Chapter 2: part 7: Blood in the Water Part 5
New York, Time Square...
"It's over Ryan!" Shouted Higari. "You can't reach your guns in time to take a shot at us!"
"Stand down and accept defeat." Said Skycrawler.
Ryan just stood there as the words were spoken to him... and he laughed.
"What's so funny?" Questioned Juzo.
"What's funny is that they're right." Said Ryan raising his hands with his fingers resting on the palm of his hands. "I surrender."
A couple of the students were taken aback by this, but not Ida, Higari, or Skycrawler.
"I don't like this Sensei." Said Ida as Higari nodded.
"Skycrawler is going to hold your wrists as I handcuff you." Said Higari holding the handcuffs as Skycrawler held Ryan's wrists.
"It's as you said, I can't reach my weapons so what else can I do." Said Ryan as Higari got closer.
"I figured he would put up more of a fight." Said Setsuna.
"Don't jinx us!" Shouted Mineta.
"Setsuna, can't he lure us in with his quirk?" Asked Reiko. "You said he did that to Pony so why not us?"
"Probably because there are so many of us." Said Setsuna.
"Raise your fingers, Ryan." Said Higari.
"Why?" Questioned Ryan. "I can't do anything in this situation. I'm not a Devil."
Ida's eyes widened at that last part of Ryan's sentence when he remembered his brother telling him something about the Devils.

Flashback...
"It's possible to transfer the Devil Gene!?" Exclaimed Ida.
"Yeah. The scientists went over Zack's Devil Gene and found out that it could be transferred." Said Tensei with a serious tone. "One of the scientists did an unauthorized test with a civilian's quirk gene and the Devil Gene fused with it.
"What happened after that?" Asked Ida.
"It made the civilian's quirk gene stronger." Answered Tensei. "The HPSC allowed another test with several other quirk genes. Half of them fused while the other half nullified the gene."
"So that person's quirk would be gone?" Asked Ida as Tensei grimaced at the question. "Tensei... what happened?"
"The Devil Gene..." Said Tensei as he took a deep breath. "It acted like an animal to the others. It devoured the other genes like they were lambs for the slaughter. If that had entered the actual person's body... it would have killed them."
Flashback End...

As Ida finished remembering, Ryan had complied with Higari's request and slowly raised his fingers with an eerie smile.
"Sensei get away from him!" Shouted Ida.
"Too late kid." Said Ryan as his fingers were raised a blast of light came out of his hands hitting Higari straight in the chest sending him flying into the students.
"Powerloader!" Shouted Skycrawler letting his guard down as Ryan tilted his body back his eyes were on him.
"Careful hero." Said Ryan as his eyes shot out light hitting Skycrawler and sending him back into the tied-up goons. "You just lost your advantage."
[Ryan Walsh: Quirk Update: With the devil gene in Ryan's system, he can shoot out light from his eyes and hands. Once the light is out of his body it becomes solid enough to his people and burn them if that's the intended use.]
Skycrawler went to get up to be only stopped by some conscious goons holding him back. As for Powerloader, he coughed up blood but stood up.
"Still got some kick in you hero?" Asked Ryan tauntingly as he walked over.
"How can you do that?" Questioned Higari as he grunted in pain.
"Well, you probably already figured it out, but, if you haven't yet we got some help from a member of The True Devil's." Said Ryan as light flew from his hands. "And it came with some perks." Ryan then shot the light at the group but they dodged it in time.
As it hit the ground, it caused an explosion making rubble and dust fly everywhere.
"We are so fucked!" Shouted Mineta.
"Don't let him get to you, Mineta!" Shouted Tsuyu.
"Asui is right." Said Ida. "The minute we panic is when the enemy gets the upper hand."
"Ida, he's already got the upper hand!" Shouted Mineta as several other explosions went off by Ryan's quirk.
"Come out, come out wherever you are." Taunted Ryan as he looked around in the rubble.
'Think Mineta, think what can you do?' Thought Mineta. Well, he thought of something but didn't like it. "Hey Ryan!" Shouted Mineta getting his attention. "What does a petty coward that hid behind guns get out of this uprising!"
"The hell is he doing?" Asked Juzo.
"I believe he is trying to distract him." Replied Reiko. "If Ryan only focuses on one of us his guard will be down."
"That's brilliant!" Exclaimed Ida.
"But risky." Said Higari as he still was trying to catch his breath. "Sure it will distract him, but, not his goons who are holding Skycrawler captive."
"I might be able to reach him, Sensei." Said Tsuyu.
"I'll help you as well." Said Reiko.
"Well, Ryan!" Screamed Mineta. "What do you get out of this!?"
As everyone acted their part in the plan Ryan just stood there for a second before showing a sinister grin.
"Nothing." Said Ryan making everyone's blood run cold.
"W, what?" Stammered Mineta as he shook behind his hiding place.
"You heard me kid." Said Ryan walking over to a pile of rubble. "I gain nothing out of this."
"B, but, you're an animal quirk user and a Wild One." Said Mineta holding onto some spheres from his quirk. "You have to gain something from this."
Ryan just chuckled as he approached the pile of rubble.
"Well, I guess I did gain something from this." He said to Mineta as he reached the pile of rubble. "I got some entertainment out of this."
"...Entertainment?" Asked Mineta now frozen in place as were his friends.
"What kind of person finds killing people fun!" Screamed Setsuna.
"I'm a carnivore, hero." Replied Ryan. "Victor just helped me gain a higher place on the food chain. He didn't care that I didn't want anything to do with his revolution as long as I helped him with his plans by carrying his goods. He even laughed at the fact that I wanted nothing from this." Ryan then aimed his hand at a pile of rubble behind him where Setsuna, Higari, and Ida were. "I'm just here for the ride." He then aimed a blast of light at the pile of rubble, but, before he could shoot he started to... sink? "The hell!?" Shouted Ryan as he sank.
"You're not going to hurt anyone!" Shouted Juzo as he punched Ryan in the sinking land.
As Ryan glared at Juzo he noticed that Tsuyu was getting close to Skycrawler.
"Ah hell no!" He shouted as he fired an attack at Tsuyu hitting her before his arms sank into the quicksand.
Tsuyu then went flying hitting her head against a wall and fell unconscious.
"Tsuyu!" Shouted Juzo before getting his by a blast of light himself from Ryan's eyes.
"Take that you little shits!" Yelled Ryan but then felt the ground around him turn solid. "...Well shit."
"..., Did he just capture himself?" Said Mineta with a sweat drop going down his head.
"I think he did." Said Reiko who was equally as dumbfounded.
"Not so bright are you Fish Breath!" Taunted Setsuna as Ryan glared at her.
"Now we need to help Juzo, Tsuyu, and Skycrawler." Said Ida.
'Snotty little brats and who the hell is that bitch calling Fish Breath!' Thought Ryan as he looked at Setsuna using her quirk to grab Skycrawler. '...Wait, if she can use her quirk on her whole body and I can use mine through my hands and eyes...' Ryan grins menacingly as Setsuna grabs Skycrawler
"Got him Sensei!" Shouted Setsuna.
"Good, now... 'Boom!' Said Higari as an explosion went off.
"The hell was that!" Screamed Mineta!
"A gas main maybe?" Questioned Ida as he blocked the dust from going into his eyes.
As the explosion went off Setsuna had accidentally let go of Skycrawler.
As he fell he saw a blast of light coming his way and used his quirk to dodge as it slammed into the ground.
"HAHAHA!" Laughed Ryan as he was floating in the air with light coming out of his feet. "That worked better than I thought it would! Thanks for the idea you stupid Potaohead Bitch!" He then fired rapid shots of light from his hands making everyone scatter.
"We are going to die!" Shouted Mineta as Reiko slapped him.
"Stop saying that!" Shouted Reiko.
"He's right though." Said Skycrawler holding his chest. "This is a poor situation we are in. I'm hurt, Higari is hurt, and Juzo and Tsuyu are down for the count." Another blast of light comes close to hitting them. "And Ryan is not coming down from his vantage point."
"We need a way to get him before he blows up all of Time Square!" Shouted Higari as he coughed up blood.
"How!" Exclaimed Mineta. "We'd need a ramp to reach him!"
"Maybe we... can build one." Said Juzo as he was carrying Tsuyu.
"Juzo, you're okay!" Exclaimed Setsuna.
"What do you mean by building a ramp?" Questioned Skycrawler.
"With the way... Ryan is blasting the place up... he's making rubble to make a ramp... with Mineta's and Reiko's quirks." Explained Juzo.
"That could work." Said Higari. "Ida could run up it and kick him out of the sky and it will hopefully knock him out in the process."
"Yeah, but, he's not an idiot." Said Skycrawler. "The minute he sees us, he will attack us."
"I could blind him!" Said Setsuna.
"No, he knows how your quirk works Setsuna." Said Higari. "We need something that he won't expect."
"Me." Said Mineta.
"But, Mineta, you'll be exhausted from using your quirk!" Exclaimed Ida.
"We're supposed to be heroes in training right?" Asked Mineta. "We put ourselves in danger to protect others." 'Even though it's fucking insane!'
"Mineta is right." Said Higari. "Us heroes put our lives in danger no matter the danger in front of us."
"Come out and play heroes!" Shouted Ryan as he kept blasting light from his hands causing more explosions and debris to fly around.
"We don't exactly have a choice to run away." Said Skycrawler. "So we must fight. Even if it means we lose our lives here."
The students nod and look at Mineta.
"Where counting on you, Mineta." Said Ida
Another explosion is heard causing more dust to fly.
"Come on heroes!" Shouted Ryan. "Come out and fight me!"
"I'm right here, Ryan!" Shouted Mineta gaining his attention.
Ryan could see blood coming from Mineta's scalp making him grin. "Got to admit kid. The fact you're still standing is badass, but, foolish." Ryan then swings one of his feet with light bursting out of them at Mineta making him dodge it as dust appeared. "Come on hero! Are you going to run!? Run like Eric did!"
"...He never ran." Said Mineta as he got off the ground. He kept pushing on no matter the pain and loss you gave him. He kept fighting you even if it meant leaving his friend behind. If anything..." As the dust cleated, Mineta was holding a sword made out of his hair. "...He's a hero who's not afraid to fight you monsters!" Mineta then swung his quirk-made sword making Ryan dodge.
"Haha, let me get this straight. Your quirk is sticky hair!" Exclaimed Ryan as he fired his quirk at Mineta making him dodge while using his quirk. "The minute my quirk hits your hair sword thing it'll be useless!" And as Ryan said his quirk did hit Mineta's quirk-made sword scattering and obliterating it. "Your quirk is fucking useless kid!"
"... You're right." Said Mineta. "My quirk isn't the strongest... but when used with others... it's just as strong as yours!" Mineta then pulled and threw his hair at Ryan, but, due to his overuse of his quirk he couldn't throw well and it just fell to the ground.
"Tch, is this supposed to scare me?" Asked Ryan. "Just how could your quirk be a threat to me?" Ryan then aimed his hand at Mineta. "Enjoy being paste, loser." As Ryan was about to fire his quirk he heard something in the distance. "Is that... a car?" He questioned as he squinted to see through the dust. When he did he saw Ida coming full speed at him. 'The fuck is he going to do?' Thought Ryan as he looked down to see Tsu, Skycrawler, Higari, and Reiko holding a ramp they made with Mineta's quirk and Reiko's quirk. "Oh like hell am i letting you do that!" Shouted Ryan as he aimed one hand at the heroes and another at Ida.
"Oh yes you are!" Shouted Setsuna as she used her arm to block his vision as she floated behind him.
"Agh! Let go you bitch!" Screamed Ryan as he could feel something poking his eyes. He then blasted through Setsuna's arm with his quirk leaving holes in her arm as she screamed in pain and released him. As Ryan's eyes watered up from the pain he saw Mineta's hair on her arm before she released him followed by Ida jumping off the ramp.
"Recipro Burst!" Shouted Ida as he flew close to Ryan kicking him in the chest, making him cough up blood.
'No fucking way!' Thought Ryan as his quirk stopped from taking a direct hit. 'I lost to a bunch of brats!' With that Ryan fell to the ground unconscious and Ida landed on the ground safe.
"We... we did it." Said Mineta as he passed out from quirk exhaustion.

Meanwhile at Ichan Stadium...
"Arielle Regine, you're under arrest for murder, trafficking, and mass endangerment!" Shouted Midnight.
"Am I supposed to feel guilt from you saying that?" Questioned Arielle as she stared at them with cold eyes.
"Yeah, you should!" Exclaimed Kirishima. "Those people didn't deserve to die!"
"I don't expect a child to understand our reasons." Said Arielle as she walked over to a set of stadium bleachers and sat down. "But, if you heroes are here, you must know about Maxwell and his corruption?"
The students started to approach when Midnight and the blonde-haired heroine stopped them from moving by extending their hands out.
"If you knew about it why didn't you report it to the police?" Asked the blonde hero.
"Because he controls everything in New York." Replied Arielle. "He would have shut it down the moment it was reported saying it was false allegations or just bribe them or made it look like an accident happened to said prescient." She then examines the blond-haired heroine. "Aren't you that hero, Cow Lady?"
"Yes, I am Iwai Tokiko or better known as Cow Lady." She said still watching Arielle.
"Shouldn't you be sympathizing with our cause?" Questioned Arielle. "You're an animal quirk user just like us."
"My quirk is a mutant one or as you put it animal quirk." Answered Iwai. "But, I don't go to radical extremes like your group."
"We wouldn't have if the people had just listened to our pleas." Said Arielle as she gripped the bleachers. "But they chose to believe the lies of a corrupt politician than our word. It was already too late for us to give our cry for justice."
"That's something you're very well aware of isn't it, Arielle?" Asked Midnight as Arielle show her sharp teeth. "Your parents died here protesting the previous mayor's actions against your people and had to watch them get gunned down by the corrupt cops under his control."
"That's correct. They were shot down like wild animals because that mayor knew they were right." Said Arielle. "Everything I do is for them and the mutant and animal quirk users that died that day."
"So you must surely know that Harold Maxwell isn't the one who killed them, right?" Asked Iwai.
"I'm well aware of that." Replied Arielle. "But, he is just like the previous mayor, only ten times worse."
"You must understand what our teachers are saying, Miss. Reigene." Said Ibara. "Maxwell isn't the one who killed your parents. So why cause harm to him and so many innocent people?"
"There's nothing innocent about them!" Shouted Arielle. "Their actions are just as bad as Maxwell's! Because of their choice to put him in office, everything fell into a deeper hell for us!"
"That may be true, but, they shouldn't suffer because of actions influenced by him!" Exclaimed Istuka.
"...Enough talking." Said Arielle as she extended her claws. "I allowed you heroes to speak because I was curious, but, I just see that you are as blind as the rest of them like Victor said."
"If you could just... SHUT UP!" Screamed Arielle as she interrupted Midnight with a roar followed by her words. She then ripped a set of bleachers and threw them at the heroes.
[Arielle Reigene: Quirk: Lioness: Arielle's quirk mutated her body to have the agility and strength of an adult female lion. With the Devil Gene in her system, it has increased her senses and abilities by ten fold]
"Holy shit!" Screamed Kaminari as he and a few others moved out of the way while Ibara and Kirishima used their quirks to destroy or throw the bleachers aside.
"You'll... ACK!" Said Kirishima as he was quickly cut off by Arielle who pounced on him sending him into the ground and leaving a broken trail of earth behind and Kirishima in the ground unconscious.
Arielle then raised her claws at Kirishima going for the killing blow only to be stopped by Sero's quirk.
"Not so fast lady!" Said Sero as Arielle stared into his eyes with intense bloodlust. She then cut Sero's quirk and then charged at him on all fours and leaped only to be stopped by a karate chop from Istuka while using her quirk sending her flying into a set of bleachers. "Thanks Istuka!"
"We're not out of this yet, Sero!" Shouted Istuka as Arielle rose from the bleachers with a loud roar.
"Arielle seems much stronger from what we were told, Midnight." Said Iwai.
"She's acting like she's an actual animal!" Exclaimed Kaminari.
"No." Said Midnight as she looked at Arielle. She could see the pure red in her eyes with purple veins around her eyes. "She's acting like a Devil."
"Wait she's a Devil!" Exclaimed Bondo.
"How could she have the Devil Gene!" Shouted Iwai.
Arielle then charged at them running on all fours again as Midnight readied her whip. "Right now we need to focus on Arielle. I'll tell you how she got the Devil Gene later." She then turned to Bondo. "Bondo, use your quirk on the ground, now!"
Bondo did what Midnight said and used his quirk, "Cemedine," on the ground quickly by firing fast bursts from his face. As he did, Arielle just dodged them and pounced toward Bondo only to be stopped by Midnight's whip holding Arielle in place.
"You'll not win!" Shouted Arielle as she kicked Bondo to flip in the air and get behind Midnight to bite her neck but was stopped by Iwai who transformed into a cow and bucked her into the scoreboard.
"She's too dangerous!" Shouted Iwai. "We need to... CRACK!" Before Iwai could finish her sentence Arielle had slammed the post of the scoreboard into her side cracking her ribs and making Iwai scream in pain.
Arielle then bent Iwai backwards making another sickening crack as she fell to the ground motionless.
"Cow Lady!" Shouted Istuka in shock as Arielle glared at her. Istuka then used her quirk making her hands enlarge creating a wall between Arielle and her friends.
"This isn't going to stop me!" Screamed Arielle as she slashed at Istuka's hands making Istuka grunt in pain. Arielle then moved to the side as did Istuak to prevent Arielle from getting to her. "I can't keep this up, guys!" Cried Istuka as she felt Arielle's claws sink into her flesh with every strike.
"She's too fast to hit!" Shouted Ibara. "We can grab her with our quirks, but she then quickly moves!"
"We just need a few seconds to hold her down and we can deliver one good hit." Said Sero.
"But she won't go near my quirk!" Shouted Bondo. "We will never be able to hold her down!"
"...Wait. Miss. Midnight's quirk!" Exclaimed Istuka as her hands took another hit from Arielle making her flinch.
"She's wearing that gas mask though." Said Kaminari.
"Yeah, but, her quirk makes a thick gas that could temporarily blind her!" Said Istuka.
"That could work, but to get that close to her is dangerous." Said Midnight. "Not to mention it would most likely knock you out."
"I'll use my quirk to make temporary masks!" Shouted Sero.
"Okay but who is going to deliver the hit to her?" Asked Kaminari as the other looked at him. "Oh, it's me." He said realizing the situation.
"Okay, let's do this!" Exclaimed Istuka as Sero made masks with his tape.
"STOP THIS USELESS EFFORT!" Screamed Arielle. "I'LL EVENTUALLY KILL YOU AFTER I RIP YOUR HANDS APART!" After she said this Midnight had made a wide spread of gas from her quirk. "THAT'S NOT GOING TO WORK!" Screamed Arielle as she swung her claws at Istuka to only hit nothing. She then looked around trying to find them through the gas as she felt something wrap around her.
"Gotcha!" Shouted Sero.
"NICE TRY BUT I'LL JUST..." Shouted Arielle as she felt another quirk wrap around her.
"I got a grip too!" Shouted Ibara as she used her vines.
"Now Kaminari!" Shouted Midnight as Kaminari jumped on Ibara's vines.
"WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO!" Shouted Arielle as she struggled to get out of Sero's and Ibara's quirks grasps. "I'M THE APEX PREDATOR HERE! YOUR JUST MY PREY FOR THE SLAUGHTER!"
"Yeah, but, there's one thing animals can't dodge!" Shouted Kaminari as he gripped Arielle's shoulders.
"WE CAN DODGE ANYTHING!" Screamed Arielle.
"Not electricity!" Shouted Kaminari as he activated his quirk. "Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts!" With that, Kaminari's quirk shocked Arielle as she screamed in pain.
"I WON'T BE STOPPED!" Screamed Arielle as blood dripped from her mouth. "WE WILL HAVE OUR RIGHTS... WE WILL BE THE APEX RULERS... We Will... win... my parents... will be..." Was the last thing she said as she passed out.
"Oh thank god, it's over." Said Bondo as he sat on the ground. "Are you good Kaminari?"
Kaminari turned showing a spaced-out face as he did a thumbs up.
"Is he going to be alright?" Asked Ibara.
"He just used too much of his quirk." Said Midnight as she grabbed her cell and called for medical assistance. She looked over to Iwai who was still motionless and prayed that she was alive.

"THIS IS SO STUPID!" Shouted Bakugo as he and the rest of the students guarded the mayor with Zack and Nejire.
"This is something that heroes do, Bakugo." Said Zack.
"But we are protecting a bad guy." Said Toru.
"Sometimes we need to protect a villain who is an important witness to trials when they cooperate to give information on their boss or a hideout." Explained Nejire.
"It makes sense, but, that doesn't hide the feeling that this feels... dirty?" Said Momo as Zack interrupted her. "Yeah."
"I get it, I do." Said Zack. "But this is the only action we can do right now."
"Sensei, I've been meaning to ask something." Said Shoto.
"Yes, what it is?" Asked Zack.
"How could you not hear Izuku leaving?" Questioned Shoto. "You could hear my and Bakugo fighting Smog, so how come you couldn't hear Izuku leave?"
"That's...' Said Zack as he held his head. "I honestly don't know. It had to be because of my quirk exhaustion."
Nejire looked at Zack with worry. "Zack."
"I'm fine Nejire." He said with a smile.
As they escorted Maxwell, they kept noticing that the sidewalks were empty.
"This is strange." Said Kinoko. "Why isn't there anyone watching us on the sidewalks?"
"Because the heroes notified all civilians about The Wild Ones attacking." Answered Nejire.
"But I honestly thought some people would be watching us." Said Kinoko. "At least from the windows."
"Now that you mention it, shouldn't there be police as well?" Asked Toru. "I figured they'd be watching us and the mayor."
"When I mentioned that a Devil could arrive they were too afraid to join us." Said Zack. "Though I clearly remember saying that at least a military presence or heroes who were available to join us."
"Sensei, is it possible that Maxwell paid off the heroes?" Asked Sato.
"It would explain why the heroes aren't here, but the military?" Questioned Zack.
"Sensei!" Shouted Fukuyami as he pointed to a soldier crawling out of an alleyway with wounds and burn marks.
Zack then ran over to the injured soldier. "What happened?" He asked as he checked the soldier's condition.
"The Wild Ones... they ambushed us with this, 'coughs,' woman dressed in... violet?" Asked Zack finishing the soldier's sentence who nodded.
"Nejire, you're in charge while I check this out." He said as Zack created purple wings made out of light from his back. "Sato, Aoyama, help the soldier into the limo." They both nodded as Nejire went up to Zack.
"I don't like this." Said Nejire. "This is clearly Nightingale trying to get you away from Maxwell."
"I'm aware, but, I'm not going to sit here and debate on this being a trap when people could get hurt." Said Zack as he kissed Nejire's cheek. "I'll be back." Zack then flew off to find Nightingale.
"N, no..." Said the soldier.
"It's alright sir, Chaos knows what he is doing." Said Sato.
"N, no... 'coughs' you don't understand... The Wild Ones... are here." Said Aoyama finishing the soldier's sentence as he and his friends saw the goons of The Wild Ones appear from different sides of the roads holding weapons.
Nejire pressed the button on her earpiece. "Sir, what do we do?" She asked Nezu through the comms.
"Defend the limo. I'm contacting heroes as we speak." Said Nezu as he ended the call.
"Now this is more like it!" Shouted Bakugo as explosions shot from his hands.
"Everyone must keep them away from Maxwell at all costs!" Shouted Nejire as everyone nodded

Meanwhile, Nightingale was floating above an almost-finished skyscraper as Zack appeared in her vision through a black visor in her violet armor.
"I knew he couldn't resist." Said Nightingale as a green smiley face appeared on the visor as she prepared her attack.
