She asked All Might to put her down and she walked to the other teachers. "I'm sorry for getting so angry and hurting you all."
Midnight waved off her apology. "It's alright, you pack quite a mean punch. What a strong girl, gets me turned on!" She let out a loud laugh and Miwako inch subtly away from her. She turned as Aizawa made his way closer to her. "We are sorry too. You're right, we didn't know you or what you went through, but we still care. I'm glad you're staying with All Might"
"And I'm sorry too!" Present Mic hopped onto the apology train with enthusiasm. "I didn't realize my quirk was strong enough to make your ears bleed. I thought I tapered it down enough."
Miwako grinned, happy that no one seemed to hold onto any grudge. "It's alright, I have really sensitive hearing."
They all left to see Recovery Girl who scolded them all for over 5 minutes. They could do nothing but sit there and take the old woman's anger. For such a small lady, she sure was scary.
Recovery Girl took a long time giving Miwako her first physical in years. "You're metabolism seems to be incredibly high young lady, you need to eat more. Malnutrition is stunting your growth." She shook her head giving Miwako a lecture about a proper diet, what a kid her age needs to grow up properly and all the health complications that could happen due to her diet in the future. All Might paid special attention to everything Recovery Girl was saying to ensure he could care for his new charge to the best of his ability. After the physical was complete he took her home afterwards and showed her where her room was. As she stood in the middle of the room not saying anything, All Might started to stutter, filling the silence. "It's not much I know. Normally there really aren't any guests in the house, but tomorrow when we go shopping for your new clothes we can pick out some stuff for your room. Make it your own space."
"It's perfect, don't worry." She was grateful for the room, truely. He let out a relieved sigh. "I'll go make an order for takeout. Why don't you shower and make yourself at home. I'll get some of my clothes so that you don't have to wear the dirty ones to sleep and we can wash them."
She nodded and went to go to the bathroom as he brought her clothes. She stood under the hot water for what seemed like ages. While washing in the lakes and springs she found weren't anything new, hot water was a blessing. She took her time as she used the soap to clean her hair and body, scrubbing away the dirt and grime stuck to her skin.
She felt completely refreshed once she got out and started putting on an old shirt and pants that were given to her. She laughed at how the shirt dragged on the floor. When she went downstairs she saw that the food had already arrived which was surprising, but the deep laugh All Might gave when he saw how large his clothes made her start snickering again.
As they ate, he brought up the topic of identification papers again and schooling. Since she wasn't as angry as before she listened with an open mind. The unfortunate part of not having the best chakra control also meant that Kurama influenced her mood more than before again, but once she got a hold of his chakra it would go away.
"So I don't have to go to an actual school to learn?" The idea of an online school was a foreign concept to her.
"Yes, you can just do everything at home, whenever you want." It didn't seem bad to do it online and she agreed. Registering her as a citizen under All Might's care and becoming a student was put on the to do list for tomorrow. A thought suddenly came to her mind as she put down her chopsticks. "Hey All Might, what's your name?"
That made him freeze, thinking she asked a question she shouldn't have, she tried taking it back. He scratched the back of his head, seemingly abashed. " It's alright, you should probably know since you'll be living with me. If anyone asks, it's not like you can say you're living with the number one hero. My name is Toshinori Yagi."
A small smile spread on her face. "It's nice to officially meet you Mr. Yagi."
"Call me Toshinori, no need for the formalities."
They finished their dinner and went to bed early for the long day ahead of them. He came out of his room in a large trench coat, sunglasses and a hat to cover his hair. She had an incredulous look on her face. "Does that disguise actually work?"
He popped the collar of the coat and gave her a big thumbs up. "Of course!". She stood there, dumbfounded, but eventually they left. The first stop was a clothing store so she didn't have to wear old clothes. She didn't want to spend a lot of his money, even though he kept urging her to buy more. All she got were 4 t-shirts and 5 pants, 3 long and 2 short. She also picked up an orange jacket that caught her eye and a pair of comfortable tennis shoes that she could wear everyday. If it wasn't for All Might reminding her that she couldn't sleep in her outdoor clothes, she would have completely forgotten about buying pajamas.
She didn't buy anything for her room since it had everything she needed already. He was still worried however, thinking that she needed more items but she insisted she was satisfied with everything she had. They got her school supplies for when she started and it was when she finally decided to be less frugal. She chose several high quality brushes and inks along with thick paper. He was confused about why she wanted those things but as she was finally picking something that seemed like it was for herself he let it go and they finally made their way to the police station. There she met his friend Detective Tsukauchi who filed all the necessary paperwork for them so it could be kept under wraps. Halfway through the day however, the world needed All Might again so she had to finish shopping by herself. She left her a stack of cash, much more than what she would need for anything and left to save the day.
Luckily, all the items they bought were already dropped off at the house so she left in her new clothes to explore more parts of the city. She normally stayed in the shadows before because of her appearance, but now she could just leisurely walk around. When the sun started going down, she realized that the house had no groceries and so she went out to buy stuff to make some food. While she wasn't the best cook, she kept herself and Naruto from starving their entire lives and thought it would be nice to make dinner for All Might.
She bought all the necessary ingredients and started waddling home with arms full of bags. She did get some lingering stares but she ignored them. She bustled around the kitchen, pulling a chair from the dining room table in front of the stove so she could reach and see what she was doing.
Miwako sat at the table waiting for All Might to come home for an hour before she started to eat her now cold dinner alone. She knew he was a busy person, so it didn't upset her that she was alone again, but she was sad for him. All the articles, the news outlets that played out his heroic deeds, it seemed like he never had a break.
Paying closer attention to the house, it seemed like that was the case. The first time she walked into the house, it seemed warm, but now she could see it was just a place for him to rest and eat. There was nothing tying him to this place. He had no family photos on the walls, no indication that it was a home. The couch seemed too perfect, everything seemed too perfect.
She wrapped his food and placed it in the fridge. She drug through the bags of items they bought that day to find a pen and paper. She wrote a note on it and placed it on the dinner table making sure it was visible so he knew that there was dinner in the fridge.
She got ready for bed afterwards and tucked her face into the soft comforters. She saw him the next morning. She looked him over, but as usual, there were no injuries on him, but she asked anyway. "Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm alright Miwako, come sit, breakfast is almost ready. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer yesterday, but I can't say it won't happen again. Thank you for the dinner last night as well, it was delicious."
"It's alright, I know that you're busy. I'll come save you again if you're hurt." She let out a cheeky smile as he ruffled her hair, setting her food down. "That reminds me actually," he slid a box across the table toward her. "I got you a cell phone and I put my number in there already. Detective Tsukauchi, Principal Nezu, and even Aizawa are added on there too. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call."
She took the phone out of the box, it was a brand new one, expensive from what she could tell too. "Um, I don't know how to use one."
That made him freeze for a moment in confusion before it was quickly wiped off his face. "Of course, why didn't I think of that. Here let me show you the basics."
She nodded along as he showed her the different functions of her phone and where she could find her own phone number. They spoke, trying to get to know each other more, but again, All Might was called away.
She cleaned up the table and looked around wondering what she should do today. She grabbed enough groceries that would last them the week so there was no need to get more so she walked to his television and saw what he had that she could watch. She sat watching movie after movie, not paying attention to the time until she looked outside and saw that it was already starting to get dark and that was when she realized her stomach was rumbling since she hadn't eaten since breakfast.
She spent her mornings with All Might, and then did all her assignments for school. She would finish a little after lunch and would head out back into the field to train. There were some days where All Might would get back while she was out and he would text her to make sure she was safe and left her alone after her reply.
Most of the time she tried to get back home before dinner so they could talk, but on days where the sky was clear and the stars shone brightly she made sure to let him know she would be out late and to not wait up for her. However, everytime she came home late, he would still be up ready to greet her and make sure she made it home alright before he headed to bed.
Weeks passed and it was then that she realized that she thought of the house All Might let her stay in as home. That she looked forward to eating dinner with him so she rarely skipped it, even though it was a hit or miss on if he was able to get away from his hero work.
Today she was bored, there was nothing for her to do. She explored all she could of the city and she didn't feel like training in the scorching heat. All Might was off saving people again and she was stuck at home. A thought popped up in her head. She wanted to go back to UA and see what was being taught to aspiring heroes. She texted Principal Nezu to see if she could visit him and luckily it only took around half an hour for him to respond. She got up and rushed to not miss the train and headed straight there.
Principal Nezu met her at the gates and brought her to his office again with the tea she really liked from before ready for her. "You should really put this on the market. You'd make lots of money." He laughed at her praise. "I don't need any money, I'm happy with what I have. Now, what brings you all the way here. I doubt it was just a passing visit."
"Principal Nezu, I'm bored." She whined. "Is there anything I can do here or can I even sit in on some of the lessons?" When she got bored of one place, she would normally travel somewhere else, but now that she had a home, it pains her to leave it for too long.
"Hmm, well I don't see why not" He said happily. Nezu walked to his desk to pull out a single day pass and handed it to her. "Of course, there are still rules. Do not disrupt any of the classes you visit and try to stay out of sight so as to not distract the students."
Miwako jumped up from her seat in excitement and swiped the card out of his hands. "Thank you Principal Nezu! I promise to stay out of trouble." She raced out of the room and thought about how to stay out of sight. She looked up and saw an entrance to the vent system and she knew she found the perfect way to get around the school.
She stumbled upon some classes that were taught by teachers she had never met before so she quickly left those ones in an effort to find those she met the last time she was here. It took a few trials and errors when she first found Midnight's room. She wrinkled her nose when she smelt the lust of a few boys in her class, but had to stifle a laugh when it quickly changed into a healthy fear when she slammed a whip down on a desk. She stayed for only a few minutes, not interested too much in the subject and found Ectoplasms class next which she also didn't stick around for. She hated math.
It was just her luck when the next room was Aizawa's class. This one she was interested in as she knew he was a homeroom teacher for those in the hero course. When she peeked through the grates to get a view she was confused at a mass of yellow on the corner of the room as the students seemed to be teaching themselves.
Looking closer she could see the long dark hair coming out of the top. What the fuck? He's worse than Kakashi-sensei.
She was shaken out of her thoughts when the door slammed open and out walked someone she hadn't met before. It was a large man with an extremely obvious mutation quirk. The slamming of the door woke Aizawa from his dream but before he could question the intruder the man with a muzzle attached to his face growled and barked towards the ceiling.
His eyes met hers in the grates before she could move. "Intruderrr!" Aizawa shot up with his capture weapon in hand as the students scrambled out of their seats in fear. She sighed as she now had no choice but to reveal herself to calm the situation down.
Opening the vent she hopped down with her hands up and a sheepish look on her face. "Hello, not an intruder. I have permission from Principal Nezu." She held up the visitor pass in her hands as proof as the stranger walked up to her to get a better look. His eyes widened as he visibly sniffed the air around her. "You smell like a fox." His voice was noticeably clearer now that his agitation was gone.
Not knowing what to say to that she just stood there with the same look on her face. Aizawa groaned at the headache her appearance just caused him. Waking up too fast does that to a person. "What are you doing here Uzumaki?"
"I was bored at home and so I texted Principal Nezu to see if I could visit and he said yes, but he told me to stay out of sight and not cause problems. Guess I failed on both accounts…sorry."
