Back at the school...
Bakugo couldn't stop his quirk from going berserk. His sweating constantly wasn't helping things either. It wasn't letting up anytime soon, and he didn't want anyone to get in the way of an oncoming blast.
He watched Uraraka try to help him, but he felt another blast coming. Quickly nudging her out of the way, the blast erupted from his palms and pushed him into her. Bakugo fell on top of her, accidentally getting some sweat on her. He got away from her, but she grabbed his arm before could.
"Bakugo, I know what this is," Uraraka said as she pointed to that stuffed toy on the ground, "It's that! It's the power of the Monkey Miraculous. He used it on Deku not that long ago during our date at Andre's."
Bakugo's eyes widened as he looked back at the stuffed toy. It was an angry Pomeranian stuffed dog. He looked as though it was taunting him. His veins bulged out of his head as he looked around for this Monkey Miraculous holder.
"I'm gonna roast that damn Ape!" Bakugo yelled as more sweat beaded down his forehead.
"Bakugo, you've gotta calm down. This isn't helping your quirk," Uraraka reminded him, "This power will fade away soon. Until then, you should cool down."
Todoroki came to them with a little bit of a burn on his arm. Bakugo noticed he did and felt sick to his stomach. He may have been annoyed with Todoroki a lot of the times, but he never wanted to actually hurt him, not when his quirk was acting up like this.
Todoroki walked up to him and created ice on his right arm once again to cool him down. Bakugo felt so relieved once he felt that ice cold come over him. His quirk seemed to relax a little, so he let Todoroki help him out this time around.
Bakugo looked back at him, but hesitated to say anything. Todoroki could tell he wanted to, so kept cooling him down.
"Thank you... Todoroki..." Bakugo mumbled to him and made sure only he could hear it.
Todoroki's eyes widened, but then smiled subtly at him.
"Sure, it's no problem," Todoroki said to him, "We're friends, aren't we?"
Bakugo didn't even dare to say anything else to him, especially when things were still heated up with Dragon Queen. He watched Midoriya on the other side of the gym with Dragon Queen. She looked like she might use her Miraculous on him or do something that they didn't expect again.
But then, Bakugo noticed something rather odd on her chest. There were three strange looking designs on her costume. It looked like a cloud, a water drop and possibly lightning. The water drop and cloud were now grey while the last one was yellow.
Bakugo then realized what her Miraculous power is.
"Uraraka... Todoroki... Look at her costume..." Bakugo said to them, "Those symbols, they look like three elements."
They both noticed it right away and realized what he was getting at.
"That's her--"
"Her power. She can turn into three elements. The first one was wind and the second one was water."
Uraraka looked at her costume again and noticed the shape of the next one.
"So, the next one looks like maybe lightning?" Uraraka said to them.
"Yeah, looks like it. I bet once she uses that last one though, she might have to detransform," Bakugo pointed out, "She can only use each one of them one time."
"Wow, that really is a powerful Miraculous. Ladybug was right," Todoroki said to them, "Maybe we should let Mr. Aizawa know about this."
Before they could plan anything however, Dragon Queen looked back at them. She saw Bakugo on the floor, and he sent a glare her way. She was about to head over to them when Midoriya tried to stop her. He ended up tackling her to the floor, and her sword slid right over to Uraraka.
Uraraka eyed it and quickly grabbed the sword before she could.
Dragon Queen quickly noticed this and tried to kick Midoriya off of her. Mr. Aizawa wrapped his scarf at her and pulled her over to him.
"Let go of me, old man!" Dragon Queen cried out, "You have no idea who you're dealing with!"
"Yeah, I think I do," Mr. Aizawa said, "A spoiled brat who doesn't know when to give up."
Dragon Queen sent a piercing glare his way, but he did the same even if his quirk didn't work on her. Bakugo noticed that the stuffed toy had poofed away, and he already felt a lot better. His sweating had calmed down a little, but it might take a while that to go away. He wiped himself off and tried to stand up.
"Bakugo, what're you doing? You clearly still don't feel very good," Uraraka said to him, "You should sit this one out."
"Uh, hello? Lizard Queen is still here!" Bakugo said to her, "And that damn Ape is still around here somewhere. You know who he is, don't you?"
"Yeah, but that is not what we're dealing with right now," Uraraka said as she held onto the sword tightly.
"Tell me, Uraraka. Right now!"
"You guys, now is not the time to be fighting with villains around!" Iida reminded them.
Everyone turned around when they heard Dragon Queen start to burst out laughing. Midoriya got up from his spot on the ground and carefully made his way closer to her.
"What's so funny, Chloe?" Mr. Aizawa asked her, "I've caught you. You should stand out while you still can."
Midoriya didn't like where this was heading. He looked at the gym. There was still water around from her last attack, and then he noticed him and Bakugo were wet. Something clicked when he last saw Dragon Queen. His eyes widened in shock and ran over to Mr. Aizawa.
"Uraraka, get Bakugo out of here!" Midoriya cried out.
Uraraka and the others all turned to Midoriya a little confused. Bakugo knew right away that he figured it out and listened to him anyway.
"Uraraka, let's go!" Bakugo cried out.
"U-Uh, right!"
Uraraka used her quirk on him and quickly ran out of the way.
Midoriya ran towards Mr. Aizawa when he saw Dragon Queen start to become lightning.
"Lightning Dragon!"
"Mr. Aizawa!"
Midoriya pushed his teacher out of the way, but ended up getting struck by lightning in the process. Iida ran as fast as could to get them out of there, but the lightning struck him in the engines.
Before they knew it, Dragon Queen had transformed back into herself. Her Miraculous started to beep.
Midoriya fell to the floor writhing in pain. Static shocks shot up his back and all around him. Iida could barely move his legs since his engines were damaged.
"Mi-Midoriya..." he said to him, "Yo-You've gotta get up..."
Midoriya heard footsteps coming towards him. His heart stopped for a moment, when he remembered the day he thought Chloe might take his Miraculous away from him. The image of her laughing at him came up again, and he felt the sudden need to get away from her. This was Chloe he was dealing with, and now she had the Dragon Miraculous. He actually thought he could get through to her.
He couldn't do it.
Dragon Queen stepped over him and pulled at his hair once again. The static was still coursing through him, so that didn't help him either.
"You really thought you could stop us? Even without your precious Miraculous," Dragon Queen said to him, "Even if you're right about HawkMoth taking your quirk, that just makes things more fun for us."
Bakugo, Uraraka and Todoroki came running back to see Midoriya in the hands of Dragon Queen. They could tell Iida was hit by the lightning because he couldn't get up. Mr. Aizawa got shocked a little, but nothing he couldn't deal with.
"Deku!" Uraraka cried out, but Bakugo held her back.
"Her Miraculous is going to detransform soon. We should surround her," He told her.
They both nodded at him and ran around the gym, more spread out. Bakugo and Todoroki were on either side of her while Uraraka's back was facing the front door of the school.
"Give up, Dragon Queen!" Uraraka cried out, "You're Miraculous is about to detransform!"
Dragon Queen looked up at Uraraka, realizing she was always in the way. She heard how Uraraka took the Fox Miraculous from Lila and remembered all the times she stood up for Midoriya. That rosy cheeked face always showed up around him.
Dragon Queen gave Uraraka a piercing stare as she lifted Midoriya up by his hair. Uraraka's caramel brown eyes stared daggers at her as she saw her boyfriend being hurt by Chloe. She clenched her teeth when Uraraka realized she didn't know what to do. Midoriya could barely move from the lightning attack, and if they got any closer, some other Miraculous holder might come in and take over.
"Looks like someone's upset that I have their boyfriend all to myself," Dragon Queen said tauntingly as she poked at his freckled face, "I don't why you even like him. He's so plain looking."
Uraraka couldn't stand someone like her, and she really wanted to run in there to stop her. Another could be heard from the Dragon Miraculous.
"Give it up, Chloe," Midoriya said to her, "Your Miraculous is running low. If you don't get out now, Mr. Aizawa is gonna--"
Dragon Queen stepped on his hand, causing him to let out a cry.
"Deku!" Uraraka yelled out, but then felt something almost hit the sword she was holding.
She noticed a ball roll over to her feet. Picking it up, she examined it. It didn't look like something from the Monkey Miraculous.
"I wasn't talking to you, Broccoli Boy!"
"Chloe, let him go!" Todoroki demanded.
"I told you, it's--"
Suddenly, a rush of wind came flooding into the school, causing everyone to shut their eyes. Dirt flew up in the air, and no one knew what just happened. Bakugo and Todoroki thought that Dragon Queen might've gotten some backup or one of her powers came back.
As the dirt cleared up however, Bakugo and Todoroki spotted someone holding Midoriya in their arms. They were in a crouched position, ready to pounce at any given moment. They both noticed wings coming out of the heroes back, not realizing who it was.
Midoriya opened his eyes, feeling someone holding him protectively. Dirt had gotten in his eyes, so he had to wait for it to clear up. He looked up and saw a familiar pair of blue eyes and dark blue ponytails.
But something about her felt different.
As she held him close, he could feel the same One for All energy coming off of her. Then he noticed the antennas and sparkling wings surrounding them for protection.
"Ladybug...?"
She smiled down at her friend, so happy to see he was okay.
"I'm so glad I came here just in time," Ladybug said to him, "It looks like we left at a terrible time."
"Yeah, you could say that," Midoriya said with a sweat drop forming on his forehead, "Bu-But how're you...? You feel... different somehow--"
"Izuku, now's not the time for this. We need to take care of Chloe first," She said to him while letting him go.
Cat Noir landed on the ground quite swiftly by Ladybug's side. He swung his baton at the ready when he saw Chloe in her Dragon Miraculous costume.
"Guys, it's alright. She's about to detransform," Midoriya said to them.
Ladybug and Cat Noir shared a look, and Ladybug stood in front of them. As Guardian of the Miraculous, she knew what she had to do. In an instant, Ladybug zoomed over to Dragon Queen surprising everyone around her who was watching. Even Midoriya felt that breeze as feeling very familiar to AllMight's.
"There's no way..." Midoriya thought to himself.
Ladybug grabbed Dragon Queen's arms and pinned them behind her back. Even she was shocked to see her so fast and with a different hero costume.
"Hey! What're you doing, Ladybug?!" Dragon Queen shouted at her.
"Yes. I'm taking back my Miraculous. As Guardian of the Miraculous, it is my job to protect the Miraculous from people like you."
Ladybug took the Dragon Miraculous, and Dragon Queen detransformed into Chloe. Ladybug was about to put the Dragon Miraculous into her yo-yo, but then Chloe tried to grab it from her.
"No! Ladybug, it's yours to take away from me! Chrysalis gave it to me, not you!" Chloe cried out.
Cat Noir held her back, but she wasn't letting up.
"I'm sorry, Chloe. But after everything's that happened with you, you can't be trusted with a Miraculous," Ladybug said as she placed the Miraculous into the yo-yo.
The Dragon Miraculous was now back with Ladybug.
Another amazing chapter!
This was an interesting chapter to write! It was fun writing about Bakugo and Uraraka starting to get along! I don't ship them, but I do like them as friends if possible. I don't think we got enough of that in the series.
Bakugo's quirk is finally starting to work. Dragon Queen really did a number on them though. Midoriya and the others were able to figure out her next move, but they just weren't fast enough. Luckily, Ladybug finally showed up with her new look and a little bit of One for All.
I wanted to really show that it's still her power, just more enhanced! I'm sure they'll be more about it later.
