Reasons (Un)Explained

[ASG3: Cyber Strategist Maze - Roar]

When asked "How could you get there faster than a teleporter." GV would have to sigh.

First, because it was entirely possible that Shirai might get there first.

But the second reason was about his method of travel.

He'd have to first explain the right hand rule, the scientific rule that he and Misaka could use to control magnatism, and then point out how he was using his septimal power to abuse that rule and make it treat him as a magnetic material...

Not that it mattered as he jumped from roof to roof which was much faster than moving at ground level in the middle of the day.

He was able to propel himself off each roof with enough force to land him safely on the next one. With each step he took on the roof, he gave himself a small boost against the metals in the floor below him. If, while in midair, he realised he didn't get the angle or power right, he could create a charged pocket of air below his feet that he could push off but that cost him a lot of energy so he'd need to recover once he landed.

As far as he knew, Misaka didn't bother with the pocket and just used her overwhelming power to force herself into something if she was stuck in the air. Her method used even more electricity than his and she could do it multiple times.

"The cheater." He muttered with a slight laugh.

He smiled, looking towards the building he was running towards.

Misaka's powers really interested him actually. It seemed one of the differences between Espers and Adepts was about power. If GV overused his power, it would leave him drained but fully able to do other things. If Misaka overused her power, she'd get splitting headaches and be unable to do anything other than moan in bed.

Apparently. The only source he had for that was Misaka herself when they had talked in the past.

Misaka didn't get drained, she could keep going until her brain finally gave up. On the other hand, GV could get exhausted but he was able to quickly recover his power over, in the best case, a few seconds of focus.

Regardless, he was almost there. Joule had asked for his help and he'd been filled in on roughly what was going on. He wouldn't be able to see the ghost girl without Lumen's help but he'd just have to trust the others.

Hokaze and Yumiya were apparently already there after all.

As he glided over the last roof, he looked down at the building that had once held the experiments that had apparently been the source of all of these problems. The same building where he'd had to fight Misaka with Touma's help.

The door was broken open.

He fell through the air, creating pockets of charged air to slow his fall. Not a moment after he landed, he dashed into the door.

The area was full of scrapped security robots, he just followed the trail of carnage. On the way he had to dispose of a few of the robots. He just stepped in and shocked most of them with a small sphere of electricity held in his palm.

He was thinking of calling this trick "Dragonsphere" it certainly gave him options while he had a limited number of knives and a pistol wouldn't do much damage.

He came out into an open room and caught sight of the two girls he had been asked to help. They had turned to look at him.

In doing so, they looked away from some kind of scientist or doctor who sat on a small staircase.

"Hmm." The doctor grunted. He didn't look as old as some of the villains behind plots in academy city. The girls weren't attacking him though. He had probably been talking.

GV tilted his head "Go on, I'm only back-up for the girls."

"Right." The doctor sighed "Well, to be honest, I'm not as interested in telling the story with you here. It relates to the girls and the experiment they were a part of after all."

The girl whose hair covered one of her eyes looked at him "No, please." She was polite as she spoke "Do go on."

The man let out a sigh and nodded "Where was I...? Oh yes, we were trying to create a God."

GV really felt like he was missing something as the man held his arms wide and declared "And this is the result."

But his head fell and a slight chuckle came from his lips as he continued "We were all trapped in that dream."

Hokaze, the girl with that spiral hair, spoke firmly. Anger flowing freely from her tone.

"Is that your excuse for sacrificing lives? Have you no shame?"

The man didn't respond. He didn't look scared. He just continued to sit on that step.

Then, finally, he rose from that seat, his eyes closed.

"You are right. Exactly right."

[ACSRT: Now, Let The Experiment Begin]

A strange change occured then. GV tensed as lightning began to crackle around the man. Just as it now flowed out of Hokaze.

However, while Hokaze's lightning was white, the man's was black.

Black lightning.

GV knew about lightning. It was core to his and Misaka's powers after all.

In truth, the man's lightning wasn't black. It couldn't be as long as it was the result of science. It was just a very deep purple.

Even then that meant something strange was happening. White lightning was basically natural, his own blue lightning was due to strange effects that even he didn't quite understand. But purple lightning had specific requirements. If Hokaze's was white, his should be too right?

"So, let us settle the score here." The man commented "This is a power that Ideal can still replicate at it's full specs. It was because Yuuri Senya spent so long learning it and was recently spurred on by some odd people and the events around them."

He held up a hand and lightning flickered between his fingers.

"Rampage Dress."

Hokaze's ability, emulated by the person they were here to save and gifted to the person in their way.

"Although now it might be better called a Black Tuxedo." the man spoke firmly.

End of chapter.

And here we are. Basically the last boss of Astral buddy.

And now GV gets Joule's spot of "I'm here and no one has really explained anything to me."
