For the past few days, Bakugou had been ignoring her calls and texts. When she finally had enough of his attitude, she used the mark she had in his room to teleport directly to him. He leapt out of his desk in shock. "What the fuck!" It instantly clicked how she could get there so fast. "Where the fuck is it?" He looked around his room, searching for it.
"Why have you been ignoring me?" She asked, completely disregarding his question.
"Tell me where the mark is now!"
She stomped closer to him getting in his personal space. "What did I do wrong?" The raw hurt in her voice made him finally look at her. Her face was creased in concern and her lips were pulled into a tight frown.
"Of all fucking people why did it have to be Deku?" He growled out.
This made her confused. "What?"
"Why did you go and befriend him when I told you not to talk to him!" He exploded. "Why did you have to go offer and be his trainer? He's just a quirkless loser you shouldn't be wasting your time on him,"
Her confusion turned into fury. "I can talk to whoever I damn well please, Katsuki!" The use of his first name shook him out of his rage, but she didn't even pause in her lecture. "Stop picking on him just because he doesn't have a quirk! Being quirkless doesn't make you less of a person. He wants to help people, he wants to make the world a better place. Isn't that the definition of a hero? While you just want to win and beat All Might! Which one of you sounds more like a hero huh?"
The comparison between him and Midoriya caused his fist to start smoking as a vein popped out of his neck. "Then go be his friend then. Go spend all your damn time with that loser if you like him so much!" His voice got louder and louder as he spoke. "IF I'M NOT HERO MATERIAL ENOUGH FOR YOU GO BE WITH HIM!"
She screamed back at him. "THIS ISN'T A FUCKING COMPETITION! YOU'RE MY BEST FUCKING FRIEND I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU!" She started crying. "I want to help him because he reminds me of my twin. I would pick you over him any day, Katsuki."
He started to slowly calm down as she cried. Never once has tears flowed from her eyes in front of him before, the sight made him falter. He opened and closed his mouth but he couldn't think of anything to yell back at her. "I didn't know you had a twin." He ended up saying.
She wiped her face as she tried to stop crying, but the tears wouldn't stop falling. "He's dead."
They stood without saying anything for a while, the only sound filling the room was her hiccups as she slowly regained her composure. "I told you time and time again that I thought you could make it to the top. I even help train you so you have a better chance. I didn't mean to compare the two of you that way, but what's so wrong about me being friends with him?"
He scowled, not responding right away until he raised a hand to help her wipe the tears away. "Tch, look at you, already copying some of his habits, damn crybaby. Be his fucking friend, whatever, just don't bring him up around me ya hear?"
She beamed as she rushed into his arms. He sighed, pretending to be annoyed but she could tell he was relieved by his scent as he wrapped his arms around her tightly. They laid on his bed talking, catching up from the few days apart. Since her birthday party, they rarely went more than a day without speaking to each other. "Tell me about your twin." He said.
"Well, his name is Naruto, and we are identical besides ya know, being different genders and all. He was the oldest between us, never let me forget it either. He was loud, obnoxious, super dense at times, but he helped everyone he could with the biggest smile on his face that never seemed to fade. He cared so much about everything that it worried me to no end. He'd pull prank after prank that made me laugh. He was my protector and home. I never cared where we went, as long as he was right there."
"I'm sorry." Bakugou didn't know what else to say.
"It's alright, it happened a long time ago. I grieved my family, but I will never stop missing them." She sat up looking at the clock. "I should probably go now, it's late and a school night for you. I'm pretty surprised your mom hasn't barged in here yet since she most definitely heard us yelling earlier."
"I would have killed her if she had interrupted us." He then shot his head towards her, eyes narrowed. "Where's the damn mark?"
A cheshire grin spread across her face as she quickly scrambled to her feet as he swiped at where she was sitting previously. "Not telling, good luck finding it though. See you later Katsuki." She disappeared the second she finished talking.
Bakugou stared wide eyed at where she was standing before fire raged in his eyes. "I'll kill you!"
His bedroom door swung open and an angry Mitsuki popped her head in. "Katsuki don't yell at night!"
Bakugou sent Midoriya a death stare when the teacher pronounced that he would also be trying to enter UA. It wasn't a shock since he knew Miwako was training him, but it still wasn't pleasant news. He gritted his teeth and stomped over to him once class was over. Only the two of them left in the room along with the two guys that followed him around waiting. "If you even attempt to try out I'll kill you Deku."
Midoriya shook before him, sweat dripping from his forehead. "M-Miwako said I could do it, I-"
That made him let out an explosion beside Midoriya's head. "Miwako?" He questioned. His teeth were almost cracking under the pressure his jaw was putting on them. If I go too far he'll run crying to her and then I would end up with an hour long lecture
"What the hell is going on here?" They both turned and saw Miwako sitting on the window sill with cross arms frowning at them both. Bakugou turned and walked toward her and pulled her inside the classroom. "Get inside, you could fall dumbass."
She rolled her eyes but smiled at his show of concern for her well being. "I wouldn't have gotten hurt."
"What are you doing here?"
She pointed at Midoriya who flinched back at the fire in Bakugou's eyes when he whipped his head around. "I told him that we were gonna hang out today."
Bakugou growled, but harshly swallowed down his insults. It burned like magma in the back of his throat, but he didn't want to make her mad and see her cry again. "Fine, I'll see you later."
She waited until he was out of the room before walking over to a still shaking Midoriya. She raised her hand and ruffled his hair to try and calm him down. "Hey calm down Izuku, it's supposed to be a relaxing day. The last you'll get before I go full sadist on you and push you to your limits, so let's go enjoy it."
He stopped shaking and clenched his hands into fists with a smile. "Right!"
She shook her head laughing, pulling him out of the classroom. "Come on, let's get you home so you can change into more comfortable clothing."
"So what will you have me doing?" Midoriya asked.
"Well, now that you don't have to go to school anymore, first on the list is building muscles. You're not gonna be able to do anything with those noodle arms. The exam is only 10 months away, not giving us much time. I would suggest applying for the general and support courses as well as hero if you want a better chance of getting in."
He looked down in shame, "You don't think I could get into the hero course?"
She let out a heavy sigh and stopped walking, forcing him to face her. "Izuku, I told you that you had what it takes to be a hero and I meant it. While UA no longer requires a quirk to be admitted, that doesn't mean they won't still want to keep only those with a quirk in the hero courses. You can always advance if you are put in general course, but there is no advancing if you don't even get admitted into the school, do you understand? You already have a major disadvantage, don't make mistakes so early on in the game."
Her pep talk seemed to work as he straightened his back again, no longer hunched over on himself. "Yeah alright. I understand, thank you!"
She nodded and continued walking, however Midoriya was stuck in his head again, muttering about what she said. He agreed with her that if he was too overconfident, that it would set him back. He could hold on tight to his dreams while still making contingency plans for himself. He didn't notice the green slug slowly creeping itself toward him until he was already trapped.
Miwako whipped her head around at the sound of Midoriya's scream, running before she could even process the view in front of her. Midoriya was struggling to breath as green sludge forced its way into his mouth. She cursed herself for not placing a mark on him as she grabbed his only free hand and flashed them to the mark she threw on the ground at the entrance of the cave.
She slapped his back as hard as she could to help him expel the liquid that was already in his lungs. "Come on Izuku, cough it out!" She held him close to her as she kept an eye on the villain. The liquid that was in Midoriya slithered disgustingly back to the main body.
The manhole before them shot upward. "D-All Might!"
All Might turned to look behind him seeing his daughter and a fanboy who was frozen in shock. He flashed his signature smile at them before turning back to the villain he was chasing. "Have no fear children, I am here!"
She shielded Midoriya with her body as All Might subdued the villain. She let out a small sweat drop as her father posed, showing the captured sludge in soda bottles.
"The number one hero…All Might…" Midoriya had swirls in his eyes as he tried to process the situation. He suddenly started looking around frantically and Miwako let him go as he spazzed out. "Autograph! I n-need-where should-?"
He spotted the notebook he dropped and flipped through the pages, screaming when he saw it was already signed. He stood rapidly and bowed a thousand times. Miwako just stood to the side, happily watching a friend meet their idol.
However, she didn't expect him to hop onto All Might just as he lept away. "Izuku Midoriyaaaaa! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" She screamed after them. She let out an annoyed huff and decided to wait a little before using the mark she placed on All Might to teleport to them not wanting to end up falling for the sky if she timed it wrong.
"I cannot simply say, you can become a hero even without power. You have to consider something more realistic, young man. Being a police officer is also a fine profession." Was what she heard the second she appeared besides All Might on the roof. Her eyes widened as his harsh words. She already knew her father was having a hard time coming to terms with the end of his career. Even with her seal, he could only do hero work for a few hours a day still. "Dad, how could you say that?" She asked. His words were the opposite from what he always taught her.
They both whipped their heads in shock to look at her.
"Dad?" Midoriya screamed as he looked back and forth between the two like a tennis match. He was close to short circuiting at the onslaught of information.
The father and daughter duo ignored him for the time being as Miwako glared at All Might. He tried to explain his reasoning to her but she just shook her head disapprovingly. "No Dad, you're being a hypocrite. Heroes risk their lives everyday, and Izuku is willing to place his life on the line to save people, and yet you won't even hear him out. Shooting his dreams down so cruelly."
She paused before continuing again, but her eyes caught the now empty pockets of her father's pants. "Wait a second, where the hell is the villain?"
That caused him to look down in a panic as he patted his pockets. "Shit!"
She groaned in frustration and turned her head slightly to face Midoriya. "Izuku, I have to go look for him. Can you get home alright by yourself? I promise to come find you after ok?"
She didn't wait for his response as she rushed down the stairs with All Might right behind her. They retraced his steps, not going as fast as she liked, but she needed him to point out where the bottles could have fallen.
Explosions rocked the ground as she started sprinting towards the flames continuing to rise. It was pandemonium when they got to the ally. The fire was raging high, no heroes besides backdraft there were able to try and tame the flames. Ignoring the shouts of other heroes, she ran into the burning buildings leaving one of her kunais on the ground outside. She ignored the fire that licked at her calves and hands as she moved burning furniture screaming for anyone that needed help.
Once she was sure she got everyone out she looked to the actual cause of the destruction around them. A flash of green ran by her as she paid closer attention to just who the villain picked as his next victim. Vermilion eyes met blue and she sprinted. "That's fucking it! I'm placing marks on all you assholes with or without your permission." She yelled.
She gripped the back of Midoriya's shirt and shoved her hand into the disgusting villain to grip into Bakugou's as well. As she got them out of the line of fire, All Might let loose a stronger punch than before as she watched with the boys by her sides. She held on tighter so none of them got blown away.
Once the draft disappeared the paramedics were quick to take them out of her hold to check them over for any injuries. She stayed by Bakugou's side as he stayed silent, besides giving one word answers to their questions. She could tell they were just bothering him with their praise once they finished their initial triage and deemed him healthy. She shoved through the crowd and held her hand out without saying anything.
He looked into her eyes and saw the question there without needing to ask. The second he placed his hand in hers, they disappeared. He said nothing as he dropped his bag onto the floor of his room and shuffled through his drawers for clothes before heading to go take a shower.
Miwako made herself comfortable on his bed as she waited for him to come back. Once he did he laid down next to her. "I didn't need help with that D lister villain." He growled. A scowl on his face as he draped an arm over his eyes, hiding them from view.
She sat up, adjusting to put her thighs under his head and stroked his hair. "Never said you did.", she said softly.
"Why couldn't I take him down." He asked. his voice soft, barely coming out as a whisper as if he was speaking to himself.
"You were taken off guard and suffocating. The lack of oxygen clouded your judgment. You've never been in that position before, of course you would panic and not know what to do." She stated the truth, wanting him to know it wasn't his fault, that there was nothing he could've done in that situation.
"Get out of here, thought you said you were hanging out with Deku." He said the name with more venom than usual.
She wanted to say that he needed her more, but knew that would be the exact opposite of what he would like to hear. "I changed my mind."
He didn't say anything after that so she stayed silent, stroking his hair.
