Minato and I were using the Body Flicker jutsu to move at high speeds through the trees in training ground three to reach where Kazuto sensei was. During the tree climbing exercise, I managed to reach the top before Minato by three steps.

I felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing that my hard work was paying off; I managed to beat Minato at something. He then went on to master the body flicker two days before me.

As we reached Kazuto sensei at the same time he looked at us with an impressed grin. "You two did well to master the Body Flicker with no hand signs. Every ninja in the world knows how to perform this jutsu without hand signs. Well done. Did you spar like I told you to?"

Minato was the one to reply, "Yes sensei, we managed to spar on the trees without falling or touching the ground for one hour."

"That's good. Now Let's move on to the next step of your training." He told us as he handed us small sheets of white blank paper. "These are Chakra Induction Papers. When you induct your chakra into them they will tell you which chakra nature you are most proficient with and which ones you can use." He said as he showed us an example. As he held the paper it started to burn about halfway and then it crumbled away.

"Since mine burned then crumbled away, that means I can use both fire-style and earth-style ninjutsu, and because it burned first I am better at fire-style than earth-style. Now you first Yato." He explained to us.

I poured my chakra into the paper in between my fingers. Suddenly the top half wrinkled, and a second after that the top right corner got wet as the left corner burned. I noticed sensei got a serious look on his face

"Now you try Minato". He instructed as Minato held the paper and concentrated. The left corner burned, and then a cut appeared on the right corner before it wrinkled.

Sensei had a surprised look on his face. "So Yato is most proficient with lighting then water and then fire; In that order. Minato is most proficient with fire than wind and then lightning." Sensei explained to us as he took a second to think and collect his thoughts.

"Yato since your least proficient element is fire, B-rank is the highest level ninjutsu you will be able to use. The same for you Minato except with lightning instead of fire." He informed as he continued. "You two should be proud, most shinobi are only proficient with one or two chakra natures; with three chakra natures, you will both become splendid shinobi. But you must work your butts off to master them; just because you have them doesn't mean you can use them." He said in a serious tone.

"Yes sir." Minato and I said at the same time.

"I can only teach you both fire-style. Yato it might be a bit more difficult to learn fire style because it appeared last on the paper but just keep practicing." He said to me.

"Minato pay close attention to the hand seals for this jutsu." He goes on to do the hand seals and yells out the name of the jutsu while aiming at the river.

"Fire style: Fire Ball Jutsu" he exhales a giant ball of fire from his mouth into the water. "Now you try." He told Minato. He didn't even look at me.

Minato steps up and proceeds to do the hand signs while yelling out the jutsu name.

"Fire style: Fire Ball Jutsu" his fireball was a bit bigger than sensei's.

"Well done Minato. This jutsu is a right of passage to the Uchiha clan you know. Now this one is a bit easier. Let me show you." He says as he was going to show Minato another jutsu. He completely ignored me.

Before he could step up to the river and show Minato the next jutsu, I walk passed him. My hair shadowing over my eyes. I noticed a smirk on Minato's face. As I reach the edge of the river I do the appropriate hand signs to the jutsu that I had witnessed two times just now.

"Fire style: Fire Ball Jutsu" I yell out and then exhale the fireball out of my mouth. It was the same size as Minato's fireball.

Minato had a proud look on his face.

There was a look of bewilderment on Kazuto sensei's face.

(3rd pov)

"Sensei" Minato says to him as he looks at Yato with a wide smile on his face.

"Don't underestimate Yato," Minato says with his eyes burning bright blue.

"He is my rival." Minato declared to Kazuto sensei.

(1st pov)

I turn around with a determined look at Minato.

"I will not let you widen the gap between us. I will reach you and one day I will defeat you. No matter how long it takes." I declare to my rival.

"I welcome your challenge anytime Yato." Minato responds with a smile as he reaches his left fist out towards me.

I look at it and reach out my right fist and we both fist-bump.

Kazuto sensei still looking at me with a look of confusion. I looked at him and asked, "Is something the matter sensei?" It took him a second to register my question and replied, " No no, I'm fine. I apologize if I left you neglected."

"It's alright sensei, shall we continue?". I asked back.

Kazuto sensei proceeded to teach us the Phoenix Flower Jutsu as well as the Burning Ash Jutsu. He told us to keep practicing these three jutsu and to use them in our spars in a non-lethal way of course.

(Kazuto pov)

~The Hokage Building~

I knocked on the door leading to lord Hokage's office.

"Come in" I heard from inside and went in. I kneeled out of respect to lord third.

"Kazuto is everything alright? How is the academy treating you? " He asks in a friendly tone.

"Yes everything is alright lord Hokage, I like being a teacher in the academy." I responded to lord Hokage.

A smile appeared on his face as he said, "That's good to hear Kazuto. Now, was there something you needed?"

"One of the students in my class recently told me that he along with Minato will be taking the graduation exam this year to graduate early. So I took it upon myself to help strengthen their foundation." I inform lord Hiruzen.

He nodded with a satisfied hum and said, "That's good to hear. Although I am surprised there is another that will be taking the exam early." I nodded and replied, "Yes sir, that's actually why I came to you, lord Hokage. I have given them the Chakra Induction Papers today and I found that both of them have the three chakra nature. Minato is proficient with fire, wind, and lightning. As for the other, he is proficient with lightning, water, and fire." The Hokage's eyes widened a bit in surprise as he said, "A shinobi with three chakra natures is quite rare. Minato is no surprise, he has always been a genius; but who is this other student that you spoke of?" He asked with a curious look on his face.

"His name is Yato Ichimaru sir. He and Minato consider each other rivals. He often spars with Minato and has just become proficient in the shurikenjutsu. Earlier I assumed he was just a hard worker who didn't want to be left behind by Minato. But something happened today that makes me believe that he is quite talented himself." I answer lord third's question.

"As I taught them the Fire Ball Jutsu Minato proceeded to do it on his first try even better than I did. I told Yato that since he was least proficient with fire-style it was going to be more difficult for him to learn the jutsu." I continued, "As I was going to show them the Phoenix Flower Jutsu, Yato went on and did the Fire Ball Jutsu just as good as Minato." Lord Hokage looked deep in thought.

"Everyone knows that the last element that appears on the induction paper is the most difficult to use and master, so I assumed that it might have been a fluke. But he then went on to do both the Phoenix Flower Jutsu and the Burning Ash Jutsu with relative ease." As I finished lord Hokage looked at me and said, "It could be that he is proficient in all three chakra natures equally. It is not unheard of to be proficient in more than one chakra nature. Both lord first and lord second could use all five chakra natures to a terrifying degree. I am also proficient in all five natures. It seems that Yato is the same but with only the three chakra natures that he possesses. Based on this information I have a feeling that both Minato and Yato will become splendid shinobi in the future and reliable assets to our village. Train them well Kazuto." I was ordered by lord Hokage and replied, "Yes sir. I will train them to the best of my abilities until they graduate and train under their Jonin sensei."

I excuse myself and leave the Hokage's office. 'I will teach them both in fire-style and will improve their taijutsu as well as resisting genjutsu. By the time they graduate, they should both be almost at the same level as the other chunin in the village. As they grow and gain experience, when it is time for the chunin exams they would be able to pass it easily.' I thought to myself about the boy's future and how I will guide them until the end of the year.

(Hiruzen pov)

~The Hokage's office~

The third Hokage was in deep thought about the information that he had just received.

'So another person who is proficient in all his chakra natures. I need to find the proper Jonin to place him under. I am thinking of putting Minato under Jiraiya; he will train him well. But who would be able to push Yato to his limits? With three chakra natures even though he is a civilian shinobi there is always a chance to awaken a kekkei genkai. With lightning and water style he can awaken gale-style kekkei genkai, and with fire and water, he can awaken vapor-style kekkei genkai. Also, just because he can use three chakra natures there is a big possibility that he doesn't awaken a kekkei genkai. Both lord second and I can use all five and we haven't awakened a kekkei genkai.' I kept thinking for hours about what to do and who to place as Yato's Jonin sensei.

'If there is even a chance to awaken a kekkei genkai then he will need someone to teach him. If he doesn't then he will still need someone to teach him how to use all three chakra natures to their limits. There is only one person who possesses the same chakra nature as Yato and has awakened a kekkei genkai. Yato will be placed under him and when the other villages catch wind of his talent he will be able to protect Yato, just as Jiraiya will be able to protect Minato.' I decide on who will be Yato's Jonin sensei and continue on other matters.

(Yato pov)

"Ohh man I am full." I say out loud to Minato as I stretch my arms above my head. Minato smiles and says, "Me too, the food here really is quite good don't you think so Yato?" "Absolutely, and because it's so good why don't you invite Kushina to lunch sometime?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Minato starts stuttering and asking why I would say that but I just interrupt him, "Minato it's been five months since she moved here and it was two months ago when we saw her beating up that genin. As far as I know, neither of us have interacted with her since. Rightttt?" I say/ask Minato while staring at him. "R-ight" he confirms.

"Alright then so if you like her so much just ask her to join you for lunch one day. It'll be fun." I advise him with my thumbs up and a grin on my face. He just looks at me with suspicion.

"You're scheming something, aren't you?" Minato asks with a suspicious glare at me.

I just look away with my hands behind my head.

"You totally are. I can read your schemes like a book Yato. If I ever do ask her to join me for lunch I would never tell you." He said as a matter of fact.

"Alright alright, it's whatever. Anyway, I'm gonna start heading home. I am going to need some rest because next week I am going to challenge Taiko Uchiha to a taijutsu match and take his place as 3rd in our class and I will be one step closer to you." I inform Minato as he looks at me and says.

"I will wait for you at the top Yato. I will not let anyone beat me until you come along and challenge me for the number 1 spot in our class. I know can beat Taiko. But you will need to get a lot better to beat Renji Hyuga. His clan is the best at taijutsu in the whole village."

I reply to Minato with enthusiasm, " Don't you worry I will handle those two, and by the end of the year after Kazuto's sensei test and before our graduation exam..." I pause as I look at Minato with a serious look on my face.

"I will challenge you, and I will beat you."

Minato just looks at me with a smile welcoming my challenge as I look at him with a fire burning in my eyes.

He turns around and leaves.

I turn around and leave.
