Chapter Five
Summer 13
He looks at her face as he think to himself "please have a pulse, please for the love and yoba…" he move his hand down to hers and slowly put two fingers against her wrist as he bite his lip a little. The gentle feeling of a pulse hits his fingertips, he smiles sadly. He gently sits down and moves her into his lap, pulling her close as he holds her just feeling how cold she really is. "What did you do Dorie?…" he gently takes her glasses and puts them in his sweater pocket. He rubs her back and look at the darkness around him. He looks at the dagger and glare a little. "When I get you outta here I'm gonna recommend no mining for a while! Doctor… orders…" he looks at the diamond. "If it wasn't for that I don't know if I would have found you." He gently move his thumb against her cheek, he blushes a bit and sighs. "I'm not a brave man Dorie. I'm the only doctor in this town which means I gotta make sure to keep you safe. Before meeting you, i probably never would have been able to speak this openly…" he slowly moves his hand over hers and squeezes it. "You're changing me Dorie… and I'm beginning to think I like it." His face turns to worry as he whisper "I'm gonna get you out of here… no matter what!" As the sweat drips down his forehead, he carefully lifts himself up while holding Dorie bridal style, he slowly begins to walk towards the elevator. With the sudden movement Dorie gently nuzzle into him, pressing her cheek into his chest. This causes Harvey to pause for a moment as he looks down at her. He starts moving only after Dorie settles down, he sees the frame of the elevator as he softly smile. He gently maneuver inside the small box and hits the 0 button, it slowly ascends as he leans himself against the back of it. The doors open to reveal Marlon and Lunis bandaging themselves up, they glance over as Harvey walks out of the elevator with an unconscious Dorie in tow. Marlon's eye widens as he sees the gash. "That looks pretty nasty, I'm guessing you're gonna take her back and patch her up doctor?" Harvey nods and with a stern voice as he looks down "I'm gonna to take care of her injuries and admit her to the clinic for tonight." Harvey passes them as he slowly walks out, never taking a break. Not wanting to risk dropping Dorie at all during their travel back to town. He just begins to think as his legs take him to the front door of the clinic, he pushes his back against the door and open it as he carries her to the bed she used yesterday morning. He prepares an i.v. bag and gently sets her up, he then cleans the big cut on her against her calf and stitches it shut. He disposes the hazards and put the tools to be clean, he comes back in and sits next to her. He takes her hand into his and her holds it a firmly as he gently strokes her knuckles with his thumb as he mumbles "please wake up soon Dorie…." Harvey gets up and heads to his room as he changes back into his pjs.
Dorie jolts up quickly, glancing around in a cold sweat. All around her is nothing but glowing crystals and jewels. "W..what is this?…" she trying to get up quickly, as she does she squeal as she glances at her leg, sewed closed. "When did this happen? H..hello! Anyone?" She slowly limps a bit as she glances in the crystals, each one seems to have a different timeline or vision. The black one shows her a small bat, as others show different outcomes to her. She looks around and sees one white one, small in size curiosity gets the better of her as she moves over to it and glance in. The only thing she can see is a small sage green junimo, and the shadows of bigger ones hovering over him. The little junimo tears up as she try to touch it, all the crystals shatter! Dorie begins to plummet into the black void below. She screams but yet no one can hear her until the darkness becomes light. She leans up quickly as she takes deep breathes. She looks around but this time it's a place with white walls, unable to see she groans as she rubs her head. "H..hello?" The sound of shatter ceramic hits the floor, Harvey stares as he just gives in to his heart. "D..Dorie…" She glances at the door and squints as she mumbles "Ha..Harvey.. is that you?" Harvey quickly comes over as he avoids the broken mug, he sits in the chair and moves over. "Y..you're awake!" As he gets closer she gets a better view though still blurry she can tell it's him, even with his hair and all. "How did I.. get here?" In an instance Harvey hugs Dorie tightly pulling her in, he rests his chin on her shoulder as her squeezes her. She immediately hugs him back and whisper "Harvey I…" Before she could get out anything else Harvey interrupts her "what the hell were you thinking!" She pauses as she finally feels her shirt, slowly getting wet from Harvey's tears "y..you didn't come and I..I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong or that something bad happened." She moves back slowly "Harvey… it's okay.. I'm right here." Harvey picks up her glasses off the table and gently puts them on her face as she sees his face she can tell his eyes are a bit red. "You were not okay.. I found you with that big gash and you were knocked out cold!" She looks down as she messes with her fingers. "Did I scare you?" He looks her dead in the eyes "you gave me quite a scare.." she tears up "then I'm guessing you're mad at me." She frowns as she looks at the bedsheets, Harvey frowns a bit before sighing his frown quickly replaced with a small teary smile. "How could I ever be mad at you… I'm just relieved that you're okay." She looks up at him as she smiles back "that's good, out of everyone I just… don't want you to hate me." He's face fades to relief "I don't think I ever could." He takes her hand and squeeze it one more, his smiling never fading as he looks at the girl he carried out of the mines. He remembers the adrenaline as he carried her here, he pushes himself. He wanted to make sure his Dorie was home safe and sound. He goes and cleans up the broken mug, and throws it away. Then h r comes back and helps her up slowly, one hand on her upper back and the other lower. She puts one hand onto his shoulder and the other on his chest. She looks at the clock "It's 3 in the morning. Harvey I have to go home. He looks her sternly "no way you're staying here tonight." She turns to him a bit surprised "I don't want to be a bother." He smile "since when have I said that you were a bother?" She smiles back as her eyes soften "okay you got me there." He slowly helps her up the stairs and gives her some spare clothes, she goes into the bathroom and comes out extending her arms as she glances at how big his shirt is. "Okay, I know I'm larger than you, but I hope those clothes are comfortable." He comes over and wraps his arm around her shoulder. "I'm very comfy.~ are you positive about me taking the bed?" He leads her over "of course, I've crashed on my couch a good amount of times. I'll be alright." He helps her in and tucks her in, he slowly moves to where the couch is "get some rest Dorie. Doctor's orders." He lays down on the couch as Dorie responses "you too Harvey." She smile as she starts to think. "Why did I have that dream about that junimo… and that bat but most importantly…" she turns her focus on the couch as she concentrate a bit thinking "Man I want that man so badly.~"
