Kidnapping in progress

[ACMItM: What's your problem!]

The feeling of your breathing being restricted was terrifying. Joule had never really felt it like this before.

When she tried to pull in a breath she just felt a tug on the icey gag and felt a trickle of water go down.

That cold water made her cough and a spurt of air from her nose reminded her she did still have a way to breathe.

She breathed in through her nose and looked around.

Someone was fiddling behind her and she felt rope. They were tying her up.

A sharp cry of pain redirected her attention.

Misaka really was amazing. While she was gagged, she could still electrocute people. There was no way that they could grab her.

The electromaster looked angry, Joule could respect that.

Joule felt something cold and wondered if it was more ice. It wasn't, it was a knife made of ice.

"Back of sparky, I don't want to hurt any of you if I don't have to. Let us restrain you or your friend will need to go to the hospital quite quickly.

Misaka gave a grunt and didn't move. She still looked ready to pounce.

The woman behind Joule moved and one of the others moved back to Misaka.

Others? Ah, it was the three witches. Joule would have liked to ask what they were doing but the gag prevented that.

Kuroko was tied down to her chair after a reminder that she could be stabbed just as easily.

"Lumen. Go get GV." Joule gave a mental instruction.

As Lumen's butterfly form began to flutter away from her on silent wings, one of the girls looked over. It was the shortest looking one that wore a headpiece with animal ear like spikes at the back.

She watched the butterfly move around but after pausing she shook her head and moved on to tying up a paniced Uiharu.

Less than a minute after that attack started it was over.

The other girl, the one with the quill, moved over to Arisa and put a knife to her neck as the girl behind Joule removed the icey knife from her. They were switching hostages then?

It had been the water witch behind her, Joule could see as she moved around to the side of the earth witch and grabbed Arisa.

They were going to kidnap her then? Was there anyway she could stop them?

Not really, they had gagged her and bound her. Joule was basically useless right at that moment. She looked around desperately.

Misaka was looking out the window, did she see something? Following her gaze led to-

Kongou? She was standing outside with her friends looking into the building in horror.

They wouldn't be enough though. Aero Hand and the friend's collective water control could counter two out of the three witches but the last one would still beat them. What they had to do then was call for help before the witches left.

It didn't look like any of the friends were in a hurry to stop watching so Joule used her ability to give them a mental prod just as a blindfold was being tied around Arisa's face.

"Call for help and call Anti-skill! This is a kidnapping!"

Luckily they got the message. One of Kongou's friends hid behind a car while pulling out her phone while Kongou took a breath.

"Help! There's a kidnapping in progress!"

The witches spun around to see Kongou. That moment of distraction was crucial.

Kuroko teleported her ropes off and pulled out needles before teleporting them in such a way as to break the knife use to take Arisa hostage.

Arisa fell, she was still blindfolded and with her hands and legs bound there wasn't much she could do. Now with no hostage, Misaka was free to send electricity forth to attack. Bound limbs were nothing to her.

"Right, I don't care!" The water witch declared before grabbing Arisa of the floor and halling her up. Her movements were still a little jerky from Misaka's attack but she was able to use quick water movements to catch the next few bolts thrown her way before speaking again, this time to her allies "Get us a way out."

"Right, Marie." The earth witch spoke as she quickly put her pen to ground in order to create a wall to block Misaka's attacks.

Misaka still couldn't move so she couldn't get around the side. She could however hop and drag herself along the floor.

The witches didn't bother to wait though, with Arisa in hand they broke out through the very window Kongou was outside.

The wind witch blasted Kongou with a blast of wind that pushed her back slightly and the witches crammed themselves into a car that had just parked nearby. Joule couldn't see who was in the car but she made a guess that it was the fire mage.

"You won't get away." A voice could be heard that seemed to come from a speaker. It was the robots from before!

At the same time a flash of light brought GV onto the scene.

As the mage's car drove away and the robots followed, Joule quickly formed a mental link and spoke to GV.

"I'm fine, I'll be free in just a moment. Arisa's in more danager right now. Please, help her."

GV hesitated for a moment before nodding and sending a mental reply.

"Then stay safe. Hopefully, I'll be back to get you in a few minutes."

Joule couldn't exactly give him a smile with the ice covering her face but she did give him a nod before he bolted away after the car and the robot.

A moment after everything stopped rushing around, Kongou and her friends headed in and began untying them.

End of chapter.

Ah, good. I'm having that feeling again when I think that GV doesn't really have much of a character of his own in this story.

His role just seems to be "Assist Joule."

I just can't seem to remember his personality other than his care for Joule writing for him is even harder than normal.
