Chapter Nine
Hospital…
Charlie peered into Colby's room, disappointed that his friend was still unconscious and also feeling some guilt.
He felt it for not being there for Colby as much as he probably should have in the past couple months and not trying to talk to David.
David.
Charlie felt guilty for lashing out at the agent, even if he thought the agent was being unreasonable with his behavior.
He just hoped that after they find Don, they will be able to have a talk and try to work things out with Colby.
He was taken out of his thoughts when a familiar hand was placed on his shoulder, and saw his father.
"Anything new?" The younger Eppes asked anxiously
"No, I'm afraid not." Alan said unhappily
"Oh." Charlie said as he lower his head, still feeling a lot of emotions
"They'll find him, Charlie." Alan said, trying to also reassure himself
"I know." Charlie said as he looked in on Colby's room before the two men went down to sit in the waiting area.
"I should apologize." Charlie said after several moments of silence
"To who?" Alan asked, though he had a pretty good idea as to who Charlie was talking about.
"David, I…I was out of line with him." Charlie answered, though he was still unhappy with the agent's behavior.
"You are worried about your brother and Colby, and the last few months have been frustrating, so it's natural to be upset." Alan said gently, knowing that David was beating himself up for this whole mess.
"What matters now is that you all work together to get Don back home and we will help Colby and David find their footing with each other." Alan promised
Charlie just nodded, while not feeling that much better, did feel more determined than ever to get these guys.
'Just hold on Don.' Charlie thought to himself
