/Many Years back/
It was ghost-quiet, dark and lit by a collection of candlelight that scattered about the manor. A green glass vine wrapped around a golden snake glimmers in the finger of the hooded figure. The firelight bouncing quickly as The hooded figured carried a small bundle on its back and moved nimbly and quickly like a thief in the night.
"He is gone" the man coarsely said, he sighed and looked over to the little girl that wore the look of melancholy. "Years will past and we will persist Elle" he mouthed, then kneeled down to sooth the little girl.
"Will I see him again Father?" The girl asked, half teary as she looked at the distance past the field.
"He will send you letters my dear, it's just not safe, you must always look for the golden snake."
"Why must he leave papa?" She asked persistently.
"It is the King's order... your mother has done some unimaginable things you must not worry for he is to entertain Prince Rabadash, to restore our family name." he said vaguely to the little girl.
Bleak and traumatizing the girl did not understand what her father meant. Only when her tears flowed once more that her father finally stood up and paced back into the fireplace. He was not a normal man that gave comfort and affection, it is as he was, a man of noble standing only to be stripped from his titles that very night.
