Chapter 1
Nabiki mentally sighed as she saw the five girls suddenly get defensive and reach into their pockets. "Ladies, please, if I wanted to cause you harm, why would I tell you that I know who you are?" She was relieved when they all paused. "Call your allies, choose a place we can meet in private and I promise I'll explain everything."
"Are you really just offering a job?" Makoto asked and Nabiki nodded as she brushed a hair out of her eyes.
"Well, yeah." Nabiki smiled and looked at her son. "I am in need of security and police."
"Then why not hire regular police instead of reaching out to us?" Ami asked and Nabiki turned her head and narrowed her eyes.
"You're a smart girl, I'm sure you know what happens when regular people get roped into our world." Nabiki stood up and dusted her jeans off. "I will assure all of you that I have no plans to take over the world. That's too much work and my husband would spank me over it." She smirked at the five girls as they looked somewhat uncomfortable. "Then again, maybe getting spanked would be fun."
"I didn't need to know that." Rei muttered and Nabiki laughed softly. "Even if we believe you, that doesn't explain the negative energy you're putting out."
"I'll explain in private." Nabiki told her. "And when your allies show up. Your favorite meeting place is the Hikawa Shrine, isn't it?" She sighed upon seeing them tense up. "Again, please calm down, I merely wish to make an offer and that's all. I just don't want to repeat myself multiple times. In fact," Nabiki nodded, "I'll let you know that, right now, if you turn me down, I won't push the issue and I'll just leave."
"It's because we've dealt with villains who were overconfident and you coming across like that." Makoto said and Nabiki blinked a few times. "Well?"
"Okay, that makes sense." Nabiki nodded. "I know more than a few people who were like that. They're all dead now. I apologize for the whole if I wanted you dead thing." Seeing their confused but softening expressions, she continued. "I really do want your help though." She grabbed the stroller and started to push it out of the park. "Shall we go?"
"I really don't like this," Rei said with a frown, "it feels like she's leading us around by our noses and if it's a trap..."
"That's why I'm going to call in the others." Makoto said as she pulled out a phone. "I just hope that this isn't a trap."
"Well," Usagi smiled nervously as they followed Nabiki out of the park. "maybe she's being honest?"
"A bad guy being honest?" Rei asked dubiously.
"It could happen." Usagi smiled back at her. "Besides, I want to at least give her a chance before doing anything rash."
Rei sighed and hung her head. "That's so like you." It was the reason that the Senshi loved her. "But fine."

When they got to the stairs leading to the Hikawa Shrine, Nabiki had a wry smirk on her face as she realized a few things. "Ah, right," she looked back at Rei, "I forgot, I needed to ask your permission before going in." Rei looked at her in confusion. "It's never a good idea to annoy the gods, even if they aren't likely to do anything to you."
"...Surprisingly enlightened." Rei muttered but nodded. "Yeah, if we're going to meet here, it wouldn't make sense to deny you entry now."
"Um, how are you getting up the stairs?" Minako asked as she looked at the stroller. "I mean, there's some easy ways, but..."
"Well, since I have permission now..." Nabiki said as she pushed a button on the stroller and the five girls were surprised to see the wheels fold under the stroller, but the stroller didn't fall down. "A gift from my employer. I'm testing it before it goes out to mass markets next year."
"...Wait, that looks like Mishima Heavy Industries technology." Ami said as she looked at how easy the stroller hovered and stayed flat, even as Nabiki pushed it up the stairs. "You work for them?"
"I help them develop various technologies, actually." Nabiki answered as they entered the shrine. "Huh," she looked around the open court yard and saw an old man in a temple outfit sweeping the grounds, "how nice."
"It shouldn't take long for the others to show up." Rei said as she walked over to the old man. "Grandfather, my friends and I need to use the big room, please don't bother us."
"Oh sure." The old man smiled as he turned to look at them. "Oh? A new friend?" He perked up upon seeing Nabiki and made his way over to her. "What a lovely young woman." He saw the stroller and his eyes, which were squinted, gleaned. "I see you recently had a child too."
Nabiki laughed and nodded. "Why yes. I was scouting some talented young ladies and I saw your grand-daughter and her friends and wish to offer them a job when they graduate high school."
"Can I have your name?" The old man asked and Rei gave him an annoyed look while Nabiki simply smiled at him.
"Nabiki Saotome."
The old man's attitude changed from jovial to confusion upon hearing that name. "Saotome... You wouldn't happen to be related to Genma Saotome, would you?"
"He's my father-in-law." Nabiki hoped that Genma hadn't done something stupid that she or Ranma would have to fix.
"Oh!" The man instantly perked up. "That's good, I wasn't sure. The last time I saw Genma was when I was meeting with my old friend, Happosai."
Nabiki's eyes shut as she smiled to hide her true feelings. "Is that so?"
"Yep, yep." The old man nodded as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Those were the days. Hearing his stories of the wild antics that his students got into. Why, if I wasn't busy with shrine work and my young wife, I would have loved to have been there with his students."
"I'm surprised that your wife allowed him anywhere near her." Nabiki muttered. As much as Happosai's antics were reserved around her, she knew what kind of person he was.
The old man laughed and nodded. "Quite right. Well, I'll let you younglings talk in private." He hummed as he put his hands behind his back and walked past Nabiki.
Nabiki smiled and reached out, grabbing his arm as he walked past her. "Nice try, but you aren't my husband, no touching my butt."
"Awww!" He pouted and pulled his arm back. "It's just some harmless fun, your posterior look amazing."
"Thank you, but my answer is the same." Nabiki said while ignoring how Rei started to yell and berate her grandfather for being a lech. "It's okay, Miss Hino." Nabiki smiled at her. "He tried to have his fun, got stopped and didn't press it."
The group went inside and Nabiki mentally frowned upon entering the room. Convincing the five girls in front of her wasn't too hard. Their allies, however, were going to be a pain.
After getting inside and sitting down, Nabiki wondered how to explain things to them when her eyes flashed blue for a moment. "That might work..." She whispered to herself. "I'm sure that your friends will be here soon." The others nodded and Nabiki walked over to a chair and sat down. "I suppose I can tell you a bit before they arrive."
"I thought you didn't want to repeat yourself?" Makoto asked and Nabiki nodded.
"Well, yeah, I don't. But that's not what I'm saying. I want to know, what's your career prospects after high school?" The five girls in front of her shifted slightly even as they moved to sit down around the room. "For me? Before I met my future husband, I thought I was going to live a meaningless life. But after getting engaged, I had adventures and even met important people. Which is how I landed my job at Mishima Heavy Industries. But when I was in my final year in high school I had an idea."
"What?" Usagi asked and Nabiki shook her head.
"Well, during the time I was in high school, various forces of the supernatural world started to make peace treaties and alliances to quell the fighting on the planet and to more easily respond to actual threats. I admit, I'm a bit of a romantic, but I wanted the same thing for humanity and the supernatural. So I wanted to have a city where that could work."
"Then why did you come to us?" Ami asked. "If you're looking for..."
"I'm not stupid. There's various political realities in play and it will take time for things to truly mellow out between the factions." Nabiki shook her head. "Asking a third party that has a history of fighting things that go bump in the night and won't hesitate to take down bad actors was the best plan I could figure out."
"Are we that violent?" Minako whispered to Rei, who gave her a flat stare.
"I have literally burned bad guys into piles of ashes simply because they were annoying me, hurting people and threatening to do worse."
"Oh, good point." Minako nodded and Nabiki laughed softly.
"Plus there's another reason." Nabiki told them, catching their attention. "In our world, there are three options. You die young, you die as an old person, or you live an extremely long time, never aging past your prime." She gave them each a smirk. "And I know for a fact that you five and your allies will all live a very long time."
"So that's why you scouted us out?" Ami asked and Nabiki nodded.
"Yes." She nodded and looked at the doors. "Your friends just finished walking up the steps."
"Can you see through the walls?" Usagi asked and Nabiki shook her head.
"No, just super sensitive hearing." Nabiki answered as the door opened and three women and one younger girl walked in. The first was tall, had slightly tanned skin, reddish eyes and long, green hair. The second was even taller, she was a mannish-looking woman who had short, blonde hair and blue eyes. The third woman was far more feminine in appearance with deep blue eyes and wavy, teal-colored hair. The final girl was physically a bit younger than the rest with dark hair and purple eyes.
The one with green hair looked at Nabiki and then at Usagi. "Can someone explain to me what's going on?"
"Setsuna," Usagi smiled at her, "um, this is Nabiki Saotome and she has a..." Usagi trailed off as she saw Setsuna grimace. It was subtle and quick, but if you weren't looking you wouldn't have noticed. "Is something wrong?"
Setsuna felt like sighing in annoyance but kept it in. "I have... Dealt with Saotomes in the past. Walking chaos magnets. I wasn't fond of the family at first and have mostly tried to keep away from the family. When all of you were being reborn, I did what I could to ensure that the family wouldn't meet any of you."
"You tried to eliminate the Saotome family, didn't you?" Nabiki asked. "And it's a common surname in Japan."
"Yes, but there's only one Saotome family that is so connected to the supernatural that they have a distinctive aura that radiates chaos." Setsuna countered.
"Well, when your ancestor managed to seduce the Japanese luck Goddess, I guess it would be pretty chaotic." Nabiki said with a nod and Setsuna suddenly laughed. "What?"
"So that explains why the most random stuff would happen around them." Setsuna shook her head in amusement. "As for trying to eliminate the Saotome family, I gave up after a few decades. It's easier to just ensure that they're not near where I am than trying to eliminate them."
"Should you be saying that?" The blonde asked and looked at Nabiki.
"I know who each of you are, Sailor Uranus." Nabiki said, causing the blonde to gasp in shock. "Or should I say, Haruka Tenou?" She held up a hand. "Please calm down, I just wanted you to know that you don't need to keep too many of your secrets." She lowered her hand and mentally sighed at the look she was getting from Haruka and the teal-haired woman. "If you please listen, I can explain how I know."
"That... Would help." Setsuna said with a nod as she walked over to a chair and sat down. "Haruka, Michiru, Hotaru, you might as well sit down as well."
After they had sat down, Nabiki nodded. "Do you know what a Sacred Gear is?" Seeing the looks of confusion, she nodded. "I thought so, not many people know about them. To understand it, it's simply a divine artifact created by the God of the Christian Bible to give humanity a chance against the supernatural. Many legendary heroes of the past had Sacred Gears of some sort."
"Wait," Haruka gawked at Nabiki, "you're saying God is real?"
Nabiki snorted at the blonde. "All Deities are real. Or did you miss my comment on my father-in-law's ancestor seducing the Japanese Goddess of Luck?"
"...I was distracted by Setsuna laughing." Haruka admitted, her face turning slightly red.
"I take it that there's different levels of Sacred Gears?" Ami asked and Nabiki nodded.
"Most Sacred Gears are ways for humanity to fight back against monsters. However, there are a special group of them that are so powerful that they can kill Deities, Buddahs, Devils and Demons with ease."
"If they're so powerful, you'd think that they'd be known in history." Michiru said and Nabiki shook her head.
"No, there are only a few hundred Sacred Gear users active at any given time, and even that's a lot." Nabiki looked at each of them before focusing on Michiru. "In fact, it can take decades for Sacred Gears to reincarnate into another person. Sometimes it's instantly, but most of the time it's decades or even centuries between activations. And even if you have one, it can stay dormant your entire life without someone helping you activate it."
"Now I remember," Setsuna muttered softly and everyone looked at her, "during the Silver Millennium there were reports from Earth about people with powerful weapons that allowed them to fight on even footing with the Moon Kingdom's generals. I looked into it, but couldn't find much information, so I dismissed it as local legends of some above-average fighters who made people exaggerate how strong they actually were."
"So now that you understand the basics..." Nabiki trailed off and paused for a moment. "I have to say this, what I'm about to tell you right now, I have to request that none of you go blabbing about it to your friends. This is information that people have, until recently, killed to keep secret."
"Should you tell us then?" Haruka asked as she tensed up.
"To understand how I know so much about all of you, yes." Nabiki answered her and looked at Usagi, who looked concerned. "I know you're the leader. If you want to know exactly how I know, the next bit of information will be rather intense to know."
Usagi thought about it and nodded. "Please, I would like to know."
"Three hundred years ago," Nabiki continued, "a being from an alternate reality came to our world. I don't believe it has a real name, but I heard that some call it Tri-hexa. It's also known as the Beast of the Apocalypse. God confronted the beast. Unable to kill it due to its regenerative powers, even capable of surviving a planet-destroying spell, God had little choice but to use over forty forbidden seals to put the creature away. In doing so, however, He was severely weakened and, before he could recover, fought against the four Great Devil Kings, the rulers of Devils and fell in battle after killing the four of them."
Every single person in the room stared in open shock. Some of them had their mouths wide open in surprise.
"...It could survive something that could destroy the planet?" Hotaru asked and Nabiki looked at her and nodded. "...I..."
"Be thankful that Trihexa came to Earth so long ago." Nabiki shook her head. "However, this is where something unusual happened. After God and the four Great Devil Kings had all perished, pieces of their souls, in the case of God, multiple pieces of His soul, were caught up in the Sacred Gear system and were transformed into Sacred Gears... But because of how those Sacred Gears came to be, all of them are known as Irregular Sacred Gears." Nabiki smirked and shook her head. "The one thing that defines all of them is that they're very, very difficult to utilize properly, at least until you have their Balance Break activated."
"And yours is..."
Nabiki looked at Ami and smiled. "It's easier to show you..." Her eyes glowed blue. "Balance... Break."
A dome of screens surrounded everyone and Nabiki crossed her right leg over her left one at the knee. "My Sacred Gear is called God's Eye." Screens lit up, showing the Sailor Senshi fighting various opponents. It also showed them in their civilian forms hanging out and having fun, fighting with each other and even transforming. "The omniscience of God himself. I haven't fully mastered this Sacred Gear yet, but most of reality can be seen to me."
"This is..." Ami gasped as she stood up. "This is incredible. You could see so much, do so much. You could know what's going to happen in the future and..."
"Not really." Nabiki shook her head and Ami looked at her. "While it's true I can see the future, all I can see are possibilities. I can try to direct things so that I get the best outcome, but I have to let things play out before anything can happen."
"That's..."
"Disappointing?" Nabiki asked and Ami nodded. "Do you know of the great mass extinction events in history?"
"Of course." Ami nodded. "There have been five major extinction events that caused more than ninety percent of all species that have ever existed to become extinct."
"Life itself, in each iteration, was God doing trial runs." Nabiki told her as she dismissed her Sacred Gear. "He did love His creations, but He set up an ending point for them and allowed most of His creations to get wiped out. From what I've been able to tell, He had no more mass extinction events planned as this was what He originally wanted to do, but He wanted to see how life would unfold. He wasn't satisfied with how things went the first couple of times. After the dinosaurs died off, He set up the world as we know it today."
"Why do we need to not talk about God being dead?" Makoto asked Nabiki.
"There are a lot of people who don't know He's dead. If they did, it would cause a crisis of faith." Nabiki sighed softly. "I think this is enough for today." She held up her hand to squash any complaints. "There's more, but..."
"How come you feel like you're pure evil?" Rei asked and Nabiki gave her a sharp look.
"...I forgot that you're psychic." Nabiki shook her head. "Fine." She stood up and closed her eyes before a fluttering sound was heard and several people gasped. Nabiki opened her eyes to look at Rei. "I was a human who was in a terrible car accident and was given a second chance at life. To take this chance, I had to become a Devil. While this saved my life and gave me functional immortality, there's a cost to it. Upon my death, that will be it for me. Humans get to reincarnate when they die, those of us who are not human simply cease to exist upon our deaths." She dismissed her wings and put her hand on the stroller. "I shall return tomorrow. If you wish to know about my deal, I will give you the details then. If you reject my offer, that's fine, I won't hold it against you in the slightest. And no, my offer is not to turn you into Devils." She smiled at them. "I'll tell you more tomorrow."
With a flash of black light, Nabiki disappeared, leaving the Sailor Senshi sitting in the room silently.
"...I like her." Hotaru said.
End Chapter 1
I know, I know, an info dump chapter, but I felt it was needed. Don't worry, I'll keep this kind of stuff to a minimum going forward.
