Izuku's P.O.V
The idea of being stuck on a 'stake out' with Katsuki was unnerving. Being sat on the open field with the entire class after training to be told they were practising stake outs was surprising and exciting.
"Hey! Why can't I partner with Bakubro?" Kirishima had argued "let Midoriya go with his boyfriend"
Aizawa had shut it down immediately while Izuku had blushed burying his head into Shoto's shoulder not even minding the little chuckle at his expense. He loved when Shoto expressed emotions, even a little. Kirishima yelped in the back and Izuku winced, knowing he had just been punched by Katsuki.
"Why are we doing this?" Kaminari asked
"To give you an idea of what to expect out in the field. You won't always be turning up in the middle of a fight. Sometimes you'll work alongside the police, gathering Intel or, on occasion doing stake outs. Its every bit as important as the physical aspects of the job. So you will be escorted and observed by a teacher, a police officer or an off duty hero. They will be in the next car over. You are NOT to interact if it becomes necessary to intervene. This is explicitly observation only" Aizawa pointedly looked to Izuku, Bakugo and Shoto. When the class seemed to accept his words he sighed and looked rather fed up.
"It will be done on Friday and Saturday. Half on one day, the second half the next. You'll be glad to hear those allocated on Friday will have the luxury of missing the entire afternoon of school"
There were cheers and clapping and the bell sounded from the school behind them.
"Okay! Make sure you look at the board tomorrow morning to know your day and supervisor" Aizawa called before waving the class off.
"He had just chosen us at random" Mineta complained
"You're only fucking bummed you're not partnered with a girl" Katsuki snarled "for the best, there'd be some sort of problem there"
Izuku had to agree but didn't say that. The smaller boy pouted and walked off while the others went to find their partners.
"I've prepared for stake outs" Shoto said softly as Momo came over
"Really?" She asked before Izuku could
"Yes. My Father told me, so I can get what we need" he explained Izuku had to turn away to glare at nothing, catching Katsuki's eyes. The blonde only shrugged sympathetically. Not that anyone else would see it that way. Izuku took Shoto's hand and forced a smile
"What do I need to pack them?" He asked
"Some protein bars, if it is an all night one you'll want food. Possibly a flask too and make sure you have your protective gear in case of interaction"
"We won't be interacting" Momo said putting her hand on her hip.
"Does not mean we should not treat the exercise as if we were. It is a learning process too"
"That's true" Izuku smiled liking how he thought.
"If we're in a car, I'm making fucking lunch" Katsuki yelled causing the group to look at him. "Not sitting in a car all night and starving on shitty protein bars" he declared before turning to head to the dorms looking tense, looking angry but it wasn't. He looked down to Shoto's hand in his and wanted to sigh but held it in. He was hurting. He turned to look back in Katsuki's direction to stop at Kirishima looking at him, deliberately as if wanting his attention. His hands were in his pockets as he shook his head in disapointment before going to follow their friend.
Izuku imagined Kirishima knew about the kiss and Katsuki's feelings. He fully believed Kirishima was the only person Katsuki would talk to about this. He hated hurting Katsuki and hated he could see that he wanted more but would never take it. He looked to Shoto, amazing, sturdy, and reliable Shoto. Who has been nothing but patient and kind, seeming to understand the importance of touch, his affectionate, soft, and safe touches for Izuku. Because he needed them too.
He liked him and he didn't want to hurt him. But he couldn't shake the attraction to Katsuki, he wished he could. Katsuki didn't want to take any serious steps and Izuku wasn't entirely sure he was even capable of it. He held too much guilt. But he couldn't get the kiss out of his head, the heat, the passion, almost as if Katsuki had finally accepted and wanted to take him right then. When he went to kiss him again, Izuku wasn't sure he would even try to stop him, how it would have ended if his Mum hadn't interrupted. Not that he hadn't thought about it...
But he let the love he had for Katsuki go, he couldn't exactly fall for him again. He was lying to himself and he knew it, it didn't work that way.
"Ready?" Shoto asked tugging on Izuku's hand to pull him from his thoughts. Izuku nodded smiling letting Shoto lead the way.
"Seems we aren't trusted to be alone" Shoto said his tone slightly teasing
"Wonder if Aizawa knows we've been sharing rooms?" Izuku chuckled
"Something tells me he wouldn't care, but this is work so we can't be distracted"
Izuku felt that was probably accurate. Making a fuss over two boys sharing a room probably wasn't worth the head ache for Aizawa.
"Suppose he doesn't have to worry about unplanned pregnancy with us" he chuckled and they both froze at the scoff from Kaminari who was sat at the base of a tree.
"You two are the most tame couple I've ever seen. Aizawa has nothing to worry about with you two" he blurted and Izuku scowled at him noticing Shoto frown from the corner of his eye
"Kaminari" Izuku sighed
"Seriously you two are acting like you're thirteen and not sixteen"
"Is that true?" Shoto asked cocking his head to the side. Kaminari opened his mouth and Izuku had to hold his fist out pointer finger up telling him to shut it.
"No. That's an opinion" Izuku said firmly turning to look to Shoto, his usual empathetic face giving way to his concern. "There is no set way to date. People are different and it's different for everyone" he reassured Shoto taking the words he'd been told by Ochaco on the subject. Because even he was questioning if they were doing it wrong. He lead them away shooting Kaminari a scowl over his shoulder.
They headed straight to Shoto's room and sat on his bed, Shoto on the edge while Izuku footed his shoes off and sat in the middle cross legged. He felt bad at the look of confusion and regret that Shoto was displaying. He also felt grateful that Shoto had opened up so much he could see the emotions he usually kept hidden under his walls and empathetic face.
"Don't take it to heart" Izuku tried to sound comforting. "We aren't like other people they don't have..."
"Our issues?" Shoto asked flatly
"Exactly. I'm sure they have their own but being wary with contact isn't one of them from what I can tell. You..." he trailed off because he couldn't talk about it as if he knew "and I've only ever had negative contact before coming here, except my mum"
"But you don't flinch" Shoto argued and Izuku sighed looking down to his crossed legs, it was understandable "you embrace it even"
"Because I crave it" Izuku admitted trying to figure out how to explain it. "What I went through is not the same, not even a fraction of what you went through. Physically or mentally. And it helps that I trust you completely to never treat me the way others did at my old school" he frowned looking up to the hetrochromatic eyes to see them frowning at him.
"So I'm not doing enough for you?" He asked
"That's not even it" Izuku shook his head shuffling closer "it would never be... Good for me if you weren't ready to be like others our age"
"It's easier" he nodded "and I like it but I don't know what I'm doing and if I'm going too far"
Izuku had considered that, its why he was planning to take Katsuki's advice and have thus conversation. Not like this but he supposed they'd still get there.
"Neither do I" he admitted "but we can figure that out. At first I figured you were still getting used to it"
"I am" he nodded once and Izuku gave him a soft smile.
"Then that's all I care about"
He moved his eyes downward, eyes hiding betweent the mismatched hair and Izuku didn't like it, he didn't like the way his stomach twisted, a feeling of dread taking root there.
"Was his kiss more... typical for our age?" He asked quietly and Izuku had to clench his hands into fists. Because they had never talked about it, they'd gone on pretending it didn't happen. Izuku denied the way it made him feel, pretending the dreams of the possible continuations didn't happen. Feeling guilty and and unforgivable when he fantasised about Katsuki occasionally instead of Shoto. How could he ever admit that Katsuki had brought a reaction out of him that Shoto never had? The closest being the night in the kitchen. When Shoto seemed to have forgotten his hesitations of contact, when he almost kissed him before Katsuki stumbled in? Wouldn't that only make him feel worse?
"Well, you know Kacchan" he snorted trying to keep his tone light and unaffected by the memory "guy doesn't know subtley. It was weird, and I didn't have a clue what I was doing and I was rather surprised by it even happening" he shrugged, answering honestly without having to go into details. "So no. I doubt it was" he answered the initial question.
"How are we supposed to know?"
"I don't know... but I imagine as long as it feels... comfortable, natural and good to us it shouldn't matter"
He was surprised by his answer, but he decided that sounded right to him. That's what he wanted. Comfort, safety, trust, and with the pleasure he got a taste of, that he was sure probably only got better. It felt that way with Shoto. It was just missing that... heat. But he was sure they'd get there because Shoto wasn't ready and he was in no rush
"You've been touching me more"
Izuku nodded smiling wide.
"You stopped flinching, I felt it was okay to reach for you more, is that okay?" He asked
"Yes. But you don't initiate kisses?"
"That's a different touch. I just... I can imagine someone coming into your personal space, straight for your face isn't the same and me taking your hand, arm and shoulders. Even hugs I hesitate with because I'd be putting my arms around you" he gave a half shrug
"I think I'd be fine if you did" he said looking determined
"Be careful what you say, I'm pretty clingy if you haven't noticed" he sneered softly. Which was true. He was always in contact with Shoto, he was just lucky Shoto could tell he liked it. He sighed and his heart sank at the thought of casually kissing Shoto before leaving a room only to feel him flinch.
"I'll try it" he chirped "but if it's too much I want you to tell me"
"Of course" he nodded "I'll always be honest with you Izuku"
He crawled over to the end of the bed and pulled Shoto into his chest wrapping his arms around his neck and shoulders while Shoto wrapped his arms around Izuku's waist. He kissed Shoto's head.
"We will work on it" he whispered
"All for nothing if you don't fall for me" Izuku felt his heart sink again "but I can learn from it, right?" His voice shook at the end and Izuku sighed.
"We're always learning" he whispered letting Shoto shuffle up and push them down to lay on the bed.-
He was suited up and ready to go say bye to Shoto. Reaching for his mask, there was a knock on his door. He and Katsuki were getting their stake out today and were leaving school early.
"Sho, I sai-" he cut off when his door was opened "Kirishima?" He asked frowning at his nervous shifting of weight from one foot to another. "You okay?" He asked
"Yeah, can I- Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked
"Sure" he stepped to the side and letting the red head in. He scratched his head and paced about looking torn.
"Kirishima, are you alright? Is something wrong?" Izuku asked holding his hands up slightly
"I want to talk to you. And I'm overstepping I know but I can't sit back and watch this anymore" he ground out but it only sounded stressed to Izuku.
"Okay I need to go meet Kacchan and Aizawa. He's our observer. We can talk tomorrow, I'll listen and help you, okay?" He picked up his mask and reached for the door.
"He is in love with you and you are killing him!" He blurted causing Izuku to freeze. His body didn't respond for a moment when he tried to turn to look at Kirishima. Facing him he opened his mouth to talk but the words wouldn't come, so he closed his mouth to take a breath and tried again.
"Yes. You are overstepping" he agreed "my relation-" he cut off. No, this wasn't about Shoto, Kirishima wouldn't come and intervene if it was about them dating and it clearly being one-sided, at least in the 'in love' department. His heart pounded as he let it sink in he was talking about Katsuki. He had suspected, obviously, people don't kiss you so desperately... so passionately cause you were okay with being friends. He didn't want to admit it, though. He really wanted to try with Shoto.
"But you know that" Kirishima said suspiciously, looking appalled.
"I didn't know" Izuku defended for all he knew it was simply him wanting what he lost, thinking it would keep them close after the feelings were wiped. But he knew he was finding excuses "I suspected" he admitted.
"Then what the hell are you doing?" He asked stepping forward his arm waving at the room.
"I am being his friend. I am trying to salvage our relationship after I messed up" Izuku explained "I'm not blind, I saw what the wipe did to him, and I've worked to get him to let me in. We're in a good place now"
"He is miserable. You kissed him, gave him hope and then just" he moved his hand between them, a straight line from right to left "went on like it was nothing"
Izuku wasn't surprised Katsuke had told Kirishima, and he was glad he was talking to someone.
"He didn't exactly come kicking my door in to talk it out" Izuku didn't look away, getting annoyed at the red head, but only cause he knew he was right.
"Beca-" he cut off his jaw snapping shut
"Even if I was prepared to... be with him, he isn't. He never would be and he is too riddled with guilt for things I let go of years ago. I don't need any explanations or apologies but if I could see anything, it was that he has them but will never talk about it. He wants to be punished and since I won't do it, he is doing it himself. I'm trying, to be there, fix it but he will only let me in so much" Izuku shrugged defeated. A headache was forming and he rubbed his head wiyh his fingers
"Because you're prancing around with Todoroki, your Mu-" he cut off and frowned but Izuku caught the word he was trying to take back.
"My mother what?" He asked but Kirishima shook his head "Kirishima?" He asked tone warning with his annoyance. Why couldn't she leave Katsuki alone? Was this about what they talked about in the car a few months back?
"She asked him to... leave you alone you know don't give you reasons to go get your memories or... the wipe be for nothing" he explained
They knew about his memories? Katsuki knew that all his love and precious memories with him were retrievable? That made him feel sick for some reason, he really didn't like the idea that he knew and was likely haunted by that.
"Why are you telling me this? I am trying to-"
"Because he isn't a bad guy, and he really, really loves you. I know his actions have been inexcusable, and you have every right to not want him near you. But you do, you kissed him. Some part of you must still love him, you haven't seen how much you affect him, Midoriya. The..." he trailed off looking torn "he loses control when something isn't right with you" he said, narrowing his eyes, trying to tell him something without words. But Izuku only frowned
"I'm trying to move on, Kirishima. Shoto doesn't deser-"
"Have you?" He interrupted "look, I know you care about him, I'm not blind but you don't... you don't look at him the way you do Bakugo, even now. Tell me you're falling for Todoroki, that you feel nothing but platonic friendship for Bakugo and I will walk out of here and never interfere again. I'll help Bakugo through that heartache and that's it"
Izuku looked away, eyes watering at being called out. At the fact Kirishima, someone he barely interacts with, saw through him and everything he was trying to avoid.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Stop hurting my friend. Stop lying to yourself and face the fact you might not ever fall for Todoroki that way. It's been months and you don't seem any different with Todoroki. How long are you going to push it until you accept it?"
He'd thought about it, but it wasn't as simple as others, Shoto needed time... they hadn't got the chance to be intimate in ways most people their age had by this point. If anything their emotional intimacy was probably nothing like most their age. But Shoto was ready to try, trusted him. He couldn't give up until they at least got the chance to try.
"It's not that simple"
"It is, you think your doing Todoroki any favours dragging it out?" The question felt like a punch but he wasn't harsh, he was trying to be nice about it but it still hurt. Kirishima sighed stepping forward to put his hand on Izuku's hair, leaning down to get eye level.
"I'm biased, I'm not gonna lie, I hate seeing my brother so bad. I know we aren't the closest, but I just want you to be honest with yourself. You and Todoroki are good guys. You all deserve to be happy, and it sucks that someone is going to get hurt no matter what. But nothing is going to get resolved. Nobody is going to get to heal until you make a choice."
"I did make a choice" he whispered trying to keep himself together. Why didn't it work?
"Maybe the fact you still feel something means you weren't supposed to give up on him" Kirishima supplied
"Or I should have wiped more" he winced because he hadn't meant to say that out loud. He understood enough from Katsuki's drunken confession he likely wouldn't have come back from that. And the very thought of watching him spiral and lose his place to be here, to get to achieve his dream made him feel sick. And like he'd lose something he wasn't willing to look into.
"Hey, you don't mean that" Kirishima claimed his hand moving to his shoulder, but he looked fairly worried.
"No. Of course I don't" he conceded and leant back against his door. "Look I really have to go. I'll uh" he swallowed down the lump in his throat nodding for no particular reason "I'll..."
"Thank you" Kirishima smiled lightly tapping his shoulder and they left the room.-
They sat in the car watching the warehouse. They had been there since three p.m., and it was now closing in on Nine. Izuku hadn't talked much, too upset to really interact with Katsuki. He didn't know what to say now, if being so friendly was hurting more than helping. It didn't matter that Katsuki wanted to be punished.
"So we're supposed to keep an eye out for this woman, if she shows they want us to radio in?" Katsuki asked irritated
"Yes, she's apparently been supplying the local drug gang with Quirk suppressants and its resulted in numerous drugging progressing to assaults. She's a pharmacist" he explained.
"So they're trying to catch her in the act"
Izuku nodded leaning his head back onto the headrests.
"How fucking pathetic people can't get sex they just drug people?" Katsuki spat out looking furious. Izuku turned his head to face him and pressed his lips together while thinking about it.
"I couldn't imagine it. But I've never had sex. Maybe there is a reason it can be addictive. Addiction brings desperation. If you lack morals and compassion, I can see why it happens" he sighed sadly at the fact that people just didn't care.
"Shouldn't matter how desperate you feel"
"People can be cruel" he agreed.
He hoped she turned up tonight. Knowing this gang could lose their supplier for such a dangerous drug. There was a reason it was usually only given to Pro-Heroes and Pro-Heroes in training. Very rarely was it used with civilians and even then it is a lower dose. But most people never used their quirks unless it was self-defense or a quirk that couldn't cause harm.
"Sex isn't worth that cruelty" Katsuki growled out and Izuku felt a twinge shoot up his neck as he quickly turned to face Katsuki. He suspected he was more experienced, the way they kissed was enough to tell him that much. But he never considered he had actually had sex.
He sat up straight as a surprised 'oh escaped his lips.
"What? It's just sex, it's not worth putting someone through such trauma and shit"
"Good to know" he stammered "can be less nervous about it now if its nothing special"
"You're nervous about sex? Why am I not surprised"
"Well, it's a big thing, right? Might not have been special for you but-"
"Why are you saying that in the damn past tense?" He asked turning to look at him.
"You said it wasn't worth it. Like you know from experience" Izuki explained confused
"When the fuck would I have time to screw someone?" He asked looking dangerously close the offended
"Your a good looking guy Kacchan, and I've personally seen many people, girls and boys try to get your attention. You seemed to be pretty experienced when we kissed. Added with what you said, it's not unbelievable" he defended his assumption
"Deku, I've only ever kissed one person, it's the most physical I've ever been outside of fighting" he sighed
Izuku hated how that made his inside flutter, how it made him happy and relieved.
"So you just assume it's going to be no big deal?" He asked trying not to sound nervous.
"No, it's gonna feel overwhelming I'm sure. I just... don't see how it could drive people to that" he shrugged
"That's called blissful ignorance, I think" Izuku smiled sadly.
Katsuki looked out to the warehouse and nodded slightly, agreeing. They fell into silence. And Izuku felt like his mind was spinning with all the information he'd taken in today. But mostly he couldn't extinguish his joy at the fact out of everyone and everything, Katsuki chose him to give his first kiss to. His face felt warm and he tried to will down the blush. He couldn't help but wonder how it seemed the only three people who seemed to be in a love triangle of sorts seem to be the most inexperienced. The potential future 'big three' no less.
He leant between the seats to get their food he'd been so excited to eat. Katsuki had made it a point to make food. He had to admit a bento sounded much better than plain protein bars and snacks.
"Thank you for the food, Kacchan" he giggled handing over the other box.
"No problem" he huffed "this is going to be my least favourite part of being a hero. I need to move" he complained
"It's hard to feel alert stuck in the same position for so long" he agreed.
"So, gonna tell me what's up with you?" He asked around his mouthful of food. "You and Icy-Hot not have a good talk?"
Izuku watched him as he spoke, seeing the usual tension when he talked about Shoto, the grip on his chopsticks tightening. Why would he even ask if he was really- he couldn't even think it.
"No it went well, we made progress"Katsuki paled but didn't look to him. "Know what we want, and we will see how it goes"
"That's good. So if you two are good, what's with the anxiety?" He asked visibly, forcing himself to relax, unsuccessfully.
"It's nothing. I just have a lot going on up here" he laughed nervously pointing to his head with his chopsticks "Hey!" He whined at the poke of the chopstick on his head.
"Fucking spit it out"
"We're working. It can wait" he evaded and pouted at the snort from the blonde.
"We were talking about sex a two hours ago. Just tell me, Nerd"
Izuku sighed placing the bento on his lap, this tone was clear he wouldn't stop. He'd keep going and getting more wound up until Izuku caved.
"I just... I'm trying to- someone said something today and made me accept I'm not doing a good job... being honest with myself"
"About what?" He asked shoveling rice into his mouth.
"My feelings. Not hurting the people I love" he felt the guilt tighten in his chest, the knowledge he was hurting Katsuki so much, and probably Shoto too. Dragging everything out. Izuku looked to the warehouse and felt his mood plummet.
"So you need to sort your feelings out. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not your fault if it is painful for Icy-Hot. Though I figure he's probably being real fucking patient about it. All calm and logical and shit" he grumbled and Izuku almost smiled does he confront him? Ask him how he is handling it?
"And you?" He asked with barely a whisper.
"What?" He asked leaning forward
"No, nothing" he shook his head and frowned at the shadows moving from the warehouse door. "Kacchan" he gasped, putting his hand over the blondes arm to quiet his likely loud protest. His head snapped to the left, and they watched as a man exited the warehouse.
"That's..."
"The fuck is he doing here?" Katsuki hissed his free hand gripping the wheel.
"I don't know" Izuku whispered reaching for the radio "Aizawa?"
"Midoriya that is not the goal, you are to report to the detectives"
"Overhaul just left the warehouse" he explained
"Alone?" He asked his tone tense and authoritive.
"So far, orders?" He asked looking to Katsuki who was moving the Bento's into the back seat. Overhaul stood against the wall brining a cigarette to his mouth before lighting it up.
"Can you get to the roof, quietly?" Aizawa asked. He wanted a visual of inside.
"Yes"
"Put your coms in boys, Katsuki you stay put and keep an eye on Overhaul. Warn Izuku if he seems to be moving to him"
They both picked up the ear pieces and gave Aizawa their acknowledgement. Izuki quietly opened the door closing it over with a soft click.
"It's clear, careful" Katsuki said Izuku turned running in a crouch to go down the alleyway between the two warehouses. Quickly running down the right behind the cover of the buildings. Four building later he turned left to stop at the corner to the road. He could barely see the car, which meant Overhaul was very unlikely to spot him cross the road.
He ran behind the other building slowing two buildings to the meeting. Listening for anyone nearby, his danger sense didn't flare. Using blackwhip to pull him up and floating to land silently on the roof, there were two large skylights and a few holes.
"I'm on the roof" he reported whispering "heading to the first skylight" he looked over to see the warehouse, it was littered with debris but there had been an area cleared with a large table with numerous people sat around it. There were three metal bins with fire lighting the area more. From what Izuku could see, none of them were the league of villains... was Overhaul just buying? The idea of the league getting their own supply of Quirk Suppressants was more than unsettling. He looked into the shadows, trying to see if anyone was in there. He wished he knew which one was the undercover cop,
"He's coming in" Katsuki's voice came as the door opened with a metallic moan. He walked in like he owned the room, and the others seemed fearful. Except the one at the head of the table, he sat with forced confidence.
"She is late" Overhaul spoke his voice deep, smooth and full of impatience.
"She isn't known for her punctuality" the man said "she has a day job you know"
"It isn't day"
Izuku would have found his bluntness amusing if it wasn't such a dangerous situation.
"I have been stuck in the shit hole, with you and the cesspit of oxygen wasting morons. For three hours." Overhaul was not in a good mood, and the men closest to him moved closer to their boss. Three hours? when had he gone in? he hadn't entered with the group, had he?
"I did warn Shi-"
"I don't care what you warned. If you were so certain she would be late, why ask me to be here so early?" He demanded splaying his hands on the table as he leant against it.
"I have a visual, female approaching the building with a limp" Katsuki's voice came in his ear.
"With Overhaul's presence the police cannot take her tonight. Is it the target?"
"I can't tell yet, she's almost at the light of the stree- yes. Looks like she has been attacked" Katsuki informed them.
"Do you have your phone Midoriya?" Aizawa asked
"No, I kept it in my dorm" he whispered tensing at the door opening again. The blonde woman walked in and she looked scuffed up. The boss stood quickly as she limped into the room, her clothes were a mess, there were cuts on her face to show she had been pushed into a wall or the floor. A shiner forming on her eye and she was missing a shoe, which may be the cause for her limp.
"Sorry I'm late" she breathed out wincing and hugging her chest before kicking off her remaining shoe.
"You're always late" Boss said and was rewarded with a irritated glare "what happened?" He asked instead
"Moron tried to mug me" she sighed letting out a pained moan, letting the boss lead her to his seat "big guy" she huffed as she fell into the chair.
"Tried as in failed?" Overhaul asked
"Tried as in dead in a side street. Who the hell are you?" She snapped
"Overhaul" he deadpanned, and her back straightened as the information hit her. She wasn't stupid.
"And may I ask what you are doing here?" She asked tone more respectful.
"I hear you're the one to come to for Quirk Suppressants"
She glared at the boss who held his hands up in apology.
"I am not in a position to supply for the Legue" she said carefully
"Not what we need. We need three doses of the highest form there is. That's all" he shrugged.
"Why would they need that?" Katsuki asked and Izuku answered with a shrug to the empty roof. Keeping his focus on the interaction.
"I can't supply the highest dose it is a different schedule and is recorded when it comes and goes. There is no way to take them without losing my license" she stopped to take small breathes "the Suppressants I supply is good for civilians. I imagine you aren't targeting civilians"
"I wouldn't be here for civilians"
"I'm sorry your time was wasted"
"Any advice on how to get them without bringing attention to a robbery?" He asked she reached into her bag, pulling out a note pad and pen, quickly writing something down.
"These are the manufacturers of certain brands of the drug. Your best bet I'd imagine would be to convince someone there to help. Though I will be honest I'm not sure their procedures, if it is recorded by each step or by completed form"
"Thank you" he took the paper and turned to leave, picking up a jacket with a hood. That's how they didn't spot him, Izuku realised.
"He's leaving the warehouse" Izuku told them
"He's leaving in a car" Katsuki told them after a few moments.
"Okay Midoriya when it's clear get back to the car and we can let the police take over with the Pharmacist. They are standing by to take her as she leaves" Aizawa ordered
"Okay" he whispered moving to the front end of the roof. He heard Katsuki radio to the police it was clear of the villains threat.
"Car has turned from the street" Katsuki informed, Izuku took a run before leaping off the roof. Activating float to decend slower in the middle of the road. He didn't really want to land right near the door.
"Nicely done" Katsuki complimented as he quickly moved back to the car.
"Thanks" he smiled to Katsuki "Do we stay until the arrest?" He asked Aizawa.
"No. You've completed the task and more. Take the time they will have their meeting to come rendezvous with me. I need a report on what you heard Midoriya, the coms didn't catch everything."
"Got it. Let's go" Katsuki growled out and packed the food up before they got out of the car heading to Aizawa.
-
The dorms were dark and everyone was either asleep or still on their stake out.
"It's concerning they want it. Who the hell are they looking to use it on?" Katsuki asked as they dropped onto the couch.
"Got to be someone powerful. That is only used for traumatised and recovering Pro's. Powerful ones" Izuku explained
"Endeavor?" He asked
"Possible. Their target when they took you was All Might. Since he is no longer number one it makes sense he'd be their new target" Izuku nodded his words not as puntuated as his eyes drooped, his head falling back from exhaustion. He was emotionally drained, and sitting on a car for almost nine hours wasn't helpful either.
"What about you?" He asked voice sounding strained "you've been a pain in their ass. Not to mention you now have OFA. It's the one thing standing in Shigaraki's way."
"I'm not adept at it yet. No way am I a big a threat as All Might was" he waved his hand heavily.
"Better to take you out now then, right?" Katsuki asked putting his hand over Izuku's squeezing it tightly.
"Ow" he complained with little force "Kacchan, nothing is gonna happen to me"
"They kidnapped me and I wasn't anything fucking special to them" he argued "Deku if they want the highest dose it could be to try and subdue you"
Izuku had to admit he had thought about it, no doubt the usual Suppressants wouldn't work on him at all.
"We will figure it out tomorrow. I'm ready to sleep" he moaned.
-
He heard voices, his head was on someone's lap while a blanket had been put over him. He recognised Shoto's soap and realised he was asleep on his lap. Who was he talking to? He almost jumped at the hand on his legs... that were on another lap.
"He knows he needs to make a choice" Shoto said calmly
"You have the patience of a fucking saint" Katsuki laughed out and Izuku felt his heart pick up. He was asleep, on both of them, and they were talking about him.
"It's not patience, you know that" Shoto responded and Katsuki's silence was answer enough.
"I get you both have intimacy issues, I got no place to fucking talk. But you're tip toeing over a big part of being with someone"
"And you wouldn't?" Shoto asked a faint tone of curiosity coating his voice.
"Fuck no. The moment he gave any sign, he was ready... We all know i'm not one for self control" he trailed off and Izuku had to will himself not to react to the implication "but let's face it-" he cut off a fist clenching on Izuku's thigh
"You would lack the emotional intimacy" Shoto supplied "You aren't alone there"
"Not from what I have seen" he admitted clearly grudgingly.
"I'm not sure I am good for him either. I think he needs someone...'he trailed off
"Stable" Katsuki supplied sounding distant. They sat in silence for a bit and Izuku knew there was no way he was going back to sleep now, they were talking, really talking and he couldn't help take the chance to see how they really felt.
"I'm not delusional" Shoto spoke voice flat and his fingers came through Izuku's curls "I'm fairly certain he doesn't love me the same way I love him, he will always want you"
"He has no love for me. You were there when it was taken away. Attraction, that's it" Katsuki reassured him and it was so out of character. Izuku really worried about what his mum had said to him.
"No, it's not. There is more and I just keep hoping the longer he is willing to try with me, the more likely it is he will choose me"
Katsuki lightly squeezed his leg not responding for a long while
"Out of the both of us its clear who deserves him. I'm... I don't think I'd ever be good for him I've done damage... and said things" his voice was tight and Izuku knew he was holding back tears "I'll always try to be better and help him. But I can't ever overstep like I did again, he won't choose me. He can't choose me with the way he feels now. Because he's not blinded by his feelings to overlook everything I did to him"
Izuku felt the lump in his throat, the stinging behind his eyes. That's not true. There was nothing to overlook.
"If you believe that you're an Idiot" Shoto said flatly "even no-"
"Who the fuck are you calling an idiot?!" Katsuki yelled and Izuku used it to 'wake up'. He jumped letting out a groan and lifting his head to look around confused.
"Shoto? Kacchan?" Luckily his voice was still thick with sleep.
"Shit. Sorry" Katsuki apologised.
"You should have woke me" he groaned stretching out and feeling both guys tense as his body came further on their laps. He mentally hit himself and quickly got up.
"You were flat out. I tried to wake you but you wouldn't" Shoto explained.
Izuku frowned because he didn't remember anyone trying to wake him. He must have been really tired, still was.
"I'm sorry" he said "I'm really... tired, I'm gonna go to bed. I'll see you both in the morning" and he barely managed to not run out of the living room.
"You love him?" Shoto's voice reached him causing him to stop
"Doesn't matter what I feel" Katsuki answered
"It does. And if it makes him happy, you better figure it out. I can't accept him choosing you if you're only going to repeat the past" he said firmly, and Izuku could no longer hold back his tears. He didn't deserve either of them.
