Nope, i don't own Boku no hero and i don't own soulstice either... Do i really need to say this every chapter ? It's kinda boring to keep repeating the same thing on every story. Seriously ! It's like the couch gag from The simpsons, the difference is that the couch gag is actually funny !
Ignore that little rant over there, just go and enjoy this chapter !
Chapter 5
Izumi sighs in relief when the water hits her body.
Even if she did have her ways to keep herself clean before coming to live with Aizawa, nothing beats a good and proper bath. The grenette can surely say that it was one of the things she missed when she ran away two days ago.
"Do you want me to wash your back Zumi ?" Lute ask with a soap on her hand. They both are grateful for the fact that they share the same gender. It would be a lot more complicated if Izumi or Lute were male, especially by the fact that Lute can't really stay too far from Izumi.
And although Lute could just stay somewhere and do her own thing, she would rather help Izumi with her bath since she doesn't need to bath herself.
Izumi nods as the younger of the two floats back and starts to wash the grenette back. The two sisters enjoying the silence and the feeling of peace that they are feeling right now.
But they knew that sooner or later, they would need to speak with Nemuri or Aizawa about what happened that night. Izumi only hopes that Yagi won't tell anything about her outburst at the rooftop.
Lute was the first to break the silence when she stopped washing Izumi back "Sister... how are you feeling ?"
If it were anyone else asking that question, Izumi would lie and say that she was fine. But if there is one person who she would never lie about how she is feeling, that person is Lute.
"I'm... better, I think. I guess I only needed to get rid of the dirty and foul smell, right ?" Izumi joke managed to get a small giggle from the spirit, which made the grenette smile in turn.
But then her smile faded away as she thougut on what to do next. She could try and run away again, but surely Nemuri would be keeping an eye to prevent her from escaping, not that she want to do it now.
"Sister... do you think we should tell Nemuri-san about... what happened that night ?" Lute hesitantly says, making Izumi sigh.
The grenette knows that she has to say what happened that night. Be it to Aizawa, Nemuri or even Hound Dog. But she can't help but fear... she fears about their reaction for when they find out who was responsable for Lute situation... that she killed her own sister... that she is nothing more than a monster...
"You, young Izumi, is the furthest thing from a monster. In fact, your actions as a vigilante only proves that you are more than worthy of the title of hero !" But then Yagi words made her instantly pause. If she really were a monster as All for One said, then... why would the number 1 hero himself say otherwise ?
Izumi then frowns at the thought of the hero. Why his words are so important to her ? Why did his answer mattered a lot, far more than Aizawa ? Why did... why did she confessed her biggest regret to him when she never really knew the man ?
Izumi widened her eyes when an answer came to her, and she couldn't stop a weak chuckle at it, which alerted the other person present, "Zumi ? Is everything ok ?"
Izumi shakes her head, still smiling at such thought, "Yeah, i'm fine. But do you remember when we used to talk about how our lives were before meeting each other ?" Lute frowns in confusion at such random topic.
"Y-yes. We didn't have any memory about that, so we would try to think about who we were and who could be our parents." And despite how it sounds, it was a lot of fun. Many crazy theories were born on those talks. She can remember her theory about being the secret child of All Might... the thought made her grimace at such embarrasing thing to say.
"Perhaps one of those theories are more accurate than we thought." Izumi vaguely says, which made Lute curious about which one.
"Which one ? Our theory about being born from the same family ?" Lute says, but while she would like that theory to be true, they don't really care if they don't have the same blood. They are sisters and who dare to try to say otherwise will regret even thinking about it.
Izumi shakes her head. "A good one, but no. It's a theory about All Might." Lute grimaces at the hint. She can think on a few ones, but she refuses to say the one that is on her head aloud.
Izumi chuckles at Lute grimace, already knowing what she is thinking. The oldest of the two decides to spare her sibling from such embarrasment, "Do you remember when you suggested about how I could be an All Might fangirl ? Perhaps an even bigger fangirl than you ?" Lute nods, not understanding where Izumi wants to say, until she widened her eyes.
"Wait... do you mean that theory could be true ?!" Now it was Izumi turn to grimace. She often teased her little sister about All Might. If she were an fangirl too, then Lute wouldn't hesitate to get revenge.
"I think it is possible for a few reasons, especially what happened at the rooftop. When I asked that question to Yagi, I was far scared for his answer than when I asked Aizawa. Not only that, but his answer and even what he said after my... outburst... made me feel so happy. Like I had finally achieved an dream. Even now, his words are still in my mind." Hearing the happiness on her old sister tone when speaking about Yagi made the little spirit smile. It was the first time that she saw Izumi speak with such happiness.
But then Lute gained an smirk of her own "So... if that theory is true..."
"It MAY be true, remember that." Izumi quickly cuts Lute off, already knowing what she was thinking from the spirit tone.
But Lute smirk didn't disappear, "Oh, I know that sister... and I will surely remind you about that theory when you start to tease me about being an All Might fangirl." Izumi grimaces, she is safe from Lute revenge since it's just a theory... but if it's true...
Izumi shakes her head and promises to herself to not tease Lute about it anymore. Perhaps if she do that, then her sister may have mercy on her... hopefully.
As Izumi finishes her bath and picks her clothes, she starts to think about Nemuri. The grenette admits that she started to trust the heroine a lot more recently. Perhaps she trust Nemuri in the same level as Aizawa. Because of that, she was thinking on telling her about Haiji and perhaps... about that accident.
"Lute." Said spirit turn around to meet the conflicted eyes of her old sister.
"Do you think that I should... tell Nemuri everything ?" Izumi doesn't need to tell her what she means with "everything". The younger of the two knows that she meant about Haiji and the accident that... made her like this.
When Lute nodded, Izumi knew that telling Nemuri is the right thing. Despite being yoinger than her, Lute knows who means well and who don't. It comes with having the power to sense auras... Izumi snorts when she remember that her little sister discovered what could be the biggest secret of the world by accident.
"Ok... but if i'm not able to tell her everything, do you..." Lute nodded before Izumi could finish her request, already understanding what she wanted.
Izumi smiles at her younger sister and finish up dressing before walking to the door. She took a deep breath to steel her nerves and walked towards Nemuri, who had Kuro on her arms.
If Izumi wasn't nervous about the conversation that she would have with Nemuri, she would be giggling at how Kuro seems to like the R-Rated heroine more than Aizawa, who is his owner.
Seeing the serious look on her face, Nemuri deposited Kuro on the ground, who decided to leave the room.
"Izumi, what's wrong ?" The grenette hesitates to tell the heroine, but Lute, who saw her sister hesitation, spoke for her.
"N-Nemuri-san, we want to talk about... what happened with Haiji." That made Nemuri widen her eyes, she the pat the sofa, silently asking Izumi to sit. The girl didn't refuse the invitation.
Izumi opened her mouth to speak, but Nemuri placed a hand on her shoulder before she could say a word, "Remember Izumi, you don't have to force yourself to talk if you aren't comfortable, ok ?" Her words only made the grenette more sure that she could trust the heroine.
Izumi nodded and took a deep breath before she started to tell the heroine about the raid. How she asked Lute to keep trying to find Haiji, and when the little spirit saw that someone was running away, she quickly ran after them while defeating a few goons on the way.
Izumi then told her how they found Haiji and his quirk, Oni. After that, she told Nemuri about their fight and how powerful Haiji quirk was.
The heroine admits that she was impressed on how the sisters fought against Haiji. From what Izumi said, his quirk greatly increases his strength. Even if it pales on comparation with All Might, surely it isn't an small boost of strength, and they managed to fight against him for a while. Sure, they didn't managed to truly harm him, but they still did good against him.
Izumi then arrived at the part where she let her guard down and Haiji trapped her, almost killing her.
The grenette stopped speaking and looked to Lute, who understood what her sister was asking.
"Um, in the fight, we managed to hit him with a strong attack and we thought that we defeated him. But when I realized that it wasn't the case, it was too late. He grabbed Izumi and..." The spirit tighens her hug, remembering how close she was to losing her sister...
Izumi rubs Lute hands to try and bring comfort for the spirit, reminding her that everything is ok. Nemuri watches the scene with a sad smile, it isn't hard to know that whatever happened, it affected the younger sibling badly.
Lute takes a deep breath and resumes the story "He trapped Izumi in a bear hug and started to... crush her with his strength. I tried to free her with my powers, but it was useless... I could just watch as he almost killed Izumi." The girls didn't know it, but Nemuri was angry at herself. She should have kept an better eye on those two, in fact, they shouldn't even be at that raid in first place. Raids are far different than fighting villains in a normal patrol, she should have known that and stopped Aizawa from bringing them.
Unaware of Nemuri thoughts, Lute continues "I-I thought that I was going to lose her, but then her... chest started to glow, and she managed to overpower Haiji and free herself." Nemuri pauses at what Lute said. She remembered that Aizawa and Chiyo told her about the crystal on Izumi chest, more specifically, right where her heart is.
"I-I was so happy that she escaped, but when she opened her eye, it was... purple and... with a slit." Izumi clenches her fists at the mention of that state.
Nemuri widen her eyes at that info. Until now, she thought that Izumi quirk gave her a boost on strength, speed and other aspects. She didn't expected something like an power boost or a transformation.
This time, Izumi decided to continue "I-I don't remember anything after I lost my conscience when Haiji trapped me. I just saw myself with my hand... on Haji chest..." Izumi tries to keep her tears at bay. She still needs to tell Nemuri about... that night.
Nemuri heart aches at the thought of those girls, who are the same age as an first year hero student, going through such thing. Killing is something that always happen on a hero carrier. Sooner or later, a hero will kill someone, it's inevitable. But those two shouldn't go through that now. They should be studying, getting in trouble with their parents, making friends and having fun.
Before Nemuri could say something, Izumi spoke again "Nemuri-san, there is something else that we want to tell you, b-but please, don't tell anyone." The heroine frowns at Izumi and how close the girl was to cry.
Seeing the girl hesitation, Nemuri puts a hand on her shoulder, "Izumi, there is no need to force yourself to say anything. The fact that you trust me enough to tell what happened that night already makes me happy, ok ?" Her words makes Izumi shake her head, which resulted in a frown to the R-Rated heroine.
"I-I need to tell you right now, b-but please promise me that you won't tell this to anyone else." Izumi says, her eyes refusing to let the tears that she desperately wants to release.
Nemuri heart clenches at the sight of the green haired girl in front of her. She could only nod, promising to keep it to herself.
Izumi takes a few deep breaths to try and calm herself down, it works a little, but she can't bring herself to even speak about it.
Lute comes closer to her ear to whisper "Zumi... I-I can tell Nemuri-san about it if you want." The grenette shakes her head, she will tell Nemuri herself. She only needs a moment.
The spirit frowns, but decides to respect her older sister wish.
It took a while before Izumi began "N-Nemuri-san, before we... before we met Aizawa, we were captured by villains. And those villain they... t-tortured us." Izumi voice fails her at the end as the memories of those days comes to her mind. She does her best to supress them, she can't allow herself to dwell on those thoughts now. Unfortunaly, she can't stop herself from feeling the phantom pain on her damaged eye.
As for Nemuri, she was clenching her fists in anger at that. She knows the atrocities that some villains can commit, but for those girls, who she grew to care a lot, go through something like that... And the fact that it was before they met Aizawa only makes it worse.
"Lute, she... she wasn't the way she is now... She was quirkless." And that's when Izumi can't hold her tears anymore. She can't stop herself from taking the blame of what happened that night. She can't forgive herself for killing her sister.
At the sight of Izumi tears, Nemuri quickly brought the two sisters into a hug while rubbing her back.
"I-It's m-my fault t-that Lute is l-like this ! I-I killed m-my own s-sister ! I-I d-didn't mean t-to, I-I'm s-sorry ! I-I'm so s-sorry !" Izumi says between her sobs, which also brought Lute to tears at the sight of her older sister pain.
Nemuri decided to think about what Izumi mean later. Now, those girls need comfort and she will be damned if she won't provide.
"Shhhh, it's okay, let it out. It's not your fault, Izumi. No one blames you." She says, trying to call them down.
After a while, the two sisters fell asleep while holding each other. The image of Lute and Izumi holding each other protectively would be melting Nemuri heart, if wasn't for what Izumi said.
It didn't took too much to connect the dots about what happened with Haiji and what Izumi told her. If that's the case, then she probably knows why the grenette ran away from them.
'But still, for those two go through such thing... at such young age.' Nemuri hates the fact that she couldn't do anything to help them at the time, but she will do her best to help those two to recover.
Her thoughts are interrupted when she heard the sound of the door opening and saw Aizawa entering the room.
When his eyes fell on the sisters, Nemuri could see the concern on his eyes, which made her inwardly smile at how much he cares about those two.
"Sho, we need to talk." Nemuri will keep her promise and she will keep Lute situation a secret, but she needs to tell him about what happened at the raid.
Nemuri and Aizawa took the most utterly care when bringing Izumi and Lute to their bedroom. Nemuri didn't want to interrupt their sleep when it was painful obvious how tired they were, and Aizawa didn't want them to lose a chance to sleep at peace without nightmares.
After they managed to bring the sisters without problem, they got to the living room to discuss about their situation.
Nemuri was about to speak, but Aizawa beat her to it. "How are they feeling ?"
The R-Rated Heroine let out an smile at his concerned tone, which only someone who knows the erasure hero for years could pick up, "They are feeling better now. They ate at UA and took a bath, now they only need to sleep." Aizawa nods, feeling relief at hearing those news.
But then Nemuri frowns "Sho... Just a while ago, they told me about what happened at the raid." Aizawa widen his eyes a little, but it was expected that something like that would happen. Despite her personality as a heroine, Nemuri is very good with childrens.
He nods and gestures for her to speak. She took a deep breath and began to tell about the raid. How Lute felt someone leaving and how Izumi decided to go after that person. She told him about their fight and Haiji quirk.
He was angry at how Izumi almost died due to his incompetence to keep an eye on her. But he admits that he was impressed by how they managed to fight Haiji, an opponent who was faster and stronger than the two.
When Nemuri finished telling everything, he let out a tired sigh, "So her quirk has another aspect, one that she does not control yet." Nemuri nods.
Aizawa frowns as he thinks about that while trying to push away the anger that he was feeling. Not towards the sisters, but towards himself. He shouldn't have brought them to that raid, now Izumi has to deal with the fact that she killed someone.
Leaving that aside, he needs to think on how to help Izumi to control that power. Not only for her own safety, but for the others. He doesn't know if Erasure would deactivate that transformation. But just to be sure, he will bring Nemuri and, if possible, All Might and Nezu.
Nemuri quirk, Somnambulist, would be a good way to stop Izumi without hurting her if his quirk don't work. Even if her quirk is less effective on females, it already is something.
All Might would be helpful if Nemuri quirk don't work instantly. No matter how much power boost Izumi get on that form, it won't make her stronger than All Might even if he has his injury. But he needs to be able to fight before anything.
Nezu would be helpful to figure out a way to help Izumi to control that power, but since the rat isn't a fight type hero, he will need to keep his distance to not risk an injury in case Izumi loses control.
"What are you thinking ?" Nemuri words snaps Aizawa out of his thoughts.
"Whenever we like it or not, Izumi needs to learn how to control that form. Not only for her own safety, but for everyone else too. If she lose control while on the field, it would end badly."
Nemuri sighs at his words before nodding. Even if she doesn't like it, Aizawa is right. Not only it would get rid of her fear of losing control around them, but it would also be useful to have that power under her control if another Haiji situation happen.
"Now... we only need to talk with Izumi and Lute about it." Nemuri says, making Aizawa nod. But the erasure hero missed the frown on Nemuri face when she said that. The R-Rated heroine doesn't know how they will react to this, but hopefully they will agree to this.
Izumi slowly opens her eye, blinking away the sleep as she slowly stands up.
Looking at the window, the grenette notices that it was already dark, which means that she slept through the entire afternoon, maybe more.
Izumi sighs, feeling completely refreshed for the first time in two days. She may be able to stay awake for days, but it doesn't mean that she isn't affected by that.
Izumi then looks at her left arm and let out a small smile, already knowing who was holding her arm.
Unlike her, Lute still seems fast asleep. Seems like Lute was just as tired as she was. Izumi starts to play with her little sister hair with a sad frown on her face. She remembers exactly how Lute hair was, green and short, barely reaching her shoulders. Not only that, but the grenette also remembers how she had big green eyes, just like hers. Now, thanks to that night, her body is completely blue, both her hair and eyes. Her once white sclera is now completely black, not to mention that the lower part of her body does not exist anymore, ending just a bit below her waist.
Izumi let out a bittersweet smile when she remembers the first time Lute called her 'sister'. One could even mistake them as blood sisters due to both of them having green hair and green eyes. She still remembers how happy they felt at that day. The moment that they acknowledged each other as siblings will be something that she will treasure forever.
Izumi feels Lute stir and then slowly open her eyes. She let out a yawn before looking at the grenette while rubbing her eyes. "Morning, sister."
Izumi holds back a giggle at her words. Seems like she still is waking up and didn't noticed that it was still night, "Good Evening, Lute." The younger of the two frowns in confusion before she turns to look at the window, and then towards Izumi with a embarrased expression.
Izumi finally releases her giggle at that, which made Lute crack an smile, "So... How are you feeling, Zumi ?" Said girl stops giggling and sighs as she thinks about that.
She remembers telling Nemuri about... That night. Well, not exactly telling everything since she started to cry in the middle of the story, but Izumi is sure that Nemuri understood what she meant.
She would be lying if she said that it didn't feel good to finally tell someone about it. Similar to when she told Yagi, but a bit different since she didn't just blew up everything on Nemuri face.
"I feel... Better ?" Izumi says, unsure of what to answer.
Lute nods, satisfied with what she got before floating behind Izumi and hugging her neck. "Are you hungry sis ?"
Izumi was about to answer 'no', but her stomach answered for her, which made in the oldest blush a little while the youngest let out a small giggle. "I guess that it means yes ?"
Izumi glares at Lute, but she couldn't stop her lips from twitching upwards.
Just when the grenette was about to get up, someone knocked on the door. Izumi was wondering if it was Aizawa or not, when she heard an familiar voice behind the door. "Izumi, Lute ? Are you two awake ?"
The sisters were confused when they heard Nemuri voice. At this hour, they expected that the R-Rated Heroine would have already left.
Izumi would rather not talk with Nemuri right now, but it has been a few hours since she ate that Katsudon...
Izumi sighs, there is no choice if she wants to eat something now "Yeah, we are awake Nemuri-san."
"Good ! If you are feeling hungry, I made some food for you, and there is enough for Lute too." On cue, Izumi stomach let out another remind that she was hungry. The grenette only hopes that the heroine didn't heard it.
Lute giggles at Izumi once again, and as if reading her mind, spoke, "Don't worry sis, she already left. I'm sure that she didn't hear." The grenette let out a sigh of relief at that. Silently thanking again for Lute aura sensing powers.
Not wasting time, Izumi left the bed and walked towards Aizawa kitchen. But the sight that she saw made her feel... some amount of fear and apprehension.
Nemuri and Aizawa, both of them sitting on the table and waiting for the sisters. Izumi briefly saw that there was a plate of food for her, but they were more focused on the two heroes on the table.
Nemuri smiles, trying to reassure the girls while Aizawa kept his normal expression, but Lute could see concern and relief on his eyes.
"Here Izumi, I made it myself for you, and there is enough for you too Lute." Nemuri gestures at the plate, which contains two sandwiches. Izumi admits that both sandwiches seems pretty tasty, and even Lute couldn't help but want to eat some, even if she doesn't feel hunger.
The grenette sits on the chair while Lute floats closer to the table. They both take a bite and couldn't help but let out an small hum. It's nowhere close to the taste of Lunch Runch food, but it's still pretty good.
"This is so good Nemuri-san, thank you !" Nemuri chuckles at Lute, who quickly took another bite of her sandwich.
"Thank you. I had some practice since this guy here can't cook even if his life depended on it." Aizawa eyebrow twitches at that comment. But before he could speak, Lute beat him to it.
"Wait, then how did he made those bentos that he always brought to Zumi when we got in patrol ?"
Nemuri smirks. "Why, he asked me to make them for her." As one, both sisters looked at Aizawa, who looked away.
"I had to make sure that you were well feed before the patrols. It would be irrational for you to fight with an empty stomach." Nemuri rolls her eyes at that lame excuse. Is it so hard to admit that it was because he was worried about them ?
Even Izumi and Lute found it hard to believe on his words, but they decided to finish their food in silence.
After they ate, Nemuri decided to begin, "Girls, me and Aizawa talked about what you two told me." The sisters couldn't stop themselves from being tense. Seeing that, Nemuri quickly added, "About what happened with Haiji." And just like that, they felt a bit less tense. They are glad that Nemuri truly meant to keep that for herself.
"We discussed about what to do next, and we came to the conclusion that you must learn to control that power." The sisters widened their eyes at that. Control it ? Izumi never tried to do that for many reasons. The main one is her fear of losing control and murdering innocents.
As if reading her mind, Aizawa spoke. "You don't have to worry about hurting someone. Me and Nemuri will be there to stop you if you lose control, and All Might will be there himself in case we aren't able to stop you."
Izumi frowns and looks down at the table, thinking about their suggestion. On one hand, it would be risky. Aizawa quirk may not work on her and Nemuri quirk is less effective on females. But they said that All Might would be there...
"Can we give our answer later ? We need to think about it carefully." The heroes looked at each other before nodding at Lute.
The younger sister didn't waste time and guided Izumi to their room.
When they arrived at their room, neither sisters said anything for a while. Izumi was thinking about Nemuri and Aizawa suggestion while Lute was floating close to the grenette, a frown on her face.
"...What do you think we should do, Lute ?" The younger of the two sighs and floats closer to closer to Izumi.
"I don't really think we have a choice. If we don't learn how to control that power, then sooner or later we will lose control again..." 'And end up killing someone' was left unsaid, but Izumi knew that it was true.
The grenette sighs and lies down on the bed, pondering about Lute words. Izumi knows that she was right about it, sooner or later she is gonna lose control. The true question is, who will die when that happens ?
Izumi snaps out of her thoughts when she feels something touching her shoulder. When she turns to look, she saw Lute concerned eyes.
"Zumi, it's the perfect chance for you to learn how to control it. Aizawa-san and Nemuri-san will be there to help us, not to mention that All Might himself will also be there !" Izumi lips twitches in amusement at the trace of excitment on Lute voice when she spoke about All Might.
In the end, Izumi let out a sigh. As Lute said, this is her best and perhaps only chance to control this power without hurting someone in the process, not to mention that, as she said, All Might will be there to help "Yeah... you are right Lute."
"Just as I always am !" Izumi snorts at her response and bumps her shoulder lightly.
"Brat."
Izumi takes a deep breath to try and calm her nerves at what is going to happen.
After she gave her decision to Nemuri and Aizawa, they asked her when she would like to start, and when she said tomorrow, they tried to convince her to rest for a while from the events that happened, but she wasn't having it.
In the end, Izumi convinced them to start training tomorrow, which resulted in Aizawa requesting Nezu to reserve the Ground Beta for Izumi to train, and also asked for Yagi to join them.
Thankfully, Nezu agreed and did as requested, but he did ask for an explanation for the sudden request, which they promised to explain everything tomorrow.
And now they are waiting for Yagi arrive to start the training. While the hero doesn't arrive yet, Nezu was talking with Aizawa and Nemuri about what they are going to do.
Seeing how nervous her sister was, Lute wrapped her arms around her neck, which made the grenette a bit less tense at the thought of using that power.
But then Lute perks up when she felt a familiar aura coming closer to their location 'It's him !'
Izumi looks at Lute, confused at the expression on her face, but the grenette quickly understood why she was smiling.
"All Might !" Lute shout brought the teachers and principal attention to an familiar person coming toward their direction.
Aizawa let out a sigh at the sight of the number one hero. "Finally."
Yagi puts a hand on his neck, a bit embarrased. "I'm sorry for taking a bit long to arrive. I had a few things to do."
Nezu shakes his head, "It's no problem Yagi-san. But I must ask, how much time do you still have on your hero form ?" Yagi was confused at that sudden question, but he doesn't mind answering.
"Um, I believe a bit more than two hours. Why ?" Izumi let out a sigh of relief at his answer. More than enough for the training.
"The reason why is because we found another aspect of Izumi-san quirk. One that is very powerful, but she lacks any control with it. We are here to help her to control that power." Yagi frowns at his words. Why would he be needed here if Aizawa could erase her quirk ?
"You must be asking yourself why you are needed if Aizawa-kun can just erase her quirk, right ?" Yagi flinches at how Nezu read him like an open book, which in turn made the principal chuckle.
"It's simple. Aizawa-kun erasure may not work, and while Nemuri quirk can work on Izumi, it is less effective on females, which is why you are here Yagi-san. If needed, you can stop Izumi without much trouble and without hurting her too much." His words only make Yagi frown deepen.
"Don't you think that it's a bit too much Nezu ? I mean, Cementoss could be enough to contain young Izumi if she were to lose control." This time, Izumi took a step foward.
"I-I don't have any idea how strong that new aspect is, and while I know that Cementoss is strong, I would rather not... hurt someone again." While Nezu and Aizawa nodded sadly, thinking that she was talking about Haiji. Yagi and Nemuri knew the truth, especially when the former saw how Izumi and Lute exchanged looks.
Trying to change the subject, Yagi gave the sisters a smile, "Well, if that's the case, then I will do my best to help you, young Izumi !" That brought a small smile and a nod from the grenette.
Nezu cleared his throat, drawing the attention of everyone present, "Ok then, now that Yagi-san arrived, we should start the training." The rat turned to the sisters, "Izumi-san, I know that it may be... hard for you to do this, but the best way for you to use that power is to remember how you did it the first time you used it. Try to recreate the feeling, and don't be afraid of losing control." Izumi nods and takes a deep breath. Lute tighens her hug before floating a bit closer to the teachers.
Izumi mind goes back to the night of the raid. She tries to focus exactly on the feeling of struggling against Haiji strength, and the despair in Lute voice when she shouted her name. For a second, Izumi actually felt something, but minutes passed and nothing.
She kept trying for what felt like hours, but she didn't think that she was getting closer to use that power. Soon, she threw her hands up with a groan. "It's not working, damn it !"
Nezu put a hand on his chin, thinking about what else they could do, "Maybe we could try the anger factor ? If you get angry enough, then you may tap into this power uncousciously."
Nemuri, on the other hand, had an suggestion, "Lute, you said that when Izumi used that power, the crystal on her chest glowed, right ?" When the spirit nodded, the heroine continued, "What if the crystal is the source of that power ? Maybe it can work ?"
Nezu hummed in agreement with Midnight words, "It can also work. Do you want to try Izumi-san ?" The grenette nodded and took a deep breath. At the first few minutes, nothing happened. But soon, Izumi chest started to glow a bit purple, but after that, she let out a gasp and clunched her chest.
"Izumi !" Lute was the first to reach her, and was followed by Nemuri, Aizawa and Yagi.
"Are you ok, young Izumi ?" She gave the hero a shakely nod, while Nemuri helped her to stand up.
The R-Rated heroine frowned in concern, "What happened Izumi ?" Izumi looked towards her, and the Yagi before looking down, tears pricking her eyes.
Lute frowned and hugged Izumi. An gesture that helped the grenette to be slightly more calm, "I thought I was back there, Lute, to that night." She whispered only for the spirit to hear, which made her grit her teeths in anger and sadness.
The younger sister could only tighen her hug and whisper to reassure Izumi that she was here, and that All for One was gone for good. They will never see his face again.
Yagi put a hand on Izumi shoulder, bringing the grenette attention to the hero, "Young Izumi, maybe we should stop for now. Tomorrow, if you are feeling better, we can try again." The hero frowned when Izumi shaked her head.
"No I-I can still continue." That made everyone present frown at her.
"Izumi, please, rest a little. It's clear that this attempt took a lot from you." Midnight frowned when Izumi shaked her head and shakely got up.
Lute frowned and look at Izumi eyes, "Please sister, listen to them. We don't need to figure how to use this power now." Her attempt was better than the others, since Izumi actually considered resting, but then she shaked her head.
"Please, I know what I did wrong. This time, I know that I can do it !" The heroes looked at each other, silently thinking if they should try one more time or not.
After a few seconds, Aizawa let out a sigh, "Ok then, problem child. We will try one more time, but if doesn't work, then we will stop for today, no buts, got it ?" Aizawa said with a firm tone, making Izumi nod.
The heroes and Lute gave the teen some space, but Lute was still a bit closer than the most, refusing to stay far than this.
Izumi took a deep breath and closed her eyes. A few minutes had gone by, and her chest started to glow. She was starting to breath faster and sweating, but she didn't stop.
'I can't stop, I need to control this... I will prove to them that i'm not a monster, I won't kill anybody that I care again !'
The heroes were a bit surprised at how Izumi was doing fine at this attempt, but they were started to get worried at her condition. Yagi, who already was transformed into All Might, had a frown on his face, "MAYBE WE SHOULD STOP NOW ? YOUNG IZUMI DOESN'T SEEM TO BE IN A GOOD CONDITION." Nezu was about to agree, but before he could speak, Izumi opened her uncovered eye, who was now purple and with a slit on it. Everyone, aside from All Might, couldn't supress a shiver on their spine when Izumi looked at them.
Lute let out a gasp when Izumi fell on her knees and put her hands on the floor, she floated towards her and put a hand on her back, worry floading her senses, "Izumi ! Fight it ! Don't give up !"
Izumi clenched her teeth, trying to focus on Lute voice, but it was getting harder to stay conscious, "Ah, AGH ! LUTE !"
Everyone watched in horror at how Izumi body started to become purple, and what seemed to be darkness covering them both. All Might was the first to recover, "AIZAWA ! ERASE YOUNG IZUMI QUIRK, NOW !"
All Might shout managed to snap the hero out of his stupor, and in a second, Aizawa activated his quirk. The second he did it, the shadows around Izumi faded away, and so did the purple energy covering Izumi. The teen was uncounscious, seemly unharmed, and the crystal on her chest was not glowing anymore.
But Lute was nowhere to be seen.
Chapter end.
Phew, finally did it. Now that I think about it, this was my first cliffhanger of my stories ! How did I do it ? Was it good ?
Seems like there is more to Izumi powers than just some power up on her speed, strength and other attributes, but what could be... And what could have happened to Lute ? Find out on the next chapter, bye !
