I wanted to make a one-shot story for Pride Month and this is what I landed on. Literally, the idea came to me one night and I started writing.
I had a Gwen/Courtney story in mind and I have most of it planned out, but I'm unsure if I'm actually going to follow through with, at least before June.
Anyway, let's get into it.
Raj lay on his back, on the couch. He looked up. "So…now what?"
Bowie smirked as he moved closer, climbing over the hockey bro and straddling him. "Now…" He said, lightly. "You just sit back and let the fun begin."
"Oh." He stayed silent for a moment. "So…when you say fun, what does that mean exactly?"
Bowie chuckled and leaned over to kiss Raj right on the forehead.
Raj blushed but didn't say anything. He was processing what just happened. "Oh, that kind of fun."
"Raj, have you ever made out with someone before?"
"Not really. You're my first boyfriend, so I don't know what to expect."
Bowie smiled. "Well, you're in luck. I have a lot of experience with this sort of thing."
Raj looked up at his boyfriend slightly and frowned. However, he quickly hid it when he saw Bowie leaning towards him. He kissed him again. This time on the mouth. He stayed there.
Raj still wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. He looked around before his eyes landed on his boyfriend. He was deeply invested in what was going on. Raj didn't want to interrupt him, before he suddenly realized something.
Bowie felt Raj squirm underneath him. He quickly pulled himself up. "What's wrong?"
The hockey bro was trying to catch his breath. "Sorry…" He wheezed. "I couldn't breathe for a second."
His boyfriend sighed but smiled. "Raj, you can breathe through your nose."
"Oh, right. I forgot."
Bowie laughed. "Do you want me to continue?"
"Um…sure." He thought for a moment. "Am I supposed to kiss you back? I'm still not sure how this works."
"Yes," Bowie said gently. "You can kiss me back if you want."
Raj nodded and his boyfriend leaned over him again. This time, Raj engaged in the kiss. He loved the way his lips were pressed against Bowie's. They were soft and felt really comforting. Raj almost felt himself getting lost in the blissful moment.
He then brought himself back to make sure he was breathing through his nose.
Bowie was also lost in the moment. His hands were cupping Raj's face. But as it continued, they started to wander down his neck, and then his shoulder. He squeezed them lightly. He went down further Raj's arms until he was touching his bicep. Still maintaining the make-out session, he peeked open an eye, getting a good look as he continued to squeeze his boyfriend's muscles.
He heard a light mumble and turned his attention back to Raj. They separated. "What's wrong?"
"You…were touching my arm?"
Bowie chuckled and blushed. "Sorry, I got distracted. You have really nice muscles."
"Oh…" Raj's face went red. "Do you like them?"
"Of course, silly."
"Do you want to feel more?" Before Bowie could respond, Raj suddenly grabbed the hem of his hockey jersey and pulled it up. It took a moment for the bits of his jersey that were trapped under Bowie's weight to come out, but eventually, he was able to reveal the rest of his torso.
Raj might as well have opened the Arc of the Covenant and it would've elicited the same reaction.
He was now staring at Raj's insanely chiseled physique and toned abs. The part of Bowie's brain that made him speak suddenly malfunctioned and he just stared, red-faced, at his boyfriend's six-pack.
"Bowie?"
The flamboyant flirt shook himself out of his trance. "Y-Yeah?"
"You okay?"
It took a moment for Bowie to regain his sense. "W-What? Yes…I'm…I-I…this was just…oh, wow. Sorry…just…warn me next time you do that."
"Sure thing." Raj grinned, which made Bowie smile warmly.
"So, I can touch them?" He asked. His boyfriend nodded. Bowie's hand slowly moved towards the tan stones that were Raj's abs. As soon as it came in contact, Bowie felt just how firm they actually were. He moved his hand again, finding the bumps between each ab. He couldn't help but giggle as he traced his finger along the edges. To Bowie, it was true euphoria.
He continued until his eyes glanced up at Raj. Bowie frowned when he noticed he looked deep in thought. He immediately pulled his hand away. "What's wrong?"
Raj blinked and then locked eyes with his boyfriend. He tried to muster a smile. "Sorry. I…I was thinking about something."
"What is it?"
The hockey bro hesitated before he saw the concern on his boyfriend's face. He sighed. "When you said…this wasn't your first time doing this sort of thing, it made me a little sad."
Now Bowie was worried. "Why?"
"Because you've probably done it with people more experienced than me. You probably wanted to be with someone who…knows what he's doing."
"Raj…" Bowie sighed. "I am literally running my hands through your abs."
"I know, but…I just think you deserve better." He frowned. "Someone smarter, better looking and…just knows how to make you happy. And I don't really know how to do this, so…maybe you'd be happier with someone who did."
Bowie looked down at his boyfriend. His mouth was hanging open. He blinked. To Raj, it looked like he was fighting back tears. Bowie wiped his eyes and pointed a finger directly at his boyfriend's face. He looked stern. "Don't…ever say that about yourself. Raj, you make me so unbelievably happy. I love your innocence, I love your smile, I love how invested you are in hockey…except when you get in fights."
"Hey, I told you. That's part of the game."
Bowie exhaled. "I know, but that doesn't mean I like seeing your pretty face get punched." Raj blushed. Bowie continued. "And look, what you lack in book smarts, you more than make up for in other kinds of smarts. Would someone who isn't smart know how to lead his team into a cyclone formation into a sweep and score the winning shot for his team?"
Raj managed a smile. "I did do that, didn't I?"
"You did. So, please don't say I don't deserve you or that you aren't smart enough for me. If I believed that, I wouldn't be here trying to make out with you."
Raj sighed. "I get it. Thanks."
Bowie smiled back at his boyfriend, but it didn't last long as he looked away. "Raj…about what I said earlier, about having experience with this, I…I didn't mean to make you feel insecure."
Raj sat up, maneuvering himself so he was resting his back against the armrest.
"The truth is, I have experience with making out, but…you're my first real boyfriend."
The hockey bro gasped. "Wait, really?"
Bowie nodded. "Most of those guys were either practicing for when they actually got a partner or looking for a quick fix to make themselves feel better or…it was me trying to make myself feel better." He pulled his knees up and hugged them. Raj moved in closer. Bowie continued. "I was happy to offer my services, but…a part of me didn't think I would wind up here, with an actual boyfriend. Everyone left, so I didn't think someone would want to stick around."
"Why?"
Bowie looked at him. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, why didn't they stick around? I think any guy would be lucky to be with you. You're confident, smart- like, really smart- and you're a really caring person. I mean, you nearly broke down the barrier when you saw me get in that hockey fight."
Bowie stared at his boyfriend, his eyes suddenly glowing.
Raj continued. "And you're also cool, cute and…I-I know you said not to say mean things about myself, so I won't, but…I do feel really lucky to have you as a boyfriend and…" He looked over. "Bowie?"
The flamboyant flirt now had his hand covering his mouth. He sniffed and Raj could see tears streaming down his face. He panicked. "Oh my god. Bowie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
But his boyfriend put a hand up. "R-Raj…" He choked. "It's okay. It's just…that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." He turned to him, still crying, and managed a smile. "Thank you."
Raj beamed and scooted over to his boyfriend, locking him in a gentle hug. Bowie returned it and closed his eyes, embracing the warmth that Raj gave him. He felt Raj kiss him on the side of the head and hummed. Both felt immensely happy and didn't want the moment to end.
Sniff
Bowie's eyes opened. He looked up at his boyfriend. Raj had his eyes closed and was still hugging him.
Sniff
There it was again. Followed closely by the sound of someone blowing their nose.
Raj was somehow unbothered by the situation, but Bowie was now concerned. He craned his neck to find the source of the noise. He turned his head behind the coach and gasped. "Wayne?"
Raj also looked to see what Bowie had found.
Sure enough, there was Wayne, sitting in a fold-out chair, with a box of tissues in one hand and a crumpled mess of mucus-filled ones on the ground. He was also crying immensely.
"Wayne?!" Bowie screamed. "H-Have you been here this entire time?!"
The blonde hockey bro nodded. "Rajie asked me to be here."
Bowie was confused and looked up at his boyfriend.
"Oh, right." Raj suddenly remembered. "I asked Wayne to come for moral support."
"For a make-out session?!"
Wayne interrupted. "I was going to give Raj some advice but you seemed to know what you were doing. Didn't want to ruin the moment."
Bowie looked at Wayne, then Raj. He didn't say anything.
Finally, he cracked a smile and burst out laughing. He pressed against Raj's chest. Raj was surprised to see his boyfriend cackling like a maniac. He looked over at Wayne, who gave a thumbs-up.
Raj shrugged and started laughing himself. He fell back onto the couch, with Bowie now lying on top of him.
Wayne respectfully watched, in complete silence.
BowRaj I think is a great couple. I like how they handle the overall relationship, with Raj coming out to Wayne, and the couple itself is cute. I love how Bowie straight-up told Raj to pause their potential relationship because he doesn't want to risk hurting him in the game. It's such a refreshing change as opposed to seeing another relationship get torn about because of the game.
Like I said, this was kind of an idea that randomly hit me. Hope you like it and let me know what you think overall.
