Chapter 4: The meeting of the Digimon Tamers
Rick and Dracomon decided to let Takato and his Digimon partner bond a little bit. Before they left, they overheard Takato's Digimon's name, which revealed to be Guilmon. "Guilmon? No wonder I couldn't sense him. That Digimon never existed until now." Dracomon said after hearing the name. "That explains a lot. The only things is how is Lissa gonna react know that Takato has a Digimon partner now?" Rick asks as Dracomon and him walk home.
*Some time later at Takato's home*
Mr. Matskui was reading the paper and Mrs. Matsuki was finishing preparing dinner. Takato had returned home, with Guilmon hiding in a cardboard box. "Mom, Dad, I'm home!" Takato says but also whisper to Guilmon, "Okay boy, you gotta be quiet." "Hey kiddo. You're home kinda late aren't ya?" Mr. Matsuki said. "Dinner is almost ready." Mrs Matsuki said. "Uhh, great." Takato crosses past the hallway fast and gesture Guilmon to crossover his parent are distracted. Guilmon, still hiding in the box crossover but kind of clumsy a bit. Mr. Matsuki caught a glimse of the box. "What's that?" he asks. " What's what?" Takato replied with a question. "The cardboard box?"Mr. Matsuki asks. "Oh, its just a box you know. Hehe.. Just a box." Takato replied nervously. Though down the hall his sister, Lissa was walking. She saw the box, though not easily fooled like their parents. Their father comes out to offer Takato help. "You need a hand their son?" Takato repies, "No, no. I got it. Thanks anyway." Lissa squints in suspicion. Once their father went back to the kitchen table, Lissa followed Takato up the stairs. "We need to talk about a couple of things, little brother." "Uhm, can it wait till after I get this box in my room?" Takato asks nervously. "Afraid not. I'll help you out and I'm not taking no for an answer. Come on now little brother." Lissa helps her brother Takato get the "box" to his room and closes the door. "Okay, the box is in my room now. You can just leave-" Takato was talking but Lissa cuts him off. "First things first, why were you late to school again? On top of that, you furthered your trouble by doing your drawings while mumbling out loud." Takato was surprised. "How did you hear about that?" Lissa just smirks, "I have my sources. Before I continue on your school troubles. Something is under that box and I definitely can tell its no dog or cat." Lissa was about to lift the box, but Takato tries to prevent it. "You don't want to see what under there!" Takato pleads. "Yes, I do! Now let go of the box!" Lissa demands. As they were both fighting, Guilmon unintentionally removes the box pushing them both down. This surprised Takato and Lissa. "This is not what it seems, Lissa.." Takato said nervously. Lissa just responds, "I knew it! When did this happen?!" Takato was a bit confused, "It happened earlier in the afternoon. Also, how do you know it was a Digimon I brought home?"
Lissa just sighs. "Wait here one sec, okay? Also, promise me you wont get upset." Takato jus replies. "Uuh, I guess I can. Why though." "You'll see soon enough." Lissa answers as she cracks open his room and then whisper for her partner to come in. "Palmon, you can come in now." Palmon enters the room. "Hey, I finally get to see your brother's room for once. Whoa, now that's a Digimon I haven't seen before." Takato was surprised that his sister had Digimon partner before him. "What?! You had real Digimon all this time?! For how long?" Lissa replies, "During the middle of my idol career and what happened to not getting upset?" Takato wanted to know more about this, but decided to later. Lissa just responds, "I was hoping you wouldn't get involve in this, but I guess its out my hands now. Now, who is this Digimon?" "His name is Guilmon. He's a Digimon I created during my school time. It probably why Palmon said she never saw him before." As Takato was talking, Guilmon was knocking things over out of curiosity. "Guilmon, don't do that." said Takato. Guilmon was confused. "Guil-mon?" Lissa was watching this. He's like a baby in a odd way. "Listen, Guilmon you can't just knock stuff over or blast everything in sight. Mom yells at me when I bring a box home, but a digital dinosaur?" Lissa chimes in, "She'll yell at you till your in college." Guilmon was still confused. "I Guilmon?" "That's right, I'm Takato and this is my sister Lissa." Guilmon tilts his head, "Takato-mon and Lissa-mon?" Takato responds, "No were not Digimon. Just Takato and Lissa." Guilmon just smiles, "Takatomon and Lissamon." Palmon was just giggling, "Wow, like a baby saying his first of words. Sorry Lissa this too funny." Lissa just sighs, "Since he just been born, it'll takes some time for Guilmon to learn." Takato thought of something. "Maybe this can help." Takato goes and fishes out a pair of goggles. "See Guilmon, a Digimon Tamer." Guilmon was giving a curious look. "Ooh, gog-gles." "I'm surprised Mom didn't throw those out." Lissa said. "Well, I had to hide them from her. She thought they were trash, but I think they're cool in my opinion." said Takato. "Now, that the whole the Digimon thing, now lets get back to your school lateness issue." Takato sulked his low. "Had a feeling you wouldn't forget that…" Lissa just smirks. Just duties of an older sister." "Come on, we're the same age you know?" Takato reponds. "Yea, but I'm older by a few seconds." Lissa replied. Takato just groans. "You'll never drop that will you?" Lissa just shakes her head. "Nope."
The night went well with neither sibling getting caught with Digimon partners. Until the next day, Things were normal to a degree. Though the school day, was rather a wild and mysterious one. It was gym class for the students in Ms. Asaji's class. Takato was doing the long jump. He performed decently well. "So, how did I do?" Takato asked. "Just over three meters." Jeri answered. "Alright, I ruled the world!" Takato yelled out. "Don't get too excited there buddy me and Rick still beat you." Kazu mentioned. "I just do it for the class and for the fun of it, Not for bragging rights Kazu." Rick replied. Takato looks to Kazu, "Yea, and its easy for you to win when you cheat." As Takato was talking to Kazu, he caught a quick sight of a "moving box". Please tell me I did not see that..? Takato thought in his mind. Guilmon was looking for Takato, but he didn't seem to realize that he freaking out the staff in the school. Even the principal of the school freaked out and pull the fire alarm. Ms. Asaji and her class heard the alarm outside. "Looks your socks set off the alarm again, Kenta." Kazu joked. "Very funny." Kenta replied sarcastically. "I thought so." Kazu replied. Ms. Asaji went to check out what's going on. Takato got a worried look which Jeri saw. "Takato, are you okay?" Jeri asked. "Yea, but I gotta go." Takato replied quickly. Rick saw his reaction and decided to follow. "I'm gonna go check on. I'll be back." Inside the school, the principal was explained of he saw, but it just cased students to make rumors. Takato was hoping it wasn't Guilmon, but he saw the box he was in before on the ground. Takato knew he had to find him. "Guilmon.." he mumbled as he ran to find him. Unknown to Takato, another kid in his school overheard him. Rick see's Takato run pass him and runs after him. "Takato, wait up!" Rick tried to call to him, but Takato didn't hear him.
What confirmed Guilmon being at the school was that all the food in the kitchen was eaten. This made Takato to sulk low and more worried. "Guilmon?" a voice said which snapped Takato out of his sulking mood. He looks see another kid. "You said Guilmon, right? Is he a Digimon?" the kid with the orange vest asked. "Wait, how did you know that?" Takato asked "Finally caught up to you Takato, are you alright?" Rick asked. "Is he a Digimon tamer too?" a small bunny-dog Digimon walks out next to the orange vest kid. "Its Terriermon and he talked!" Takato said surprised. "I take it your Digimon tamer too?" Rick asked "Yes I am. Are you one too?" the kid asked. Rick show his D-ark. "Proof enough for you?" "Yea, that definitely proves it, but where's your partner?" the kids asks. "He's at home and his name is Dracomon." Rick answers. "Takato!" Lissa comes running over to him. "Looks like things got out of hand. I guess you figured out who's here?" "Lissa? What are you doing out here?" the kid asks. "I could ask you the same question, Henry." Lissa replied. Terriermon chimed in looking at Takato, "You must be not a good Digimon tamer, if you cant keep an eye one Digimon." This shocked Takato. Henry scalded Terriermon. "Terriermon." "Holy heck, that was actually kinda rude." Rick added in. "That was definitely not nice Terriermon!" Lissa scalded. "What? Its not my fault if he stinks at it. Right? Right?" Terriermon replied. Takato took those words to heart and started to bring up tears. "He's right. He's right." Takato ran off upset. "Takato, wait!" Lissa looks at Terriermon, "We're gonna talk about this later." Lissa says to Terriermon before running after her twin brother.
Henry just sighs. Rick chimes in, "Terriermon, you really must watch what say around others. Almost every living being is sensitive." Afraid that's hard to teach Terriermon. I hope Lissa can help him. I'm Henry Wong by the way." Henry introduces himself to Rick. "I'm Rick Atlas. Its nice to meet you, despite the circumstances. I just noticed your last name is Wong. Does that mean Suzie Wong is your little sister?" Rick asks as he introduces himself. "Yea, she is. How did you know?" Henry asks. "My sister always talks about how they play together. I take it Terriermon got caught in the crossfire of them?" Rick looks at Terriermon. "Wait?! That other girl was your little sister?! She and Suzie are like double trouble for me." Terriermon replied. "I know Terriermon, but you know the rules. You stay to stay hidden." Henry told Terriermon. "Try being in my shoes." Terriermon replied. Rick was still worried about Takato. "Man, I hope Takato is okay…"
Takato was still running. Blaming himself for not being able to keep Guilmon out of trouble. He comes to a stop looking at the sky. When he stops, Lissa was behind him. "Takato, wait. Its not your fault Guilmon got into trouble. You're both just still new to this kind of thing." Lissa tells his brother. Takato rubbed the tears off his eyes after hearing his sister's words. Lissa also added, "Also, Terriermon needs to watch that brutal honesty he has as well." Takato smiles at her sisters words, "Thanks Lissa. Also I think I know where Guilmon is. Follow me." Takato take the lead and Lissa follows Takato up the stairs to the roof of the school. As they arrive they see Guilmon looking up to sky with curiosity. Takato was about to cry again, but with joy. "Guilmon..?" Guilmon heard his name called and turned around smiling. "Takatomon, hey!" Guilmon runs to Takato and pounce on him playfully. Takato was laughing. "Okay, down boy." Lissa was smiling at this reunion. "Guilmon, you gave us quite the scare boy." Guilmon looks up smiling, "Lissamon, you're here too!" During this Takato had tears in his still and hugs Guilmon. "Takatomon, your eyes are leaking. Why?" Guilmon asked confused. "Just listen, if we're gonna Digimon and his tamer, you're gonna have to listen to me more. You're gonna have to try harder to stay out of trouble." Takato explained. "Then, you'll play with me?" Guilmon asked. "Yea, boy." Takato answers Guilmon. "Takatomon, I need a new box." Said Guilmon. Lissa just shakes her head smiling, "You two were meant
to be together. Reminds me of when I met Palmon for the first time."
After the school incident, Takato was with Guilmon trying to find a new place to hide him. "Guilmon, stop that!" "If we're not here to chase squirrels, why are we here? I like squirrels." Guilmon said happily. "We need to find a place for you to hide out while I'm at school and stuff. This place fit the best because not a lot of people come through here." Takato answered. As Takato and Guilmon were walking looking for a good hideout spot, Guilmon started growling. Out of nowhere, Guilmon was kicked in the face by a kitsune Digimon. "Hey!" Takato called out. "Such a lame fighter, but a fights, a fights." Spoke a girl tamer with a broken heart shirt. Takato was surprised, "I dreamt you." He mumbled. Rika was a bit confused with a serious look, "So, what its time to fight. Renamon, walk all over him."
"Hold on, what was that about?" Takato asked. "That was your Digimon eating dirt." Rika answered. "I saw you in a dream. No, it couldn't have been." Takato said. "So you are lousy tamer and weird. Now amscray, unless you can take us little boy." Rika responded. "Who are you calling little boy? Guilmon is just young is all." Takato answered. "Like tamer, like Digimon. He's at least a rookie right?" Rika asked. "Uhh, that's at lease what I was going for. Look I never done this before." Takato answered. "Never done what before?" Rika asked, but Takato couldn't answer. "Oh how clever. Renamon." "commanded Rika and Renamon was walking toward Guilmon. "Wait, call her off. We don't want to fight." Takato replied. " I knew you were just a little boy with a pet Digimon. What do you thnk Digimon were made to do you goofy little goggle head?" Rika asked. "That just like asking the meaning of life." Takato replied. "Oh forget this. Lets just this over with." Says Renamon as she jumps in the air. "Guilmon, run away!" Takato shouts out. "Diamond Storm!" Renamon fires her attack at Guilmon but does little damage. "Listen for once." Takato shouts. Guilmon retaliates, "Pyro Sphere!" Guilmon fires his attack at Renamon, but misses and destroys part of a tree.
As the fighting was going on, Lissa and Palmon were in the area and notice the scap that was happening. "What's going? Why is Guilmon fighting?" Lissa asks with a little worry. "Probably has something to do with that Kitsune Digimon." Palmon said. "Kitsune Digimon? Oh boy, come on Palmon!" Lissa and Palmon go to where the fighting is happening. Renamon was about to pounce on Guilmon, until, "Poison Ivy!" Palmon grabs Renamon in mid pounce with her vines. "What in the world is your problem Rika?! Why are you attacking my brother's partner Digimon?!" Lissa was not happy. "Oh its you again little diva. I answered that question a long time ago and I rather not repeat myself." Rika replied "Which I don't agree with. Look Ice Queen, if you want to fight someone fight us. Leave my brother out of this." Lissa said with confrontation to Rika. "Doesn't matter with me. We'll take on anyone. Renamon." Rika commanded. "Wait, Lissa!" Takato calls out to his sister. "Takato, take Guilmon, and go. This is between me and her." Lissa commanded. "Fine with me." Rika says as she takes a card. "Digimodify! Armor Activate" That card changed one of Renamon's arm with a pile bunker. "Be on your guard, Palmon." Said Lissa. "I'm always am, Lisssa." Palmon as she gets ready to fight Renamon. Renamon was trying to pounce Palmon with her Pile Bunker but was grab easily by Palmon's Poison Ivy attack. "Lets try this. Digimodify! Power Activate" Lissa swipes the card through her D-ark. Palmon's strength increased enough that she was able to flip Renamon on to her back. Takato was actually watching the fight. "Whoa, this is one serious cat fight.." Takato says. "What do you mean 'cat fight' they aren't cats." Guilmon says with confusion.
As the fight was going on, Henry and Terriermon appear. "Stop it you two!" Henry shouted. Takato, Lissa and Guilmon look up and see the duo. "Its you." Takato said. "Its me, its him. Arent you happy to see us?" Terriermon says as he runs down the hill. "Another Digimon?" Rika said confused. From behind Rika, Rick and Dracomon also arrive. "Never a dull day in this city, are they? Luckily we made it in time." Rick said while Dracomon chimes in. "I have to agree, though did we to cut it close?" Rika was confused a bit more. "Okay, this is getting too weird they're everywhere." Terriermon walks up Renamon, "You looked pretty good until the end there. Rolling around the dirt like that didn't you feel silly?" Terriermon asked Renamon. "Terriermon, its not smart to mouth off to someone bigger than you." Henry said. "Henry, Momentai!" Terriermon replied. "You take it easy." Henry responded. What are your Digimon fight about anyway?" Henry asked. "Well that's a dumb question. What else are Digimon supposed to do?" Rika responded. "In truth, anything they want. Digimon are like us in a way." Rick answered. "That's right, Digimon aren't just fighting machines. They are not our slaves or pets either." Henry added on as Terriermon climbed up his shoulder and let him pet his head. Rick chimes in, "Also our partner Digimon are our friends and we should treat them as such." Lissa and Palmon agree with those statements while Rika and Renamon just somewhat ignore it. "Well Renamon wants to fight and so do I for that matter." Rika said as her and Renamon walk off somewhere. "She's harsh." Takato said. "Who does that girl think she is?" Palmon asked. "Just an Ice Queen, no more no less." Lissa replied. "Its gonna take a while but one day, she'll learn or else it might end the hard way for her." Rick said.
