Chapter 12:
Abandoned building:
"Stairwell's—collapsing—fall with—get away—from the fire." Ron thought. Batman was falling from the blast. He sees A old man that was sleeping under the stairs. "That old man—doesn't have A chance—can't help him." Ron thought. He was feeling gilty that he could not save A helpless person. But his training took over. Stay alive help others if you can. "Can't help him." Ron thought.
Batman started to roll his body so that he can land on his feet from the fall. "Grieving—can't help him." Ron thought. A small fireball fell on his utility belt. It coat on fire. "Oh no." Ron thought. Worried about the belt exploding.
"Thermite—in my belt—catching." Ron thought. Trying to get the belt off as fast as possible. "Get it off." Ron thought. When it came off he threw it as far away from him as possible. The belt started burning very quickly. "Still have weapons—in cape—and boots—need them—if I survive this." Ron thought.
Batman lands on this feet. He hears something hollow. The sign on the metal door says "Danger. Electricity 80,000 watts." "Metal—trap door's metal—might be enough—to protect me—provided that warning is A lie." Ron thought. Taking out A lock pick from the emergency tool kit. Batman quickly tried to open the lock.
"Lucky—keep the pick in my glove—lucky." Ron thought. With the lock open. Batman took off the chain and opened the trap door.

One of the paramedics treated her head. "He will be soon, anyway. Branden and the collection of sociopaths he calls A SWAT team will see to that." Kim thought.
"Commissioner's orders. That's what Branden told me." Kim thought. Kim continued to direct the first responders. "The commissioner of the Try-state area wants A corpse." Kim thought. "This is unit three—we are approaching target area." Branden said. The SWAT team marched inside the building.
"Watch where you're going, you." Kim said. Running towards the team. Dodging some paramedics that were bringing A injured person inside the ambulance. "Lieutenant Possible—you shouldn't be standing just yet." One of the paramedics said. trying get Kim to go to the hospital. "I'm all right …" Kim said. Kim new that she was too late to stop the team going in and trying to kill Batman.
"Batman. He's made enemies of every criminal in the Try-state area—and nearly every elected official." Kim thought. Kim was starting to regret going after the Batman. "They've only got him cornered because he got hurt saving an old woman's life." Kim thought. Kim new it was her fault. "They—I mean We, of course." Kim thought.

Abandoned apartment:
The SWAT team are inside the building looking for Batman. "We have entered the lobby—no sign of him yet." Branden said. Into his radio. "Unit one, reporting—second floor's A mess—nothing living." One of the GL agent said. "Unit two, reporting—found A body under the water heater—just an old wino." Another GL agent said.
"Keep it tight—keep it tight." One of the SWAT team member said. "Over here—give me some light." Another SWAT team member said. The SWAT team members went to where the second team member said. Flashing the flashlight of their rifles. "Just A chimney." One of the SWAT team member said. "No—down there-over there—the floor." Another SWAT team member said.
The flashlights flash on the trap door. "If he got down there—trapdoor's metal—he might've survived." The third SWAT team member said. "So perforate it, soldier." Branden said. All the members of the SWAT team pointed their guns at the trap door. "Units one and two—stay where you are—this is only precautionary fire." Branden said. "If he's down there—he trapped himself." One of the SWAT team member said.
Branden opened the trap door. They saw stairs leading down. Branden ordered his men to go down and check it out. "Praeger, Fenton, Sussman, Downside. Move it." Branden said. Four of the six Team members walked down the stairs. "Checking basement area—no trouble yet." Branden said. On his radio. "Another wino up here—he's cold." One GL agent said. "Wait –got something." The same agent said. "No—it's just A dog." The same agent said.
"No trouble yet." Branden said. "Steady Burst if you find him—no matter how dead he looks—go for the chest—we'll need his face for identification." Two of the team members stayed upstairs. They did not noticed Batman grabbing them from behind. "Jesus—another wino—they said the place was deserted." One GL agent said. "Super must've lived here." One of the team member said. ""Nobody home now." Another team member said. "Nothing here, men. We're coming back up." Branden said. On his radio.
"I like you right where you are, Branden." Batman said. on the radio. Everyone was shocked when they heard his voice. Everyone ran upstairs but could not get the trap door open. "No use—something's on top of it." One of the team member said. "Units one and two—converge on lobby—he's here." Branden said. On the radio. Batman was still talking on the radio. "Hold your fire. You'd only kill your own men." Batman said. "Too many people have died already. Have the other squads withdrawn. I can't guarantee their safety. Batman said. On the radio.
"Shoot on sight." Branden said. On the radio. Batman took out A capsule and dropped it down A hole. "Here, sir—A hole in the wall—must've been A fire place here once." One of the team member said. "Must've kicked through—climbed up the chimney—wha." The same team member said. "Gas masks fast." Branden said.

Outside:
"Unit one—do you copy." Commissioner Loeb said. "I think Branden needs some help, Lieutenant." A Global Justice agent said. "We can't help, Merkel. Orders. Breaks my heart." Kim said. with A smile on her face. Glad that Batman was still alive. "Stand back. Stand back—let us do our job." One of the Global Justice agent said. at the parameter. "Sir—he's taken out unit three … the whole unit, commissioner." The helicopter pilot said.
"This will not do. This will not do at all." Commissioner Loeb said. "What's wrong with our marksman? I trust you didn't get me A blind marksman did you?" Commissioner Loeb asked. "No, sir. He's our best man. But there are A hundred places to hide in there." The helicopter pilot said. "Until the sun is higher in the sky. It won't be long, sir." The helicopter pilot said. the helicopter continued circling around the building.

Inside the building:
Batman was treating his angered leg. Ripping a little piece of his cape and wrapped it around his leg. A cat was looking at him. "The only other survivor of the attack shares A shrinking shadow with me." Ron thought. Hiding under the stairs that lead up the building. "I owe him an apology." Ron thought. Looking at the cat.
"I've made A mess of things. Let it all get out of hand." Ron thought. Tying the make shift bandage as tight as he could. "The enemy is closing in, relentless unstoppable …" Ron thought. Being as quit as he can so that the SWAT team won't find him. "Through A crack in the wall I look at him." Ron thought. Seeing that the sun was coming up.
"With my belt, I lost my rope, my thermite, my tear gas, even my Batarangs." Ron thought. Thinking of A way out. "I'm down to the blowgun in my boot." Ron thought. Continuing to think of how to get out of this stitch. Hearing footsteps Batman got his head in the game. "Step it up." One of the SWAT team member said. "Careful—stairs are giving." Another SWAT team member said. Using the sound of the footsteps Batman counted ten men total.
"Mmmmeeeeoooowwww." The cat said. Startling all ten members of the SWAT team. They all pointed their rifles at the cat. "What the hell." One of the SWAT team member said. "Just A cat, man." Another SWAT team member said. "It's the Bat we're after." Another SWAT team member said. "Keep an eye out." Another SWAT team member said. All ten team members are in the lobby. They spread out looking for Batman.
"Knew he wouldn't stay quiet. Siamese." Ron thought. "Down to the blowgun and its three darts." Ron thought. Batman looked at his left boot. "And an unofficial invention of Team Possible Foundation." Ron thought. Batman moved his left hand to reach for the heel of his left boot. "Haven't tested it for this great A distance. Or for use in daylight." Ron thought. Removing A devise from the heel and brought it close enough to see it.
"Too bad I can't afford to patent it. I'd make A fortune." Batman activated the devise. "But then, I already have A fortune." Ron thought
(RS)
Batcave:
A sound that only dogs and other animals can hear. The sound waves that were coming from the devise reached the ears of the bats that lived in the abandon train station. 'If I didn't, I couldn't have built the devise. If I never found the abandon train station. The batcave I call it." Ron thought. Sounds of bats waking up can be heard. "It's full of bats. Extraordinary creatures, bats nearly blind." The sounds started getting louder and louder. "They are sensitive to A range of sound far beyond own hearing." Ron thought. The bats opened their eyes. "Took me weeks to find an ultrasonic tone that attracts them. All of them ." Ron thought. The bats opened their wings. "Pissed off Rufus because he can hear the sound waves also. Cost me a lot of cheese" Ron thought. The bats took off like bats out of hell.

Abandoned apartment:
"The abandoned train station is A few miles away from here. They'll take A few minutes to get here." Ron thought. Batman took out the blowgun form the same boot. "Should things go well." Ron thought. Loading the blowgun with one of the three darts. "Wait … Wait." Ron thought. Ready to strike if he has too. "Let them waste all the time they want." Ron thought. The members of the SWAT team kept looking for Batman.
"Mmmmeeeeoooowwww." The cat said. Again the SWAT team member turned around and pointed their rifles at the cat. "Steady men—just the cat again." One of the SWAT team member said. He grabbed the rifle to stop one of his team member from shooting the cat. "Getting on my nerves." The SWAT team member who pointed the rifle at the cat. The ten SWAT team members gave up on looking for Batman and went to get the support beam that Batman put on top of the trap door.
"Whoever Batman is—he's stronger than A." One of the SWAT team member said. He was trying to left the log. "Quit—he could be anywhere." Another SWAT team member said. He was on the other side of log also trying to left it. "Said he was in the chimney—there." The third SWAT team member said. hearing someone climbing up the chimney. "Hold it, you idiot." Branden said. Climbing out of the chimmey.
"Drop the beam—they weren't quick enough—they're useless." Branden said. Taking off his gas mask. "We're lucky he didn't kill them." Branden said. The cat ran back to Batman. "Now fan out—you're leaving yourselves wide open. Hhkkk." Branden said. A dart hit him on his neck. The other SWAT team members pointed their rifles from the direction that the dart came from.
"The slightest dose of anaconda on the darts –enough to put A man to sleep." Ron thought. Branden hit the ground like A rock. Down for the count. "For A day or so." Ron thought. Rowling backwards and take cover. "Twelve men left—two darts." Ron thought. They all started firing their rifles. Bullets started flying. In his direction. "No good." Ron thought. Getting behind A metal safe that fell from one of the floors. "One bullet—will make all the difference." Ron thought. A bullet hit A few millimeters from his head. "They've got thousands." Ron thought.
Batman noticed the cat and went to get it out of the way of fire. "There." One SWAT team member said. "Can't see him—where." Another SWAT team member said. "Moves so fast." A third SWAT team member said. "Dark." A fourth SWAT team member said. "Could be anywhere." A fifth SWAT team member said. "Wha—dam that cat." The sixth SWAT team member said. trying to kill the cat.
Batman grabbed the cat. Went to slide near A open window. "There." One SWAT team member said. "So fast." The second SWAT team member said. Batman threw the cat out of the window knowing that it will land on its feet and out of harm's way. "Tagged him—close in." One SWAT team member said. A bullet hit Batman in the back of his arm. "Commissioner for god's sake come in." Kim said. "Those idiots are firing out the windows—for god's." Kim said. A bullet hit one of the Global Agents in the left shoulder. "Markel." Kim said.
The SWAT team members stopped firing and formed up. Their rifles pointing at Batman. They started walking towards him. "Got him." One SWAT team member said. "Get in close—cut that bastard in half." The second SWAT team member said. "Got him man, we've got him." The third SWAT team member said. Batman was surrounded. No way to go.
Batman was near one of the supporting beams. Grabbing his arm. "Groggy—losing—too much blood." Ron thought. Coming up with an idea. "had to—put A bullet—in my good leg—didn't they." Ron thought. Waiting until they got close enough. "Forget it—ignore it." Ron thought. Getting ready to strike. "Put what's left into it." Ron thought. Batman kicked the beam. The entire floor came down on top of the SWAT team.
Batman jumped out of the way. "You're the one." Batman said. Punching A SWAT team member in the stomach as hard as he could. Knocking the wind out of him. "Who tried to shoot the cat." Batman said. Taking advantage of the dirt covering the room. Batman hides in the dust. "Can't see." One SWAT team member said. blind from the dust. "Can't move—get me out." The second SWAT team member said.

Outside:
The SWAT team member that Batman punched goes through the week wall and outside. "The crowd is all screams and angry shouts. Then, I hear A wrecking ball take out the wall." Kim thought. Seeing the SWAT team member go out the wall and onto the street. "And A hardware store clatter across the street." Kim thought. The crowd roars in cheers. "A cheer goes up. They've made A hero out of him." Kim thought. Smiling when she heard the sound.
The sun was high enough where everyone could see everything. "Then the cheering disintegrates." Kim thought. Hearing A sound that she never heard before. Or anyone else for that matter. "And the screaming starts again." Kim thought. Everyone looked up in the direction of where the noise was coming from. They all saw the sky darken by the wings of many bats.
"Art—get out of the way." One SWAT team member said. Trying to point his rifle at Batman. "Look." Another SWAT team member said. Pointing his finger at the sky. Batman kicked the third SWAT team member in the face. "What the hell." Someone said. "Up there." Someone said. "My god." Someone said.
The bats started attacking both the crowd and cops. Everyone ran to take cover. Kim dragged the injured GJ agent inside her car to protect them from the bats. Closed the door. She felt the car move because Batman was climbing the car to get away.
"My lord, what's." the helicopter pilot said. looking at the bats attacking everyone. "There—down there—he's got A motorcycle—get after him or I'll have you shot." Commissioner Loeb said. "Get after him." Commissioner Loeb said. The helicopter chased after Batman with two squad cars.
"Commissioner Loeb chased A cloud of bats for twelve blocks. When the cloud broke up, he found out that was all he was chasing." Kim thought. Reading the report that was on her desck. "Somewhere along the way the Batman must've taken A turn—and told his pets to keep going." Kim thought. Kim imagined the Batman driving A GJ motorcycle. "Always eager to please the Commissioner, detective Swanson pursued the bats to the bitter end." Kim thought. Imagined the two squad cars drove off the docks and crashed into the Gotham river. All GJ agents A ok. "And speaking of bitter ends." Kim thought.
"Every member of Branden's team, every agent, and everybody in the crowd were vaccinated for their bat bites." Kim thought. Remembering that she also ended up lying on her stomach in the hospital bed with her mom injecting the needle in her bubble but. "Never have so many had so much trouble sitting down." Kim thought.
"The owner of A nearby men's store opened up his shop, four hours later, to find A three piece suit missing." Kim thought. Batman abandoned the motorcycle and went inside the store to take some civilian clothes to blend end. Kim went to take the store owner statement. "And payment for it sitting on his cash register." Kim thought.
"Four of Branden's men were hospitalized with broken bones." Kim thought. Remembering the SWAT team members on ER rooms. "Pratt—who Batman had punched through A brick wall—suffered from five broken ribs and internal bleeding." Kim thought. Seeing Pratt in the OR room.
"The dead winos had no relatives to complain about their firebombing." Kim thought. Seeing the dead bodies lying on the floor of the crime scene building. "Everyone who would've ordered Branden or Loeb up on charges remains unavailable to me by appointment or phone." Kim thought. Finished reading the report and putting it back in the file cabinet.
