Thunderclap

[ASG2: Opening Stage 2 (Gunvolt)]

When GV got to the building that Ars's laptop was being used in, he checked again to see if they had moved. On seeing they hadn't he looked up at the building and saw that it was a tall office block.

Instead of entering through the front he went into a side alley and jumped up the side of the building. Reaching a fire escape he continued up it's stairs.

Now that he was closer there was more that he could do to find Ars. He sent out signals on each level of the building, these signals would arrive on their laptop and basically pass the message "Are you there?" then if their computer wasn't modified to prevent it, it would respond to his phone without even alerting the user. While the time it took was messured in less than a second it would tell him what level he needed to check.

After climbing a few floors it was clear that they were on one of the higher levels. He watched the readouts from his phone as they relayed messages back and forth, his hope grew as the number grew smaller.

Finally it stopped shrinking and he knew he was at the right level. He gave the fire alarm attached to the door a zap to shut it down before quietly entering through the fire escape door. Now was the tricky bit, finding where on the floor they were. It was unlikely to be under their name so hacking the office's network itself was unlikely to yield any real result.

Instead he just used his code again before sneaking to the opposite side of the floor and checking again. The second spot was closer so they were on this side of the floor at least. There were a few meeting rooms in this section so he had to find a way to check them without drawing attention to himself, that was quite hard to do in his coat.

Nevertheless he made his way, ducking away from windows in doors and hiding out of sight when he heard something coming. Finally he found them in one of the last rooms. Inside the room where three people that he could see when he peeked through the window. He had read about all of them from the file that Heaven Canceller had given him.

First was the one he knew best; Ishino Kane. She was the person who had personally captured Joule. She was sitting at the table in the room and reading something on her phone. On the other side of the table was a man who was beating his fingers against the tabletop. He would be the man that Joule had said knocked down the door. His name was Ken and his ability was "Second Impact", a Telekinesis-based power that was powerful but only worked if he was in physical contact with the target.

Last was another man in the back, while the file did have information on him it annoyed GV that the Teleporter was not a part of Ars. This man was someone else, apparently he was talented with a rifle but he didn't have an esper ability. GV listened at the door but they weren't saying anything.

He took out his throwing knives and took a breath before unlocking the door's electronic lock silently before kicking down the door.

[ASG2: Vs. Copen]

They reacted quickly as he entered the room. Ken was the first to get out of his seat and he charged towards GV. Ken was also the first one defeated as GV stuck a knife into him and let a charge run through his body. Next to be ready was the sniper, he had draw a pistol and aimed it right at GV. Of course the bullet went right through him as GV used prevasion and jumped onto the table. Another knife throw later had him paralysed too.

Last was Ishino Kane. If she touched him it would be harder to save Joule so he would have to shock her before she did. GV deployed his Flashfield just as she came into range for it and she dropped to the ground.

The fight had taken less that thirty seconds. An alarm was now screaming out so he would have to get out of here soon.

He walked over to the sniper to begin his interrogation.

[ACSRT: Factions and Plots]

He hadn't been hurt too badly by the thrown knife, it had drawn blood but it hadn't struck anything important. GV grabbed him and hauled him to the fire escape. The man was panicking now but was still paralysed.

GV pushed the sniper before grabbing him by the shirt. If he were to let go now, the man would fall down over ten stories to the ground below. As his body was still recovering from the shock he had given it he wouldn't even be able to catch himself on the way down.

He spoke very calmly to the man "Your team, Ars, kidnapped a dear friend of mine. If you don't tell me where you took her, I'll drop you."

The man swallowed, he opened his mouth but no sound came out.

"Let's try it this way then." GV kept his voice as cold as ice "I'll ask a question, you make a sound for yes. If you lie, I drop you. Are we clear?"

The man grunted so GV began.

"Last night, your team kidnapped a girl."

He grunted.

"You gave her to a scientist."

He was silent at that.

"You passed her to another team?"

A grunt, that was annoying then. They wouldn't know exactly where Joule was.

"Do you work for Kihara Gensei?"

He grunted and seemed proud somehow.

"Do you know the name of the other team, the one you gave Joule to?"

The man cleared his throat and managed to get out "Aves, they are called Aves"

GV looked at him and asked "Where are Aves located?"

Slowly the man was able to give him directions. It was to another building in district 7, a hotel according to him.

GV pulled him back to safety and dropped him to the ground of the fire escape and looked down at him "If I find out you were lying, I'm going to come back and end you."

The man nodded and answered in a panicked voice "I understand"

GV jumped off the fire escape and reached street level with some magnatism. He had a second raid to perform.

End of chapter.

Your friendly reminder that GV is a badass. This might be a threatening group to some in the city, they are by no means in the big leagues.
