Mistakes and corrections

[ASG: Beginning of a Long Night]

Morning was coming yet Gunvolt still scanned the records, he needed to confirm what he had glimpsed before.

...there, "Therestina Kihara".

The leader of the MAR was the granddaughter of Gensei Kihara, the man who had put them into comas in the first place.

He heard a small voice behind him, Joule was awake "GV, what is it?"

He smiled to her and said "I will tell you in the morning."

She just nodded and returned to bed as he turned his attention back to the laptop.

The black network was limited, if there was any link other than the name it wasn't here.

In the morning then he would tell Joule and she would tell her friends in Judgement. Meanwhile he would go to Dr Kiyama and explain what he had so far to her.

GV sighed and turned off the laptop before stretching.

There was a reason that Therestina wanted the ten subjects of her grandfather now but he couldn't quite see it, regardless if a sabotage and rescue mission was required he was qualified for that.

The next morning as they ate breakfast he explained his discovery to Joule, she was shocked but agreed to pass it on to her friends when she got to them.

Gunvolt sighed "I still don't know why now, she could likely have gathered the children herself. Why did she wait until now."

Joule stopped eating as realisation washed over her "It is Haruue, she now also has Haruue."

"Haruue?" GV asked "Is that a new friend?"

Joule nodded "She knew one of the 10 students and she is a Telepath who can act beyond her level. We... Some of us think the incidents are targetted on her"

GV nodded before tapping the side of his head. So without Haruue, Therestina can't do her plan.

Joule knew what he was thinking, only the smallest bit of telepathy was used the rest was just that she knew him well. She looked at him and nodded "If we are right. Just don't jump in until we have confirmed it, we need to find another link."

[ACSR: Katsubou]

As Joule dashed into the Judgement office, it suprised everyone. The fact that she immediately had to sit down and pant for a few seconds killed the mood of the entrance she had made. When she could finally speak again she looked up at the rest of them.

"Therestina Kihara, leader of Multi Active Rescue, is the granddaughter of Gensei Kihara, the man who put the ten children into comas."

It was like a metaphorical bomb had detonated, everyone was shocked. Konori was the first to react, she turned to the computer she was beside to pull something up. After a few seconds she revealed the link that GV had misssed "Full name: Therestina Kihara Lifeline, Gensei Kihara's granddaughter and... oh my."

By this point she had everyone's attention so when Kuroko asked "Was there more?" no one else reacted.

Konori read off the screen for a moment before speaking "She is in the personel data for Kihara's lab around the time he wrote his thesis on the ability crystal."

Misaka looked up "She helped him figure out the ability crystal as his research assistant?"

Konori nodded before stopping and leting out a soft gasp, everyone crowded round the computer so they could all read the information

First Sample Taken from: Therestina Kihara Lifeline

"Therestina was the first test subject for the ability crystal!" Kuroko stated as she read.

Saten looked at her "His first test subject was his own granddaughter? And that she helped with the research?" she looked to Joule and Misaka "And that woman now has access to the ten children again?"

Uiharu had taken a few steps back, it seemed she was in a state of shock. She mumbled "Haruue." before turning to leave, she was held back by Saten

Misaka however was already at the door leaving and no one stopped her. After she left Joule looked at the others "My... friend Gunvolt is already on his way." She pulled out her phone and dialed. It wents straight to voice mail as she expected but she left a short message "Link established, Therestina helped Kihara lab research on ability crystal, she was the first test subject." She paused a moment before adding "Railgun has left the office and is likely heading her way."

She ended the recording before turning to the others.

[ASG: 1st Sumeragi - Infiltration]

Gunvolt's phone buzzed and he tapped on it, using his ability to listen to the voice mail near-instantly. He was talking to Dr Kiyama and he reported what the message had said about Therestina.

"Are you sure?" Kiyama asked and he nodded before jokingly offering "Want to use my services as an evil plan foiler?"

Dr Kiyama smiled as they left to the Multi-active rescue team headquarters.

Gunvolt just ran along the road, his powers allowing him to mimic a magnet train as he dashed. Dr Kiyama was forced to use a car.

Gunvolt got there first and peaked around a corner to see what was going on. Some trucks were being loaded with powered suits. Likely a decoy, not his problem yet.

He vaulted the wall and snuck towards the main building. It was a hospital so he shouldn't use any uncontrolled electricity.

Luckily Joule had crafted something else for him, apparently after being inspired by a ninja in the arcade. GV pulled out the first throwing knife and made sure that his hair was wrapped tightly around the handle before dashing into the building (Not the magnatic dash).

The first thing that he did was knock out the cameras of course, a good charge on their closed network to shut them all down. He tossed the knife towards the camera from outside of it's vision and let his power flow into the hair around the knife.

He might have lost his dart leader but these tag knifes were a close second. They were better than the knives he used before anyway, these were a good quality and aerodynamic.

He recovered the knife from the camera and headed inside the building proper.

A powered suit turned round a corner to stop him but he simply sidesteped and ran past, there was no need to fight them and waste knives.

As he got to the hospital level a strange sound seemed to come from outside, it sounded like really loud white noise but it didn't bother GV all that much. He looked through the windows on each door trying to look for the girl that Joule had described.

As he looked he saw a girl with long black hair seemingly with a bad headache, she might know where Haruue was as he vaugely remembered someone by her description being refered to as an acquaintance of Joule.

The girl looked up, still with the headache but she asked "Who are you?" GV decided to make this short "I am Gunvolt, a friend of Joule. Do you know where in this area a girl by the name of Haruue is?"

The girl just shook her head and pointed "When Kuroko, Saten and the others came to see her they went that way, I can't help other than that."

GV nodded and was going to leave her there until she called out then reached for her head as the pain spiked again "Leave the door open, I want to find the source of that noise."

GV nodded and left the door open as he left. He followed the corridor in the direction she had pointed. He kept checking windows until he found the reason he couldn't find her.

He found the room the pods would have been kept in, the pods however were missing. They had likely been transported elsewhere.

Retracing his steps to the entrance he broke through the shutteres that had been dropped over the doors. A few seconds after him Kongou followed through the hole he had made. The loud noise had stopped by now.

The two of them ran towards the plumes of smoke rising from the parking lot only to see a powered suit lifting an unconscious Misaka.

GV was about to throw a tag knife before Kongou began "Just a moment," she was talking to the suit and the scientist standing nearby "I'll have you know that girl you are carrying is a friend of mine." Kongou flicked out her fan as she then continued "And you do not want to cross Mitsuko Kongou of Tokiwadai middle school."

The scientist began to chuckle at least until Kongou tossed the rock she had been holding in her other hand. The rock accelerated as if a rocket had been tied to him before hitting the scientist in the forehead. The scientist dropped but before the powered suit could take a step, Gunvolt threw the tag knife he had been holding. The knife flew true and it struck the suit's hips where a joint was soft.

A few seconds later the suit and it's wearer were tazed into unconscious.

Kongou pulled out a phone as GV lifted Misaka and the two of them ran while calling for an ambulance.

[ACSR: Taisetsu na Tomodachi]

About an hour later Misaka woke in a hospital bed, Her friends were around her and Kongou and the lightning boy that Joule knew was standing by the door as if waiting to leave.

After her friends asked her if she was alright, Misaka asked what had happened.

Kongou began her prideful admission "Well i'm not one to brag but-" Kuroko tapped her and teleported Kongou outside so she would give her speech where no-one cared. Saten looked slightly grumpy at that, she might have been waiting to ask Kongou about her ability.

GV then answered properly "You were out cold when we found you, Kongou and I managed to stop you being taken away but we didn't see who had done it."

Misaka looked up "It was Therestina."

GV just nodded as Misaka tried to get out of the bed. Her legs were weak so it was hard, harder still when Kuroko tried to keep her in the bed.

Misaka just looked at her "I need to go, I have to help the children, it was my fault Therestina found them."

She pushed past Kuroko and headed for the door only to be stopped by Saten. Misaka looked at her "What are you doing?"

Saten took a breath "Misaka, I want you to stop a moment. Look around and tell me what you see."

Misaka looked confused "What do you mean, I see you standing there." A moment passed before realisation found her. Misaka glanced back and saw everyone. Kuroko and Uiharu still standing by the bed, Joule and Gunvolt near the wall. They were all looking back at her with their faces being a mix of worry and care.

"I'm sorry." Misaka said "Really. You're right. I was being selfish and I have caused trouble again."

Saten closed her eyes "It isn't any trouble. Really, but I think we would all rather fight together with you then worry about you when you are out there alone again. You know, like friends are for?"

"Saten's right!" Uiharu had a face of determination "You aren't alone, you have all of us!" Kuroko nodded as she said that

Misaka smiled "Yeah, I know I do. Thanks guys."

Everyone smiled, GV nodded with certainty.

The door opened as Kongou walked back in "Well?"

Misaka turned to her "Thanks for helping save me Kongou."

Kongou blushed and hid behind her fan "It was nothing really."

[ACSR: Real Force]

They all made it back to the judgement office quickly (A teleporter tends to help with things like that) and got to work.

Kuroko and Uiharu (plus Saten) had begun getting in contact with Anti-skill to get help.

Misaka, Joule and GV had been getting prepared.

As they worked a beeping was heard as Uiharu received data from Anti-skill.

She reported what was shown "The MAR trailers are on urban expressway 5, just passing the interchange for school district 18."

Misaka looked at the screen they had up "Urban expressway 5? That leads to school district 17 right?"

Saten looked at the map "Why is district 17 their goal?"

Uiharu spoke up "Gensei Kihara had a private lab there."

Misaka pointed out a car in the image they had "Here, can you zoom in on this car." As the zoom was performed, Gunvolt confirmed her thought "That is Dr Kiyama's car, she is already after them."

Misaka was annoyed that Dr Kiyama was trying this on her own until her friends pointed out what she herself had tried to do.

Kongou wandered over while eating a rice ball and asked if she had any reason to still be here. When Kuroko's answer cause a coughing fit Konori brought some soup to help wash it down. She had in fact brought a lot of food through, Konori smiled "We can't fight on empty stomachs now can we, eat up everyone."

As they finished suiting up Uiharu found a recording. Gunvolt took a look and said "We need to get this information to Dr Kiyama."

Misaka was standing near the door and she looked over and smiled "We will get it to her. Let's get going!"

I ended up not writing the spin-off as I have had a cold this last week and thus couldn't be bothered to start a new story like that
