"Are you not even able to activate your quirk on your entire body!" Tetsutestu mocked, "I guess mine is superior."
Kirishima scowled as they each reddied their first punch. "Unlike you, I don't need it for my full body." It looked like their hits would perfectly collide, until Kirishima's hand slipped down right below Tetsutetsu, breaking the ground beneath him instead. Tetsutetsu was destabilized by the crumbling ground, stumbling away from the uneven surface.
Kirishima took that opportunity to shoot forward, not giving his opponent any time to find stable footing as he overwhelmed him. However, Tetsutetsu wasn't in the hero course for nothing as he eventually dug his foot into the ground and blocked Kirishima's hit to his solar plexus. They started to exchange blows, hard enough to sound like boulders smashing into one another.
Tetsutetsu quickly tired out, having his quirk used on his entire body and taking more damage from Kirishima caused his skin to crack. He was knocked out as Kirishima landed the finishing blow, a hefty uppercut.
The crowd roared at his victory. He ran back into the tunnel and drew Miwako into a spinning hug. "I won!"
"I told you you could do it. And you even took my advice to knock his teeth out." She said as they drew back from each other, matching grins on their face as they walked back to the stands, arm hooked over each other.
The pair passed Bakugou on the way and Kirishima raised his hand to wish him luck, but Bakugou just walked passed, shoulder checking him hard enough to almost fall back if not for Miwako's hold.
The two frowned at his attitude but couldn't say anything before he already disappeared from view. Once they reached the stands, the whole class congratulated Kirishima. "Is it true that Miwako was training you this entire time?" Mina questioned once they sat down.
Apparently during the fight, Midoriya had recognized some of the techniques used were the ones that Miwako taught him when he first started learning how to fight and told the whole class. "Yeah it was difficult, but it sure paid off," Kirishima said, raving about Miwako's training.
"No fair! Miwako you have to train me next!" Mina shouted.
"I'm sorry, but Izuku is next in line." Miwako said, pointing at the green haired boy.
The conversation came to a stop once the last match of the round began. Miwako frowned at the attitude the rest of the class had during the fight, she felt like it was incredibly sexist of them to expect Bakugou to just half ass the match because he was fighting a girl. The final straw for her was when the crowd started berating him as well.
She shot out of her seat and started screaming at the top of her lungs, hair floating up again behind her. "NOW YOU LISTEN HERE ASSHOLES! YOU'RE ALL SEXIST PIGS IF YOU EXPECT HIM TO GO EASY ON HIS OPPONENT JUST CAUSE IT'S A GIRL. YOU!" She screamed pointing at the hero that spoke loudly. "YEAH I'M POINTING AT YOU DICK FOR BRAINS! YOU-MFFF" She had half a mind to bite the hand that's covering her mouth until she noticed it was Kirishima, who was apologetically waving to the crowd, pulling her back from the railing.
She still struggled against his hold, not done with her lecture, but Aizawa continued it for her and she slowly calmed down as she saw the crowd rethink their words. To no surprise to anyone, Bakugou won the match. Miwako moved over to Yaoyorozu and asked if she could make her an ice pack. Since her eyes kept going back down to the arena where Bakugou still stood, Yoayorozu could guess what it was for and made it without asking any questions.
Bakugou sat back down in his seat, rubbing his forearm, irritated that he had to let out such a large blast during his first fight. He closed his eyes to rest, until they shot open at the cold contact of the ice pack. He scowled when he saw Miwako next to him, holding it to his arm.
He tried to move away, but her arm kept him from leaving. "Don't be an idiot. You need to be at your best if you want to beat me in our match."
"Don't fuckin' talk to me." He growled, but still sat in his seat, letting her take care of his arm.
The match between Midoriya and Todoroki was intense, the blowback from their match had everyone ducking in their seats, hoping not to get hit. To her surprise, Bakugou pulled her head down and wrapped himself around her.
"FUCK! Another talk-no-jutsu brat, was I cursed?!" Kurama was roaring up a storm about the unfairness of it all. An emo kid and another child therapist.
Once the wave of broken cement and heat subsided, he moved back to his position before, ignoring her questioning look. Miwako was just so tired of Bakugou's attitude the entire day that she decided to end the match with Tokoyami as fast as she could. She waited until Dark Shadow pushed her a few inches from the boundary line and teleported to the mark she placed on the back of his shirt, earlier in the day. She easily knocked him out with one hit to the back of the neck, catching him as he fell.
She walked with his unconscious body to the infirmary so she could visit Midoriya and saw him on the bed, arms bandaged. She listened intently as he told her how he would need surgery to fix his arms, but that to him it was worth it to see Todoroki use his entire quirk for once. She remembered images of Naruto in the same state and a fond smile formed on her lips. "I know someone that's just like you. Always wanted to save people, never hesitated to reach out a helping hand, my hero." Her fond smile turned into a scowl as she glared at him. "But that's the type of shit that got him into serious trouble."
He started trying to stutter out apologies at the sight of her glare. He stopped when he felt the pressure of her hand rubbing his hair. "Relax, just try to be more careful. I can't help you train if you're all broken." She said, tired of his incessant apologies.
He nodded and suddenly remembered. "Your next match is with Kacchan."
She nodded silently. He looked at her in concern, "Are you two still not talking to each other?"
A look of pure sadness crossed her face, "No, we haven't spoken to each other in 2 weeks."
"Why? I-I mean I know it's not my place but…he was always so happy around you." Midoriya couldn't figure out what exactly could've happened to the pair, they were practically inseparable before. He tried to think back to see if he could spot any signs he could have missed. His eyes widened when he remembered how they had gotten into a spat because of his quirk at the beginning of the school year. He had only heard of them being in arguments when it was about him. Oh no, are they fighting because of me? Did I do something? What did I do?
Miwako flicked his forehead hard, "Stop it, it's not about you Izuku. It's just…" She sighed. "It's just because he found out something I was hiding, and I couldn't explain it to him. It made him think I was lying to him our entire relationship and you know how he feels about honesty."
That made Midoriya untense his shoulders, relaxing back into the hospital bed. "Oh. Why couldn't you explain?"
"I was just scared. I was afraid that he would look at me differently when he found out. Not like it did me any good since he's giving me the cold shoulder."
"I think you should tell him. You're Kacchan's best friend, he wouldn't look at you differently."
She looked at him skeptically. "Didn't you tell me he changed how he acted around you once it came out that you didn't have a quirk?" That made Midoriya freeze, she was completely right. Neither of them noticed a person was standing on the other side of the infirmary.
Miwako stretched as their match was announced, pulling her legs up one by one. "Time for our last semi-final round listeners! Miwako Uzumaki vs Katsuki Bakugou! A battle of speed vs power." Present Mic announced.
The match started but neither moved from their positions "I missed this ya know." She said, giving him a sad smile
"I win, you tell me what you're hiding. You win, and I'll let it go." He said in response.
"You think you can win this time, Katsuki?"
Without answering he moved his hands placing his wrists together, leaving a gap between his hands. Before she could act, it exploded into a flash of impossibly bright light. She shouted as she raised a hand to her eyes, not expecting that new move. She fell back when a foot connected to her stomach. She tried cracking her eyes open slightly, but bright spots danced in her vision, impairing her ability to block his hits.
However, after so many years of fighting, partial blindness was only a slight setback. She blocked his hits as best she could while landing her own. Bakugou matched her moves, after sparring together for over a year, they got used to each other's fighting style.
Her shoe slipped off and she pushed him back, not wanting to let herself get too close to the boundary. "You've gotten better" She said, proud of his improvement.
Blocking a blast with her forearm, she threw away her now burnt jacket. "Of course I fucking did. Don't tell me you thought you'd be able to beat me forever." He growled, leaning back to avoid her roundhouse kick. "Should've taught shitty hair new moves, it was too damn easy kicking his ass."
"I'll keep that in mind next time."
They fought, neither growing tired, but instead deranged smirks slowly grew on their face as sweat started sliding down their faces. Bakugou set off a large blast right at her, covering her entire side of the arena.
The crowd screamed as she appeared right behind him, wrapping her thighs around his neck. He choked as she squeezed harder.. He grit his teeth and aimed a hand right at her face, the blast blew her off, but took him down with her. They panted on the ground facing each other. "How did you…?" He started before spotting her jacket.
It clicked in his mind what she was doing stretching before the match. She was placing her seals on the clothes she could take off. He set off another flashbang, closer to her face, but she closed her eyes, however it didn't do her much good. His move was so blinding she could see it through her eyelids, still leaving black spots in her vision.
He was quick this time to set off a large blast following his previous attack now that he was sweating profusely. Since they were so close to the ground it destroyed the cement below them, kicking up a cloud of cement and smoke, blocking them both from the view of the spectators.
When he stood, he saw her crouched form, holding her bleeding, burnt, and blistering stomach. "Get up, I know that injury can't keep you down. Get up and fight me!" He screamed. He's burnt her multiple times in their fights before, but never had he landed such a large hit on her abdomen.
"Katsuki, listen to me carefully." Her voice came out gravelly and deeper than he ever heard before, making him pause in confusion. He took a closer look at her form and saw claws had formed on the hand she used on the ground to keep her body up. "I need you to tell Aizawa my seal is breaking, and I'm heading to the cabin."
He scowled. "What the hell are you talking about? You're staying right here and finishing our match." The ground beneath her hand cracked as she clenched her hand. Her head lifted slightly, and he could see her blue eyes were now a slitted red, her thin, fine whiskers, now pitch black and thick. She opened her mouth to speak and he saw her elongated canines, but before a word could come out, her face twisted into a grimace as he saw a red cloud emerging from her stomach and she disappeared.
The dust settled and the crowd shouted in confusion. "What's this? Where's Uzumaki?" Present Mic questioned, while Aizawa was already standing, looking down at the arena where Miwako should have been.
Bakugou was declared the winner by default since she was no longer there. He ran to where Aizawa was, All Might intercepting him on the way. "Where is she?" All Might asked in concern. He knew she wouldn't have just left in the middle of the tournament without a reason. "I need to see Aizawa." Bakugou growled as he tried running past. It wasn't necessary since Aizawa appeared a second later. "What's going on?" He asked.
"She said her seal was breaking and that she was heading to the cabin." Bakugou looked between the adults, seeing their looks of distress as they whispered to each other. "She never said this could even happen." All Might said.
Aizawa nodded, "It never did before from what we saw unless she hid something."
Bakugou was growing more and more agitated, "What the hell is going on? Her looks changed during the match, does it have something to do with this seal shit. What is it?" He questioned.
All Might turned to him, trying to diffuse the situation. "It's nothing young Bakugou, she'll be just fine."
"Just fine my ass, neither of you would look like that if it was ok." He ground out, pointing an accusatory finger at them.
"Bakugou," Aizawa said harshly, "Your concern for Miwako is admirable, but this is not something you could help her with. All Might is right, she can handle this herself. The festival is still proceeding, get back to the stage. You're up next."
Bakugou's face twisted into a dark glower, he shouted in frustration as he turned to go back to the arena. He was more intense than ever in his fight with Todoroki, hoping to let out his frustrations, but Todoroki's refusal to use his left side, fueled his rage further.
Miwako grunted as she landed in her cabin. "Kurama what the fuck." She scrambled for her sealing supplies as she used her chakra to suppress the unraveling seal.
"I don't know what the hell is happening either brat." Kurama was trying to help her by keeping his chakra as contained as possible to give her time.
She scribbled down the suppression seal pervy sage taught her a long time ago and prayed it would work and luckily it did and she sank down onto the floor. Since Kurama kept a tight hold on his chakra, her wounds were healing at a slower rate than ever before. She stayed in that position, contemplating different hypotheses on why her seal started breaking. She groaned in frustration at the lack of answers and switched to brainstorming seals to fix the issue.
Miwako sat back up and started jotting her ideas down. Seal after seal was discarded as a growing pile of crumpled paper started littering the ground. She didn't notice how long she stayed there for until the door opened and All Might and Aizawa rushed inside.
"Miwako! What happened?" All Might questioned as he kicked aside all the paper and grabbed her shoulder, pulling her this and that way looking for any visible injuries. A cane hit the back of his head and Recovery Girl came into view. "Don't treat injured people so ruffly." She said as she shook her head.
Recovery girl started cleaning her wounds and bandaging her up as she explained. "I don't know what happened, Katsuki and I were fighting and then next thing I know I got a blast to the stomach and my seal started unraveling."
"Has this ever happened before?" Aizawa asked.
"No, seals aren't supposed to do that unless someone is purposefully trying to break it. The only other time I know of is during my birth, but at that time Kurama was actively fighting to get out."
They were all stumped. "What are you going to do about it now?" All Might asked.
She shrugged. "The seal is stabilized now with Kurama's help, but I'm trying to make more to act almost like locks to keep it that way."
She continued drawing out more formulas, already on number 132, the trees were crying around her. "Wait a second, has your stomach ever gotten injured since you came here?" Aizawa made sure to emphasize the word so they all know exactly what he meant.
Miwako stopped writing and sat up. "No, no it hasn't."
He nodded, "Something happened then, or is different. You need to make sure to keep that area protected from now on."
She nodded, but what exactly was different she wondered. My body is the same, I'm pretty sure. Chakra points and network all in working order. Just what the hell happened when I came here?
Those thoughts plagued her as All Might drove them back home and she laid in bed, ignoring all the worried messages from her classmates.
AN: I don't know if I mentioned this in a previous chapter, but there will be smut in this fanfiction. Unlike AO3 there aren't really tags available in this site so I couldn't warn readers before hand and it honestly slipped my mind. I will be adding this to the first chapter for new readers to be warned about it.
