Their next meeting, after he'd finished with Karate class, was in Angel Grove park. They were searching for more insects, and had apparently been attacked by Putties sometime earlier. For a moment, even as he helped to gather up more insects, Tommy wished that he could have gotten to them in time to actually help. Still, it was the kind of situation he was at least familiar with.
Though, admittedly he hadn't liked it any better when he'd arrived too late to help his fellow Animorphs with one of their problems.
When Zordon contacted them, informing them that Zack was in trouble and they needed to go help him, Tommy found himself reminded for a moment of the way Tobias would round up the metaphorical stragglers when the Animorphs needed to meet up for some kind of mission or other. Still, the fact that Zordon was the one telling them what was going on rather than one or more of them having to investigate things on their own did strike Tommy as kind of strange.
The fight itself only lasted for what felt like a few minutes, before Rita made that spider monster of hers grow and they had to call the Zords in; after that, it was pretty much all over but the shouting.
