Chapter Two

Highway…

The drive to one of the witnesses, Dinah Mason, was really quiet and Don knew about the incident with David from the previous day since he was walking by when it happened, though Megan beat him to it on dealing with it and he hasn't had the chance to speak to David in private due to being on the phone all day and that the war room was being used by another team at the time.

"Want to talk about it?" Don asked, as he was still concerned about his agent.

"Not even sure what I can even say, as I have no idea if I even have a right to be upset with David for the way he has been treating me." Colby said sadly

"I say you do, given the fact that you were essentially forced into the job from what you have told me." Don said, unsure on how to help his agent.

"Maybe but then David will probably never accept any explanation or reasoning, or if he will ever care." Colby said quietly, as he was hurt by David's seemingly uncaring behavior towards him.

"He might still turn around." Don said, himself unsure given what he has seen of David but he'll have to see after his talk with him.

Otherwise he would lose an agent and he really doesn't want that to happen, not after everything they all have been through.

Colby was also lost in his thoughts, as he hadn't been feeling physically great for the past few days, making him wonder if he should see a doctor but he was worried what it could mean.

'If I say anything and David finds out, would he even care?' He thought sadly before being interrupted by their arrival at Mason's home.

He would have to deal with that later.

Outside the house…

Dinah's home was a slightly run down, if still looking lived-in, which made Don wonder as to when was the last time her home was renovated.

Shaking off the thought, he knocked on the door, still unsure if Dinah would even be willing to talk to them.

The said woman slowly opened the door, looking disheveled and, looking slightly scared if Don wasn't imaging it and he wondered if she was still stressed after being in a robbery but he couldn't be sure at the moment.

"Hi, I'm Agent Don Eppes with the FBI, can I and my partner Agent Colby Granger come in and talk?" He asked

"Sure." The woman said timidly, which raised more concern for both Don and Colby, as they wondered if something was going on with her.

They just hoped that they could get somewhere with her.
