Gregory was currently sitting on Sweet P's head while he's chasing one of the box cat in circles.
Sweet P – He hehe he! Look I'm gonna catch kitty tail!
Sweet P once saw uncle Jake trying to catch his own tail. It was really fun to watch!
And now it's funny to do that in action!
They aren't usually around the crop fields, then again many different people or non people walk by there...
These ones apparently tagged along with them.
Tree Trunks – Sweet little apples, it's so adorable watching our babies playing together.
Princess Bubblegum – Sure, I guess it'll be good for Gregory to have an older brother of sorts...
Although he already has them in plenty, including Stormo...
Sweet P then gently puts Gregory down as one of the box cats licks his cheeks...
But then an electric current comes out turning a cat into a ball.
Sweet P - *gasp* A playing ball!
Sweet P was now jiggling
Gregory initially didn't go close to Sweet P, but after his belly play? Gregory had a lot of fun.
She still can't figure out where do those rando currents jolt out from...
Now as for the two of them, Princess and Tree Trunks aren't really friends given their past donked up scandals... Still they keep working together on her space colony project for her citizens.
And now their boys are also pretty much childhood friends.
TT – Speaking of boys, you know Finn's been on a wild mood lately.
PB – Meh, it's Finn. Said something about tying loose ends, then having a new adventure.
TT – Oh what a young energy. Reminds me of my pirate years..
PB – You, a pirate...
TT – There's much about me you don't know Bubblegum.
PB could say the same.
Bubblegum tends to be overprotective and clingy...
Bubblegum knew this.
Marceline knew this.
Everyone knew this.
Not everyone says it to her face though.
Then there are some like Tree Trunks.
PB – Okay and how long do we have to wait out for them out here?
Tree Trunks – It's usually him that calls upon me. But sometimes I call them from these fields...
Bonnie looks around the crop circles, wondering if they mean something. Some encrypted code?
TT – Think of it like an address. They are usually quick to answer... unless maybe they don't feel comfortable around certain gums who tried bonking them?
PB – Wha? Tree Trunks, I already said sorry-
TT – I said maybe. And I know that but my space hub needs time. Be patient. OOO is not going anywhere anytime soon unless your OOO doomsday plan is coming up soon?
PB – I don't know. It's hard to tell, whether any artificial disasters or planet surface becoming toxic... maybe even something from space comes out?
Tree Trunks could also see that Princess was very anxious.
TT – So it may happen a waaay later?
PB – Like I said, I wanna be all geared up for anything.
After hearing all of that and looking over to Gregory and Sweet P, she looks up at PB again.
TT – Say, did you ever had any interaction with your mother Princess?
That caught PB by surprise a little.
Her mother?... She didn't really give that much thought to that outside of her and Neddy coming out of her.
PB – Why so much interest in my persona all of a sudden?
TT – Sudden but this curious elephant wants to know what parent groomed the ruler of our kingdom?
Tree Trunks does need classify as Candy Kingdom citizen despite living outside of it's borders.
Still, there were a lot of things that Tree Trunks could've put in that question.
Why is she so protective? Obsessive? Pushing everyone away?...
PB – Well... confidentially, Mother Gum made me and brother Neddy nearly thousand years ago and I've been protecting them in dungeons under the kingdom ever since... until it gone mad mad. Finn and the others destroyed it, that's pretty much it.
Mother Gum can be anywhere amongst the clouds right now, if not one with the sky.
Trees Trunks felt rather underwhelmed and confused
TT – So you were left to do all the job for your parent?
She simply shrugged
TT – Your mother didn't look out for you.
PB – Well duh, it was always me looking out for other's not the other way around... well sometimes Marceline, Finn and Jake came to rescue me bit that was pretty much it.
Looks like they both have mommy issues... Tree Trunks didn't talk to her mother after what Wyatt did.
They were late to notice but Sweet P seemingly overheard them.
PB sighs, surprised she let herself spill the beans here.
PB – You know what, I've waited enough for today... if he'll answer you, just tell him for me.
She then walked over to pick Gregory.
PB – Sorry little lich, but Gregor and me gotta go home for now. Good luck with your graduation soon.
Sweet P wanted to play more but simply said
"Okay, thank you princess... bye Grory"
He gently pets Gregory's head who giggled
TT – Hold up your gums Bubblegum.
Tree Trunks said it in her ever so motherly voice.
TT – I asked because I worry too. For your little fella.
Bubblegum knows she meant Gregory.
TT – Remember when I said, we can never be friends but we can respect each other's mothers and infinite promise of cosmos?...
That pretty much summed up their relationship.
TT - After hearing your childhood story, I still stick to that... but now we also should remember to be better for the sake of our children.
PB didn't know what else to tell her other than the regular.
PB – Well you know me, with my big brains. Like I told Marceline, I'm trying. Okay? I'll see ya at the Movie Club.
She took steps back before calling out
"THE MARROW!"
A giant falcon with many shades of brown feathers flies down before they board and leave off.
With her flying off, she didn't hear Tree Trunks whispering
"I just hope he won't grow up having only his brains"
But Tree Trunks now also is left with a tough question from her boy.
Sweet P – Mama, what is my grandmama like?
Tree Trunks – Sweetie, I may tell you that... some other time.
Then of course her and Sweet P were transported to the skies by her space man.
Meanwhile Bubblegum flew off to her kingdom, today was her turn to look after Gregory.
PB – Try fly slowly, I don't want any accidents here...
'For sake of our children'
PB - Gah stupid, that was out of character for me. And who does Tree Trunks think she is? Doesn't she have her divorcees to worry about?
The marrow makes sounds
PB – Yes you, who else...
She looks at Gregory who held onto her tightly. Perhaps fearful of heights...
PB held him in front of her , trying to pat him or coax him down.
PB – There, there... honestly you are so easy to frighten.
She wasn't like that at all, she was full of wonders and curious about all the possibilities that surrounded her world... at the start.
Before the kingdom, and then...
And then...
...
And then it was always a worry it'd all collapse one day...
The only time she had a relief moment was when she de-aged to a child, had fun time with Finn like fellow kids in the school yard.
That was a good memory from a brief moment in time.
She missed that apparently... and looking at Gregory, does she want this for him?
'Nobody looked out for you'
Her face darkened
PB - Perhaps I spoke too soon... you're not the only one with fears...
She looks up at the sky clouds, wondering if mother gum is really gone
PB – That's just silly... then again OOO was always silly like that. You'll like it here
She sees Gregory was laying down on the Marrow
Did he fell asleep?
Based on Marrow's sounds, Gregory probably holds too tight.
"Hi Princess!"
PB – Huh? Oh hey Fox!
"Hey can I also come to the movie club!?"
PB – Yeah sure! Just bring your own drinks!
"Got it thanks your highness!"
They flew slowly so he managed to get an invite.
PB – Sometimes I'm tired of hearing 'your highness or your royal majesty...', I have a name. If not Bonnie then Mrs Bonnibel at least.
"Boobie!"
PB stared at Gregory
"Uhm nope no no. You won't be calling me that. It's BoNNIE."
"Bobbie!"
"No Bonnie! Bonnibel!"
"Boogie bell!"
PB -... *giggles* I'm not hearing the end of it when Marcy hears these nicknames.
When she arrived to the castle, she was met by Aunt Lolly... and Finn?
PB – Oh hey, big guy. Didn't think you'd be here.
Finn – Yeah thought I'd come by to talk to you on some things.
Aunt Lolly – How did it go with little Sweet Pig-Trunks?
PB – Gregory sure liked it...
Finn noticed her tone
Aunt Lolly – Well anything on your mission?
PB – Nope, my first bad impression didn't yet give.
Aunt Lolly – Ouh, shane. No problem, there's always next time.
PB then gave Gregory over to Aunt Lolly who tries puts him on ground.
Gregory fell on his butt however.
He still has to learn walking without running, and standing too.
Finn – Am I the only one who smells something?
They noticed then that Gregory's green shirt darkened...
Banana Guard 1 – Humans do release liquid!
Banana Guard 2 - I knew it! Someone owes me!
Finn coughs up at them
PB – Well you know the drill, change of dispersed . Clean the green shirt though, he seems to like wearing it.
She did that leaving Finn and Bonnie in private.
Finn – Bonnie is something wrong?
Finn sounded concerned, and she wasn't surprised anymore. From the first day they met he looked out for her... maybe as a crush but now as a friend. He is like Neddy to her but less nervous breakdowns.
PB – Finn, do you remember when the Lich escaped?
Finn nodded, although not liking to hear that name.
PB – When I de-aged to a little princess, you and I had time of our lives.
Finn – Yeah, well I was still green there so...
PB – I miss that time I guess.
Finn looks surprised "Really? Must be something serious if you say that"
PB – Sometimes I am tired of being a princess Finn. No time for anything but work...
Finn – Ah there we go again.
PB – Excuse me Finn?
Finn – Bonnie, after everything that happened... I understand how you feel. I mean, look at me. I once thought solving a problem meant kicking up butts, but I was wrong. And I didn't learn that on my own. Maybe you should just surround yourself with things that don't dampen the spirit.
PB – Hmm like film club.
Finn – That but not only.
PB looked outside to see bubbles still blowing out off top of her castle, the last reminder of Mother Gum's old presence "I'll think about it, now was that everything you came to say?"
Finn – Actually, I wanna think of something for humans from islands whenever they arrive here in OOO... Well security stuff.
Sorry for long wait, have to get my act together every time.
Anyways I always loved how Adventure Time explored hidden sides of it's characters, whether popular cast or side characters.
Some got less attention than others though. Have you ever wondered who mother gum is or who made mother gum ? Or how did it come to be?
I personally tie this question to another theory that involves Regular Show, another CN series. Bit that's for another day.
Speaking if Regular Show, you heard it's getting new series?! And Adventure Time gets even more material like a movie, a prequel, a game, and 2nd season for Fionna !
This should be a fun ride.
