A new miracle

[ACMItM: FIXED STAR]

Joule took a breath as she looked at the stage they were currently waiting beside. Arisa's music could be heard loudly from speakers that she was sitting beside.

After Arisa had done that audition, the crew had wanted her to do a show in a mall to generate interest. Somehow, they had all got roped in to helping.

They had all been given outfits and Arisa had been the first on the stage waving to the crowd. They weren't expected to sing, just to stand on stage and look slightly less interesting than Arisa.

It was an odd feeling, getting up on stage with the expectation that people wouldn't be paying her any attention. Joule took a sip of water and stepped up on to the stage.

She gave a little wave and stood to one side of the stage.

Hopefully this wouldn't feel that long. It had been agreed that they would stay for about half an hour so Joule just hoped it would fly by farely quickly.

"Are you okay?" Misaka asked from behind her.

She had just climbed on to the stage then. Joule nodded "I'm feeling odd but largely fine."

Their voices were covered by the music so it was unlike that the crowd would hear them.

Kuroko joined them on stage soon after, followed by Uiharu and finally Saten.

Misaka left to check on Uiharu who looked very tense so Saten walked over to Joule. It seemed she didn't want to stand on her own.

"Do you think any of them recognise you? I mean, you were the person in second place."

Joule smiled and turned away so the crowd couldn't see her lips "I'm not sure, but think about Misaka for a moment. Imagine if anyone recognises they got one of the level 5s on stage."

Saten smirked "Ah yes."

They looked over to Misaka who was now standing alone, Uiharu having walked to another part of the stage. Misaka was clearly uncomfortable with all the people in the crowd looking at her.

"Let's join her." Joule suggested. Saten nodded and they both walked over to her.

Misaka stepped back as they approached so they wouldn't be the center of attention. Arisa was still holding everyone's focus in her own way so it wasn't that hard.

"Misaka, are you feeling okay?" Joule returned the question she had asked earlier.

"I'm fine." Misaka spoke a little two quickly to be entirely convincing.

Joule nodded but reminded her "You can always take a break for a moment if you want, just keep it in mind."

"Sure."

The three split and went their own ways. Joule was once again alone at her section of the stage so she made sure to wave.

She turned to look at the upper level of the mall and saw GV sitting on a bench, seemingly ignoring them.

Smiling, Joule sent a message to Lumen "Did you call him?"

"Yep, he has been here since near the start. Even if someone attacks the show, he's here to help." Lumen replied calmly.

Joule had needed to but her hair into twintails again to hide Lumen. Luckily she had her butterfly pin to make the look symmetrical.

It was a bit of a pity that Arisa couldn't chat with them during this but she was the star after all.

A few minutes later they had rotated around the stage again. Saten, Kuroko and Misaka had taken their breaks at around the same time leaving the stage largely empty. Joule and Uiharu were making sure to wave to the crowd.

Suddenly though there was a rumble. The stage lights and the music cut out.

"What's wrong? A power outage?"

The voice came from the staff as they tried to figure out what was going on. The girls on break quickly joined those on the stage.

"Something's wrong." Kuroko noted "I felt a rumble."

"Like vehicles?" Uiharu asked. Kuroko shook her head "Like explosives."

One of the guards for the event called to them "Girls, the rest of this even has been cancelled. We'll get you back to Orbit Portal."

Arisa nodded "Right."

[ACMItM: What's your problem!]

Before anyone was able to leave though there was a much stronger rumble. The glass above them shattered and the stage began to shake and fall apart.

The shaking knocked a few of them to the floor just as one of the large and heavy pieces of the stage prepared to fall on all of them.

"Kuroko!" Misaka spoke quickly.

Kuroko grabbed onto Saten and Uiharu and teleported them out. She wasn't fast enough for a second quick jump so Misaka covered Joule and Arisa and used her power to prevent the metal from falling.

As she held the metal to stop it falling any further, Misaka muttered "This whole place is crumbling!"

Suddenly there was someone by her side. As another bit of the stage fell, GV deflected it aside.

The two of them together were able to shove the objects out of the way. That didn't help anything else though. The entire place was coming down and the crowd was largely still here.

"How-" Misaka cut off as an odd light filled the area. To her side she could see Arisa's mouth move slightly. Was she... singing?

Lumen gasped softly out loud "That- It's like the Mages."

"The mages? What do you mean Joule?" Misaka had apparently heard Lumen but assumed it to be Joule.

[ACMItM: And only the miracle remained]

Finally everything had finished falling so everyone stood up to take a look around.

Kuroko teleported back and pulled on her armband while calling out.

"Listen! Judgement is here to help you, call out if you need assistance!"

The odd light had vanished by now and people were starting to talk.

It seemed that somehow, no one had been harmed.

The crowd was talking quitely, the word on most of their lips was "Miracle."
