Chaos and lightning

The room was filling with robots, the woman was standing before gunvolt, crowing something about a "Magic name" and how he would die here. Gunvolt didn't agree with her assessment and so he would prove it wrong. He thought it unlikely that the woman would know his ability and yet she had gone to all the trouble to explain hers. Gunvolt smiled slightly as he planned.

Gunvolt looked between the targets on offer before prioritising the ability user, if he took her down then the robots would stop. If that failed then he could just break them.

He dashed towards the 'Mage' while pulling out a small knife he kept on him these days. Looking at it one might simply think it was a knife used for eating but GV and used what he could to create a replacement tagging weapon.

The knife was steel but only on the surface, beneath the steel was copper and that could be used to increase the amount of power he could get flowing through it. In addition he had magnatised some of his hair and got it to stick to the blade of the knife. If he cut someone he could make his hair stick to them allowing basic tagging against non-solid targets.

It wasn't particularly clever but it would work to tag or to taser. GV tried to get below the 'Mage's' guard with the knife but when she saw it coming she threw herself out of the way.

"You little maniac, Are you really using a knife to try and cut me? Those things are too blunt to cut quickly. You want to make it painful then?" The Woman was angry, GV knew clearly that she didn't understand the knife's threat. Perfect. One cut was all he needed.

The robots would get in the way first of course. One with arms swung down in attempt to remove his head, GV dodged on reflex alone and jumped out of the way of the next attack from a shorter robot.

He looked for the woman and saw her run into the corridor that the robots were coming from. He would have to fight through them to get to her? Easy.

He held out his hand near the robot with the arms and created some electricity, since the robots were close together it would be able to jump from one to the other as a path of least resistance. GV then remembered where he was, the lightning defeated the first robot sure but the path of least resistance was into the walls of this underground room.

Plan B then, He created a flashfield and began running after the woman. It would tire him quickly but it got the robots out of the way. Something about the woman's ability gave them animal-like minds and animals shy away from pain. He just ran past the robots as they got out of his way.

When he reached the end of the corridor and re-entered the main tunnel he saw the woman with a look of suprise on her face leaning against a pillar. She must have been taking a breather.

With no time to waste GV again ran towards her as she pulled out a gun in panic. "Clearly the robots can't stop you, but you die all the same!" the woman sounded a little crazy at that moment but as she fired the gun GV timed a Prevasion right through the bullet.

The woman look terrified but GV was done with this fight so as he reached her he reached out and tased her with just his hand.

The woman crumpled and GV sighed, the hard part was done and now he just needed to bring her somewhere.

He concidered the woman, one of his questions was "How do I carry her without being noticed?" but more important to him was her talk about magic. The robots had gone silent. They just were not moving.

GV then had an idea and looked around, he saw what he was looking for quickly, A large robot that could hide and carry the woman to the destination. He walked over to the mech-looking robot and jumped to near it's head.

GV felt around inside it using his power before finding it's 'brain' and he simply took control of it. It was some sort of large transport robot so it would easily be able to pass with little notice. He grabbed the woman and pulled her onto the mech, he stole a tarp and used it to cover the two of them before instructing the robot where to take them.

The mech began driving off as GV checked his messages, night was falling and Joule had sent a text that she was at home. The more worrying things was that she claimed to be cooking but he could face that once he was done with his job.

As academy city had a curfew, seemingly only because they wanted a time for the dark side to act in, there was very little noise on the streets. There were cars and trucks and the like but very few of them.

When the robot reached its destination GV fried the robot's memory while giving a small apology to the technician who would need to figure out why their transport robot was here in the middle of the night. GV unloaded the passenger and took her into the alley that had been chosen as the drop point and as he layed the woman against a stack of boxes he slipped a tracking dot onto her.

He sat and waited half an hour before someone showed up, A girl walked in and nodded to him. "I'll send the money now" she muttered, tapping a few keys on her phone.

He nodded, checked his balance and left. On his way back he stopped by a pay phone and used it to send an anonymous tip off to judgement.

Now, he had completed his job he could head home. It was late, maybe 10 or 11 so he would just have to walk home. Hijacking giant robots will only work so many times.

Joule was already in bed when he got back, she had eaten without him but had left him some in the fridge according to a note she had left out. He took it out and it looked to be some curry and rice. Wearily GV began eating and discovered it was actually quite good, Joule was improving.

Just before he went to bed he heard a strange sound and looked through his window.

There was a pillar of light streching into the sky. GV considered investigating, but he had experienced enough weirdness for one day. He just went to bed.

Crowley was happy when he recieved one of the mages causing trouble but there was more important events occuring. The Index Librorum Prohibitorum was in the care of Imagine Breaker. He expected that this was the day they wished to wipe the girl's memory. He wondered what the Imagine breaker was going to do about it.

Short chapter today just because I wanted to finish the mini-arc I had started last chapter.
