as they felt like art when looking at them.

Description: Brassius's first Pokemon, he mistakenly thought Sudowoodo was Grass type as a kid, but both remain best friends to this day. For reasons not even Brassius knows, Sudowoodo smirks weirdly. This Sudowoodo is a reference to Pokemon Horizons and that Sudowoodo also smiled weirdly. Despite his strangeness, he's actually very friendly but creeps people out at times.

Flapple (Male, Grass/Dragon, TT: Dragon, Ability: Ripen)
Description: Given to Brassius as an Applin as a sign of love by Hassel, Flapple wants to impress Hassel's Appletun by looking cool but in actuality, he's pretty shy.

Arboliva (Female, Grass/Normal, TT: Grass, Ability: Seed Sower)
Description: Brassius's 2nd Pokemon he caught and his signature Pokemon outside of Sudowoodo, Arboliva is noted for her calm demeanor when battling and how sturdy she is when taking hits. She acts as the motherly figure to Brassius and even Hassel's Pokemon stopping fights when necessary.

Description: Dolliv is Arboliva's younger sister who Brassius also caught, she likes to consider herself Arboliva's rival when it comes to attention.
