Tour of Tokiwadai

[ACSR:Tokiwadai Chuugakkou]

Joule read the letter she had gotten again. It informed her that she was invited to a midsummer festival in Misaka's school along with two others (who she could guess).

She held the letter up to Lumen who was in full form floating behind her. Though Lumen could just have read her mind Joule wanted to prepare in peace.

As Joule got ready she heard Lumen speak "The offer for you to join Tokiwadai is still open until the end of summer you know? This might be a good chance to check it out anyway."

Joule frowned, her 'Level Increase' notice had come with an invitation to the best all-girl's school but Joule wasn't really interested in it. In her current school she got to interact with Saten, Uiharu and GV (assuming he wasn't cutting classes while on a job). Really she didn't see the point of changing over as she had heard from Misaka that more was expected of you there.

If she went they would keep an eye on her so Lumen might be revealed eventually.

Joule pulled on her shoes while Lumen was 'Holding' her phone (Basically letting it sit on a table while reading off something). "Hey, text from Uiharu." Lumen reported.

Joule picked up the phone and read that they should meet up before going and it suggested a place. Joule accepted and left the house while clipping a butterfly pin in her hair.

Lumen smiled and became a butterfly on the opposite side of her head.

The three friends met up at the bus stop nearest the dormitories before they began to walk.

As they walked, Uiharu was gushing about the event "Oh it's great, for a whole day we get to explore the dormitories of Tokiwadai. They even have events!"

Joule looked over "I didn't know it was the dormitories, I thought we explored the school itself?"

A mental shurg was given by Lumen "I didn't notice either if it makes you feel better Joule."

They were led to the dormitories by an excited Uiharu, they had to show their invites again at the door before being allowed inside.

"So..." Saten started "How are we going to find our friends?"

Uiharu and Joule simply pointed to the end of the entrance hall where Kuroko's face was being pulled by a girl in a maid dress.

It took Saten a moment to recognise that it had been Misaka who had been forced into the dress.

The three friends approached and Uiharu called out to them

Misaka glanced around and let Kuroko go to walk over to them.

Kuroko waved at them, her cheeks still a little red "Hey guys, let's greet each other properly up here." she pointed to a staircase labled 'Midsummer festival events this way'

Uiharu was thanking Kuroko for inviting them as they climbed the stairs. Kuroko laughed and pointed out that she shouldn't gain all the credit.

"What do you mean?" Saten asked. Kuroko smiled "We can only invite two people each so Misaka had to fill out one of the invite forms herself to invite Joule. Even when she didn't want you to come-"

"Hey!" Misaka objected "It's not like I didn't want them to come, I just..." She cut herself off as Kuroko filled in with a playful tone "You didn't want us to see you like that?"

Misaka turned around quickly as if trying to look for a place she could change out of the maid dress.

Uiharu was still excited though "What an honor, you could have invited others but you invited us to the great midsummer festival."

"Well," Kuroko started "You're our best friends, why wouldn't we invite you three?"

It didn't seem like Uiharu had heard her though "I can't wait, todays festivities will exceed my wildest imagination."

Kuroko smiled her knowing smile at Uiharu "Well we won't disapoint you then. The events to come will be memorable and I hope you enjoy them."

Just before Kuroko began leading a tour another girl in a maid outfit came over. The friends were introduced to her but she dragged Kuroko away to help with the buffet so Misaka said that she would lead the tour instead.

There first stop (after a really passionate outburst from Uiharu) was the pastry decoration room.

On each table were cakes with all sorts of decorations on them from little doll-like people to houses or flowers.

As Uiharu again gasped out how amazing Tokiwadai was Saten wondered if the decorations were really all sugar.

Saten broke of a petal from a flower-decorated cake and ate it. Uiharu saw and freaked out while Joule continued to examine the cakes.

She had cooked cakes before and done icing but these were an entirely diffrent level.

"Yep, that is pure sugar all right." Saten grimaced. Uiharu seemed about to cause a fuss until the three of them glanced round to see a group of other girls offering decorations to Misaka.

They left soon after to head to their second event, an embroidery class. On the way there they stopped by some embroidered art pieces to admire them.

Uiharu was excited to start so the four friends entered and sat at a table with a guide.

After thirty minutes of careful embroidery Uiharu showed off the sunflower that she had made following the guide. She was shocked then when she realised that no one else around the table had followed the guide. Saten had done a car, Misaka had done a frog surrounded by flowers and Joule had done a blue butterfly design like her hairclip.

The next stop on the tour was a room full of flower arranging work. The friends were praising the flower arrangements while Uiharu went to ask a girl stationed nearby if she had made some of these.

Joule wasn't as much a fan of these as her friends but she could appreciate the work that had been put in to finding the right way to display each flower.

The next thing on the list of things Uiharu wanted to go to was a tea ceremony however it only allowed three in at a time. Joule offered that she just go ahead and allow them to enjoy the tea. Uiharu wasn't happy but no one really wanted to be the one left out so Joule was just advised to head to the library where they would meet next.

Of course a few minutes later Joule realised the flaw with her plan, she didn't know where the libary was. She had half an hour until her friends were done with the tea so she wandered around at first looking for the library before finally asking someone for help.

Having only lost ten minutes she arived at the library. She began to examine the shelves for any books she would like to read.

Most were science books of course, some were maths as well but there were only two shelves for stories. The shelves were large but it was still small when compared to the room.

Joule picked up a story she thought she might like before heading to the shelf labled 'psychology and neurobiology'. If she was going to sit here she was going to do something productive at the same time.

She had only finished a few chapters of the story when she got bored of it. It was less interesting than her own life which said more about her then it did about the book. She swapped over to reading the book she had got about psychology.

Mostly she wanted to learn how to do more with the power she had displayed already. This book was written in academy city so it had information about Espers too so she could learn how to pretend to be a lower level better.

[ACSR: Sakubou]

After a few more minutes someone walked over to her, a girl with brown hair and shiny eyes. "Are you enjoying that book?" The girl asked with a smile on her face. Joule looked away "It is interesting."

The girl's smile grew "Are you a telepath too then?" Joule nodded but still didn't look at the girl, something about her felt off.

"Who did you come with, I don't think you are a student afterall, I've never seen you?"

Joule shrugged while saying "Makoto Misaka."

The girl stiffened for a moment before relaxing "The 3rd level 5 then? Wow, I've heard she is very stuborn. It must be nice for her to have friends."

Joule finally turned to look at the girl who had just carelessly insulted her friend twice. She looked again at the girl's eyes before Lumen noticed it and sent an urgent mental message to Joule.

"Joule, this girl is under mind control!"

Joule stiffened but before she could think of something to say she heard someone call her name quietly from the door. Her friends had arrived.

As Joule turned to the girl who had been speaking to her she could see her walk quickly away through another door, Joule couldn't see clearly because of the amount of people there but she was fairly sure the girl with blond hair that the mystery girl walked towards had been watching her during the conversation.

[ACSR:Tokiwadai Chuugakkou]

Her friends entered and Uiharu looked around in awe at the books, Misaka sat by one of the shelves smiling as her friends dug into books.

A few minutes later they left and Uiharu mentioned that she was getting hungry so Misaka took them to the buffet.

After picking up food they saw Misaka upset about something while some children nearby from the orphanage were talking about Misaka performing on stage.

Uiharu and Saten took her silence to mean it was meant to be a suprise, Joule took it to mean Misaka just didn't want to talk about it.

Joule planned to talk to Misaka about her strange encounter in the library but Misaka had been rendered too shy to talk. The food was nice at least, Joule had only had this quality of food before for those first few weeks of her life as an idol before she realised what Sumeragi planned. Once she wanted to stop they had trapped her like a songbird in a cage.

The food was still good though.

Even after lunch Misaka didn't seem in the mood to talk, before they reached their next destination Misaka left to use the restroom, telling the others to go on without her.

Saten and Uiharu looked at each other before Saten asked if they had noticed that Misaka had been nervous.

"Nooooo, Imposible." Lumen's sarcasm was impossible to miss "It definately wasn't because she was being forced to perform and all of you had such high expectations."

Joule sighed and pointed out to her friends that she was likely nervous for it.

Before either of them could respond a voice could be heard from outside calling for bidders.

There was an auction going on, Something had just been bought so the friends watched in suprise as Konori went up to collect some purses she had won.

As she walked away Saten led the friends with a smile on her face. When they got close enough Saten called to her "Hey there Konori."

When asked about the purses Konori blushed "It's not normally my style but this is a charity auction with the money going to child error children." Konori puffed up her chest and lied through her teeth "As it is for such a good cause and I am an upstanding Judgement member I would have to buy something!"

Joule deadpanned "Uh huh, of course." While Saten called that explination out for sound like an excuse.

A few minutes later they met up with Kuroko who had bid a ridiculous amount of money for a themed stationery set that Kuroko explained had been put up for auction by Misaka.

Joule sighed as Kuroko started describing how amazing the set was to her.

The conversation soon turned to Misaka and Konori asked where she was. As the conversation was going on Joule heard a rhythmic clicking sound approaching. and turned to see a girl she vaugely remembered.

Kongou was wearing the wrong maid outfit. She waved, wearing her shrine maiden-like costume and called out "Hello ladies."

The strangest thing that Joule thought as Kongou's ego took over speaking was that she could swear that she heard some sort of sound effect when Kongou swung around in it.

Kongou's friends were blushing behind her, it was clear that they were just as confused as Joule and the others. Kuroko managed to trick Knogou into bringing drinks so her friends walked over to chat.

The conversation again turned to Misaka with one of Kongou's friends asking about her. Joule sighed "She is probably mentally preparing herself to perform."

Konori nodded "Maybe, do you know what she is performing?" to which everyone shook their heads or said no.

Kongou returned with the drinks before realising how she had been tricked, she then 'accidentally' dropped Kuroko's drink.

Kuroko sighed and teleported to get another (Making sure that no one was looking first) and she chatted with the rest.

It was Saten that brought it up "Hey Kongou, how did you learn to use Aero Hand?"

Kongou looked over curiously and asked why so Joule, Saten and Uiharu explained about how during the Level-upper incident Saten had obtained an ability similar to Aero Hand.

Kongou turned her head to think before saying "I don't know if it will work but I started as a weak Telekinetic, Aero hand is an evolution of that." She stopped again "I guess you could try making paper planes, that is what I did."

Kuroko teleported back while she was speaking and asked "You made paper planes?"

Kongou puffed up her chest "At first, then I moved onto cranes and after I made enough of those fly I just started doing everything in an origami book and tossing them across a room. After that I started work on heavier things."

At some point Saten had pulled out a notebook and had started writing things down. She then looked up "Thank you Kongou, I really hope this will work."

Kongou let out a haughty laugh "I'm not wrong, If you try hard enough you might be half as strong as me one day."

She continued laughing until the performance was anounced.

Misaka came out on stage with a violin, as she played Joule closed her eyes and listened. it was beautiful.

End of chapter

I find it funny that a chapter I thought would be short ended up as one of the longest chapters I have written.

Regardless I hope it was good.

So then, Joule encountered Metal out, if only via a puppet. Saten is also trying hard to gain an ability still.

Regardless I hope I didn't miss anything that people were looking forward to.
